A late post nonetheless well over due. We were out here for 4th of July weekend and we were pretty hungry that we could've settled for almost anything the situation was that we have a dog & we had to find a place that was dog friendly and Roberto's was the spot for us. Their place isn't difficult to spot especially because their right on a corner. Nice clean friendly atmosphere very welcoming almost made me feel like I walked into a family members house. We ordered a few different types of tacos (no pictures taken) chicken was well seasoned & very delicious * chefs kiss the other one is my GO TO the asada which was very good but I'd have to say the chicken one was by far the best in my opinion. We also ordered the nachos with guacamole...OMG!! The tortilla chips were cooked to perfection not overly salted just a perfect crisp to every bite. Now when I eat at any Mexican restaurant I'm very particular of the fresh waters ( agua frescas) not many can meet the right sweet consistency and at Roberto's it was just perfect! Like I had mentioned earlier we had our dog with us so the outside patio was a nice & private. Overall the best place to stop for some great food and great customer service. Great little local spot, not far from the airport which worked out perfect as I await a delayed flight. The staff is very nice and immediately approaches when walking up to the counter. Everything was clean, and well kept and the flow of people walking in was steady. Nice little salsa bar with 4 styles, 2 hot, 2 mild, but were great for blending together to find the combo to my preference. The Burrito I got today was the Deluxe Breakfast Burrito. Good size, not huge but definitely has some heft. The bacon, sausage and ham were plentiful and fairly evenly distributed. Cheese was a bit light but the other flavors kept this from being a big deal. The potato they use is a hash brown with the best flaky crunch, think McD hash brown but fluffier inside and a panko style crunch. The balance of texture and flavors was on point. Solid choice, and the other burritos I saw being made looked pretty consistent with making sure they don't skimp. Location and ambiance is a 5 star, great little neighborhood spot. 5 stars for the service, friendly and they actually look like they like working here! The burrito gets a solid 4.5, flavors were there and size was great value, but some bites needed salsa to restore the moisture. Found this little shop looking for some affordable Mexican food in Point Loma. It's a tiny shop with a small parking lot but a lot of street parking. There are a few tables inside and some outside seating. There's also a salsa bar inside. The service is great. The cashier was so sweet and helpful. She greeted every customer that came in and never lost her patience even when it got pretty busy. We came in at 6 pm on a Saturday night and it was steadily busy the whole time we were there but the food came out quickly and there wasn't too bad of a wait. My husband and I split a carne asada fries and deluxe breakfast burrito. The fries were okay, not as crispy as I prefer and there wasn't a lot of meat but it was tender and well seasoned. I enjoyed the burrito more which came with eggs, hash browns, ham, sausage, and bacon. There was a good amount of eggs inside and the hash browns were sooo crispy. The tortilla was warm and delicious. The burrito was amazing with some of their salsa poured over it. Prices were pretty good too. I have been getting bean tostadas from various Robertos for over 30 years. In the last year alone I have probably picked up at least 50 from the Point Loma location. However, it appears that they are cutting corners to save money, using inventory long past its shelf life. My order last night was so bad I cannot believe it even went out. There was barely a teaspoon of cheese on it and just a small toss of lettuce. The shell was so stale I couldn't break it up with a fork, which is what I usually do. I couldn't even cut it with a knife and fork. I tried a bite and it was like chewing cardboard. Am so, so disappointed that they let something like this leave the restaurant, as this WAS my favorite inexpensive go-to for a good tostada. OK, I think it would take a lot for me to get five stars to the taco place, but I'm not sure I've had better experience. The inside was immaculately clean like it. It appears every 30 minutes wipe every surface inside very efficient. The grill is sparkling clean the food was super fresh hot to order and very quick on delivery took no more than five minutes to prepare. Prices are right and if you can eat an entire burrito, then your damn hungry because it was giant I had the Carne Asada breakfast burrito and thoroughly enjoyed it. It didn't take long to get our food, but it would've been worth waiting for! Hot and fresh and tasty! I finally made it to our local Roberto's and I wasn't disappointed. My daughter and I came free picnic lunch before we went for a walk on Shelter Island. We both had a taste for the rolled tacos and guacamole, and they were drenched in guacamole and freshly prepared and super crispy on the end just as I like them. I couldn't have asked for a better satisfying meal for my craving. We sat outside at the picnic tables and enjoyed the fresh salsa bar and the natural light. Then we went for a delightful walk along the water. This is a great location and there's a few parking spots, but it's a pretty tight lot. There's also parking on the street. The employees are super friendly and there were lots of locals filling up the tables inside and ordering takeout. I hope this place has great success and I look forward to trying there. There's a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating, and they have a private parking lot so you don't need to worry about finding street parking. The service was quick and friendly! We stumbled upon this spot while heading to another taco shop to try their breakfast burrito, only to find it closed. I checked Yelp and saw this place had over 4 stars, so we decided to give it a try -- and I'm so glad we did! We ordered the Hash Brown Deluxe Breakfast Burrito, which came with crispy hash browns, bacon, sausage, egg, and cheese. While it looked a bit short at first, it was packed full and surprisingly filling. It was served piping hot and absolutely delicious. The crispy hash browns added the perfect crunch and paired so well with the soft eggs and creamy cheese. I appreciated that the cheese was balanced -- not too much, not too little -- and the amount of bacon and sausage was just right. The salsas were also excellent. The green tomatillo, the slightly chunky mild salsa, and the spicy one were all flavorful and fresh. This place had a cute, inviting exterior and was impressively clean inside. As an SD native on a hometown visit with my family, I had high expectations with choosing the Roberto's name as my first Mexican meal upon arriving back in town. I am sooooo disappointed! Three of our four items were incorrect. Torta bread was MUSHY. Large, u evenly chopped, semi-raw green bell peppers, onions and tomatoes were added to the chicken quesadilla which was not only an unpleasant surprise for my child, but not something listed on their menu. We ordered rolled tacos without cotija and received them smothered in crema, also something not listed on the menu and inedible for my lactose intolerant family member. Super bummed!
