Dr. Weeman is truly a master of Orthodontics! That along with the fact that he's one of the kindest people, and BEST staff, makes him a pleasure to work with. I had braces back when I was 15, and thought I was too cool for them, so went ahead and yanked them off with pliers. Needless to say, my parents were beyond pissed, and told me they weren't paying for me to get them replaced. Well into my adult years (now 37), I began to have speech issues. My words would get all tied up when speaking, and would be just gibberish. I also suffered from lockjaw, and a MASSIVE overbite. I visited Dr. Weeman at Exchange Dental in Manhattan for a consultation two years ago. He told me I was in the right place. My teeth were pretty awful to start with. There were huge spaces to fill as a result of molars being removed and there was crowding in my bottom teeth. He told me traditional braces were the way to go because it would be most effective and the fastest option. I took his recommendation and went ahead with them. I had metal braces on the bottom and ceramic braces on the top. It was not very noticeable , but it did get some getting used to at first. It was difficult to speak and eat at the beginning. But he assured me I would get used to them and I would not noticed them after a while. Months went on, and I had gotten used to it that it didn't even bother me anymore. The monthly tightening of the wires etc only resulted in a day or so or soreness, but my teeth were moving FAST! Dr. Weeman definitely knows his stuff, being in the business for 26 years now. He was always so nice on my monthly appointments, that I was no longer dreaded going to the dentist/ortho. He is very easy to talk to, and answers all my questions and concerns whenever I asked. He did not set up any false expectations of how long it would take, and I was not disappointed with the month to month progress. Fast forward two years, I told him that my birthday was coming up, and it would be awesome to have them off by then. He told me the progress was looking great and I should schedule an appointment on March 13 and I would have them taken off 2 weeks before my birthday. I was so ecstatic, that I even hugged him! Let's get straight to the point- I could not recommend Dr. Weeman enough. And here is the story: I was 26 and moved to NYC and my orthodontic treatment needed to transfer. I looked up 8 orthodontists in New York and had met all of them and discussed about my case, the charge, the further treatments and my concerns. At that point, I have already have braces for 2 years yet my teeth were not looking right. I wanted to find the right one. I mean, as an adult who decided to have braces, who doesn't want perfection? Several reasons made me chose Dr. Weeman and I am glad I did- 1- he was very honest about my case. He explained what he could do. He told me upfront that I will need to pull two more teeth to make the things right. 2- he does all the orthodontics work himself- not one of "I tell the assists what to do and they do it thing". 3- he was (still is) very patient and super easy to communicate with. He will listen to my concern and answered ALL my questions. 4- he said he could work with the existing braces I had, which will cost a lot less (one orthodontist I met told me she couldn't and the quote was twice the price). All I am saying is that Dr. Weeman has the full package: professional knowledge, awesome personality and fair pricing. Long story short- after 22 months of journey, I gratefully hug my dearest Dr.Weeman the last appointment when the braces off my teeth. I am happy. Dr. Weeman has totally changed my life. A little over a year ago, I decided to undergo jaw surgery to correct my overbite and open bite. I needed to have braces before and after the surgery, and my jaw surgeon told me that Dr. Weeman is the best orthodontist to work with. Well, my jaw surgeon was completely right. Not only is Dr. Weeman a talented orthodontist, but he's also caring and patient. He always took the time to make sure I understood what was happening at each appointment and how I was progressing. He and his team are so friendly. Every time I went in, I felt like I was being greeted by good friends. He also has great taste in music. After a little over a year, my teeth are the straightest they've ever been (I also had braces in high school, but did not have these same results). I can't get over how amazing my teeth look!! It's absolutely incredible! And I know it's because Dr. Weeman didn't rush me through the process. He made sure to give my teeth the time they needed so that I could have the best possible result. That's a lot of what makes Dr. Weeman so great; he knows the difference between a good result, and a great result, and he doesn't settle for anything less than a great result. At the age of 45, never having had braces, I finally followed my dentist's advice to see an orthodontist about the continual moving of my bottom teeth. I was open to suggestions but never felt that I needed a "perfect" smile. Little did I know that because of the position of my teeth that I would continue to run a risk of not being able to clean properly, and that our teeth continue to move ALL of our life. During the initial consultation Dr. Weeman presented me with options but was strong in that Invisalign wasn't going to deliver the results needed. We agreed that lingual braces were the best option (I didn't want the full metal on the exterior).
