AMAZING pizza! I had Roc-A-Fellas for the first time in years, recently. I forgot how much I enjoyed their pizza. I hate that I had to use a 3rd party service for delivery, which is what made my overall cost ridiculous. Their actual prices are very reasonable. I wasn't able to get into the actual restaurant, but the last time I was there, it had the local pizza joint vibe. I'd like to go in again because you can get pizza by the slice, which is great for me because I don't necessarily want a whole pizza some days. Do yourself a favor and order/visit ROC-A-Fellas. In Cincinnati for a work trip and went looking for some local cuisine. Now, I've been on a bit of a restrictive diet, but that goes out the window when you travel, right? This place screams, "you on a diet? Not anymore!!!" and it is ABSOLUTELY worth the cheat meal(s). No sir, this is bona fide New York style pizza - huge thin slices that you can (and should) fold over to make a super satisfying "sandwich" of pizza. Yes, it's greasy. Yes, it's big portions. Yes, it's how pizza should be. With a bit of jet lag and not eating much at all yesterday thanks to travel time, I was STARVING when lunch time rolled around. I wound up getting 3 slices to take back to my hotel room - a slice each of pepperoni and cheese, and a stuffed pizza. First, the two slices of pepperoni and cheese were enough to slay that appetite. Keep in mind, these are two LARGE slices. While thin, they're still very substantial. I'm now looking at the third (stuffed) slice longingly, thinking "maybe for dinner?" Now, I want to touch on the pizza place itself. Great little spot, maybe a little hard to spot if GPS isn't being kind, but it looks and feels like a pizza place should. Cases with the various offerings so you can see and select. Soda fountain with numerous options as well as a cooler if you want something bottled instead. Blackboard on the wall for art and current specials. And decorated for the season (in this case, Halloween). Everything about this place screamed yes to me. As for the staff, the chef was there when I walked in. Very friendly, personable, made me feel right at home despite me obviously looking and feeling pretty lost. Bottom line - try this place! I'm now looking for more excuses to be here in Cincinnati so I can try it again. This pizza spot is one of our favorites on top of having a great pizza. We are a huge fan of their calzone. The staff is always so friendly, especially to my toddler who can sometimes have a hard time staying in a seat very casual family owned pizza shop makes it one of our favorites to go to because we know we're going to be treated. Had heard some good things about this place, so we finally gave it a try because they sell slices. They are NY style pizza, and they had a choice of 6 different slices. I had 3 slices--cheese, deluxe and supreme. All were great. That was enough to fill me up for not a lot of money. Plenty of parking. Friendly counter people. We ordered out several pizzas while we were moving into our new home. It was recommended by our daughter, but when I walked in I was a little concerned. It says New York style pizza, and the crust on NY pizza where we came from was not so good. The staff couldn't have been nicer, so that made me a little more relaxed. When I got home with the pizzas, everyone raved. They were that good! I had read another review where they complained about no taste. Really? Ours was full of flavor, no salt needed. In fact I picked up some Parmesan cheese and pepper flakes just in case. Those went to waste. We found our Cinci pizza place! Thanks guys! read more

No complaints - the staff was completely on point, super personable, and seemed genuine when we walked in. Any time we visit a new pizza place, we always order a pepperoni pizza. My thought is, you can always gauge a restaurant by their ability to produce a quality pepperoni pizza. Roc-A-Fellas makes a decent pepperoni pizza. We ate outside, and they brought us a piping hot pizza. The sauce was okay, and the pepperoni was good quality. The pizza you see pictured below plus two side salads was less than $20, so it's a decent value, too. This is genuinely good "New York Style Pizza". I always try a new pizza place bare bones style, with a simple cheese pizza. The crust was very tasty, obviously made fresh on site and had a nice buttery crunch to it. Pricing was decent, $12.99 for a 14 inch which is 2 meals for me. My online order was ready on time, and what I really appreciate is that they let me have pizza sauce cups (as many as I wanted within reason) for crust dipping without nickel and diming me for them. That factor alone pushed me to put a 5 star vs 4 star. The pie was high quality and tasty but to be honest I'm more of a Chicago or Detroit style pizza guy. I can't dock them for that though, as they specialize in New York Style pizza, and it was darn good New York Style pizza. They have pre made slices available for convenience but if you value freshness I'd recommend ordering ahead like I did. read more

