Paula was exceptional--she has a very calm, grounding energy but is incredibly strong and clearly understands how the body is meant to move. She used traditional Thai techniques, including back-walking and deep flexibility work, which made a huge difference. I booked an appointment here for a couples massage and when I got to the location, they sprung it on me that it would be $3 each person extra. I didn't understand the rationale why, plus there was no signage that said anything of the sort, nor was it mentioned on the telephone conversation. Highly doubt it costs $6 for their credit card processing fees. They are arbitrarily coming up with a random number and charging you that --with no rhyme or reason. The massage was mediocre. The woman asked if I wanted her to walk on my back, I said no, but then did so anyway. In addition, she was incredibly rough, on a scale of 1-10, it was an 8... and I have a very high pain threshold. Been here twice on a couples massage. The first time was very good, great pressure, thorough, walked on back, athletic stretching at the end. Overall relaxing experience. To the point where I would recommend people to stop by for a visit. Second time we went and got another couples massage and at the end I asked my girlfriend if the lady stretched her or what her experience was like. I think I got the lazy one people talked about. There was a clear distinction in consistency between massages. When comparing massages I did not get the same stretches, the massage felt lazy, rushed, and a bit painful and rough. She applied pressure on my shoulder joints, used her forearms in a rough manner and was digging her fingers into my eyes. I've gotten Thai massages before and this one was probably the laziest I've ever felt. I'm going to go with the benefit of the doubt that she was probably tired. I was in OC for the Thanksgiving weekend and needed a massage badly. I always had wanted to try Thai massage, so my friend and I booked an appointment with Panwa. The atmosphere and energy that greeted us when entering was very calm and pleasant. My massage therapist was Paula. I was very impressed with her dedication to her work. She was extremely focused and thorough and worked on almost every muscle in my body. Sometimes the pressure she used was a little much and I will have to tell her to take it a little more easy on me next time. My muscles were all very tense because I I had been under a great deal of stress and my body was in dire need of tender loving care. During the stretches Paula managed to make my spine crackle and pop, no chiropractor had ever managed to do that! I rarely write reviews... but this place really deserves it. I been going to PANWA for maybe about 3 years in total now, so Im careful when to write a review. I been to a few massage places and none of them are as good as this place. I was in the military (Marine Corps) and I never done a massage before in my life and never thought i would do it. So carrying a 90-100 lb pack all the time did mess up my back and made it incredibly stiff. After my military service, I noticed my back would be in pain or felt really stiff like I had no mobility. My current job is a lot of field work or outdoor work so I always carry heavy stuff and I also go hiking a lot with a pack, so my shoulders, upper back, and lower back is always in pain. I gone to a few massage places and a lot of them never really put any pressure or tried to remove my knotts, it was just touch and oil but it didn't do much for me. But after discovering this place, this is my go to massage place. They always do such a great job where my back is sore the next day! They are really kind and will also remind you to drink a lot of water to help with the soreness. The ladies are extremely nice, kind, and very professional, they never pressured me to tip them more because other massage places are sometimes rude about the tipping. It's sometimes scary or intimidating going to a massage place, but don't worry about this place it feels really welcoming here from all the massage therapists. Its hard to pick a favorite massage therapist since they all do a really good incredible job, but honestly you cant go wrong with any of them because this is the only massage place that has good consistent service and massage. Shirley and Erin are really nice and good at their job, they made me feel welcome and definitely helped with my back pain, so I hope they never leave the place, as long as they are there... they will get plently of business from me haha. All the massage therapist ladies are very experienced and they all know how to take out your knotts. When you 1st lay down, just tell any of them where it hurts like your shoulders or upper back or lower back, they will focus on massaging that part more and don't be afraid to if you want more pressure. Whenever I feel pain, all of them always asked if I am okay and if they wanted me to have them lighten the pressure. Some of the other massage places, sometimes the workers would be on their phone with 1 hand and massage with the other hand and not put any effort, but PANWA doesnt do that!!! Which i absolutely love. Everytime I been here, none of them were ever on their phones during a massage and I definitely love how professional they are. Currently my back is... really hard like bricks and they recommended me to come like once a week because 1 session wouldn't be enough to fix the problems of my back. All of the massage therapist are incredible at their job, just tell them where it hurts and if you want light pressure or heavy pressure. I have already spoken to a few of my friends that go hiking with me to try this place and also recommended some of my coworkers to come here.
