Rob and company are great. We had a move that was not a standard tract-home to tract-home move, it included heavy woodworking gear and even just old junk and car parts in the barn that sometimes required boxing up, and some livestock gear. They handled it all, nicely and professionally. This was right before Xmas 2020. Rob is very flexible and always willing to offer their services for anything you need to get settled in--not just moving furniture. If you need muscle, they can help out. The only thing I could ask for is: Our job was done in Dec 2020, before the vaccines started coming out. The masks are all on at the beginning of the job--which is great, but as the day wears on, they sometimes come off--when working outside. Not all, but some. (Inside was always OK--for mask-wearing). Until we all get vaccinated, would love to see them at least pop masks back on when the client approaches, when outside. read more

I hate moving! I've had to move cross country a couple of times and it is never easy. That's not until my family and I worked with Robicheaux Relocation. On my latest move we only moved 2 exits away to get closer to Cupertino, nonetheless having to pack our home of 12 years was the most daunting move my family and I had to make. It was so stressful! My husband and I called around, got referrals from our work and even contacted a company that was referred by my company's relocation team. In fact we already booked a mover, but I was still stressed and worried. No one was able to settle my mind the way Robert did. Rob Robicheaux cares about his own business! Talk about CUSTOMER SERVICE- When I canvassed for movers, Rob called me directly on the phone to speak to me. He offered to come over IN PERSON the next day in order to give me an honestly fair estimate. He broke down several options and thoroughly explained what's included: careful packaging, labeling, high-quality work, etc. He and his amazing co-pilot, Max, arrived on said moving day, having called me 30-mins and 10-mins out arrival time! They came with GREAT FRIENDLY ATTITUDES, ready to help me pack the rest and move twice in one day: once to a storage unit, off-loading half, and then to a new home from Redwood City to Danville. They were prepared: boxes, tape, packaging paper, dollies, tool kits for every possible scenario, ladders, towels, blankets, you name it. I had quite a lot of fragile items: antique furniture, TV, large vases, large & delicate wall pictures, antique lamps. This review is long overdue, and it is time I tell everyone what a great company, owner, and workers handled our move. Robert replied to my call within an hour. We set up the appt. to meet at our home so he could give us a moving estimate. He was prompt, very pleasant, and very thorough and fair in his estimate. We were moving 3 households into 1 and were on a timeline. There was so much packing to be done, and thought we had plenty of time however, he gave us a price for picking up and moving to our new home and a price to help us pack what we couldn't and then the move. We decided we could do it ourselves, so we signed the contract, set the dates for the move, and he left us with all the packing supplies we needed, and told us to give him a call if we needed help or more supplies. It came time that we were down to the wire and still had at least a qtr. of our house and all of the garage, shed, patio, and utility cabinets to pack. We called Robert and he came out with a crew, and they started packing right away. I thought we were packing carefully but watching them pack, put our packing to shame. They wrapped everything in paper, and bubble wrap, or plastic wrapped as needed. I had a lot of fine crystal and collectables, so being very odd shapes and pointed tips. They really knew how to pack them so they would withstand the move, and they all busted their backs to load our heavy furniture. It took them 2 days to get everything wrapped, packed, and loaded. Most of it was packed and marked by room very carefully in 2 huge trucks, floor to ceiling, front to back. The next morning, we headed out early for a new adventure to our new home. They arrived about an hour later and unloaded everything carefully right where we wanted them by room, or in one of the garages by room. They reassembled all furniture that had to be done. It took a full day of unloading to get it all unloaded. The following day, they went back to our old home and loaded up all the patio furniture, yard tools, and the numerous plants we have. Some of the plants are very delicate, large cactus that have been in the family over 100 yrs. They were padded, on a pedestal, and into a very large box so there was no chance of them tipping over or shifting. They arrived later that day and survived the move perfectly. So, 3 trucks later, and being stressed about it all getting to our new home without incident, we can honestly say, there wasn't one thing broken chipped, cracked or missing. We just finished our move today. I am exhausted, but the first thing I wanted to do after putting my kids to bed was to give this 5star review to Robert and his crew. We've hired a few different moving companies in the past, but the quality of service Robert's company offers is just unmatched. He was very responsive and helpful from the time I requested a quote, and he offered to come in for a free in-person estimate. He took pictures of each room/area and gave us a quote with itemized list so you know exactly how much you will be charged for what. He said he gives the worst case scenario, so there is no surprises at the end of the move. I appreciated this so much, because the last thing you want at the end of a stressful moving day is getting a bigger bill than you expected. (We ended up paying him almost $1,000 lower than the original quote!) He sent a confirmation the day before the move, gave us a 30 min courtesy call before showing up, and showed up exactly on time (do you know how rare this is for a moving company?!?) They were efficient, organized throughout the day and every team member worked really hard. They also packed most of our stuff because we were only able to pack our kitchen before they arrived (please don't judge... We had SO much stuff to move - it took them over 12 hours!) What I appreciated the most was how polite, patient and and laid back they were throughout the day. It definitely helped my husband and I get through the day without feeling stressed out. So, I recently had to move a baby grand piano... I found a beautiful one on Craigslist that someone was giving away, about 2 to 3 hours away in Santa Cruz, that would be perfect