Writing a second review because I have more experience trying other NYC pizzas! Also shoutout to Ruby, my new friend from Roma's. I always see her interacting with other customers with the biggest smile on her face, and I love seeing her when I go! Ruby, you rock!! So I was sharply corrected by two locals that Mimi's Pizza was superior to Roma's, so I had to officially test that theory. While the crust is pretty much the same in both restaurants, the biggest difference I found was in the flavor. I tried a Roma and a Mimi's Sicilian pepperoni slice back to back and Roma's pepperoni had more of a spicy kick. Their sauce is also a little bit sweeter, which is a great offset to the spicy pepperoni. Overall? Roma's wins for a more interesting flavor combo! They also offer like, four kinds of cheesecake. I mean, come on. I guess I'll have to compare, like, ALL of Roma's and Mimi's other flavors just to be sure, though. I hate it when that happens. read more

We had two great slices, ready within 4 minutes and perfect classic nyc slice, we saw pastas coming out and they all looked excellent! Im addicted to their slices and chicken parm hero's!! I can't make up my mind, which is my favorite. The salads here are great if you're on a diet!! My friend got a pasta dish and they loved it. I forgot how good the food is here. They really hooked us up with a beautiful meal, stopping for pizza or pasta salads. It's always simple and fast. The price is a good too!! read more

When I was in pre-school Roma pizza was my preferred choice in the neighborhood but I have to admit I really haven't been here since I was in the single digits age-wise. The place looks mostly the same though, classic pizza parlor booths but now with a bizarre photo wall of literally random celebrities and mafiosos that have zero connection to the restaurant other than I guess, hopes and dreams? A misguided sense of style? There used to be two tile mosaics of like Sicily and Rome, but a massive mirror now covers the other side of the place. I presume they're under new or arm's-length ownership since the early '90s, because the general vibe has gone from grumpy Italian guys to like pleasant dudes just doin' a job. The pizza, however, is still pretty solid. There's a whole other menu here but I doubt I'll ever get to it, I'm just here for a classic New York slice and a cup of coke. For that, I'd happily come back if I'm ever in the area. For COVID they have half the place roped off, and a prime booth right by the open door for some quick quasi-indoor shove-a-pizza-in-your-mouth-and-go dining. read more

Very disappointing, unsure if there is a new cook but the only thing good I can say about the grandma slices I ordered was the crust - the sauce, too sweet and too thick- as if they use the same sauce for all they cook, not good. Do you want some pizza with your grease? Like, holy shit, I'm from New York and I know a Brooklyn slice joint when I see one, but even this was excessive. The thin grandma slice left a half plate of oil on my plate. It didn't even have pepperoni or anything! I did also have a regular plain slice, that was only slightly better. But it lacked structural integrity and the cheese just leaked everywhere. Not exactly good for grabbing and going. Also of curious note - their wall has some autographed celebrity photos, but most of them are just pretty female celebs without any context or autographs. My partner and I just got delivery from this joint. We meant to order half BBQ chicken, half pepperoni pie. Instead, we accidentally ordered a full BBQ chicken pizza with a half side of pepperoni on top of the chicken. Normally upon opening a pizza pie box, I get really excited like anyone else would. When I opened Roma's pizza box, I was kind of grossed out seeing as how it was basically a pizza drenched with BBQ sauce, small pieces of chicken, and a crap ton of ranch sauce in a spiral. Upon actually trying to lift the pizza to a plate, the sauce/toppings started sliding off - already a horrible start. First bite of the pizza, I actually had to spit it out. It was *so* salty with the smothering of BBQ and ranch. Dough was soggy. I'm from NY and have never spit out a piece of pizza in my life. I tried to pick off a piece of pepperoni, but that itself was extremely salty. While my partner was okay to eat a couple slices, he admitted it wasn't good and we ended up throwing the rest of the pie out *cries*. Seriously hands down one of the best pizza joints in NYC that is definitely not even recognized as one of the top in the borough. All you need to know is to order the Fresh Mozzarella pizza, and if you're looking for an additional selection, go for the Grandma pizza. Roma's Fresh Mozzarella is not your typical pizza that everyone is familiar with - none of the greasy, overwhelmingly cheesy kind. Roma's has a sweet tomato sauce with mozzarella intertwined just about right so that it creates a perfect balance between sweetness and savory along with he right consistency and texture. Nor is the crust too thick or thin. Honestly hard to describe the flavor in words - all I can say is wow I want more of that! read more

