This place has become my go to for taco shop food. Their carne asada fries and chips are some of the best I've had in a long time. Both their green and red salsa are very good. They give you huge portions and the food is always fresh and hot. When you order a drink they never skimp and fill it to the brim! Service is always professional, quick and straight to the point. It's never really been too busy when we come so it's quiet, clean, and just what'd you'd expect from a small taco shop. This is a must try if you love carne asada chips of fries or just overall quality Mexican food!

Don't forget the L in RoLbertos!

I absolutely adore rolbertos. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and I've still never found better rolled tacos. Absolutely delicious, and the staff is and has always been so friendly and family-like. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall, and can get a little crowded when the bars let out, but that's just a testament to how great this food is! If you're ever in the area and hungry, don't be afraid to stop into this awesome little spot and eat some of the best Mexican food you'll ever have!

Hunting down a burrito on New Year's day proved to be not the easiest. We stumbled upon this location after going to two other spots that were closed for the holiday. It's in a small lot with some parking. It was empty when we arrived, but as we waited for our food, multiple groups came to order. Not shabby, but not the best. If I was in the area and wanted rolled tacos or a burrito, I'd come back. It was just okay. They do accept card. The menu spans on both walls. There is an atm inside as well. Several seating for about 7-10 groups of people. I did not see a bathroom for customers. Service was great. Everyone was nice (cashier & kitchen). Rolled tacos were crispy but with very little meat. Kind of dry. California burrito was ok. A little dry as well. They do offer salsa which has a little bit of heat. Definitely used a lot of the salsa while eating. If you're in a pinch and need a moderately priced meal, this will tick the box.

Was in the area and had 30 minutes to burn and this place came up on Yelp. Went with Horchata, Chiles rellenos, and carne asada taco. The Chiles rellenos was overcooked/burnt and didn't taste that good. Simple no frills Mexican fare with nothing special and not sure I would return.

It truly doesn't look like much on the outside or on the inside, but don't let that scare you away!!! Like all good hole in the walls, the food is great! My boyfriend and I live in the area and I recently got a bike so we decided to come here as we were both craving some Mexican food! I'm a sucker for rolled tacos and ordered that. He got the beef enchiladas and an adobada burrito. Everything was delicious. From the guac and lettuce toppings on the rolled tacos, to the sauce poured over the enchiladas, the rice and beans, the tenderness of the adobada? Everything was delicious. The green salsa is spicy and the red salsa is spicer. I liked both and they both complimented the dishes and burrito well. To wash everhtning down, I recommend getting their horchata. It was so creamy and delicious, the perfect amount of cinnamon and a great way to end the meal. Also, the service is great! Everyone is so friendly and nice. I will definitely be coming back and hopefully to try something else on their menu!

Did not listen to directions - got unwanted ingredients all over the place. Overpriced for generic mexican.

Super dark and I mean dark, it'll take a minute for your eyes to adjust. Tapas style menu, we were a party of 4 and ordered: Squash blossom Relleno - it's the flower part of a squash plant and stuffed with mushroom duxelles which resembles a meat mixture with squash succotash. Outside is a corn tempura with a tomato base sauce. Pulpo-grilled octopus, one of the best texture and perfectly grilled skin with a chewy yet soft interior. The sauce has a slight kick and crunch from the corn nuts. Crab corn doughnut- this is their specialty and we were about to skip out but glad we didn't. The brioche bun had a donut batter with lumps of crab salad and corn mixture on top. El Festin- perfect for our party of 4 because it was a platter full of 4 Cheese quesadilla, 4 shrimp, 4 chicken slices, 1 jalapeño bacon wrap, ribeye. Flan-we should have each ordered one ourselves! Great flavors and texture, the top had ancient chocolate soil and had crispy corn nuts. Different but yummy. Overall, delicious food that came out so quick, great ambiance, we celebrated our birthdays and were each gifted candles with our names on the label. Truly amazing from beginning to end. Street parking only. The spots on the same block are metered but if you drive down to the second street towards residential, it's free.

A small rotating menu with many treasures to choose from and many items to share. The plating is very unique. A bit on the pricy side but it is worth it for the experience. You need to go at least once. A good place to bring peeps from out of town as well if the budget provides. Reservations are recommended. My only real gripes are the parking (not really their fault), the prices being a bit high and the noisy and dim atmosphere, but the other perks make up for a lot of this. Also, be careful of the candles, one dripped on my date and messed up her dress.

We grabbed a table for our whole crew, kids included, and settled in for what turned out to be a really memorable evening. Now, no meal is perfect, and ours had a funny little hiccup. We ordered the shrimp salad, and it showed up... shrimp-less. Just a salad. We laughed about it because hey, things happen, but what really made the night was how it got handled. Our server Erika noticed something was off before we even said much, and she jumped right on it. Not only did she get the dish fixed and out to us fast, she also surprised the kids with free dessert, no fuss, no attitude, just genuine hospitality. That's the kind of service that turns a small mistake into a story you actually want to tell. The rest of the meal was great too. Fresh flavors, a menu that leans into that coastal Mexican-meets-California vibe, and a setting that makes everything taste a little better. Sunset hit while we were there and the whole patio just glowed. It's one of those spots where you're paying for the experience as much as the food, and honestly, both delivered.

It definitely has a kick, so beware if you're sensitive to spice, but it's so good. The queso fundido is another favorite and great for sharing. I've tried quite a few of the entrées over different visits. The Mexican paella was really good, the ancho chile roasted salmon is another standout, and the Pork & Chile Colorado Cazuela was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Definitely save room for dessert too. The butter cake was delicious, and the churros were just as good. Beyond the food, one of the biggest reasons to come here is the location. The outdoor patio has amazing views looking across the water toward downtown San Diego and makes the whole experience even better, especially around sunset.
