Went in a pizza tour and Roberta's was last on my list. I felt the Bushwick vibey energy upon walking in. Just picture it...christmas lights hanging, an oversized American flag at the host stand, graffiti through and throughout and indie rock playing in the background. My favorite part about the ambiance was the open pizza kitchen. You immediately get to smell all the goodness when you walk in. Now to the food... My table decided on the Fisheye Lens pizza, and Little Gem salad. If you looking for something on the lighter side the Fisheye pizza is your go to. She...the pizza had a crust of perfection but doesn't come with sauce. Although all the components were great, I didn't find myself craving another slice. The little Gem Salad was airy and light. I particularly appreciated it not being over dressed and the lettuce was crunchy as ever! Also shoutout to the service. I noticed the teamwork amongst the staff and its greatly appreciated. We stopped by Roberta's for dinner after a comedy show. It was pouring out but Roberta's was packed and required a bit of a wait. We were seated in the back area where there was ample seating. We ordered: + Stracciatella: we attacked this appetizer once it came to our table. This dish came with two slices of bread which was enough for the big blob of cheese. + Marinated Olives: these were delicious and were fun to eat with our drinks + Little Gem Salad: this salad was refreshing, crunchy, and delicious. + Margherita Pizza: a basic margherita pizza done well. The crusts were also divulged (that's when you can tell the pizza is good). +Ice Cream Sandwich: we ended our dessert with their recommended sticky bun and ice cream dish. This was delicious and well worth the try. They tried to market it as a cinnamon roll but it is definitely much better than that. The staff was fun. This was Exceptional Neopolitan style pizza. All of the ingredients across the board tasted so fresh. Even for sitting down you get your pizza within 10 minutes of you ordering it due to the oven. The cheese was so fresh, the sauce had an awesome natural sweetness with a hint of raw sourness in a tomato with the slightest bit of heat. The dough was a Perfect mix of crispy on the main part yet a perfect mouth feel and chew to the end of the crust. It tasted like it was extra fermented and wow was it worth it. 100% one of my favorites in NYC so far, and the vibe of the place is also awesome! Used to love this spot (the bee sting pizza is still my favorite) but the service was horrendous when I was here last weekend. I know they're busy but I ordered pizza for pickup - to at the backyard location in bushwick. Estimated time for 3 pizzas for pickup up was 25mins. Knowing them, I was even okay waiting double that amount of time. Ended up waiting 1 hour and 45mins to pick up 3 small pies that were $25+ for each pie. SMH! ‍ go elsewhere for better and more affordable pizza and not have to wait almost 2 hours for it. Or they need to correct their online system for the estimated wait time cause how does 25mins =1 hour 45mins ?! read more

Nothing like some wood-fired pizza to take away all the troubles of flash flooding! Roberta's was great, the pizzas were thin and crispy, with just the right amount of chewiness. You know it's a good pie when the crusts are just as good as the rest of each slice! The bee sting had the slightest kick from the chili oil, which went well with the soppressata. And the speckenwolf was a great pie, though I still have no idea what "speck" is, and am too lazy to google it. It's famous for a reason, and if you're in NY at all, it's worth a trip to Brooklyn. The crust is very thin where they put the things on it, and thick where you pick it up. Today, I was relaxing in the area when hunger hit me HARD! I opened my trusty Yelp! app to search for a good place for pizza and found Roberta's less than 2 blocks from where I was standing. On my entry into the front door, I was greeted by the beautiful smells of pizzas baking in the brick oven. The oven made the room warm on this chilly evening. Without a wait, the hostess took us to a table and provided water, utensils and menus. We ordered the pizza with hot soppresata and the "Original" which was a pizza with multiple types of cheese. Both pizzas were incredible. The crust was flexible and folded easily, with the rear crust being slightly crispy. The pizza was so good, there are NO leftovers for later....thats the sad part! We shared the Margherita, Famous Original, Bee Sting, and Lil Stinker. The crusts for 3 of the 4 pizzas were disgustingly burnt. The flavors were fine, but nothing I haven't tasted a million times elsewhere for larger portions at lower prices. The one good crust we got was, well, good, but 25% is still an F on any test. Ambience: 1 star. It's loud. Uncomfortably loud. Sports-bar-on-a-Nicks-playoff-night loud. Be prepared to scream to be heard, and if you're sitting in a circle, say goodbye to anyone not next to you. I've ate here three times and every time it's been the worse service of my life. Terrible customer service from the time you walk in until you leave. The host had to get me a server one of the times I was there and the other time she had to straight up put my order in. Every time I've went it's taken them at least 30-40 minutes to even approach me. The servers don't bring your food anyways so I'm not sure what takes them so long to greet a table. As someone who's been working as a server for years I can tell you right now every single one of them either haven't had any training at all or are just incapable of being a server. I went to the original Roberta's pizza in Bushwick to have their delicious wood fired pizza! It's a cool vibe, industrial with lots of grungy stickers and a cute covered patio in the back. I opted for their original, which has a good crust and was very cheesy, but a little too tart from the tomato sauce. I would recommend the bee sting, which has spicy sopprasetta and honey. While it's dark-lit inside and a bit difficult to find outside, the restaurant itself was very comfortable, clean, and