Had my stomach set for their wonderful chile colorado. A bit of a letdown this time, instead of chunks of meat, they're using sliced meat instead. Not the same definitely. The chunks of meat gave a much better flavour profile, the sliced meat does not impart the same flavour profile a chunk of meat imparts. That's a big no no, I hope this is an isolated occurrence and not the norm. I sure would be disappointed if this is how they're gonna change the recipe to. Heading home after a long day of work, decided to go through the Roberto's drive-through. Carne' Asada fries sounded really really good, and oh my goodness they hit the spot. They were so good. We went to the one in Carson and the meat had a little bit of crisp on it like they put it on the stove top. We were able to split an order which was plenty for us two people. And they actually were exceptional. I do love Roberto's and when they do an outstanding job like they did today, they should be committed for it they hit the mark today which they usually do. Been going to this place for many years.... We ordered two Beef Tacos, the Mixed Burrito (beef and beans) and an order of Chips and Salsa. $3.95 for each taco but they were decent. $7 for chips and salsa and every single chip was soggy by the time we got home (only two miles from home) because they were covered in fresh tomatoes and onions (it should have been on the side). $8 for the beef and beans burrito and it was disgusting! It was stuffed with huge slices of green peppers and onions and no cheese!! So gross! I don't think I'll be going back there for a while! read more

Came in for a snack while waiting for car work to get finished... it was a big mistake. The food was bland and dry, and customer service leaves a lot to be desired. A couple of the workers kept coming out sneering and making funny faces at us. Made us wonder if they did something to the food. We have our own suspicions as to why but won't go into that. It's been a couple of years since I rolled through this part of Carson City. I was surprised to see this Roberto's had replaced another fast food place I used to frequent on a regular basis. Being familiar with Roberto's (from living in Las Vegas), I decided to give it a try. They've got a huge menu... it can be overwhelming if you're not exactly sure what to order. So many good possibilities and I need to narrow it to just one? Ugh. So I went with the Carne Asada plate. It was OK... definitely not the best Carne Asada I've had, to be honest. It had good flavor... but was overcooked and chewy - or maybe it was like this because it was the end of the day? (8pm) Of course, this could easily be an "off day" kind of thing... I try not to judge an entire restaurant based on one dish / one time. Considering my "end of day" theory, a better choice might have been Chile Colorado or Chile Verde... something "saucy". Overall, I think this is a good addition to Carson City, even though I already had a "go to" taqueria in the area - it's always good to have options. read more

Ohhh Robertos, you NEVER let me down! Kinda like a best friend that you KNOW you can call at 3AM to bail you out of jail. Every.Single.Time. This trip, ordered an Adobada burrito, and an order of rolled tacos. The rolled tacos were less than impressive, at least to what I'm used to, but we're not back down south, we're in Nevada. But they still looked good. The lady at the window was super nice, and I ordered extra lime wedges from my Adobada, I mean "pork" (hahahahahaha) burrito. You absolutely cannot have an Adobada burrito without lime! We were the only people in the Drive-Thru today, which means we had to sit for a little bit while they prepared our food fresh, which they typically do I'm sure. My burrito was piping hot. Great traditional flavors and the drive thru lady even through in green sauce along with the red!! Only saw a motorcycle and a car for people dining inside, but I'm sure they were having a delightful AUTHENTIC Mexican dining experience! I tried the location in Reno years ago and had crispy chicken tacos. The shells were overcooked and the chicken was dry. I thought I would give the Carson Location a try. I ordered 2 carne asada tacos alacart. I took one bite and it had a horrible chemical smell. My stomach turned and I didn't eat it. At that point I had no time to go back. I love Roberto's ! This location is very clean an efficient. I have a serious chili rellano burrito addiction. The hot sauce is fresh and spicy hot! Carnitas burrito is so good with quac included. They don't put a bunch of beans and rice in the meat burritos, generally so they are very substantial! My son orders the carne asada and we've also tried the pollo burrito and shredded beef (picadillo-yummy with onions and peppers) burritos. Can't go wrong with a Roberto's burrito. Oh, almost forgot about the taquitos. Kids say Yum. Someday I'll try to tacos, but just can't get enough of that ooey gooey hot chili rellano burrito. read more

