So impressed by Rob's plumbing that I feel led to share my experience! Firstly, I prefer to patronize small, family run operations. Rob's plumbing is just that, personalized service, with know-how and knowledge. I found Rob on Ventura Craigslist, 2 years ago. I called so many different independent plumbers, where no one answers. just leave your voicemail. SORRY, that's strike one! I feel that to be successful in your own a business you better answer your phone! I am handicapped, and elderly, on a budget, and Rob provided quick, exceptional service, without exhorbitantly high charges. He was the 1st plumber to fix my toilet correctly...several plumbers have tried in the past. It was a slow running toilet, the kind you are afraid, will not take that extra piece of toilet paper, or a big meal, on the "out-load" after a full nights rest, lol. Others charged me out the wazoo, replaced parts in the tank, and one plumber even snaked it out, with no result. Rob, comes in, knows the problem, has the part in his truck and it's fixed in 7 minutes flat :). Maybe I'm just a target being an elderly, handicapped person, but I can't believe I was ripped off for services 3 times, that is, until I found Rob! The 3 most important faucets of life, with all my acquired wisdom are: 1.) a good tax preparer 2.) a good fair plumber 3.) a knowledgeable, reasonable, car mechanic. I will be a customer of Rob's for life. You don't find plumbers like him for such a small fee, and Rob is an engineer as well. I've told many folks of his services and they are amazed, (especially in our age group) of 65 to 75. After calling several plumbers, handymen and others to price replacement of my garbage disposal, I finally settled with Ron and am so glad I did. Rob showed up timely and prepared. Not only was his quote very reasonable, he asked me if I wanted him to buy the unit or if I would supply it. I asked him to buy it for convenience, only to find out that his price was at least $10 lower than what I would have paid at Home Depot, and he had a receipt to show for it. I mean, how many plumbers will do that for you? I was also most impressed with his high level of precision and professionalism as he approached the project. The best plumber i have ever used and highly recommend to all my family and friends he was not only very professional and respectful but he came right away to stop my home from getting anymore water damage from a pipe that bursted at midnight anf i had already called 2 other plumbing companies which they couldn't even give me a eta on when bthey could get to my home, im glad that the other companies were so unhelpful now because my 3rd n last call was to Rob and i couldnt have been any more satisfied with the job that was very well done by him. My toilet had been clogged for several days, after contacting several plumbers with no resolution to my clogged and smelly toilet, I was beginning to lose hope in my local plumbers. I hired Rob's Plumbing to come to my house to fix a leak under my patio which has pavers on it and look at my water heater which was leaking. He tore apart the pavers on my patio to get to the leak. He then said he didnt have the parts to fix it, so he said he would come back the next day with the parts which surprised me because I thought plumbers are supposed to come prepaired to fix pipes. He was probably not expecting it to turn into a 2 day job. He showed up the following morning and repaired the pipe. He said he was going to go get me a new water heater and would need to be paid to use the money for the water heater. He never returned, avoided all of my calls, and texts and then about a week later said he had been out of town on a family emergency which may or may not be true, but in the age of cell phones not communicating is NO EXCUSE. After telling him I was going to report him to the CSLB he said he would be back in town to re-set the bricks but then he changed his story and said it wasnt his reponsibility and would ave to be paid $85 an hour to come over and finish the job. He had another job scheduled but was able to fit me in and had my bath tub unclogged in 10mins! Friendly, honest, and upfront pricing with a great attitude. We had what appeared to be a leak under our slab and thought it would be a really messy and expensive repair. I found Rob through a Google search, and selected him based on his being a local small business. It is nice to work with someone who really knows his stuff!. He diagnosed the problem without opening the floor. He could have used an expensive leak detector but he said he has seen a lot of similar problems in our area and believed it was leaking from a service pipe in the wall. Ocean influence finally decomposed our plumbing roof top exhaust stacks. Not an emergency, but certainly needed correction before any additional rain. Contacted Rob through a referral from neighbor. Placed a call mid day and Rob was at my door 7:30 the next morning. Apparently is licensed to cover water faucets to septic tanks, and foundation plumbing repair. Work was performed on roof, along with completed repair came a battery of pictures, before and after, along with the rotted iron fixtures for my inspection. I discovered a gas leak on a Sunday afternoon. The gas company came out and shut off the gas and told me that I needed to get a plumber. I called seven plumbers listed on Yelp. Rob was the only one that answered the phone. He arrived within an hour, assessed the leak and got straight to work. He fixed the leak and even did a few repairs on some existing pipes that were old and faulty--at no extra cost. He was done in just a few hours and it was all at a very reasonable price. I still can't believe how quick and easy and painless the whole experience was. Rob fixed a leak we found, underneath *the concrete* in the yard, in under 5 hours. That included: jackhammer and chainsaw use (tree roots). He called us back at 10:00 pm (we found the leak and texted at 9 pm) and kept his word about fixing it the next day. Ad read thank you Santa Barbara for supporting our small local plumbing. So I called with the impression he was in S.B. county. Which I found out later that day he is not. Cancelled appointment, contacted craigslist to let them know also. Honestly how could I trust him after that. So then I checked with the BBB, has had 6 complaints filed, his business is also not credited by the BBB. So I contacted the BBB asking why he had an A rating? I contacted 6 different local plumbers yesterday evening (Saturday). Rob is the only plumber responded. He was working on a job past 10 pm on Saturday night! I thought I need to replace the water heater. He asked me if the unit was leaking. I said "no". He said I did not need to replace the unit. Maybe replacing some part was needed at substantially less cost, including parts and labor. This morning, he came over and fixed the problem in 5 minutes. Rob is a life saver!! Yesterday being a rainy Saturday and day before I hosted my daughter-In-Law's baby shower, the shower, sink and toilet in my guest bathroom all started to back up. When the officer called Robs plumbing from my front driveway and told him to cease and desist the destruction of my property which the note indicated was true, Rob agreed to stop hasseling me or destroying anymore property and did not deny his complicity. I did not go after his license for fear he might do much worse since he had already proved to be an unstable and potentially violent person and now after this public exposure I guess I should disclose this information to the contractors board. I have a rental unit in Camarillo but live in L.A. My tenant was complaining of a stopped up sink that our "handyman" was unable to unclog. I found Rob on Craigslist, contacted him and let him know the problem and that I needed it fixed the same day. When I called him, he was on another job but agreed to go to my rental unit at 7:00 pm to see what he could do. He was able to snake the pipes and fix the problem. Wow!! I live in an old home where I've already had a few slab leans and the other day I had another slab leak that was ruining the foundation of my home so I knew I needed to find a plumber that performs quality work, but at a reasonable price.
