I'm a little shy to say that I had never had pizza in New York prior to now. I don't know whether it was the heightened expectation or whether Brooklyn pizza isn't the same as Manhattan pizza, or what, but this was just okay. It was a cheese pie and tasted like any pizza I could get anywhere else on the East Coast, even after I doctored it up with some spices. This is a solid slice joint. Good ratio of sauce and cheese, not too greasy. They recently redid the interior, but not a ton of room to sit inside, so take your slices home or to the park. Crust never stale. Staff consistent and friendly, I'm glad to have this option in the neighborhood. read more

Solid slice. I'm a fan of saucier pizza and there's tends to be lighter on sauce, heavy on cheese. They do add extra sauce to their bacon and pepperoni slice and that would be my top pick. One slice of bacon and pepperoni and one plain slice comes to a little over $8, so I agree with some other reviews that it's on the pricey side, but then rhe cost of everything is going up now. I will say the bacon and pepperoni are good quality, I especially like that they use the little pepperoni that curls up into a bowl shape to hold all that juicy pizza grease. read more

So, I'm staying in Brooklyn during my visit to New York, and spent all day in meetings. Rocco's Pizza is around the corner, so it was an option. And who doesn't like authentic NY pizza. First, customer service is impeccable. I asked how long the slices had been sitting there, and since the employee realized it may have been a while, she offered to make me two fresh slices. SHE. OFFERED. And I am grateful. The place was busy with orders from Door Dash, Uber Eats, but they were efficient at balancing it all. And you could tell they wanted to ensure that their customers got great pizza while it was hot! Alright, now what did the pizza taste like.... I had the pepperoni and bacon Pizza. I loved the large slices and abundant toppings. And since it was fresh and hot, it was delicious! It was greasy enough to make you feel vacation-decadent but not so much that you hate yourself in the morning. I've been living in this neighborhood for 20+ years Rocco's pizza used to be the best. I ordered 2 slices yesterday and they were both terrible. Barely sauce and hardly any cheese. It felt like eating dough only...I don't know who's running this place now now but something is not right maybe the workers are saving sauce and cheese for themselves...horrible horrible nothing like it used to be. Ordered grandma's original and the vegetable supreme for my brother who moved out of the city and missed New York-style pizza. Both pies were amazing. The tomato sauce on the grandma tasted fresh and homemade (not tart and acidic like the sauces on cheap pies) and the vegetables were fresh and fully loaded. I also find Roccos charming (my Brooklyn-born bias growing up near Bensonhurst) because the family members were running the shop when I came to pick up my pies.
