Came here based on recent Alfredo review. Alfredo itself was decent. We added chicken and it was terrible. I can't describe it. At best I can say it crunched when biting into it, is the best I can describe. But it wasn't burnt or anything. Pizza is great. Customer service....seat yourself which is fine, they brought us menus and said nothing. It wasn't busy. After 15 minutes I went up and ordered at the window. I wasn't sure what to do. While out visiting national parks in Utah, places to stay have you over a barrel for food. Rock Reef Cafe is one of those. I tried to order a pizza for dinner, but was told they weren't serving pizza. Yet others ordered before and after us got pizza. Weird. I ended up ordering a bison bacon burger. It was good, but didn't taste anything like bison meat. My wife's dinner was chicken enchiladas that looked good, but the chicken was so dry and tough. Pricy considering the quality of the food and a very old building. No our greatest experience of the trip. read more

Came in on a very quiet Sunday night to get something to go. The to-go side of the restaurant is separate to the dine in area, and out front is a patio with tables. Quick service, friendly young man on the counter. Fairly big menu with most things you'd expect to see. Got the BLT which was nice, a very big/full sandwich so they are not holding back on quantity. Came with fries and option of a dipping sauce. Good price too. Would recommend this place for getting food to go. Am sure the dine in area is fine, but I think if you're in the area you're probably visiting the National Parks so getting food and driving to a nice vista is an amazing idea! read more

Long wait, no silverware. No creamer for coffee, table after table SLOWLY being served. We were FIRST and after the 2 tables were served before us, my husband finally asked "what about us?" The reply was "it's being prepared" HUH??? pancakes take over 45 minutes? Then how did 9 other plates come out? Then 2 things arrived, but we didn't have any utensils to even get started. No coffee refills were offered we had to ask. Then they brought an omelette out that nobody even ordered at our table. That was enough for us to get up and walk out. Maybe they should stick to pizza HELL after an hour of waiting I would've took a pizza gladly. No wonder the place across the street is so busy! read more

Before you come here be aware the menu has changed. It is more limited and more expensive than the photos show. Sorry, didn't think to get a picture when I had the menu in hand. (It's no longer up on the tvs, at least for dinner). It leans Mexican. I had enchiladas. They were ok but not great. They come with a side choice like fries, which is a little odd. Husband and I needed cold drinks, good food, and a casual atmosphere when coming directly from the hiking trails of Capitol Reef. This place was perfect on all three counts. The meticulously clean cafe had a 50's vibe with checkered table coverings, booths, and a huge, gorgeous jukebox. Plaques with fun and inspirational quotes covered the walls. The fountain drinks are a serve yourself arrangement with plenty of ice and a large variety of options. Bonus for me-- the iced tea was good (Gold Peak, I think?) and they had both sweetened and unsweetened, so I could mix to taste. We ordered the large 4 meat pizza, which was big enough to feed both of us with some to take home (leftover pizza is the best!). The toppings were generous and really fresh. And the crust was one of the best I've ever had-- slightly crispy, slightly chewy, and FLAVORFUL. No sad little crust remnants littering our plates when we were done! Our server told us they make their crust in-house, and I believe it. Service was quick and courteous. Our friendly server checked in with us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. A side note: in an epic klutz moment I managed to dump an entire LARGE iced tea (cup sweat is my bane). I was mortified. Our server ran to my rescue with a mop and gracious assurances that it was not a big deal. Bless him. read more

We loved this place--great, personal service and great homemade food. at first we went to the popular Wild Rabbit Cafe--but left after seeing (to me) a disappointing breakfast menu. We were looking for a sit down place, where we could pore over our maps. Noticed this cafe literally across the street, so we walked over. We're we happy! This place looks modest, but felt like an undiscovered gem just outside remote Capitol Reef National Park. This cafe has only been open for six months (as of October 2022), our waitress told us. Great breakfasts (omelettes, pancakes, homemade potatoes, bottomless coffee, etc) and by the pictures I've seen posted here, great lunches a d dinners. Their hours are 8am to 9pm (great news for photographers who are enjoying last light of the day). Clean and friendly. highly recommend! read more
