Reading this?? Turn around and RUN! Saves you some WTFs!! and a LONG READ! This is for Personal Medicine Inc. if people can't find the review since it's not listed as such. I gotten a Groupon deal for 2 sessions. Search for reviews and didn't find any yelp because I was looking for Personal Medicine Inc. I did find the website and read through it. What made me pick this was that it didn't look like the normal turn as many customers as possible type of joint so I decided to give it a try. Wrong thinking cuz, this place is an one man show type.. no service whatsoever. You will see, it's crazy hard to get an appointment. No phones answers.. no email reply. She'll make you fill out forms first, that's all she cares for. After weeks of trying to get an appointment, she says, you don't need an appointment. Seriously, what doctors office doesn't need an appointment?? . Appointment made, went in for my first session. Now this place is above the Wells Fargo building, tucked inside the 3rd floor. It's just a tiny office. Looks sketchy. Again, should have know to RUN! :) As what the other reviewer said, Robin really has no social or bed side manners. No hello? or an introduction? More of oh, you are here! I agree with the other reviewer that says that she really butts into your business, I can totally relate. So if you like people in your business, then you are really in for a treat! LOL Consultation runs a really long with lots of repetitive questions. Treatment time. I've gotten acupuncture before so I know what it's like. At this time, my brain is saying WTF?? but I'm trying to keep an open mind so I continue. I'll give her this.. she seems like she really wants to help but in a very weird way. So it starts, needles going in.. what seems like a lot of needles.. ok, no problem..everything all fine until she left me there as she said the session would last about 10-12 mins. At the same time, she got another client and they got talking.. wow, I could hear them and I mean, the conversation lasted I'd guess 25 mins, either way, it was a LONG time. I'm feeling all stiff now because I really don't want to move with all these needles in me... shes finally remembers that I'm still in there and came in to pull all the needles out. Once she's done, I get up to get dressed. I'm trying to put on my shirt and there's a needle stuck to my wrist... I'm like,, umm.. look??? I'm thinking in my head, you don't count how many needles you put in me and how many you take out? She then takes the needle out and didn't say.. oh.. sorry, I missed one.. nothing... Also, I'm barefooted and looked down, there are needles on the ground too. She goes..ooops, we don't want those on the ground.. yahh??? you think? So I'm dressed, and asked her, when should my next session be? She said, how about Thursday at noon. I said that's fine. Here comes Thursday. I get there at 11:55, tried the door.. what?? nobody is there?? Ok, maybe she's at lunch. Waited 5 more mins.. nobody there. Waited more and then decided to call her., answering service answers.. I said I have an appointment with Robin at noon and nobody is here. The answering service said wait a bit longer..and click... hangs up.. it's crazy, whatever answering service she uses is the most useless and rude answering service. So waited another 8 mins or so, and here she comes. AGAIN, no HI, sorry I'm late. Sorry that you had to wait.. nope, Nothing.. she opens the door and nothing. I walked in and still nothing from her. No manners and no apology. Ok, I stand there while she turns on the lights and get setup. She then turns around, so how's everything, I said, pretty good. She said how was the last treatment, I said I don't know because I felt good all week. Not much of a difference I can tell. She then goes crazy, as I call it. She said WHY ARE YOU DOING HERE THEN? I said cuz you told me to come today? She said your treatments won't just be 2 treatments as your Groupon, you need more, you know that right?? You need like 20 treatments. I said, well I like to try my 2 treatments that so I can gauge if it helps. She says, you need to know if you want to continue the treatments. I said well, if my insurance will help pay, yes, I like to continue. I said how much would it be with insurance? She then points at a tiny sign with her pricing on it and said the prices are there... very rude, why not just explain it? She says, it'll be about $1300, I said that's not chump change and that's why I want to try the 2 sessions I've paid for. She then said, why are you here then if know if you want continued treatment. At this time, I don't trust her anymore. All she cares about is money. I told her you are going about this all wrong, I understand this is a business and you need to sell but not in this RUDE manner. I said I don't want my 2nd treatment anymore and said thanks...and left. Hopefully this review will save you time and RUN NOW! read more

I found Robin by chance on a Groupon add. She has been God sent to me. I have had chronic neck/shoulder and mid back pain for a number of years. I've been going now for 3 weeks and after the 2nd treatment for the first time in over 10 years my mid back pain is almost gone. Robin is easy to talk to, she knows her stuff and what's wrong with you before you even speak. I now bring my 15 year old daughter and my husband. read more

BEWARE! I broke my hip a year ago and had a 2nd surgery earlier this year. I have been recovering fairly well, but have persistent lower back pain. After speaking to some of my friends I decided to try acupuncture. I located Personal Medicine, Inc. on the internet and it was close to my work and home so I decided to give it a try. I met with Robin Roemer-Brown and made an appointment. Prior to the beginning of the appointment I had a "consultation" ($95) where I filled out a document with personal information and my health problems. There was as short discussion and then I was ushered into the treatment room (another $95). The treatment went fine as far as I could tell, treatment was not a lot of pain and I did feel a small improvement the next day. I went to a second treatment ($95) the treatment was slightly more painful, but not unbearable, however I did not feel any improvement and in fact the pain was worse. I went for my third treatment a few days later and when I told Robin that I had more pain than before, she offered to sell me some medication that would help with my condition. Not knowing what type of medication she was suggesting I told her that I would take the information with me to my personal physician. I was really concerned that there may be interaction with other prescription drugs I take. I'm over 70 and am careful what medications I take. Robin told me that my doctor would not know what these were and that she was licensed to prescribe them and he was not. At this point I told her that I will not take any "prescription" that was not approved by my physician. She became quite argumentative and I told her that I was finished and I left the office. read more

