I've been coming here for years. It's my go to taco shop! It's doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is always freshly cooked and tasty! Their horchatas are the perfect sweetness and they don't come full of ice. They recently added birria and quesabirria to the menu and so I thought I would try and it did not disappoint! I really wanted to like this place, but my experience was disappointing and I think other customers should know. I paid about $32 for carne asada fries and a California burrito. I specifically asked for the fries to be well done and extra crispy, but the food I received was the complete opposite. The fries were soggy, not fresh, and the meat was not even warm. What stood out to me right away was how fast I got the food after paying. It took less than two minutes in the drive-thru, which made it seem like my order was rushed out without any care, even though I had made a specific request. The next day, I called and asked for a refund. The cashier was polite, professional, and ready to help me, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the cook made the situation uncomfortable. He was rude, gave me a very unwelcoming stare, and started telling the cashier false information, claiming I had come to that location many times before and had done this several times. That was completely untrue. This was my first time ever trying this taco shop. I am leaving this review because customer service and food quality both matter. I was respectful, I had a valid concern, and I should not have been made to feel uncomfortable for bringing it up. I hope the owners take this seriously, because no customer should pay that much for food that feels old and poorly prepared, and no customer should be treated badly for asking for a fair refund. read more

They messed up my order many times before I didn't make a big deal about it but they kept messing up over and over again. I ask for "everything" and I was not given "everything" the manager was not so friendly, making a big fuss about a 12 dollar burrito when I've already spent hundreds not wanting to make it right but blaming me that it's my fault, even thought I said everything on a Cali burrito. This place used to be in my regular rotation. Their carne asada is really good but I will never return here because their customer service is horrible. I waited in line at the drive thru at the menu/speaker where you order for a good 5 minutes and when no one answered I pulled forward thinking their speaker might be out. I waited an additional 5 minutes for the car in front of me to pull out and the woman in the window to finish a phone call where she was apparently taking an order for 5pm the next day. When she finally opened the window and spoke to me she informed me I couldn't order. WTAF?!!! I guess order here a day in advance if you want decent service. I went to Colima's instead... and got my burrito in half the time and for $4 cheaper. Don't waste your time and money here. read more

Too expensive for the quality of food they gave me a lot of topping but not a lot of meat on the fries. Ok, I have loved Mexican food my whole life, and this Roberto's is my go-to place. The quality of the ingredients and original recipes never disappoint. I get the chicken enchilada plate with a side of incredible jalapeño carrots. Every bite is perfect...the tortillas, the tender white chicken, the cheese, the sauce, the beans, and the rice are consistently perfect. They also give you a handful of salad for crunch. I'm pretty disappointed by my experience here and I think this review should serve as a warning to not purchase anything on your debit or credit card. I was charged exactly 20% more than my receipt shows on my credit card. Just enough for people not to notice, but in this economy, I notice. I called the restaurant to get this remedied and they put me in touch with the owner, Jessica. I have her cell phone number now, completely useless because she not does not respond to me. I was extremely understanding and we had (what I thought) a productive conversation. "We had someone new" okay, accidents happen. She then turned to her husband and asked how to remedy the situation and he said to do a refund. This was on a Saturday and the credit card processor wasn't open until Monday. Totally understand! This was 2 months ago. I've followed up respectfully multiple times. No response. I've attached the receipt and reported fraudulent charges. Pretty silly over something that could have been resolved with a pretty patient customer. Jessica, you really disappointed me as a fellow business owner. Shame on you. Also, while I never mentioned it to Jessica for the sake of respect, the food really was terrible and I never got the side of sour cream I paid for. The food is always good and they sometimes will do something custom or add something if you ask. The cashier is always fast and friendly and is also patient if you're still thinking about what to order. I've only ever ordered through drive thru so the ambience for the taco shop is just sitting outside of it since there's no dine-in, but otherwise it's a good taco shop. Come for the burritos but stay far, far away from their fries. I'll start with the bad right off the bat. I ordered some fries and a breakfast burrito to go. I got home less than five minutes later so there's no way the food could have gotten cold in such a short amount of time. The fries were completely awful. There was practically no salt on them and they were horrendously undercooked. Seriously, they tasted like they were just thawed then thrown onto a styrofoam box to give away. I was so disappointed at the lackluster and taste that when I got home, I COOKED THEM MYSELF so they could actually be edible. The breakfast burrito I ordered, however, was great. It was everything an AM burrito should be: comforting, hot and full of ooey gooey goodness that just melts in your mouth.
