I was in town and craving some Italian food again. I did not have a lot of free time and needed to find something quick. I hit the jackpot with this place. I walked in thinking maybe I'd get a pizza slice or some kind of sandwich. That did not happen. Right when I walked in I was greeted by a very spunky and extremely friendly young lady behind the counter. After a brief conversation with her about the menu I settled on a small/personal Italian Stromboli. (They have about 10 different Stromboli options) She really made the experience very comfortable. She was regularly talking to me every time she walked by making sure I was enjoying my meal. You need to know their "small/personal" Italian Stromboli is enough for two. It was amazing. I visit this area to get my nails done and today i was with my son and we were starving so we picked up a half plain half bacon pizza. It was ready, hot and fresh at my arrival. It was also $17.90 which i think is super overpriced. Very think pizza for Neapolitan. The cheese was super tasty. I thought the bacon was not good. I have been wanting to try Rocco's Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant ever since I started using the Lighthouse Laundromat across the street. Tonight, I ordered the Mozzarella, Spinach with White sauce as well as the Meat Lovers. WOW! what a delightful surprise when I got home. First off the pies are beautiful to look at, but then you take that first bite...and you realize that you just found the real deal. The young woman that took my order was very polite and accommodating. My pizzas were finished on time and handed to me with genuine kindness and appreciation. I will be back again and again. While I've driven by Rocco's a number of times it's not somewhere that I would consider for pizza/pasta simply because there are over a dozen places closer to my house all peddling the exact the same thing. But, enter a youth sports "banquet" that was being held here and it was off to Rocco's for the first time. While I assume they knew that the group was coming, every available seat in the place was taken and there were only three people working. One guy making pizza, one woman making everything non-pizza and one girl doing everything else or in other words it was a train wreck of everything being mass chaos. There was no way I ordering pizza as I could overhear that things were obviously backed up with a decent wait so we opted for spaghetti & meatball along with a chicken cheesesteak. I don't know if this stuff was nuked or not but it came out really fast which in premise was a good thing versus waiting considerably longer for pizza. The spaghetti & meatball was non-noteworthy standard with there being one large meatball versus several smaller ones but the cheesesteak was seriously bland and was definitely light on the cheese. It's sort of like cooking 101 that you've got to season the meat in some format especially when you're talking chicken which by nature is inherently bland. On a brief sidebar, I find Justin W.'s review to be hysterical because if anything I would respond that if we're suppose to keep in mind that Rocco's is just a pizza place then I guess they shouldn't have fifty other things on the menu. It's kind of a duh idea that if it's on the menu it's sort of fair game to expect that it can be done correctly because if not, then why the hell is it on the menu? Overall door to door it took around 75 minutes which considering how busy things were was actually not too bad. But with that said, the spaghetti & meatball could be had anywhere and the cheesesteak was honestly not very good as is similar with most places in the LV who cannot figure out how to make a decent cheesesteak (Carl's Corner in Bethlehem is the gold standard). Good to try but I've got no need to come back as again there are a dozen places between me and Rocco's where I could have had a similar unremarkable experience all with less driving involved. read more

It is kind of a scummy move on my part but idk it was two slices, and I brought the plate back and wiped my table. Idk I hate tipping in advance, every place does it now and then they get mad if I don't always have a tip for every type of food service, how am I supposed to know how the service is gonna be? Also it is not like I was waited on. Anyway aside from that the pizza was super greasy I had a picture of it can't find it but I just mean the bottom of the other slice was wet and flappy. I wanted to love this place so much as I live close by and heard they had new owners from Sicily, but the service is poor, and the food even poorer. Nothing is that fresh and not very appetising. To make matters worse, my fiancé and I went there for dinner and we were the only patrons in the restaurant: I wasn't expecting white glove service, but it would've been great if the family who owns the place weren't yelling at each other throughout most of our meal. Fantastic little pizza place! Garlic knots were overloaded with garlic just the way we like them. Pizza with sausage and pepperoni was amazing. Crispy crust but not overdone. Service was also great. There's only a few tables inside so they do a booming business in takeout. We're just passing through but I'm leaving this review so we can hit it again next time we're in the area. Been coming to Rocco's for take out for some time now. Typically we would order pizza, garlic knots and a salad and always really good! Today though I ordered a large Italian sub and a large Chicken Parm sandwich for myself and my 14 year olds to split.....when I walked in, I was greeted by smiles (masked smiles). Food was ready just when they said it would be and was fairly inexpensive for the unveiling of 2 ginormous sandwiches measuring almost 24" in length each!! The quality was incredible on both, even had Cappicola on the Italian sub! Chicken parm was huge chunks of lightly breaded chicken and great marinara. Tony and his wife are straight from Italy, and are the most incredible proprietors. I get delivery at least twice monthly. Tony always says, "Give me 20 minutes.," and shows up exactly on time with an extremely pleasant demeanor and a big smile on his face. The pizza is delicious: always fresh with an authentic Italian flair. Tonight I ordered the best chicken cheesesteak. The bread was fresh and melted in my mouth. It was absolutely delicious. Ever since Paese Mio closed last year we have been looking for a place with not just great pizza but great food and people. Warning.. very generous portions, go hungry or expect to take home the left-overs.. Ordered: 1. Plain slice 2. Lasagne 3. Cheese Steak Stromboli - added: spinach, fresh garlic, ricotta, and roasted peppers 4. Penne with Vodka sauce - added chicken 5. Tiramisu Fresh bread was also brought out. Asked for olive oil and it was definitely an excellent grade. Nice darker green hue with a mild spice finish. So good! 1. Pizza was excellent! Crisp, but not over-baked, crust; just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Sauce had a nice sweetness and the cheese was delicious and not oily. Brought a whole pie home for dinner. 2. Talk about FRESH made! Noodles were not too thick, balance of sauce, meat, ricotta was spot on. 3. Among the best Stromboli I have ever had. The shell was thinner than I have ever experienced before. Almost pastry flaky and so perfect. Mild seasonings to the meat, which is what I prefer since I like to taste the flavor of the meat itself. The mixture of ingredients was also balanced and held together while eating. 4. The vodka sauce was different, in a good way, then others we have had. Not super thick. Mild in flavor versus being over-flavored with salt. the chicken was cut into smaller pieces versus coming out as a full cut. 5. Again, different twist to this Tiramisu.. Excellent! Almost like a medium thickness, whipped(?) mascarpone and the traditional ladyfinger cookie. All the expected flavors were on point. Since this is fresh made, it is kept frozen. Ask it be taken out when first ordering your food so it is sufficiently defrosted by dessert time. There is a lot of greatness going on here with the food. Super friendly and accommodating. This guy is great: the real deal. He doesn't read yelp, because quite frankly he doesn't have to! He simply relies on word-of-mouth locally and has a great following. Wow I don't live in the area, I have on occasion stop by to grab a slice or other things; all of it is very good. I would like to try his Sicilian pie someday. Well, the waitress sounds like she speaks Italian? English not so much. Good came out quick, family friendly with kids menu and prices.

