Pros: they were open no wait time to sit in booth, or at sushi bar I ordered and got my rainbow roll and miso soup asap Waitstaff were friendly enough. Food wasn't expensive and Rainbow Roll was very yummy and FRESH! Cons: miso soup wasn't very good and came in cheap disposable plastic that leaches microplastics into your food especially when it comes in contact with HOT soup. Water glass was also disposable even though I was an eat in guest. No Ambiance and I'm not saying it's dirty but it doesn't feel clean and well cared for. Would I go back? I wouldn't believe it if it didn't happen to me... but as I was eating a bite of a tempura sushi roll, I bit into a piece of rock! We don't have anything like this in our house. The manager offered to remake the roll and could only say that they were sorry and weren't sure how it got into the roll. They certainly put the "rock" in the rock and roll sushi! HORRIBLE experience here the other day! My mom and I came into rock and roll for sushi the other day since we had been shopping nearby and wanted something close by. We came in around noon and although there was only one or two other couples inside, the waitresses weren't taking care of their tables and were MIA most of the time. We were told to seat ourselves, and it took several minutes for someone to come over and take our order. A couple that came in after us ended up putting in a drink order before the waitress took our food order. It took her upwards of 10 minutes to make their single cocktail. Then the waitress takes their food order BEFORE ours even though we had been there significantly longer. She finally takes our order and I got a miso soup and a baked roll, and my mom got spring rolls and a roll wrapped in cucumber. When I was brought my soup I could immediately tell the tofu looked off and was bad. At this point BOTH the waitresses begin eating their lunch during peak lunch hour, one of which eating in the dining room. After using the bathroom and still not having a waitress come back to check in on us I had to go to the counter and tell them the tofu in the soup was bad and that I'd like a ginger salad instead. She eventually brought out my salad and apologized, and then brought our rolls and the spring rolls. We thought the rolls were very subpar. During our time at the restaurant, every other person eating had to go up to the counter to ask for their check and a box, which we had to do as well. The servers left their back toward the dining room the whole time. The service really sucked. We thought we were over the bad experience but later at home my mom got really sick. She got FOOD POISONING from her sushi! After a horrible next day or 2 she's finally feeling better thankfully. We are staying at a local hotel down the street I haven't had sushi in awhile so I stopped in to order a carry out. My spouse joined me when the order was ready so we ate in the restaurant. The prices for sushi are kind of high from what I am used to at home. It only took about 10 minutes fir our order to be ready. Service was good. Staff was efficient. I ordered a delivery order from their website and was charged a total of 8 times totaling almost $400. When I called the restaurant about it they claimed they never got the order and act like it wasn't their concern. They could never give me an answer even after calling the owner. We ended up calling in an order since my son had requested it and my husband went and picked it up just for them to leave out food from our order. The customer service at this place is the worst I have ever seen. I ordered a roll with steak, smoked salmon and crab. I walked up to the counter and told my server that I was not going to eat that roll because it was absolutely disgusting. The smoked salmon tasted so bad. It physically made me ill after eating a bite of it. One of the other servers jumped in on the conversation and said after I asked if I could just get it taken off of my check because I didn't wanna pay $15 for a roll that I was not gonna eat. She said to me oh well we can't do that due to food costs and I said OK. Well then can you at least replace it with something that I can eat and then she goes well let me go talk to my manager so she comes back after speaking to the manager and she still tells me that they can't even replace the roll for something that I can eat and enjoy due to food costs. In my experience, I've been a server and I've been a manager, if you work in the service industry, the customer is always right and you're supposed to make the customer happy, I did not leave here happy having to pay $15 for something that was so disgusting, I could not even eat and they wouldn't even replace it for something different so that I could enjoy my dinner. The service was HORRIBLE. I paid for an online order to pick up and they gave my food away to someone else and then claimed they couldn't do anything about it because the food was already gone. Even though I paid for the food and I had the receipt and bank statements and the confirmation receipt. Mind you, I spent $80.00! ON MY ENTIRE MEAL! And they refused to re-make the food or refund me for the entire thing! After questioning whether I needed to get law enforcement involved they decided to go ahead and re-make my entire order but not without him (I'm assuming he was the manager) blaming the waitress for everything that happened. Which if you're a manager of an establishment it is your responsibility to teach your workers how to act in certain