Great beer and ambience! Bridig was so welcoming and made us tourist feel like locals. I highly recommend for drinks.

The burgers were to die for! I had the Gorgonzola and caramelized onion without the onions and my husband got the Mac and cheese burger special. Food was cooked perfect and came out quickly! Walked out. Came in through the bar with four and the bartender told us to sit anywhere. This was not communicated to the wait staff, both of which ignored us. They brought menus and silverware to tables that came in after us, yet nothing. Walked out and went across the street to Maclaren's instead. Great food and service! read more

Lived in Rockland briefly. Beautiful small town and this place gave me a longer burger that was delicious. Good beer selection also.

Ok bar in town. It's super crowded on the weekends and a townie bar. The bartenders were just cleaning/organizing the whole time. Not too much ambiance in the place. Wish it was a better brewpub! read more

We stopped in for lunch around 1:30 pm on a Wednesday. It was quiet. The service was good and didn't take much time at all. They brew their own beer. Mostly IPA's, which I'm not fond of. I ordered the turkey club. Nice thick slices of turkey. The fresh cut fries were great. Not limp or greasy at all. Zelda had the lobster bisque with onion rings. The bisque was very good, and had a great flavor. The onion rings were equally great. Prices were average. Overall, we enjoyed the meal. read more

We were visiting the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, Maine, and were looking for a place for lunch. This was the only place with out a wait. When the waitress seated us, she wiped down the table with a wet rag leaving the table dripping with dirty water.. I went to the severs station, found a dry cloth and wiped down the table before. I should have taken this as a warning and moved on to a different place. The restaurant was not clean. It looked like it had not had a good cleaning for a long time. The service while polite was very slow. I will say that the food when delivered was not bad. If you're in Rockland and looking for a a place to eat. There are far better places. Eat here as the last resort. read more

I'm guessing this is a popular place, especially once the tourists hit the area. The night I stopped in to have a few brews with an old friend while in town for a conference, it was a tad slow. I was fine with that. We met here at my friend's suggestion. Didn't eat, just had a few beers. Extensive selection on tap and the choices are 16 and 22 ouncers. Bar tender was attentive and the locals were friendly. Liked the complimentary chips that our bar tender kept stocked. Would definitely stop again and next time, will probably try the burger or something else on what looked like an interesting pub menu. read more

We stopped here for lunch. It was about 1:30 and a little bit crowded. We were seated at a booth and waited about 3 minutes before our waitress came with water and unwrapped straws in the water... Ew.. Our waitress did not look very enthusiastic while greeting us. Her hair was also greasy. We ordered the fried green beans and about 10 minutes later they came out. Yum! Very crisp and flavorful! I loved the spicy dipping sauce that it came with. For lunch my boyfriend and I ordered the French onion soup, something that we both love to try every where we go in search of the perfect place. While waiting for our soup we looked around the place. The atmosphere was very bizarre. The decor was a mix of old photos, new paintings, bright blue paint, old chairs, beer, circa 1980 ceiling fans, and beautiful original ceiling work. Needless to say the dining area was a bit confusing compared to the modern/ earthy vibe the bar area had. At last our soup arrived, I was excited and very hungry! The soup was served in a regular bowl not a crock that this soup traditionally comes in. The bowl was a bit dirty around the edges and the cheese looked like plain Swiss slices.... OKAY. I'm being too picky! I haven't even tried it yet! So I grab my spoon and dig in. Starting with a taste of the onions. Alright, not bad. The onions had just the right texture. There was a decent amount of onions, but with me there could always be more! Unfortunately the soup was very salty. Perhaps it was the cheese? Maybe the broth/stock? The bread in the soup was chopped up and mixed throughout the bowl. Which made it a bit too soggy. I personally like when the bread is placed on top of the soup under the cheese. I ended up only eating about half of my soup before the saltiness really got to me. On a side note I tried the hand cut fries and home made ketchup. VERY GOOD! I could eat those fries with that ketchup all day. Overall, I do think this place is cute. The food it good. The service is fast, and it is located in the lovely Rockland downtown. I'll come back and try something new next time. read more

Beer is fantastic but the crab dip and broiled haddock could use some work. I love seasoning and found the haddock to be a bit weak/flat on taste. The crab dip was decent but not thick enough in my opinion. As far as the beer goes. I had a stout and loved it. Excellent flavor and body. Very happy. I'll be back - for beer. read more

This is probably 3.5 stars, but the round-up is definitely for the beer. The food was good, but not great. Had the lobster bisque (had worse; had much better) and the bbq-style burger with a veggie patty (yup, bacon on a veggie patty). The pretzel roll and bacon lacked the pop of flavor I expect from those touches. Ultimately, the food lacks a sense of freshness and care that I DO believe goes into their beer. Their IPAs were outstanding and true to their description. The imperial stout was pretty mild for an imperial, but still tasty. The pale was a traditional east coast style pale. Oh...and the frickles and house chips were tasty. read more

The food is alright, nothing to write home about. However, I came for the beer, which was... underwhelming. It's great that they brew on-site and have a large selection of their own beers on-tap, but it feels odd for the bar at "Rock Harbor Brewery" to also be serving things like Bud Lite. Plus, RH's own beers where good, but nothing fantastic. It's a shame, I'd love to see them focus more on their own beers instead. read more

I'd give our meals a good but not great rating. Portion sizes were on the small size. Cole slaw was pedestrian. Staff was friendly and accommodated substitutions. I got a clam roll and my boyfriend got a broiled haddock sandwich with a brioche roll. Cozy brewpub atmosphere. Can't say I'd come back for the food but maybe for the bar experience. read more

