We had an impromptu bridal lunch yesterday with my niece. We had a table full of generations of family girls to celebrate with her. It was so fun for all of us to be together. We told stories and laughed through lunch. We had the absolute very best waiter named Alex. He was truly amazing. He superbly took care of each one of us. When he brought out the checks, he handed my niece a card and she began to cry. She soon passed the card around and we were all crying. Alex had handwritten a long note to her, giving her the best and most thoughtful words about marriage. He encouraged the new couple to always keep God in their home, let God lead your life and they would be blessed. We were all 100% amazed and all blessed beyond measure by the words he shared. This was a cool spot. I love exploring when traveling for work. Colleagues introduced me to this spot. Found parking fast and was seated quickly. We were greeted by Svan. I just got a salad with chicken. It was really good and the portion size was for two meals. My colleagues also got salads as well and enjoyed. I would have ordered something heavier but it was later in the evening. I guest that will be a reason to come back. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Staff was great. Food was good. I was starving so I popped into my neighborhood Cali Dreaming. I grabbed a delicious burger cooked exactly as I asked. My server Erin was as sweet as sugar, but what really impressed me is after she took care of her guests, she cleaned her area so thoroughly that she got down with the flashlight on her phone to make sure she didn't miss a crumb! This was a surprising find. I wanted to try a DDD restaurant, but they are closed until Tuesday. I felt like soup. My server was awesome! I had the she crab soup. Very nice hostess and server Steven C. The chicken salad had no flavor and I had requested onions and shredded cheese . Kindly the server brought this to me to add. I have never had such a blan salad . For $14 you would think it would have maybe lettuce other then iceberg and tomato's were hard and light color . The chicken had no flavor at all. We ate there Friday evening, and the service and food was excellent!. I had the mahi mahi special and it was perfectly cooked. My spouse ordered the sirloin medium rare and it came out medium well. Our server Lorelei and Manager Kyle saw it was not as ordered and in five minutes she had a perfectly medium rare sirloin. This is great customer service and the ambiance is wonderful. My Husband and I have been coming to California Dreaming for 5 or more years. Hands down this place is always why we continue to come to Spanish Fort. We are steak eaters and the steaks are marinated perfectly. The only way to eat a steak is Medium, these steaks are so tender and flavorful we pared it with a house salad and those delicious Loaded Mashed potatoes I used to get loaded baked potatoes until one night they ran out and those were suggested. My Husband and I tried them and we are pleased to say we will continue to order the loaded Mashed. The atmosphere is romantic a great vibe dim lights this is a great date night place. There servers are so nice and respectful we haven't had a bad experienced with a server or our food since we been coming. We went today for dinner and we had the sweetest most caring genuine waitress ever Ms. Amber (she wears her love on her finger ) we really appreciate the experience today she is a real sweetheart who has compassion for her teammates and the customers. We had lunch here a few hours ago. With a party of 10, I was surprised at how quickly they were able to accommodate us. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. She took our drink orders right away and then, handled our food orders. The food came out timely. I had the seafood nachos. They were good, but seems like the toppings were a little on the skimpy side. My oldest son had a steak. He said it was good, but could have been seasoned a little bit more. Well this was a walk-in. we were at the shopping center looking for a place to eat in California dreaming came up on yelp. Looked at the directions and they were messed up. Apple Maps. It was running for a block here angled here back there over here and all you had to do was look up and saw the sign. Two minute walk The place reeks of ambience. See picture. The menu looks pretty good. Recommend trying it out. This place looks great for dinner unfortunately we will not be able to come back a second time as we'll be leaving on the boat. read more

It must be good we have eaten there two nights in a row! The fried crab claw appetizer is delicious! I got the pineapple jalapeño margarita on the first night and a regular house margarita on the second night. The first night I had the shrimp po boy sandwich-French bread with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise and 7-8 fried shrimp. The side was French fries and they were good, thick cut steak fries. It was recommended by the server, Missy and was very good. My husband got the marinated sirloin both nights-it was that good!!! The second night I ordered the steak sandwich. It too came on French bread with lettuce tomato, mayonnaise and horseradish sauce. I requested no mayo and they also left off the horseradish sauce. I requested they bring it and am glad they did! It made the sandwich! I would recommend this place for anyone staying in this area. The choices are very very limited, but California Dreaming was a gem. My family and I were traveling and decided to give California Dreaming another try. I called in the order and the person I spoke with was great. She took the order and then repeated it back to me. Then she told me an estimated pickup time. When we got there my husband went inside to get our order. He had to wait a few minutes as my pasta wasn't ready but it was only a five minute wait. He paid and then we left. I didn't go inside so I'm not sure about the interior. For my dinner I ordered the Blackened Chicken Pasta. To my surprise it was really good. The chicken was tender and the pasta was delicious. I liked the taste and texture of my meal this time. There were some tomatoes and chopped green onions in the pasta which added a little flavor but they were not over powering. They do have other delicious items to order. My husband got a medium Cali Mex Burger and he really liked it. My oldest son ordered one rack of Baby Back Ribs and he ate them up. My youngest son ordered the BBQ Chicken Nachos. He said that he liked them but wished they included more ingredients throughout the nachos. The ingredients were mostly on top leaving him with a lot of tortilla chips that no longer had chicken, cheese, onions or bbq sauce. Other than that he liked the way that they tasted. Overall it was a good meal to feed our family of four. The overall experience was positive. read more

Server noted that we said we wanted the meal for 2 and brought extra plates. I wanna say her name was Heather?! Her service was superb. Burger was cooked perfectly. Very pleasantly surprised! Food was overall very good. We ordered two California Dreaming salad, a ribeye medium, and a kid's chicken strip meal. Salads were good, kid's meal amazing, and the ribeye could have been better. The ribeye was lukewarm when it came out and didn't taste like USDA Prime or even Choice....still not bad though. Honestly I feel like the food choice around the area is limited and this was actually bour best meal overall during our 4-day visit, so 5 stars it is! By the way, the wait for food is REALLY long, over half an hour (after ordering), but I didn't remove a star for it as they were definitely busy. The service was good today unlike in the past where we've waited over 45mins after we ordered but today the food wasn't great. My Fiancé's filet was very undercooked almost raw but charred on the outside like the grill was too hot. We asked for them to remake it so they just slapped the steak back on the grill. The same steak that she cut and had her used fork on. Because of that the filet came back overcooked and almost well done. Not impressed but the health concern there. Payed $70 for two meals just to have an overcooked steak. The manager didn't show any remorse and offered no compensation for a horrible steak. read more

LIFESAVER!! During hurricane Sally when we didn't have power for 7 days this California Dreaming was open, thank goodness. My wife and I each ordered hamburgers to go since we had been cleaning up around the house for 2 days and we were wiped out and wanted something hardy. Having lived in the coast for 2-1/2 years I had wanted to try it based upon what I had heard. They didn't disappoint. Burgers were awesome and taste was great. Customer service was also very good.