Whoa. Probably the best pizza I've had in the entire city. I'm not sure of the name of the type of slice I just ate, but it was heavy on their flavorful, non-oily sauce and it had just the right amount of fresh mozzarella and delicate mushrooms. There was no grease whatsoever. The crust was tender and crispy at the same time. I live about ten seconds from this place and I have for six years, yet I never tried it until today because I'm almost impossible to please and I sort of gave up on being a content pizzaficionado. This is the pizza joint that everyone would be lucky to have in their neighborhood, and it's probably not too different from the one you have in yours (which is why most of us are pretty lucky to be living in Brooklyn). None of the $16-for-a-gourmet-pie-you-can-only-order-whole-that-will-only-serve-one-person nonsense.* This is a local place built on slices sold, and pies delivered. It's not particularly mind-blowing, but this is New York pizza, and it's definitely good. They've got a quick slice if you want it, and they'll deliver their stellar fresh mozzarella pie pretty much anywhere in the Slope for when you need to keep a party going. The meat-lovers' pie (or whatever they call it) has more sausage and pepperoni than anyone really needs but I always want, and the grandma isn't bad either. Wow, I will definitely be back here! I'd already walked past this place like 20 times while heading into Park Slope, but tonight was the night I was heading to do my laundry with only a $20 bill on hand... Enter Roma Pizzeria to the rescue!!! The owner told me that he had just taken a cheese pizza straight out of the oven, but all that lovely mozzarella on the Fresh Mozzarella pizza was staring me down. I got my slice for $3 and it was pretty filling (very satiating snack or, in my case, the first half of dinner! lol). Oh, and it was deicious! I am a total sauce whore, so I loved that they put a lot of it and that it had a slight sweetness to it... and of course, the mozzarella was awesome! Sure, the pizza had been re-heated in the oven but... hey, can't you all see it sitting there? I don't think it's fair to complain about pizza being re-heated when you can see it sitting on the counter right in front of you and you therefore KNOW it's not fresh straight out of the oven. I mean, I guess they could serve it to you room-temp, but I prefer to have mine heated up in the oven!! :) I'll be back again (soon haha) and will be sure to snap some pictures, since there are only 2 on the profile right now! One of my favorite slices/pies in NYC. Top five, dead or alive. You MUST try the 'fresh mozzarella' and/or 'grandma' pies. The sauce definitely separates this pie from most others. Plus they offer calzones, patties, heroes, etc. They are CASH ONLY, so bring cash (though there are tons of banks/ATMs in the area in case you forgot). read more

Probably one of the top 3 slice joints in the Slope. Especially solid at the simple pies (grandma, margarita, etc) and if you are a lover of sauce (they are quite generous). And if you want protein, they have the most meat-laden slice I've found in BK. It's got 4 different meats and just one is a meal. worst pizza, even worse staff, in all of new york, maybe even the entire east coast. cant even get my order right. when i called to let them know there are errors in my order, they told me 'we're closed. we'll take care of you next time!' if you can't get my order right the first time, and refuse to correct your error, why the hell would there be a next time? why would anybody give you a 2nd opportunity to ruin dinner for a group of people? unreal. they got the toppings wrong on the pizza and a salad with no dressing. and the grease. theres so much grease, it soaked through the box and onto the table. why so greasy? never in my miserable life will i ever waste a penny on these incompentent and inconsiderate jackasses. i will be contacting my bank to reverse the charge. the last thing i want to do is support a restaurant that doesnt care about how their customers feel. we tossed the salad and half the greasy pizza. what a complete waste. if you choose to eat here, good luck on getting exactly what you ordered. read more

My favorite pizza joint in Park Slope!! This has been my go-to place for a quick and easy Italian comfort meal on late nights or lazy days. I love all their slices-fresh mozzarella, plain cheese, pepperoni... And, I love their non-pizza items as well. Their pastas (penne vodka) are to die for, and their meatballs with spaghetti are really good too! I am also a huge fan of their calamari and garlic rolls. What depicts this place a little better than the other places are the friendly staff here. Every worker here is so nice and have been working here for many years. I've been stopping here about 3 years now and the taste is the same. Pizza is greasy period so I take napkins and press it on my pizza to absorb the grease. Sadly, the quality of their food and service has gone downhill. I don't know exactly when this happened as I was away for a few years, but upon my return have come back here a few times in the past year and the pizza is just awful, tasteless cardboard kept coming to mind as I was trying to eat their regular slice. After this past Thursday when I stopped in at lunchtime for a few slices that were bland at best (you can get better frozen pizza at a relative fraction of the cost) I finally accepted the fact that the former quality of pizza was long gone. My fave pizza shop, hands down. When I'm in Brooklyn I stay at a brownstone that's about a five minute walk from this place. Not only do they have the best slices hands down, they also have a variety of pastas and salads. A pretty extensive menu. I always come in and order food but today I placed an order on grub hub and went in to pick it up and the Mexican guy in the front gave me a hard time. I showed him my email receipt and everything and he got upset that I was upset. He then ignored me and serviced 3 white men when he was done he continued on to prep pizza. It wasn't until I started cursing and carrying on like a crazy person just to get my order. This just pissed me off being that I was already hung over and starving.
