Good burger and steak fries. I had the smothered burger, and it was full half pound with ample toppings

The service was very slow although they had plenty of help. Waited 10 minutes for a drink refill all the time we could see it sitting on the end of the bar and our server just walking by. The food, when we finally got it, was passable at best. Better off going up the block. read more

I'm not in to the "All American" type food places, I really just don't like burgers for the most part but I was pleased to find out they have way more then that to offer. I tried some of my boyfriends burger just to check and it was really good however. I've eaten there four or five separate times, from afternoon until late night, it's so nice to have the late food option other then Taco Bell or McDonald's. The food has been fresh and hot (clean oil in the fryers are noticeable). The service is always chipper and quick and more then willing to help, I also love knowing the owner is obsessed with keeping the kitchen overly clean, he may have a little OCD but I'm totally fine with that! As far as a fun night out this place nails it. They have a mechanical bull, again not MY thing but people have so much fun with it, it's fun to watch. Plus it's nice to see something different in the downtown area, who knows maybe some day I'll give it a shot (haha - probably not). Service in the bar is quick and friendly and always seem to be having a good time which encourages everyone to have a good time as well! Over all you get the sense of a group of people that strive to accommodate their clientele instead of the entitled servers I tend run into at so many places these days. I always have a great time there and highly recommend it! If you happen to have a bad experience, let them know I'm certain they will do all they can to make it right. It's not their typical business practice to provide less the stellar service so give them another shot at showing you what they're made of! read more

Horrible service. End of story. Service was slow and rude. Make sure not to visit when in Cedar Rapids. The food was raw and cold. Surprised I didn't get food poisoning. I would never recommend this bar. read more

Pretty Good! My wife and I stopped here for dinner before a concert. We got the pulled pork, fries, and a chicken Cesar salad. Plenty of TVs, good rock music, and good wait staff. Not a place for a quiet dinning experience. read more

We ate there on Monday early evening, to start it was a bear to find parking anywhere close to the Bar, just not a lot of parking in the area. Our waitress was very nice and on top of things, she gave us several suggestions on food items. I ended up getting the country fried chicken w/gravy, it was not too bad the chicken was a little dry in some areas, the gravy was good. We also got the 8oz Sirloin steak it was very good and cooked perfectly. We both had a house salad it was a nice salad with tomato, egg, cheese, cucumber good lettuce. They even had a mechanical bull it wasn't up and running when we were there but it looked like it could be fun. The place is worth the stop for lunch or dinner. read more

Came here on NYE. Excellent boneless wings, attractive waitresses (equally great service) and awesome environment.

Decent atmosphere. The service is average; our waiter was pleasant but not personable, and took 15 minutes before acknowledging us or taking our drink order. The menu is a bit underwhelming, but the prices are low. However, you also get what you pay for. Our meals were made with cheap ingredients and tasted as such. It was a fine experience, but not impressive in the least bit. We won't return. read more

Nice atmosphere, good service, I recommend the pulled pork dinner. Good BBQ sauce on the pulled pork. The steak fries were also quite tasty. The only thing I didn't like were that the fried pickles were VERY salty. I expect them to be salty because they are pickles but the salt could be toned down and they would be perfect. read more

We are in love with this place! One of those spots where you go in hungry for good BBQ and good helpings and leave thoroughly satisfied. My boyfriend had the Pulled Pork sandwich while my father enjoyed the half rack of ribs that just FELL off the bone. I enjoyed the Cajan Chicken Pasta which was just spicy enough and so creamy and cheesy. The staff were so much fun, our waitress was such a doll and so enthusiastic about the menu, she made everything sound so good and steered me in the right direction with my choice. Seeing as we went there for dinner, the atmosphere was animated and fun but not crazy or super nosey which was great because we ended up dining late (LOVE that we could find good food at almost 11pm). We only tried an appetizer but the menu looked great!!! We had to friend bacon macaroni and cheese bites YUM so much flavor, the O-rings, and friend pickles. Everything was had breaded/made. Great flavor....will return again for a full meal!! read more

I am from out of town and was in Cedar Rapids with a business group. We wanted a good burger and a beer to wind down from our day. The Rock was recommended by our hotel staff. When we got there you could tell the waitress was not happy with the large size of our group (13). It took 15 minutes to get our beers after we had ordered them and we caught the cook and waitress talking about us. We politely told them not to worry about cooking for us because we would be leaving and taking our business elsewhere. We got our check and took our business across the street. read more

My fiance and I were wandering around downtown Cedar Rapids on a Friday night, looking for a place to have dinner when we noticed this new restaurant. We decided to check it out and, come to find out, it was the grand opening. First impression was: it's a country/Western themed bar, but it's not over-the-top. There's a big bull-riding machine in the front, and the music playing was rock/country. A few people braved the bull during our visit and I can see how this could become an attraction for a late-night crowd. The servers were mostly female with short, cut-off shorts on and all staff (male and female) were young and attractive. Our server, Alyssa, was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, bar selections, etc. In fact, the restaurant seemed amply staffed for a full house, even though it was only 75% full or so. The menu has a pretty good range of food: Burgers, sandwiches, salads, BBQ ribs, steaks, pasta, etc. I chose the honey mustard chicken (grilled) wrap and my Fiance chose the burger (med-rare) stacked with pulled pork and bacon. I was very happy with my choice: the chicken was moist and very flavorful. He, on the other hand was king of "eh" about his burger. He said it was dry and bland, which is not what you'd expect from something with so many potentially flavorful ingredients. As I mentioned before, out server was great. However, the serve time for our meals was over 30 minutes. I chalk this up to it being opening night and maybe the kitchen staff just didn't quite have the timing down for everything yet. It should also be mentioned that our mixed drinks were sufficiently strong. Bottom line: I would go there again based on the food and the wait/bar service and with the hopes that the kitchen will pull it together, in time. read more

Went the first time on a Saturday for lunch not long after they opened and it was terrific. However, we were waited on by the owner so after reading the reviews here, I was hesitant to go back. ... Fast forward to a weekday lunch last week. Met a business associate here for a business meeting. Service was AWESOME. Our waitress was friendly, welcoming and very attentive. The lunch menu is a very reasonable $7. I ordered the burger from the lunch menu, which comes with steak fries. I ordered it medium and it came medium. The burger was juicy, hot and delicious. The fries were hot, fresh and yummy. My business associate ordered the lunch chicken sandwich, and he really liked his as well. I'd go back any day of the week. read more
