Dining room. Lots of wood, pretty old school interior, quaint and clean, real linen tablecloths and cloth napkins

Excellent Mexican food, a bit on the spicy side but not too much. Had beef fajitas with a crispy taco and enchiladas from the menu. Very attentive wait staff. Everything tasted home made! Lots of wood in dining room, cloth tablecloths, nice ambience. I will be back on my next trip through Laredo.

Rocha's moved to a new location next to the Arena Gun Club. I think the tables are too small and the dining room not as comfortable as their old building. The food is still very good. I enjoyed the barbacoa plate and the service was great.

To go orders are always incomplete! I use to order often but stopped then I tried again. The wait staff is often in a terrible mood ( the women). I dinned in several times & the last my party walked out since service was beyond slow & no excuse because there was only 1 person eating. Well, I ordered to go & AGAIN my order incomplete. Please see pictures. The salad dressing, garlic bread, & gravy missing. The waittress assured me order was complete after after she tripple knotted the bag tight. The food quality has gown down with meat being very tough.

Puffy tacos, puffy panchos, and fajitas. So good and worth the stop!!!

So glad we stopped to eat here. The service was great and the food was even better. Everything we tried was worth it. The puffy tacos were really good. The puffy ponchos were basically puffy nachos loaded with Guacamole, beans, cheese and jalapeños and your chose of meat. Definitely worthy of my business.

Puffy tacos with beans and rice. A little bland and a little strange but not horrible

Really neat space in the first floor of a hotel. Good service and nice fideo soup to start the meal. I got the puffy tacos which were pretty tasty if a bit bland (ground beef was a bit under-seasoned) and bizarre (there were chopped up dill pickles mixed with the ground beef). Things were livened up by the intensely spicy habanero hot sauce and lime served alongside the meal. My brother got a spicy bean taco which was actually fantastic so I would try that when I go back to El Catan.

I had the puffy Tacos and my husband had the chicken fried steak half order (it's huge!). My plate (puffy tacos) were accompanied by rice and beans. The rice was a bit aldente but the flavor was not bland over all it was very good. My husband's plate (chicken fried) was accompanied by fries, lettuce, and a piece of toast. The fries were not crispy at all just limp but the chicken fried was delish. The cleanliness was a bit messy. The floor had straw wrappers and sugar packets lying around. Staff was extremely friendly. Great time to come is on sundays because you don't have to pay for parking and it's not too busy after 1pm :)

Fresh, great food. I stopped during lunch and got my food in less than five minutes. My tostada was really good but I was expecting a little more flavor. There was a good amount of people at the restaurant, but they were still very attentive.

Best kept secret in town, if your here you need to try the "chicken fried chicken", delicious!

Even after mentioning it to the waitress nothing was done. The quesadilla was pretty fair, nothing special just chicken and cheese, no spices. The restaurant wasn't busy, we were the only patrons. $50 for a very disappointing meal. Since we were staying at the hotel, we went down for breakfast. Greasy food and the refried beans in my taco were dry and crunchy. The waitress didn't pay attention, I had to ask twice for a coffee refill. Well the truth was we had not left any room number because WE HAD PAID AT THE BAR INCLUDING A GENEROUS TIP! We had to go to the front desk to fix THEIR ERROR (aka the bartender's error) and it was like pulling teeth to get them to admit that it was a whoops on their part. That incident made me knock off one star. It could have been handled better had the bartender admitted we handed him a credit card and he neglected to charge the card. Sad, because the bartender was actually very attentive... oh well.

My favorite appetizer were the Gulf Coast Crab Cakes. From the main dishes I highly recommend the Low & Slow Short Rib, it is delicious! The Iron Chop was also really good. And the Dulce de Leche dessert was really good too, not too sweet or overpowering. For cocktails the Triple Crown and Run for the Roses were very refreshing. The staff were very friendly and attentive and though the restaurant was renovated they kept the classic look that makes the Tack Room. Reopening is tentatively for November 14th 2025. It's been years since I've gone to the Tack Room but the new menu and changes they've made are really worth the trip downtown.

They brought chips and salsa and we ordered some margaritas. Just a note, they don't do Cadillac. The were good, not great. Same with the Pina Colada. My husband ordered the crispy tacos and I the tres enchiladas with a salad. The salad was all iceberg lettuce with an interesting dressing with a tangy flair.