This place was good. Was it great? I don't know. We went in there and got hot and ready slices at 2p.m. The slices weren't that hot. We of course tried the Bronx bomber and it was good. It's a meat lasagna pie. It was heavy, greasy, and lacked a ton of flavor but it was tasty. Could I eat more than 1 slice? Absolutely not. I will for sure go back. This is a 2.5 star review. Marked down 1-star because they got my order wrong. I ordered their "specialty, 2 crust pizza pie." They prepared a regular olde pizza; no top crust. A friend has been bragging about their 2-crust pie - top & bottom crust. Insisted that the next time I visit Cincinnati, I must order this pie. Sounds interesting and vaguely reminiscient of Bacino's (Chicago) pies. Staffer told me the mistake was mine ... that I should've ordered the "Bomber." Meh. On the great quest to find proper pizza in this barren area of the country, Roc-A-Fellas isn't going to make a mark. Don't get me wrong, we have great, even amazing, food round these parts. We just don't have great pizza (few and far between - see Fratellis in west Chester, Tony's in Mason, Brooklyn P&P in Montgomery). I was hopeful for this one. Our summary: Ordered a traditional (18") pie with black olive and beef because they don't have meatball (a red flag, maybe?), A large (14") philly cheese steak (to see what they might do in that arena of specialty midwesterness pop pizza flavors), and a large sausage pepp extra cheese for the husband who thinks we are nuts and could care less as long as the pie hasn't had a vegetable waved nearby. The traditional meat and black olive pizza needed more toppings and some better distribution. It was a tad light on the handles; could've used a few more minutes in the oven (actual ovens, always a good sign!) The philly pizza was weirdly sweet from the giant chunks of garlic and red onion and maybe a bit if the sauce was sweetish. It was generally blander than would have made it good. Don't know about the sausage pepp because he's eating it tomorrow ‍ Now the weirdest part - The crust has little to no flavor in its own right. It may need salt or something... or maybe it didn't rise well? It was just very bland. My dining buddy (Mom) even mentioned that it might be a bit past it's prime. Also, this will sound odd, but the pizza needed salt! Now I'm not saying it should be salty. But it does need to be seasoned at some point. The sauce needed a touch, the crust needed a touch... even the cheese wasn't savory; it was just blah. I was so disappointed in our pizzas. It honestly made me so sad. It was way better than the chains, but it really fell flat for us. Maybe we'll try it in another year or so with hopes that it's better. I'll update if that happens. read more

Good first experience. Got a pepperoni mushroom onion on the five cheese blend pizza. Really delicious - The hint of garlic butter on the crust is awesome. Like all good New York pizza, the first very hot slice was the best. Also got the house salad - fresh and generous with toppings, but unless I missed it or didn't know to ask, I didn't get croutons which sort of makes a good salad for me. Small place tucked away. These are the places you find the best stuff. Myself and a few freinds have been wating to try the 8 pound monster Bronx Bomber for the longest of time. I saw the place on tv and it became a must hit. We ordered our Bronx Bomber and it's is a true PIZZA PIE, which is filled with cheese, sauce, pepperoni, ham, bacon, sausage. We also had a couple of slices of pizza too for my kids. The pie came out, huge and smelled great! It was hot though and through, the crust was also just right(not to crispy & not at all doughy) as well. The taste was out of the world, it really was perfect, the sauce is amazing . The slices of the New York style pizza were equally as good with a thin an foldable crust with a tangy sauce an just the right amount of cheese. Its a 30 min drive from Kentucky, it was well worth the trip. read more

This place is an absolute joke. We decided to try it because it has great ratings on Google - that was our first mistake. This place has absolutely terrible customer service. If I could give this zero stars I would. We ordered pizza online at 7:20. Estimated time said it would be ready for pick up at 8:22. We arrived early 7:45 to be exact and my husband went to check to see if maybe it was ready because they were not busy. We watch numerous people walk in and order on the spot, the employees made their pizzas before ours!! They put our pizza in the oven at 8:16. I am stunned. I have eaten here several times and keep forgetting to post a review or even check in while here. This is some of the best pizza around, normally I just get a Pepperoni pizza and some garlic knots, today I got the Deluxe and all I can say is I have found my new favorite pizza. I am not normally a thin crust person, but with all the great flavors of the toppings and the cheese and sauce I can deal with a thinner crust, they have the Bronx Bomber for if you want a thinker crust and a whole lot more pizza. Their Garlic Knots or Garlic bread is very good as well. Walk up to the counter and order what you want, by the slice or by the whole pizza. Make sure to get a frequent pizza buyers card so you can get a free one in only 9 visits or less depending on how many you buy. Today I had a buy one get one coupon and so I had lunch with a friend and will have the second at home for dinner or maybe lunch tomorrow. I was taken to Roc-A-Fellas for dinner today, and had an OK experience. The garlic knots had a nice dough, and were well baked, but had absolutely no garlic flavor to them. The marinara sauce for dipping them was acceptable, but nothing special. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, because that is my favorite, and I found it acceptable, but no better than that. The crust was doughy, with no crispness to it. It seemed a little underdone, although I think that was just an impression because of the doughiness of it. The sauce was OK, and there was a good amount of cheese, but the weakly flavored pepperoni wasn't very plentiful, and was sliced very thin. If I'm taken there again, I won't refuse, but I will never go back on my own, especially since Strong's Brick Oven Pizza is not too far down the road. read more

There were 4 of us and we didn't finish. The good: the crust was amazing, perfect blend garlic and butter, sauce was good. The so-so: they use cheap toppings the ham was the little itty bitty pieces of chopped up ham cheese was meh. Inside is.