Roberto's food is always amazing. The quality and the consistency, I know what I'm getting and I love what I'm getting. This 5 star review is not about that though. I pulled up to the drive thru tonight and in front of me an out of state license plate, my window rolled down, and could hear everything. Some tourists had a question about almost (if not) everything on the menu. Without even ordering, I'm not exaggerating here, they had 10-15 minutes of only questions about the menu. Only questions. I'm waiting, knowing what I want to order, the usual, ready to go, growing increasingly frustrated, as I'm guessing any normal person might. The employee, I came to learn as his name is Aldo, Was one of the most kind and customer service oriented hard workers I have ever experienced. My window down, I heard the entire interaction. Aldo answered every single question (I swear to god there was a comma in the amount) and was able to give recommendations and preferences on what he personally preferred and was able to procure a tangible order from these people. And by that I mean tourists from Colorado. Regardless of my frustrations of having to wait so long in a drive thru, realizing it's not on the business's end, I was HIGHLY impressed with Aldo and his level of customer service. I gave him my business card and told him how impressed I was with his level of customer service and sociability. You can only teach this skill to a degree, but Aldo is a natural. Jan 1st 2023 in carson city at 130am. No power and hungry go to Roberto's in carson city. Ordered 2 steak breakfast burritos and 3 chicken tacos. The burritos as you can see no steak in either one. And the tacos those are no tacos I have seen street tacos with more meat then the chicken tacos. This is the second time in 2 weeks this happened and finally had enough. This is not ok to do this to customers. I pay for steak and I get no meat. Trying to say it was an accident one visit and 1 burrito I can understand. But twice in a row and multiple burritos I don't think so. Oh and also when you have ice 3 feet high and my all wheel drive vehicle slides to the side almost off the drive thru parking. My car would have fallen into the road. If I didn't live so close I would not have gone back and I don't think I will anyway. Happy new year read more

I hadn't been there since it opened, but when it first opened, the cars were lined up around the block for days. Today I had a taste for tacos so I pulled in and looked at the menu. I asked the girl if I could have the fish tacos on flour tortillas she told me they don't do tacos on flour tortillas. In other words they don't do street tacos because I can't eat corn for allergy reasons. I asked what else I could get made out of a flour tortilla. She said a burrito, I've never really had a burrito before but I've seen people eat them and they look pretty good so I ordered one and decided to get the refried beans and rice with it. They have a salsa bar that is very limited. It had a red sauce, green sauce and some type of jalapeño grilled with carrots, but no signage telling you what it was I got a drink and soon my food was up I opened up the container and was surprised at the very small portion of refried beans that look like they were puréed with no flavor, some thing that was supposed to be Mexican rice, but had almost no color and no flavor. I figured I could fix that so I went to the salsa bar and got a container of the green sauce. The burrito was large, but the tortilla that it was wrapped and was so over baked I couldn't bite into it, I had to literally cut it with a knife and fork and that was difficult. The flour tortilla was so tough. I couldn't finish it and brought it home when I got it home. I had to cut it with a sharp knife the inside of the burrito was not bad. It had four pieces of fish, fingers, fried, shredded lettuce and some kind of a white tartar sauce. It had no onions no tomatoes no cheese it look like they had never made one before and wasn't quite sure what they were doing. I really don't like giving bad reviews but for $12 it was not fabulous, I'm not sure why people rave about it, I asked a few of my friends what they thought about this place and none of them had anything good to say. Maybe it was just a bad day but I really don't think I will go back. Quite frankly I think the best tacos in town come from Juan's restaurant. read more

Fairly quick drive-thru but the breakfast burrito selection was not up to par. Ordered the carne asada fries and carne asada burrito. ***did not take pics because it was so amazing***Super fresh and very generous with the meat, sour cream and guacamole. Robertos has always been my go to spot growing up in San Diego. I was super excited to see one open in Carson. Anytime we were in Reno we would try to stop there. Now we're going a few times a month. I went here last week because I'm always down to try new tacos. I liked that they had a drive thru because it was a pajama day for me. The menu was super huge. I actually ended up getting the taquitos and a tamale. Both were amazing. My mom got the crunchy tacos and she said they were delicious. The best part about this place though, was the amazing customer service. The woman at the window was so nice with a huge smile on her face. I like positive energy and I felt it there for sure.