situations so it is not entirely her fault! It is also his fault for not teaching them to check the identification of the person coming to pick up the meal! Well Rock N Roll is definitely going to give you better variety than Rouses Sushi dept (don't get me wrong, I think the guy at Spanish Forts Rouses does an amazing job honestly and you can't beat $5 Roll Tuesday...but I digress). I had the thriller roll Lobster bites Both were great! I think they could improve slightly on pricing since a majority of their menu isn't even local seafood so it could've easily been previously frozen. The food is 3-4 stars and pretty good. The service is always terrible. The place feels gross, dark, unkept and assuming you are given service and menus within 10 minutes, the first thing you'll notice is that the menus are walking pathogens that are destroyed, sticky, gross and embarrassing. Today one of the main tv's was inoperable and looked like it was falling off the wall. They tell you to seat yourself. However, if you have a party larger than 4, you'll be rearranging furniture yourself. After sitting, you'll be lucky to see a server within 10 min. The manager walks around in circles and looks clueless. Never once checked in on us. Hot food comes out of the kitchen and they leave it on the counter until the sushi portion is ready. The counter that has a bar and customers. I watched our child's meal sit there for over 20 minutes. Can we say food borne pathogens? How did this place pass inspection for temperature of food served? We waited almost an hour for our order for 5. We watched the place fill up and start emptying. I think the server forgot about us multiple times, including putting in the order. Still, no checkin from a manager. Once served, it was a free for all when it came to soy dishes and silverware. Since the manager just sort of hangs out at the server station and nobody else does much, they don't care when the customer serves themselves. I like the food here. It's not the best sushi I've ever had, but it's some of the better in the area. The ownership/management is completely ruining this place. She brought out our food but no silverware, we waited and she didn't return so we had to get up and ask for it. We've had better sushi, there's nothing special special here. Once i finally had someone take my order, it took forever to get my good. While there is something of a "chain feel" to the menu and place, I have not found better sushi in this area (certainly not Master Joe's despite it being popular in Fairhope). I don't care much for the way Americans have turned sushi into what is basically a casserole, but here they have plenty of options for those who like traditional sashimi and nigiri, which allows you to tell if the ingredients are fresh. If you like sushi and 80's rock, this is the place for you! We had date night Friday night and decided to give this place a try. The atmosphere was totally righteous! It's way hotter than Axl Rose is now. The place was somewhat sleek and walls were adorned with canvases of Kiss, Madonna and other 80's rockers. It matched the 80's rock playing over the speakers. Even the menus were made from old albums. (If you under 20, go ahead and Google "record album" so you'll know what a gnarly idea this was.) The beer, wine and sake list is on the center label of an album. The rolls were named mostly after 80's music and ordering was challenging, because we really wanted to order based on the names of bands we loved rather than the ingredients. Maybe that could've been a great way to try something new... Anyway, the hubs had the ZZ Top roll and I had the Titanic roll. They were both great, but I think my roll was a little better than the sharp dressed man. His roll had lobster in it, but mine had avocado and cucumber, which I love in my Americanized sushi. We started out with the headbanger shrimp. It was slightly spicy, fried shrimp with sesame seeds on it. We sat at the bar and had a couple of servers giving us plenty of attention. No complaints with the service at all. The prices were average for sushi prices. This is probably our new go-to for sushi, much to our son's dismay, as we tortured him with Twisted Sister videos later, which he did not find radical. read more

So I'm an eighties lady and this place really brought back some fun memories, Beginning with the Kiss and Madonna art on the walls, to the record album menus. I don't know why, but I really didn't "think" I'd like the sushi better here, because there was hardly no one there and the place didn't seem to be very popular, but when the food came I was pleasantly surprised. Everything we ordered was very good!! The ginger salad was the best I've had anywhere. The lobster hibachi was very good and I actually could have split the meal with someone because the portions were so large. We had our four children ages 11-29 yrs with us and they all loved their sushi rolls. There was lots is conversations about 80's rockers that added a little spice to our conversations as well. The staff was a little stand offish and seemed to be a bit distracted but I will defiantly eat there again. I would have given it a FIVE star had the staff been a little more inviting. I walked in to get my to go order. The waitress walked from the dining floor behind the counter to get my order. After she matched the receipt with the order she proceeded to open it, and take her finger and count them. (She didn't touch my food but put her finger uncomfortably close) She