I'm not even finished with treatment but wanted to give positive feedback after only week 15! I have already noticed a REMARKABLE difference in the alignment of my front bottom teeth and I couldn't be happier! I have night retainers that I previously used to use for top and bottom; I compared them to my current trays. A huge difference already! I'm so excited to see the finished product! I came only to dropoff candy for their Halloween donation program thus only a front desk interaction, but it is easy to discern the nature of a dental practice from just the front desk. I have almost a dozen dental practice interactions in the last 1y with my children during which I learned that pediatric dentistry in the city is truly awful. I suspect economic reasons of undersupply and over demand enable power to the supplier. Anyways, I am thus sensitive to and experienced in the administration as a determinant of other overall practice credibility. A cherry airy both architectural design and attitude from the thankful staff suggests excellent conditions. Happier staff do better work which you want in a dentistry practice! I also noticed snacks and free drinks for patients in the sun drenched lobby. I emailed secretary Amber to check on the donation program. She within the hour reply that they were accepting candy for donation to the troops shipping in 2d. I quickly the next business day got myself over here to their storefront which is extremely easy to find as the address, while on 21st Street, actually has its entry door on 2 Av thus easy walk from major M15+ and M34A stops. read more

I sought treatment with Dr. Jamie Royal in 2016 for a cosmetic dental issue related to congenitally missing upper lateral incisors. At the time, I had already undergone orthodontic canine substitution, which left me unsatisfied and self-conscious about my appearance. This decision came after spending my childhood and mid-teenage years struggling with missing teeth and the resulting negative self-image. Looking back, my teeth and gums were at least very healthy and in a stable position. Dr. Royal assured me that she could reverse the canine substitution and provide enough space for dental implants, but, unfortunately, the outcome has been far from what was promised. Despite an insufficient jaw width for the necessary implant space, Dr. Royal proceeded with the treatment. During the treatment process, Dr. Royal pushed my teeth into an unstable position and removed a significant amount of enamel. As a result, my teeth became unnaturally flared and extruded out of my jaw, and I experienced pain and discomfort from the high forces and occlusal misalignment. My concerns were not adequately addressed during this time, and the treatment was never deemed unsuccessful by Dr. Royal. I was in a difficult situation and eventually walked away from the treatment, leaving me confused about what had just happened and where to go. It has now been seven years since I began treatment with Dr. Royal, and I am still dealing with the consequences of her actions. I have irreversible damage to my teeth, including extensive root resorption, bone loss, gum recession, occlusal trauma, teeth fractures, and chronic insomnia. My jaw never rests in a comfortable position. Some of my teeth have lost half of their roots, making them extremely loose and at risk of falling out. This damage has made it difficult for me to receive any further treatment, as additional procedures could potentially cause more harm or tooth loss. I've seen several doctors and all said there is a good chance I will lose several teeth in the future especially if I plan to do another round of ortho. I cannot fully express the emotional toll this experience has taken on me. The complications and ongoing issues with my dental health have caused me immense frustration, and I feel like my life has been severely impacted. My self-esteem and confidence have suffered greatly, and I have missed out on many opportunities and experiences because of the dental problems I now face. Imagine going to a job interview, or on a date, or just existing in society with the teeth shown in the pictures. Additionally, this failed treatment has not only cost me in terms of my health and quality of life, but also financially. The subsequent consultations with other doctors including orthodontists, periodontists, and cosmetic dentists along with multiple trays to allow my teeth to slowly relapsed have costed me in the tens of thousands. This financial strain further exacerbates the stress and disappointment I have endured as a result of this process. I have included photos and X-rays as evidence of the damage caused by the treatment. I feel that I was misdiagnosed and misled by Dr. Royal. I share this review in hopes of raising awareness about the potential risks of dental treatments and the importance of seeking multiple opinions before proceeding with any procedure. I implore you to trust your gut instinct. At the beginning of my treatment, I found it hard to see how it would be possible to obtain the needed spaces without surgery, but I proceeded with blind faith due to Dr. Royal's credentials and confidence. I hope others can learn from my experience to avoid the pain and suffering I have endured. Not only is Dr. Royal an orthodontist of the highest caliber, she and her team represent one of the best businesses I have ever patronized, regardless of industry, due to their professionalism, efficiency, and tremendous hospitality. Beginning a braces journey as an adult is a very humbling experience. I had grown very accustomed to taking pictures and smiling without showing any teeth. Dr. Royal assured me that I deserved (and would have) a smile that I could show off. With each visit I slowly saw my teeth transform and while my process took longer than the time originally prescribed, Dr. Royal made me feel at ease, because I knew that she wanted to get my teeth just right. She was extremely meticulous about what to do and what needed to happen with the rewiring of my teeth and the bands. It's finally the end of my journey, and I could not have done this without Dr. Royal and her team! I had double jaw surgery (covered by my medical insurance) and I'm posting this to share my story. I hope it helps others that are considering surgery. I had a team of 3 providers during this intensive process: Dr. Royal for orthodontic treatment to align my teeth, Dr. Leo Paige as the oral surgeon to extract my teeth (covered by my insurance) and Dr. Gwendolyn Reeve who performed the 6+ hour surgery (she is an incredibly skilled surgeon). Dr. Paige originally referred Dr. Royal and spoke highly of her, complimenting her twice on 2 occasions I had with him. Dr. Reeve also has a strong relationship with Dr. Royal and highly recommended her as my orthodontist. Dr. Reeve diagnosed me with maxillary hypoplasia (the underdevelopment of the upper jaw) and mandibular hypoplasia (when the lower jaw is undersized) which compromised my airways. I had lifelong issues with sleep apnea, breathing issues, narrow airways, teeth grinding and a lip incompetence that contributed to these problems and made the decision to go through with the surgery process. I chose Dr. Royal because she is incredibly kind and experienced in the orthodontic treatment process for all kinds of cases. She is a perfectionist and also listens to any questions or concerns. I knew I was in good hands when I committed to the Royal team. When I first did my consultation, I had to put things on hold and followed up a year later. She remembered me and pulled up my file to go over my case again. I had consultations with other orthodontists and felt like they only cared about money. Whereas Dr. Royal is more focused on fostering a good work place and community with her team and patients. I felt assured in her care. I received incredibly fair pricing, esp for the level of talent I was seeking; and was allowed completely interest-free installment payments. Dr. Royal kept me on track to finishing even ahead of schedule, and also helped me find amazing specialists my teeth required. I have received nothing but high praise from every other dentist I've seen on the exceptional work that was done by them all. I thought I'd have to wait at least a few hours if not a day or two. Not the case, and I thoroughly enjoyed Melissa's awesome music playlist while waiting and during my entire visit. Dr. Royal carefully assessed my bite and teeth shift from my accident, and assured me that it would be all be okay in the end. I have no doubts. My teeth, in her care, are once again correcting and moving toward perfection. At this point, no one can even tell aside from perfectionist little me, Dr. Royal, and her staff, also all perfectionists; but only if looking very closely and directly into my mouth. And aside from dental care visits, that's definitely not how I greet people, haha. My smile still looks amazing to the naked eye from my original treatment, all thanks to Dr. Royal's brilliance. Also, I 100% feel that my teeth were saved in my fall due to the incredible strength, endurance, and expert performance of the permanent retainers she had placed behind those now affected teeth, years ago. I would probably be writing a review on an (expensive) emergency oral surgeon, otherwise. I don't know what else to tell you other than the fact that Dr. Royal is a life-safer.