spacious, with a charming outdoor eating area for warm, sunny days. Don't be fooled by its veneer, Roberta's staff were friendly and the restaurant patrons were a mixture of families with kids and young working professionals. The Cheesus Christ (it's seasonal and not on the menu, though they can still make it if asked) was obviously cheesy, but light and completely Parmesan. It paired nicely with my favorite, the Bee Sting, which seems like Roberta's signature. It's a tomato-pepperoni pizza that mixes sweet, savory, and spicy. You can feed three people comfortably with two pizzas (4 slices per person), and while it's not cheap nor great value like Joe's, Roberta's pizzas are gourmet and well-made. The music is very loud and it's a bit challenging to have conversations but we managed. It's a great spot for a date night. Super casual. Music played was Tadow, Sunshine, Free Room, Queen Tings. We were four and had veal bites and bread and butter, 7 soft drinks and 3 pies and had sticky buns to go. Our bill was $100. Not a fan of the sticky buns--they were very greasy. I loved this place. The service was kind & so chill. They let us try drinks & gave great recs. We came recently on a late Saturday afternoon (~3 PM). The restaurant was still bustling with almost every table full; we ended up sitting at the communal table in the inside. Service wasn't the fastest, and it took ~20 minutes for us to get our first app, then ~15 to get our pizzas. We started with the fried sweetbread, which was super interesting. It was our first time trying sweetbread, and there's certainly a unique flavor and texture to it. The batter was super crispy which I appreciated, and the lime really helped. Not sure it's my absolute favorite, and probably wouldn't again, but that's more a reaction to sweetbread itself. We then got the bee sting as well as the white pie. The pizzas were both good, but the crust was a bit dense for my taste. The bee sting was flavorful and well balanced, but I wish the cheese was stronger in flavor. I've had the Roberta's in LA, but this is a completely different (and way better) experience. Love the low key and somewhat dive bar feel of this location. Staff wasn't the friendliest I've ever had but they were attentive and their haste between tables kinda adds to the whole aura of this place. Olives - nice way to start the meal and allowed everyone to pick and share while waiting for our mains. If you don't like pits then avoid these as they have them. Bee Sting Pizza - wow! The way savory and sweet plays on this pie with the addition of the honey is amazing. Must-try and for whatever reason way tastier than its LA counterpart. Lil Stinker - perfect counterpart to the Bee Sting as this one features some heavy garlic and hot peppers. Really good. Beer List - great selection of local craft beers. Was nice to wash down the pizzas with a KCBC hazy. Came here with middle of the road expectations and left blown away. The flavors, ambiance and execution are all on point here. I used to live right next to Roberta's, and my buddy worked there. It's gone through many changes since then, and I guess is a bit less zeitgeisty. But it's reliably delicious. I love going for brunch and getting either pizza with egg on it or the beautiful carbonara. You absolutely must get the straciatella. Spicy folks, add the nduja. The service is fantastic and the servers are cooler than you. It's just a fun chill vibe with great food. I wish I took a picture of the bee sting pizza as well; everything we ordered (pictures included) was phenomenal. We had one person who could not eat pork, and the server was very helpful in answering questions we had and offering potential workarounds. A note that the carbonara was a little on the salty side, which might not be enjoyable to everyone! The restaurant has a cohesive vibe to it, is understandably popular and has a little bit of a wait time before being seated if you walk in without a reservation. I came to have the oxtail lasagna, but their website wasn't updated with the current menu, which means I'll definitely have to make a return trip in the winter to try it along with some other menu items! read more

Great spot! Arrived 5pm sharp on a Thursday prior to a show at BK mirage. It was fairly empty so we were able to get in and out quick. We tried the Gem salad (so good, perfect to share) and 2 pies: Bee Sting & White Guy - both were cooked to perfection and very good. I've always heard amazing things about Robertas, since even before the pandemic to be honest, but I'd never once been inside. So cool actually cool and delicious food and craft cocktails. We all shared the Bee Sting Pizza and got individual pasta dishes. My Carbonara tasted more like Cacio Pepe, there were literally only 2 pieces of Guanciale...... It was still delicious. I am a big fan of wood fire pizza and Roberta's does not disappoint! My friend is recently gluten free (health reasons!) so she got the Little Gem salad, no breadcrumbs. She seemed underwhelmed by her $17 plain salad. My other friend and I split a couple of pizzas. We went with the Lil Stinker and the Bee Sting. We both loved the bee sting-the soppresseta is delicioso. The best thing about the lil stinker is it's name. It's got a fun kick, but the combination of onions, garlic, and pepperonchini is overwhelming. Maybe there is just too much of each ingredient. Our server was really friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. He did suggest two pizzas for us, which was a lot for two people. Unless you're starving, one pizza is plenty for two people. Never disappoints! Every time I come here I can only be grateful for the consistent taste. I brought my family from LA here as they are huge NY pizza fans. They were very happy with the pizzas. Both pizzas were well cooked and well seasoned. We ended up ordering more despite being full because we couldn't help it. They were also nice enough to make the lil stinker on request even though it's off the menu now. The service is just as good as the food. Everyone here is so nice and friendly.