Dr. Robin Roemer-Brown is an amazing acupuncturist in Huntington Beach. Dr. Brown took the time to assess my situation. I prefer not to share in details, but I can assure you that after one treatment, she alleviated the problem on my left side. This was my first experience with acupuncture and I did not know what to expect. I actually have an aversion to needles. I have to say Dr. Brown creates such a calming environment coupled with her peaceful demeanor that I didn't have any nervousness as I awaited my first treatment. She also allowed my body to recover at my own time. I'd have to thank her very much now that I can sleep better after this treatment. I highly recommend visiting Dr. Brown for acupuncture and I plan on visiting her for other issues. read more

My mother had pain on her elbow which was getting worse and worse. She had seen a physical therapist, a physician, and a chiropractor and nothing was really helping. I met Dr. Brown and heard curing chronic pain through accupuncture and chinese medicine was her specialty. So i set up an appointment for my mother and after the second appointment her elbow was starting to feel better. My mother is continuing to go and everytime she says its helping. I came here on a Groupon deal ... and what a super deal it was! I already received two sessions of acupuncture and cupping. Dr. Brown is really knowledgeable as an acupuncturist and overall nutritionist. She has been practicing since 1992. After two sessions my wrist, neck and back are feeling so much better. I have acute tightness and pain in my neck and upper back and Dr. Brown prescribed some specific herbs for me to take and this has also helped. She not only offers acupuncture but if you go to her website (http://personalmedicineinc.com/services.html) she offers overall whole body "personal" medicine. Dr. Roemer Brown was very kind to me. I met her via a Groupon and am so glad I did! I was in pain in my hips, shoulders and neck, and messages, medication and yoga hadn't worked. I got an appointment within 24 hours, and a 2nd appointment within 2days. The doctor listened to my concerns, and brought years of experience to my healing. About 15 years ago I met Dr. Robin Roemer -Brown. I had suddenly developed a problem with my neck/shoulder; it was very painful to turn my head. After a couple of weeks under the care of my primary care physician, using muscle relaxants and heat (no help), I decided to try acupuncture for the first time. My first visit to Robin included the most thorough intake I had ever experienced, questions addressing every facet of my general health. I then had a session lasting about one hour, and was amazed to find that after one treatment, my problem was about 85% resolved. This opened up a door for me, and thus began a casual relationship over the years, where I have visited occasionally for various issues, and always with remarkable outcomes. In 2013 I suffered two accidental falls, and the second left me with a torn rotator cuff (plus an exaggerated fear of falling and reinjuring myself.) The orthopedic surgeon insisted I needed a total shoulder replacement, which I refused to consider without trying acupuncture first (and eventually added some physical therapy.) My visits to Robin immediately resolved the pain, and began the process of rebuilding my mobility, balance, and confidence. I recovered fully without surgery or hospitalization. Although I have not needed her treatments in the recent past, she did recommend and supply me with the herbal diet supplement "Nousse-Aid" which boosts your immune system and is beneficial to overall health. I do not believe it is a coincidence that in the perhaps six years I have used this product, I have not had ONE single cold of any duration. Also, my annual physicals produce lab results that are optimal (cholesterol, blood sugar, etc) and I am quite sure the Nousse is at least partly responsible for that. She also helped my adult son with his rehabilitation following back surgery, and brought results that physical therapy had not. She is an excellent practitioner and a delightful human being. Horrible horrible experience here! This lady is nothing but a scam and even though your insurance pays for the service she still wants to charge you an office visit fee. I asked her how much it is and she wouldn't give me an answer. She said well how much is your co pay and I told her it was $0 because I have two insurances and whatever one doesn't pick up the other one does. She said okay but your insurance doesn't cover the office fee and i said I know that because you just told me but you aren't telling me how much the office fee is..when I asked you what the fee is you asked me what my co pay is.. She said well if you can't give me a number I'm going to have to charge you $90! Clearly, I gave her a number !!! It's $0. I asked her why she didn't tell me about this yesterday when I booked my appointment when I specifically said I only wanted the service if it was covered and she made my appointment so why wouldn't she tell me that no matter what insurance I have i still need to pay an office fee. On top of all of this drama she was looking over the paper work I filled out and she looks at my birthday and says "don't you think you're a little young to be pregnant" lady it is none of your business !!!! And no I don't feel to young because we are happy and have no problem caring for a child ! She needs to mind her own business and worry about her personal life and not mine. I was there for acupuncture not because I need a therapist. I grabbed all my paperwork and walked out the door. Beware of her "office visit fees" because she will say anything to you just so she can make a few extra bucks and she sure has no problem over stepping her boundaries and butting into your personal life. 24 may be too young to have a baby but I'm not too young to realize she has horrible business ethics and people skills. read more

I highly recommend Dr Robin. I have referred a handful of friends to her as well for treatment. Her cupping treatments and acupuncture are life changing. I am a skeptic and her treatment plans are perfection. She always carries SP supplements which are the best whole food supplements I have ever tried (and affordable). read more