The smell of fresh brewed beer hit the nostrils as we walked in today. It was very pleasant, sweet and malty. We each had salads, both good. One Cobb, and a chicken Caesar with an authentic dressing. The storm surge IPA is a classic brewpub IPA worth trying. The service was a tad slow to get started but once our orders were in everything flowed properly. read more

Do not eat at the Rock Harbor Pub in Rockland EVER! I have never written a restaurant review in my life, but the food was so sub par I felt compelled to warn unsuspecting diners. The "steak tips" were slimy and obviously not cooked to order, made well in advance and microwaved to reheat. My wife ordered a fish dish that sounded great, but had absolutely no seasoning or flavor... These people must know they're serving bad food read more

What an awful experience. Be forewarned: from the sidewalk it looks innocent enough, but inside it's dingy, the tables are sticky, and the staff doesn't care about anything except their next smoke break. After waiting half an hour for our food we were out of time, and tired of drinking their mediocre beer. We asked for our food to go, and still had to wait ten more minutes for it. Mind you, this was a burger (medium rare) and a lobster roll, so no excuse for the long wait. The restaurant was less than half full. When we got home ten minutes later we discovered limp, sad food that tasted as if it came from a freezer. The lobster roll was an absolute waste of lobster. We almost went back the next day to see if they would offer us any recompense, but decided that getting a free meal from this kitchen would be more of a punishment than a reward. And we'd already wasted enough time here. The one thing I'll say is that our waitress at least attempted to be nice, although she wasn't straightforward about the reason the food took so long. The blonde bartender, however, ignored us at the door for over five minutes while she fiddled with the TV. We should have just walked out at that point. She was the type who lives and dies by her local regulars, and couldn't care less about anyone else unless they're tipping her for her bad attitude. Anyway, we will obviously survive a crappy lunch, but if you don't want to repeat our mistake: Just. Stay. Away. Ps the beer is made without any talent or enthusiasm for the craft. Terrible Terrible Service!!! Came the Sunday of the blues Fest. The place wasn't packed. Got a window seat with two other people. Walked up to the bar to order and stood there for 20 mins. People around me were getting served, but not me!! A party of 3 came sat at the bar 15 minutes of me waiting, to be served immediately!! We were gonna drink the one and leave, but the band started playing and we were into it. The band was from New Jersey And was amazing. Only got to hear a couple songs though because we didn't dare order food!Again waited another 10 for a drink. We were all drinking beers sounds simple right?? Drank them quickly to get out of there. Asked to settle up cus they had my card again waited waited waited. Finally they came with my bill!!! What???? How about give me the check they had my card!!! Another waiting game. We stopped by here on our motorcycle trip up the coast, and this brewery was recommended to us by the motel owner (see my review for the Claddagh motel-awesome!). We sat at the bar, had several drinks/beers (we were done riding for the day) and ordered the Nachos app. It filled the 3 of us up and we had no room for dinner! A great live band was playing too! The bar staff was extremely helpful, friendly and attentive. Other patrons were having a great time as did we! Although we didn't get a main meal, seeing the food that was put out we could tell it was large quantities, smelled delicious and looked great! Highly recommend this brewery if you are in the area! read more

Headed over here for a couple beers and to learn more about their brewing. As we stood at the bar for at least five minutes we were never greeted nor given any type of acknowledgment from the bar tender. Very unfriendly bar tender and over all awkward feel inside. I ended walking out without purchasing a drink so I really can't attest to their beers, not that I could have gotten one if I wanted. Place pushed bud light over most other beers. Appeared they do flights to sample but again I couldn't get anything from them regardless. Seems more like a local watering hole than anything else. read more

Love this guys story and following a dream. The beer was just good the food not so much. I paid $17 for fish and chips which was really fries with a side of fish. The plank of haddock was small, thin and the coleslaw tasted like it had been sitting in a bin for a week. I also ordered a Bloody Mary that tasted fishy or maybe like the Bloody Mary mix had been sitting a while and no one had thought to look at the expiration date. Friendly, polite staff.... but Slow service: slow to greet once we entered, slow to be seated and to receive menus, quite a long wait for our meals, then no checking back once food was served until very far along. By then, I had been hoping for another napkin and my glass had been empty for some time (AND I had to point it out). Meal - tolerable, not great. I think it was home-made ketchup that was in the small cup next to the fries. It tasted more like tomato paste, and I wondered why they bothered with that. The air conditioning was not on in the seating area, and it was uncomfortably warm. We were told it had stopped working ' a few days ago' but I see by other comments it's been quite a while. We also heard about a series of other recent failures with the beer cooler, and the kitchen cooler, and how they had to shuffle the food contents around.... Not what you want to hear as you are thinking about eating the food..... What else is not being attended to back there? Been here many times for a beer, but tried the lunch at the suggestion of a friend of the owner... but will stick to the beer. A shame for such a great location read more

I drove up to Rockland from Portland to visit the Farnsworth Art Museum, but I was hungry when I got there, so I stopped into Rock Harbor. Their window sign offered lobster rolls, but in fact they said they were done with lobster for the season (take the sign out of the window, maybe?) so I ordered the fried haddock sandwich instead. That was the best fish sandwich I've ever had, and the fries were excellent also. It's a brew pub, so you'd expect the beer to be good, and the light IPA I ordered did not disappoint.