didn't so much as put GermX on and opened my food with dirty hands. I asked her why she did that and she told me they always do it and proceeded to look at my like I was crazy for asking. I have never had that happen but they're always something that goes wrong at this location including a waitress keeping the coins (which was almost a dollar) when she handed me back my cash; apparently waiting for me to hand her the tip I had for her wasn't cutting it and she took my change for it. Not to mention that same waitress messed up my order and got an attitude because I called to ask if I could pick up the items left off. (It literally was only toppings). When me and my daughter came here about 2 yrs ago we had a very bad first experience. We sat for 30 min waiting for our drinks to be taken while the waitresses all talked about things going on with their personal lifes I was pregnant and thirsty and hungry. I saw another lady go grab a menu so I got up to get one the waitress said I'll be right with you I went and sat for another 10 min. I asked for cooked sushi but they gave me raw by then I didnt care I'd been there for over an hr and was very disappointed and still haven't went back. I am worried to go back as I still see reviews of people having the same experience I did. There are much better places to go in terms of service and food. I had high hopes for Rock N Roll Sushi. They were playing my eighties music. Great start. I like different/funky menus, but not old album covers that can't be cleaned. Cool albums, but all I could think of was how many dirty hands/places these had been in the thirty years since they were released. Now to the food/drink, wanted green tea. The server wasn't sure if they had it yet. She came back and said they didn't but we're working on it. Asked for a Sapporo, struck out again. Had water, no big deal. The most important part the food. I'll take the responsibility here. Maybe it was my choice of rolls. The rainbow roll had no flavor, and was rolled very messily. The Scorpions roll, I think was my second roll. Picture taking the middle out of a cucumber and putting some stuff inside the hollowed out skin slices. In concept a cool idea, but in practice it needs to be tighter and have more flavor. Two of us split these rolls and normally would have then ordered more. The prices were quite reasonable. Instead, we left underwhelmed, and went over to Fresh Market and got the Sushi chef there to roll us a couple of more rolls. I am hoping that it gets better. This restaurant had wonderful food and a very fun atmosphere with old records and albums for menus. The posters of famous rock and roll icons on the wall was a great and fun touch. We ordered the rainbow roll and the hibatchi veggie dish. Both were outstanding and delish. What a great sushi chef they have and the best waitress (Anna) that we have found in years. Most of the rest of the help should have been called nonhelp as they were more interested in watching the sports on TV than their customers. this is the only reason i gave this place a 4 star instead if a 5 star. We've needed a new Sushi joint in Daphne for a while now. So I was very happy they opened up! So I went for lunch the other day with a few co-workers. Food: 4 stars - I had a "Japanese Bagel Roll" and a "Michael Jackson Roll". The fish was fresh, and the rice had great texture. The "Michael Jackson Roll" is a fried roll, which wasn't at all greasy as many are. It's not the best Sushi I've had, but it's really darn good! Ambiance: 3.5 stars - I mean it's in a strip mall so it's better than you'd expect. Cool decor with a lot of Rock images on the wall and classic music pumping through the speakers the whole time. It's in a corner unit and the previous tenant covered one side of the storefront with a wall, I don't understand why RNRS didn't take it down for more exposure and a better view, I found that weird. The only negative was the really uncomfortable chairs at the table. Staff: 4 stars - Super-Friendly. It was a little under-staffed, but I'm going to chalk that up to it being a new location and they didn't quite know what lunch crowd to expect. The ones there were moving fast to take care of everyone. Cost: 3.5 stars - "Japanese Bagel Roll" @ $5.95 + the "Michael Jackson Roll" @ $12.95 + $1.99 Sweet Tea = $20.89+tip That's pretty steep for lunch. Overall: 4 stars - I doubt I'll go back for lunch; Sushi's expensive, I know. But I'll definitely go back for dinner! I really, really wanted this place to rock my world. Although rice is something I rarely eat an awesome roll can make me willing to over-medicate for the delight. No worries there - the rice was in such abundance it make the food look dull and boring (just like white rice can be). The location is great for this sort of place, but the space does not cater to comfort. It is the sort of place where you eat and leave. Definitely not designed with the Food Experience in mind. I can complain about the service (as bland and dull as the white rice). Instead let me simply state that I have never seen rolls so consumed with cheap white rice. It is hard to even see the fish or veggies. The soup and ginger salad were very average. The fish seemed fresh. The rationale for 3 stars is that the menu did have a good selection, the prices were about what to expect and the location was convenient. It isn't on my list for a return. The Fresh Market has some well-prepared rolls that I can receive quicker than Rock N Roll Sushi read more
