And if we find ourselves in CA, be sure we'll go there so we can deliver big bear hugs to them! My husband loves to wear their hats and looks great in them. I wanted to have that experience too. I wasn't a hat person until I got one of their hats. Soon after - actually the following week after the first purchase and a week after that - I ordered more! I ordered my first hat to protect my head from the sun while letting the wind blow through. I used to buy the one-size-fits-all big box store hats for gardening until it dawned on me that I should have a good hat, in my size, to wear proudly. So we shopped online and each ordered a hat. They shipped within days. When our cameras alerted us to the delivery, we actually returned home from shopping so we could open the box and wear the hats! I was really excited when I tried on the hat. It felt so comfortable - I wondered if the hat would feel like a prop but it didn't - it felt like a part of me right away. I was excited at how well it fit and looked. I wore it while we ran errands and went to dinner. I loved that I could feel the breeze and that my head stayed cool. I loved the dark color of the underside of the hat brim. I ordered a hat band that complimented the darker color and really brought the look together. That first day of wearing my hat, people gushed. It was really funny - the guy at the post office told us that his wife wants him to retire baseball caps and get "a real hat"! The car wash manager fell in love with the Steampunk hats we showed her on our phones. And the clerk at a sporting goods store recognized the hat quality immediately and said she wanted one too. All three of them jotted down the website and a sale code that we received. Even though I wear a smaller size hat, I started trying on my husband's hats to get a sense of what I liked. I fell in LOVE with the Bromley hat and ordered it. And the mesh sun hat. And I wanted another crushable Half Moon hat in leather (a special order). I like the smaller brimmed hats because they shade my eyes while giving me a tailored look. And crushable hats mean they're easy to pack, stuff in a bag, etc. These hats are meant to be used and stand up to sun, rain (except for suede), etc. The people who work here are really nice - they emailed me and were available for telephonic inquiry about a custom hat. They care about our experience and are excited that we're excited. I went from never wearing hats to wearing a hat whenever I go out. I love how I feel in the hats and how the world receives me. I honestly didn't realize I'd have a remarkable experience - just by wearing their hats!

There's always a daily deal going on, so even if you're shopping on a budget, you can still score top-shelf bud at a great price. Today I got a top shelf 1/8 for $28 I've checked out all the shops in the area, and this one hands down has the best variety and quality. But my favorite part of The Hook is the staff. They are truly what makes this place special. Alyssa and Starr aren't just helpful -- they're genuinely kind-hearted, warm, and so easy to talk to. They always have the best recommendations, and because of them I've discovered so many new brands I absolutely love. I'm a budget shopper too, and they've put me onto amazing, affordable options that still hit just right. Denny is also super helpful every time I go in -- honestly, everyone who works there is great. The vibe inside is always good energy -- super welcoming, chill, and even pet-friendly, which I love. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking this place out. They've got everything: flower, pre-rolls, edibles, drinks, vapes -- literally all the goods

Unique because of the personal service they give. The guys at Townsend Auto Electric are very helpful and knowledgeable. Recently I needed to buy an air control valve for my car and I had a price of $347 from the dealer. I went to Townsend because they've always done a computer search to help me find parts that were more reasonably priced. I walked out the door after paying $219 for the same part. They saved me $122! That's impressive! I've also bought parts for my classic car there! They sold me chrome lug nuts that I couldn't find anywhere else. And guess what? They have them in stock! I highly recommend the store for your automotive needs! Try it out... And save a chunk of change and remember... You'll always get service with a smile!

Not only do these guys do it, it's $25 each, which is a great deal. New rotors would have cost me over $100 each, so big savings. While the chain stores have a bunch of younger guys with a little bit of training, the guys that work here know what they are doing, and they've been doing it a long time. I'm glad these guys are here in my town, and I hope they stick around for a long time.

Since I'm replacing the cables I'd upgrade the old cantilever brakes with some new v-brakes. I explained to him exactly what I was doing. I was excited. "I just bought a used cannondale and I want to upgrade the brakes from cantilever to v brake" i told him. This would have been a great opportunity for "Jules" to kindly lmk and upsell me on new levers as well. He could have said something like, "well you know you cant use short pull cantilever brake levers with long pull v brakes". I had no idea there was such thing as long and short pull. Anyway so I go home with my new "origin-8" v brakes and cables and housing. Ready to install my new Surly Sunrise handlebars(which i purchased from another shop) and brakes and cables onto my new used Cannondale. I installed everything but the brakes didn't look right. The v brakes seemed to be too tight and looking kinda weird, the booty was all scrunched up. They worked alright but I couldn't get the v brakes to release so I could remove the rims etc. So I decided I should take it to my LBS. I took the bike there. Explained my concern that I may not have adjusted them right and explained to Jules all my concerns about how I didn't think I did it right bc they were so tight I couldn't get them to release to remove the wheel from the bike. This would have been another ideal time for Jules to lmk, "hey ive seen this before, you're not using the right levers for the brakes". But instead he took it in as though they'd be able to fix it no problem instead of saying "no we cant fix it with those brake levers". Sidenote, when I brought it into him I also asked him to do some adjustments on the front and rear derailleur as they were skipping a teeny tiny bit. Mind you I already took the bike for a ride and it worked great but I just wanted it dialed in. The brakes worked. The shifting worked, I just needed it dialed in. Everything was installed and working pretty good when I brought it in, but not perfect. I went in on Friday and paid the shop. I told Jules I said, "this doesn't look any different and i still cant release the brakes to remove the wheels but even worse now". He replied, "why do you want to remove your wheel?". He told me its bc i have short pull levers on long pull brakes. He tried reassuring me and got on the bike in the shop, rode it a few feet, did an endo and said, "hey but they work". So i paid and left. But I couldn't fit it in my car anymore. Before I could still get the front wheel off, but not everything was so tight, I could no longer remove the front wheel. I tried really hard to release the brakes but it didn't work. So I went back in and asked if he could hold the bike and so I could get a vehicle that it fit in. I wasn't sure what to do. So on Tuesday I went in to pick it up with the same car as I wasn't able to find anyone to help me with a larger vehicle. I then realized the only way to get the bike into the car was to undo the bolts holding the cable into place. I brought my Allen wrenches with me and headed into town. I strolled into his shop and as he was wheeling my bike out I nicely asked, "do you think it'd be possible to get a return on the brake Job and without hesitation, before he took his hands off the bike, he quickly made a you turn with the bike and put it up on a bike rack, grabbed his tool and hastily and rudely undid the bolts which held the cables into place on the brakes without any response or any type of reasoning or any dialog whatsoever. I said, "oh cool you're undoing the bolts, I was gonna do that anyway so I could fit it in the car". He was so angry. Some people do all they can to make sure you feel comfortable and satisfied. Not Julian though, he wanted to make sure I was as uncomfortable as possible. Instead of making a situation better, he made it worse. Then he continued to tell me "he usually doesn't do returns on service". He then said he would "unadjust my derailleurs as well as my headset and return all my money". Totally unhinged. I calmly let him know, "no the stem and derailleurs are fine". He was just being plain mean and unhinged by that point. He already undid the brakes. I then let him know that I did some research and my research showed that it was really bad and unsafe to not have long pull levers on linear v brakes. He replied, "yah you gotta have the right parts or it won't work right". Proving he knew the whole time. I went in with working brakes, and left with absolutely no brakes. He had punished me for the return. He retaliated on me. He had no right doing that. Thats not how I brought it to him but he was on a mission to make me feel as uncomfortable and unsafe as possible. He was angry. People make mistakes all the time, its ok. You dont have to punish people bc you make mistakes Jules.
