Sad little black plastic plates. The food looked very unappetising. The fruit looked old. Some kind of apples chopped up in mayonnaise? Dry turkey and chicken . The salad bar was a little more appealing. The server was very nice. An employee was cleaning the toilets wearing a fleece jacket I then saw her filling buffet items wearing the same jacket. While our server was pleasant, the service was very slow given the number of diners in the restaurant. I ordered a grilled chicken salad. The portion was large, but half of the salad greens were not edible...past their prime. My dining partner had a burger with green beans. The burger was okay but the green beans were well overcooked. The shining moment for Rob's were the cheese curds...they were tasty. Would not recommend stopping here. read more

Being in business myself, I thought I had a good idea what the protocol would be for service recovery. I asked an individual I know that owned eight Wendy's restaurants. As I suspected the situation, first address the situation immediately. second invoke if necessary, emergency medical services. Then complete an incident report, then do immediate service recovery. Follow up with the injured-party, address the situation. Service recovery was not done and, as I stated before follow up was not done. I wasn't even asked if medical treatment was done, advised or completed. According to the former owner of eight Wendy's restaurants, immediate service recovery would be to have comped the meals, further service recovery would've been to offer a gift card for future meals, and then follow up at some point in time with how the injury was healing, none of this was done read more

I have been to Rob's many times over the years and the food was okay and the service was good. Yesterday we couldn't decide where we wanted to eat and we decided to try Rob's since they have new owners. That was a mistake, the food wasn't good, the chicken was all dried out and the dinner rolls were like eating a dough ball. The tables were dirty as was the floor with crumbs all over the place. Once we placed our drink order we couldn't get the server's attention to get a refill because she was too busy working in the kitchen preparing meals for other people. We never got a refill or bill. So we finally walked up to the register and paid my bill and left. I will never be back and wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Stopped here last night for dinner. Excellent and friendly service. Food selection not huge but enough to choose from. Food was hot and fresh except for the fried chicken. That seems to have been there for awhile. For what they charge I was satisfied and full. Will definitely come here again when working in the area, the only options were drive through or drive several miles. After twelve hours on the road, the night clerk at the Parkview Drive Holiday Inn immediately suggested a pizza from Rob's when we asked about delivery options in the neighborhood - and we're so glad she did! After a quick phone call, our Deluxe 16'' pizza arrived a mere 20 minutes later, loaded with a mountain of pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions and green peppers. The pizza was piping hot and tasted amazingly fresh. The crust had a perfectly charred bottom and featured a perfect crunch-to-chew ratio. For just $16.95, it easily surpassed many of the south side pizzas we seek out in our hometown of Chicago. Well done, Rob's!!! read more

Let me start with i love this place .. I have eaten here several times. i have dealt with other waitresses and other staff and was treated like family.. I have had good experiences with Alex and Sunshine just to mention a couple . I was at this restaurant eating on 10-18-24 and the hostess was seating 4 people and she told them here's your table and they asked nicely if they could sit elsewhere in a booth due to a bad back and the hostess huffed and puffed and threw the menus down with massive attitude. the guest then apologized for upset her which in return she scoffed no its not that we have a rotation!( this was in a rude (very rude) tone. As she walked away the guests at the table who are still in awe of what just occurred collectively decided to leave and go to Texas Roadhouse!! I'm sure as the hostess she is affecting someone's money by starting their experience this way. I am a customer service manager and i would be irate to lose customers due to an arrogant snotty waitress. Crazy how packed this place is! And for the price, you can't beat it! $6.99 for the senior buffet. No, I'm not that old, but when everyone else in the joint shares my hair color, I'll take it. Excellent salad bar, hot buffet and desert bar. The wait staff is very fast and friendly. Hot buffet included fried chicken, beef strokenoff, fried shrimp, real mashed potatoes, turkey, stuffing and an assortment of veggies. Guy sitting next to me had a hat with the picture of Alaska on it that said 'Sorry bout that Texas'. I told him I liked his hat and he asked me if I knew what it meant? You have school cafeteria food, hospital food, nursing home food, MREs, and then you have Rob's. Tried this place for the first time tonight because some older friends wanted to meet there and swore it was good. I didn't think to check reviews or suggest somewhere else because hey new place. When you watch Kitchen Nightmares this is the kind of place Gordon Ramsey is talking about. Rob's is like a Golden Corral that gave up on life. It's $18.95 for a buffet 1/4th the size of Golden Corral and a coke. There is absolutely NOTHING labeled on the buffet. Even Frisches labels and they're awful. Their mashed potatoes are definitely instant and bland. Their pot roast is overcooked and dry. The gravy I wouldn't touch because it was so clumped you could probably throw it at a window and break it with it. The Mac and cheese was also boxed but had zero flavor of noodles or even a taste of cheese. The salad bar was okay but not labeled either and the fruit flies hovering over the bar would fight you for the food. The best thing there were the rolls and butter and that's mostly what I filled up on for $16. The restaurant doesn't look like it's been updated since 1980 and been ignored. The carpet is threads. The tile floors worn. About as cozy of an atmosphere as sitting on a cactus. The server was very nice and the only positive about the place. When checking out and asked how my food was, and I said disappointing and not good, the cashier ignored what I said and just gave me my total. If sadness had a flavor it would be this place. I'll never be back at all. For that price I could've gotten a decent steak and not played a game of has a healthy inspector been here recently...... This is where you go if you're 65 and up and your taste buds can't distinguish what food tastes like anymore. read more