for my son... & thus begin our greatest challenge of the summer of 2019: finding a respectable moving company that would move a piano and give a shit and bring it from Santa Cruz to Napa for a decent pricwe. Man, this is really much harder than you would think... I went through Yelp of course and I put out a bid to multiple moving companies... Robert, the owner, was not only the first to respond, but he also gave straightforward pricing from the beginning and advised that it would probably be more money then I wanted to spend and advised that if I did want him to work with me, he would work out some sort of discount and he would be there for me in the future... So from the beginning, I was a bit shocked, but I thought to myself, "well damn, if that's the first response I get... I'm going to get way better ones and I'll be able to have more flexibility in negotiating a better price." Boy was I wrong... I got a bunch of people that said that Santa Cruz or Napa or both were out of their moving areas... Then I got a bunch of people who said that there would be a four to six hour minimum and a three to four person minimum and that the price would run me up to several hundred dollars more than what Robert was quoting me... Then I found people who said they could do it but came across super unprofessional where I had to chase them to return my call or they didn't tell me what a good day or time would be or how they were going to take care of my piano or make ANY indication that they would actually do a good job. So THAT was that, and I found myself back with Robert... I went back to him and told him I hadn't found anybody better and that even though he himself thought his price was high, I really like his vibe and wanted to work with him... The only hitch was that I needed him to come down a tiny bit on the price. He thoroughly and honestly explained to me his costs and his profit and we worked it out so that he did come down to meet me on the price and I in turn was flexible on when he could pick up the piano and when he could drop it off... It turns out I ended up having to wait 4 days Gor delivery which was nothing. He extremely well-packed it, he made the person he was picking it up from very happy, and he definitely impressed my wife and I when he showed up. He was a gentleman and an expert and informative from start to finish, he asked that I pay him half the money up front and half a pound delivery, the offered me the options is cash or Zelle of which I chose Zelle, emailed me an electronic contract for my review and signature/records, and he even helped move some other things that I had around my house... including a large shelving piece I needed moved from the front to the back of my house and took away a glass desk that I no longer needed... all for no extra charge. Along the way, he and his right hand man Max the mighty man, were cool as cucumbers and talked about their families and their recent moving trips and related shenanigans... Robert finally showed us pictures of his family on the way out and we were totally bought in: not only was this guy an awesome mover, but he also knew the business inside and out having previously worked for some big companies before starting his own, and he was a stand-up dude that could actually be a friend. Okay to start I feel like an ass-hat for not leaving a review the first time I used Robert! Shame on me. Anyway... I had such an amazing experience with Robert and his crew the first time he moved us that I reached out again when we were relocating from the Bay Area to Long Beach, just to see if he knew long-distance movers who were good that could get us down there. Well luckily for us, Robert does all kinds of relocations, including long-distance! He promptly scheduled an appointment to come to view our place, he showed up on time and was as polite and professional as always. We received our estimate the same day and again he was upfront about all of the charges and explained how he works on a flat rate - which was good to know considering gas prices and other factors involved in a long-distance move. We didn't want any surprises at the end! The guys showed up on moving day right on time and worked tirelessly to get us moved out quickly. The next day they were ready to go at our new place in Long Beach, bright and early, and got us all settled within a few hours. The payment was super easy as well now that he takes Zelle as a cash! I have moved alot in my lifetime and its always something I've dreaded. Knowing Robert and his team have my back seriously made both moves with them totally... boring. LOL. Robert and his team were great. First he did a free in home quote. Wasn't pushy, very transparent, suggested I get other quotes if I hadn't already. He emailed a quote later that day. The day of the move, they arrived did a quick walk through and were ready to go. I was still packing the morning of but they made it work. I figured I could do the packing of what was left while they started loading the truck. They could have done it for me but then that leaves me just standing around so figured I could keep busy. They were all very professional, nice & efficient. The time quoted came in under the original estimate which was definitely a positive. They were not standing around milking the clock. We have finally moved somewhere we plan on sticking around so hopefully we won't be needing his services anytime soon, but I highly recommend them! Robert and his team help me + my family move from CA to Oregon and I couldn't recommend him enough. He came up to my house prior and wrote up a very detailed (and fair) estimate and was in touch leading up to the move. On move day, we had them help with the packing as well, as that gave me time to focus on other last minute things. They also rolled in with various wardrobe boxes, packing materials and other items that made the move easy. The next day, he met us at our new house in Oregon and unloaded every box in the corresponding room, for easy unpacking. He even took some of the empty boxes and packing materials away, which helped us tremendously. Rob and his team are super hard workers and they really care about service and doing it right. They also moved my parents (and 40 years of their stuff) across California and they too had a great experience. The only slight hiccup I'd mention is to make sure you have the right amount and form of payment at the end of the move. Zelle was restrictive and we had to scramble to figure out how to pay him the outstanding balance. Not a big deal, but not what you want to deal with at the end of a long few days of moving.
