Just left Rock N Roll sushi in Dothan. I'm a big fan of the brand in other southern states and decided to try this restaurant on my drive back from Destin. It didn't disappoint! They have lots of the seats X out and the sushi bar can't be sat because of covid, but they were cleaning everything, wearing masks, and showing they cared about the health standards which I appreciated. I don't see what the hype is about. Dothan has many other options. Small rolls. You must request soy sauce or yum yum sauce. Dividers between booths were in need of a deep cleaning as they had handprints smeared all over. Seats had to be wiped off. Most frustrating was that the hibachi came out at least 10 minutes before the sushi. Other tables were the same. If I eat out, I want to eat with my family and that time gap is unacceptable. So we walk in and there are only three tables occupied two people each and two waitresses. We waited at the hostess podium for 5 mins before even greeted and then the waitress said she was gonna wipe off a booth table so we waited there another few mins. Got seated at a table that was drenched by being wiped off yuck! Move to the rolls we loved the cyndi lower roll it was interesting and innovative with strawberry Jalapeño slices. Journey roll- unfortunately I had only gotten this roll because it had Orange slices and "citrus sauce" I thought it would be a unique different experience. Citrus sauce is like a sweet chili sauce. Motley Crew roll just came off like a Cali roll with crab on top and a slice of jalapeño thrown on there when T was suppose to be part of the roll. So one and out three rolls were worth having again. We did the stuffed jalapeños appetizer and my friend liked it. The ice cream for adults was decent and the fried brownie was interesting had higher hopes for this place from reviews and pictures unfortunately maybe not a go too My date had to wait on water. *Update* The wife and I come here regularly and have become huge fans. Rudy is the best sushi man in the area and puts his heart/soul into his rolls. For my wife's birthday he made the "Rudy Roll" (picture attached). It was amazing. Excellent sushi paired nicely with a fun venue. We ate lunch at the bar today and it was outstanding. The wife and I split the Bama Roll, Volcano Roll, and the I Am Sam Roll. The bar tender and sushi chefs were very personable and on top of their game. The food was excellent, albeit a little pricey for lunch. Slightly more expensive than Tokyo Sushi, however, we felt that there was significantly more bang for our buck at RnR. We will definitely be back. A must try for sushi lovers in the Dothan/Fort Rucker area. read more

The positive: Our server was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and the theming is great. The menu has a nice variety of sushi. The not so great: We are seafood lovers. We studied a take-out menu on the way to the restaurant, and being the crab lovers we are, settled on multiple rolls and a salad that listed crab as an ingredient. To our surprise, all contained imitation crabmeat. This may not be an issue for some, but neither my husband or myself are fans. For the price of the rolls, I was hoping for crab. I would come back and give it another try if I was in the local area, but I definitely won't be ordering anything with "crab" listed as an ingredient. read more

The decor and theme is amazing. We loved the classic rock being played throughout our meal. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. It was a really fun atmosphere. My husband loves sushi, and I want to love sushi but just haven't found any that I've really liked. That said, I won't comment on the sushi. There was a large selection. I didn't like the ones I tried, but that's just me. I was very happy to see hibachi offerings on the menu, but my hibachi was cold when it was brought out. We ordered boom boom shrimp as an appetizer, which was good, but the portion was pretty small. We will definitely be back, but I didn't love it as much as I wanted to. Our 5-year-old daughter was with us and I was uncomfortable having her there only because the music was not censored. I'm not quite sure why this place was so packed. The quality of fish was subpar and the portions were small. For $5, I got a small portion of seaweed salad served on a bed of spring mix salad. The seaweed salad was also mixed with very tough pieces of seaweed. The slices of fish on my rolls were rather thick but the quality was poor - my salmon was falling apart. I wanted to diss this place. I really did. Primarily because the one in Trussville was very mediocre. This one is an exception. The crab wonton appetizer was fresh and had the appearance of being homemade. They were excellent. The sushi, although slightly pricier than other local sushi restaurants, was expertly made, very tasty and fresh, and huge in proportion size. I highly recommend you give RNRS a go! read more