As the chaperone to a fairly large group to this establishment and give a little bit of insight to Joe and Drew's reviews, I will say this: We are a party of almost 60. The teenagers in our group ( the majority of the party) are athletes. Damn good ones, too. We came down to PA for an invitational race held at Lehigh and needed a place big enough to accommodate us with a pasta menu. We found Rocco's on yelp and called to bludgeon them with questions four hours before inundating their space. We were reassured that yes, they can accommodate us. Yes, they serve pasta. We made a "reservation" and took the kids to the hotel to get ready. We showed up at 6. We left almost 3 hours later with some pretty hungry kids. Instead of rehashing the quality/cost of food already established in previous reviews (accurately unsatisfactory/overpriced), I'm going to outline all of the things that went wrong. Having worked in the restaurant industry for a million years, I feel like I could provide some advice. Don't say yes to a large party when you have never done it before and clearly don't have the experience to handle it. The other option was to be clear and set some guidelines-- that you're better at pizza and grinders, and if we ordered 50 pasta dinners, we wouldn't have a good experience. Yes, you would've lost business because we probably wouldn't have gone if that was the response. On the flip side, you wouldn't have had to deal with a bunch of hungry athletes for three hours. Staff appropriately. There were two waitresses. They were stressed to the max and ultimately took the blame for what were the owners decisions. One of the chaperones was actually clearing tables. Prepare accordingly. Same idea as above. Four hour notice for pasta dinners = Go get some extra loaves of bread, salad mix, and another waitress or two. If your process is to make the pasta sauces individually, take inventory of the eight tickets and determine how much Alfredo sauce, lasagna, and ravioli you need to make. Cooking each table ticket individually was an epic failure. When delivering the bill to said large party, it's best if it's handled by the owner or manager especially given the circumstances. We shouldn't have asked to see him and ask for considerations. Stress brings out interesting qualities in people. What we experienced last night can be chalked up to inexperience and just plain bad management. read more

HUGE, fresh portions and great price -- the personal pizza is the size of a Papa John's large, and the 18" subs are enough for two meals. What a value. Our waitress had only been in US for five months, and Tony for a year -- she said "In Italy, everything's big!" Will be making a special detour off I-76 anytime we're nearby. read more

Consistently great food! The crust on the Sicilian is olive oil crisp on the outside and well risen and soft inside. try it with sauteed onions and meatballs. The specialty pies, like the meat lovers are LOADED with toppings, no skimping here. The bolli's , especially the large could easily feed 4/6 people and is always delicious. The sauce on the pizza is exceptional, home made , not right out of a can and has great flavor. As close to New York as far as flavor,in the area, but with more charm, the owner works the ovens and says Hello! I go here at least once a week , it has never disappointed and in always delicious. Best pizza my wife and I have had since moving to Hellertown. The sauce is good and doesn't give me heartburn. The main thing that keeps this from being a 5 star review is the inconsistency of the way the pizza comes out of the oven. I Never know if the pizza will be soggy and chewy or well done and crispy. I've ordered twice from here and both time have been positive. The first time I ordered a cheese pie. When I got in there to pick it up the staff immediately acknowledged me and said hi. Customer service is important to me so this was a good start. When I was done paying they also game me a little baggie of garlic knots for free nice touch! The pizza itself was very good but I will say if you don't like your crust dark you might not like it. The second time I ordered the cheese steak stromboli and mozzerella sticks. The mozz sticks were eh ok nothing special but the stromboli was awesome they put onions in it despite me requesting they don't but it didn't matter it was that good. Meh food and extremely over priced. I went there to get a take out and decided to get pasta and chicken with olive oil and garlic on it. The food was flooded with the "sauce", the salad was as small as they could provide, and it took the 45 minutes to prepare the food. The food wasn't even enough to feed an elementary school kid, and it cost 19 bucks. 19$ for a little bit of pasta, some chicken and a side order of salad. Im never going there again. read more

HORRIBLE!!! We ordered a pie from there and picked it up. When we got home and opened the box, half of the pie was folded onto itself bc it was shoved into a MUCH smaller box then it could fit in. When I called to let them know how pizza was being served the man got rude and told me it was my fault with the way I held the pizza home ( I held it FLAT).
