Was looking for a place to stop and eat on a different route that I took. I looked this up on Yelp and found out that they served chicken gyros so I decided I would stop services great when I called I had to see if they were still open the cashier was very friendly and helpful the food was delicious and to feed three people completely full it was $31 which is not bad at all considering that's what McDonald's charges nowadays. I also love the fact that their chicken gyro was on the spit not just diced up chicken breast if you're in the area it's definitely worth checking out. Good food we order there a lot! On the down side they get the orders wrong so check your food before driving home! I used to love this place! I ate here at least once a week as its pretty much down the block from my house... then Covid hit and they just haven't bounced back. I see they have staffing issues and I feel like they are trying but I have yet to get a good meal since 2020. And I used to go there mainly for the 24hr breakfast menu as well as the convenience but its gone and I fear so will this restaurant soon. I love gyros. This place has pretty good spiced lamb meat. Customer service at this spot lacks though. If you're looking for service with a smiIe I advise you to go elsewhere. I've been eating here for about a year and everything I've ever gotten it was pretty good!

Stopped by here on the way home from the airport. Visited the drive thru and the customer service was hasty. Cut us off before our order was quite finished and we had to tell her the additional items at the window. We had a medium sized order. I confirmed that she had heard we wanted the gyros plate (was gonna be shared) and she said she did. Upon arriving to our destination we found that we did not receive the gyros plate but just the normal sandwich, which is not enough to share. This was very disappointing. read more

I've come here for just about 10 years unfortunately I will have to cut ties with how unprofessional and argumentative the older woman working there treated me. I remained calm yet she screamed and yelled at me despite me telling her that the issue was no one's fault. She then interrupted my phone conversation and began yelling again which was uncalled for and extremely rude. I was also asked to 'calm down' by the co-owner despite the fact the that woman was the one yelling which played into the 'angry black woman' stereotype. This is an independent fast food place with a large range; if you want gyros, sandwiches, Polish or hot dogs, or ribs, you're covered. Ice cream and coffee-house style fancy cake also available (some with the original plastic dome packaging on them so you can read the ingredients). If you're a vegetarian, you're having the veggie sandwich, the grilled cheese or a Greek salad. I tried to order a gyro hold the meat and confused the person at the counter; ended up with the veggie sandwich (American and processed Swiss). I ordered it hold the American and hold the mayo; they got that half right. The "cheese poppers" are jalapenos filled with more processed cheese; they were obviously freshly fried but difficult to eat - I couldn't take a clean bite through the peppers. Perhaps with a knife and fork. My companions seemed happy with their food (ribs and a gyro) and the fries were good. Jerk of an owner, but at least the food is decent. They keep their old menu prices advertised online, and then when you get there the prices are jacked up at least $1.50 more. When brought to the owners attention, he said "what's the problem" and of course charged me the unadvertised new prices. Seriously, how hard is it to make a Corn Beef Sub with Mozzarella and pepperocini???? I've ordered this FOUR TIMES, and they have yet to get it right. This last time was the last straw. It had everything and NOTHING I asked for in it and all I wanted in it was TWO ingredients, sheesh. This one was extra oily, I ended up throwing it out. However, their gyros are fantastic and they really give you a lot. Not sure what Zante's has such low ratings but for a local restaurant that sells American type fare food, what more could you want? The food is pretty good, especially the ribs. The sauce is beyond tasty and my daughter frequently orders this dish. If you're looking for a Chicago styled hot dog in Hammond, this is the place to go. I live up the street from this restaurant and we frequent there often. The food is above average and for a decent price. Being across the street from Morton High School, it gets pretty busy during the late afternoon. During the early afternoon hours, construction workers frequent there but you don't have to wait too long for your food.