The only reason I was there was because it was my grandma's 96th birthday and her side of the family likes to get together twice a year to celebrate her and her sister's birthdays there. I guess it's because my grandma's sister lives in Englewood, and it's pretty close. I was there because I was my grandma's ride from Cincinnati. The family had reserved a table, and our server did a pretty fair job keeping up with drink orders. The girl who was seating people seemed like she didn't want to be there. The food presentation was okay, but there were a few items I couldn't even identify. Labels might have helped. The food taste, well, was pretty bad. Everything looked like institutional food from a vendor...the mashed potatoes were completely nasty, the stuffing was just a flavorless goo, the green beans had no flavor either. The turkey was dry. I pretty much had to make it through on fried items and a slice of unremarkable pizza. The only good thing is that Rob's was patient enough to allow us to stay for 3 1/2 hours for the birthday celebration. But I stepped outside and saw signs telling smokers not to throw "cigaretts" into the mulch, because it would burn. I guess that inattention to detail kind of says it all about Rob's. Sadly, I'll have to go here in April for my grandma's sister's birthday. FYI...I NEVER write reviews about places. This is how much I disliked Rob's. read more

IMHO, this buffet is better than Lady & Sons. Small town place with lots of space. My kids said the place could have been a little cleaner, I was focused on the food. No one cleans off the high chairs anywhere; maybe a little extra attention please. There was a salad bar with plenty of items if that's all you wanted. Then there was a hot bar with basically Thanksgiving dinner, a giant pile of a round roast as pot roast, and plenty of kid friendly selections. Prices seemed very reasonable and the service was very prompt. Take the Brookville exit off of I-70 and head south to get here. read more

I was out at the campground, thinking of what I'd really like for breakfast other than the breakfast bars I brought. Bacon was hitting my mind hard. That's all I could think about. I decided to check yelp for something to eat since I thought all there was around me was secluded farmland. To my surprise just two miles away was a breakfast buffet for just $6.44! Jackpot! All the bacon I want! I like this place is not a chain. Plenty of room, plenty of staff and very clean. Bacon, eggs, mush, French toast, pancakes, sausage, hashbrowns, waffles (very bland, no flavor what's so ever) and a fruit bar. The staff was so nice friendly and helpful. What a great place and a very nice surprise. I'd visit again for lunch or dinner buffet of it didn't take a couple hours of driving. On my way out I noticed the Mac and cheese and the Alfredo. We are nuts about the breakfast buffet here. The fruit is always fresh, and the coffee is hot and strong. I could eat a pan of their bacon all by myself; it's nice and crisp, but never burned. And you can get your eggs made to order. The waitstaff are personable and attentive. The first time we ate there, we had a very tall, courteous young man wait on our table. Several weeks later, we returned, and he remembered what my son had eaten the time before! Who even does that anymore? We'll be back, often. read more

I heard a kid at the table next to me say "the only way to get better ribs is to get Gordon Ramsey" so the ribs must be really good. The ice cream is really creamy and thick. My niece now has 4 children under 4 after recently having twins. I ordered a Family meal for 4 online and picked it up yesterday and took it to them. It was a FEAST! The ordering process was quick and easy and they were packaging it when I arrived. It's supposed to feed 4 but it would easily feed 6. Everything was hot and packed well. They even carried it to my car. My niece and her family were so appreciative of the delicious food. And it's a wonderful deal for $39.99. I will definitely be doing this again. read more
