(Flavor wise; they're basically the same exact thing) (Wouldn't get again) I got the volcano roll, which should have had a California roll under a balanced baked creamy lobster mix. The roll underneath did not fulfill the classic California roll - instead it had cream cheese with mushy sushi rice. The topping was a salty imitation crab and the same followed the inside of the roll. Waiter was honest, nice & I appreciated the genuine service. This is the type of sushi place that wants all their rolls to be "special rolls". Everything I've had has been great, but some have almost been "too much". They go a bit overboard with the sauces even on basic rolls. While nothing has been bad, it kinda loses the fresh and delicate nature of traditional sushi that make it what it is. With that said, this could be the place for you and I would recommend anyone try it. So far my favorite rolls have probably been the Reggae Roll, Punk Rock Roll, and the VIP Roll. Almost every time I come in it's been a great atmosphere. The seats are pretty comfortable, I'm not made to feel like I need to get in and get out, and I found out that the way they do tables is by rotation and not by a specific spot, which is really cool in my opinion, because you can pretty much sit anywhere. Food wise: the employees know the menu well and have pretty solid recommendations. The Punk Rock and the Pyro are my favorites, but their price is pretty normal for sushi ($10-$15 depending on the roll) I'd like to shout out Katy for the last time I was here, as she was super helpful, and Andie for this time, because she was super sweet! If you like rock this is the place for you since they have tvs with rock videos playing at all times. The service was not bad counting they were busy. I've been here 3 times now, wanted to get a good feel before I made my final decision on it. Ultimately, it's good but here's some things I don't like about it. 2 out of the 3 times I had bad service. They left the sushi sitting on the counter until all of it was done. Sushi is something that is best if ate right when it gets done. I tried a couple of their classics, the rainbow roll and spicy tuna, both of them the rice had got too wet and was more soggy, A lot of the rolls are fried or baked, this is good if you're into it but me not so much. My girlfriend and I had been on the road for about 10 hours from Florida last Saturday night. We were disheveled and wanted to get off the road for a quick dinner. She owed me a birthday dinner and I elected Penn Station, which I love to an unnatural degree. We pull up and Rock n Roll Sushi is right next door. My girlfriend is a rock and sushi girl and I am to a lesser degree. We asked if I could eat Penn Station in the restaurant (like a self admitted jerk) and they obliged. They were as nice as can be and I had a couple bites of my girlfriend's VIP Roll and it was the best sushi roll either of us had ever had. Our server was amazing. She was so nice! She went out of her way to be nice to both my girlfriend and me. She even asked me how I was doing and if she could get me anything for my food. I really wish that I could remember her name because she helped make the experience. The restaurant itself is very cool too! Guitars hanging all over the walls, menus are album covers, and the bar lights are microphones. Overall, a fantastic dining experience to what was not the most pleasant day. Really enjoyed our dinner here. We had several sushi dishes as well as fried rice, egg rolls, and some other selections. The food was prepared well with quality ingredients and seasoned properly. The atmosphere is fun with big screens showing old rock music videos from the 80's and 90's my kids thought were hilarious. The staff was on point. The decor was not a bad choice. It was a rather interesting theme. The service was quite welcome. The waitress always made sure to fill our cups and check up on us. The food was decent. Ok, went here for the first time and was impressed. I am not a sushi guy but my girlfriend is and she had the California roll and a shrimp tempura and said it was delicious. As much as I was excited to order from here because I love the food I had to give a 1 star for the customer service experience. I went there today to do a takeout order and there was a little of a wait which is understandable, but when I finally made it to the front of the line there was only one cashier who was also responsible for answering the phones. After already being in line for the customers in the restaurant I had to then wait while she took a very long order over the phone without even acknowledging I was standing right there. She placed the customer on hold only to ask another worker how to place the order in the register for the customer that was on the phone and I was never acknowledged even during that hold time by the cashier. After waiting that entire time I eventually walked out and went to another restaurant to give my business for the night. If you are planning to walk in to place a takeout order save the time and just call in because the phone takes priority over the in person customer service. read more

Watched a bigger group come in after us and got drink orders before us. Oh well, it happens i guess. Ordered a couple drinks plus a beer. Server forgot the lemons that we ordered with the drinks but brought us 1 slice of lemon when we asked again.. Beer was good on draft. Started off with 2 appetizers. - Beef Tataki- Looking at the presentation is a mess... i don't know what they were thinking . It was just sloppy. Sear didn't look that great either. 1st bite was super salty. Just to make sure it wasn't just that piece, i tried another and it was very salty again. I had to drink a whole beer to wash it out while eating it. Don't know if it was brined in salt or what. I do not recommend . - Twisted Tuna- Presentation was nicer than the beef tataki for sure. Still a bit sloppy. This one was actually pretty good. Flavors are good . Avocado and tuna paired good together. The crispy flakes and tobiko on top gave it a good crunch. Recommend it. Would be good with some jalapeños - Jam sesh roll- Good amount of of different tunas. Got the sauces on the side. Poured the eel sauce and spicy Mayo over the rolls. Left the sweet chili sauce out. The sweet chili sauce is just eggrolls sauce... but overall good roll. - Spider roll- it was okay. Nothing special. Rolls were already coming apart before attempting to eat . - Tour bus roll- Wanted to try a baked roll. Good little spice with the jalapeños. The seared filet mignon made the roll salty . Some of the rolls were not ratio'd right. Having less cream cheese and tuna on the other. Making some good and some real salty. Do not recommend . - Punk rock roll- Loaded with tuna. Has a strawberry , avocado , jalapeño, cucumber salad that is topped over it. Really didn't stay on top of the sushi . Fell all over the side . Pretty messy honestly. It was okay. For the price, i do not recommend it. - Salmon and yellow tail nigiri- All cuts of fish were different sizes. Could be more consistent. Taste okay. - The ginger and wasabi that comes with each roll were non existent . It was a nickel size amount of wasabi And a quarter size amount of ginger. The ginger was also very dry. Getting close to closing time , Around 8:45ish , a server came up to us and said don't mind us cleaning. Take your time there is no rush. 5 minutes later our server asked if we needed boxes, and we said yes. The server brought our to go box and my wife started packing up her rolls. The server didn't leave our table and was stacking up the dirty dishes to clean the table. As she was doing that, i told her that I'm most likely going to eat these 3 last pieces. I dipped a roll into my soy sauce bowl , then she took that bowl and put it on the dirty dishes before i could finish eating the others. Was pretty weird . Don't think i even paid for the meal yet before that happened. Felt really rushed when the other server said take your time... Was really disappointed in the service and some of the food. The vibe of the place is cool. Rock music playing, guitars on the wall, big projector playing music videos . Some of the food was okay, but most weren't. If you are looking for some really good sushi , look elsewhere . You'd be disappointed. The price is higher than better sushi spots 2 miles down the road. read more

I had dinner at the bar by myself last night and the service was friendly but awful. The girl behind the bar was clueless. I asked for a Basil Hayden on the rocks. She had no clue what that meant. Had to keep asking me how to make I explain you pour the bourbon over ice ... period. I was served the bourbon over ice with a SALT RIM on the glass. Please please train your staff. I asked a young man for salt and pepper for my salad I was told we don't have those. If you want salt and pepper on your salad you can send it back to the kitchen and they will put it on for you back there. Are you kidding me. Food was fine.
