I had reached out on Christmas Eve to get a quote on repairing a decorative window shutter on the exterior 2nd story of my home due to an HOA letter I received. I was not expecting a quick response considering a lot of businesses were Out of Office for the holiday which is understandable. When they reached out, they were able to give me a general quote based on photos and a brief description of what I was looking for. They were also transparent about availability on completing the project and payment options. On the day of, Scott had arrived promptly. Frank arrived shortly after and together they started working on the repair (I'm glad they used 2 persons for safety considering it was on the 2nd story above my garage). Scott was friendly and asked if I had any paint that matched the shutter (which I didn't even think of ahead of time, but it totally makes sense now). He did not make me feel like an idiot when I said "no", and said it was okay and he would do his best to use a color-matching glue/sealer. While Scott was on the 2nd story of my home, he took the time to inspect the area up there and showed me a photo of a dent I had where a good chunk of stucco was missing and exposing the chicken wire. He expressed I should consider fixing it as soon as I am able as I can run into problems if water gets in there over time, but he did not pressure me to do it right then and there. Also a bonus - I was easily able to pay via Apple Pay which was very convenient! I will absolutely use them again if needed. They completely renovated one of my bathrooms which included sub-floor replacement, finished floor, drywall repairs, paint, electrical work, plumbing, and installation of tub, vanity, and toilet. It was perfect. Two months later I started to renovate the 2nd bathroom. Easy-peasy, right? Wrong. The guy they sent to replace the sub-floor either didn't know what he was doing or was just too lazy to do it right. Job #1. Well this was actually two jobs for one call out. The first was removing the driveway lights and wiring. No fault to Steve, he looked like he was losing his mind trying to figure out the wiring. This was lazy electrical work on behalf of the builders. In a nutshell all the wiring forward of the garage was tapped into one wire. Scrap removing the wiring. That would take too much work. Plan B. Disconnect the wiring from the box. Leave dead wire in the dirt. No can do. All the other wiring is tapped into that wire. Had to settle for Plan C waterproof cap the wire that was connected to the lights. Job #2. Remove old caulking to the backsplash and lay new caulking. Little misunderstanding that was fixed. In conclusion, had a very professional and extremely courteous call with the owner, Enrico who explained everything very well and assured me that all the work done was up to "Code". This was my main worry and that worry was put to rest. I HIGHLY recommend Rock Solid Home Repair. Why? They are very professional and courteous. Mr. Ghiloni's final answer to me was that he wouldn't take any amount of money to finish the job and he absolutely would not discuss it further. As I stated below - he kept all monies given to him which was the full payment and left a disaster behind. After I posted my review below he contacted me a couple of times to take my review down. I replied that if he finished the job, I'd remove the review. Needless to say, he didn't finish the job, I'm not taking down the review. Fair is fair. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Enrico J Ghiloni was hired to replace a window with a door. He ordered the door, delivered it, half removed the window, tore up the wall and hung plastic. When it was time to finish the job he said that he was already losing $500 on this job and had too many hours invested in it. He also said that I was rude for asking for accounting of monies and time since none of it adds up. He then announced that he's refusing to finish the job. He didn't mind keeping the money though. My Father passed away and I am selling his home. I have tried and tried to find someone to repair the wall and tile on the outside of the shower and repair two tiles on the inside of the shower in the master bathroom. Was prepared to pay over $1500 for closet re-do: demo, drywall, paint, install Rubbermaid closet system. Company wanted another 3.5% if I used a credit card. I agreed to that as well. Then Enrico decided to decline the job. Demo, drywall, paint and install requires "dry time." Can't be done in one visit. Unprofessional. Was not in any hurry to have the work done...I specifically expressed "by the end of the year..." would be fine. Enrico wanted work done this week in one day... but, again...it's a three part job: 1st, demo & drywall...let mud dry... 2nd, paint....let paint dry...finally, install closet system. You can't paint over wet mud. You can't install over wet paint. Offered to pay for each step. No one smart pays for a job before it's finished. And this guy has a rep for pulling out of a job before it's finished...even though he's collected money for the job. Using a credit card is the best way to dispute bad or incomplete service. Zelle is not. I wanted to do business with pros...not bush-leaguers. At no point did I balk about the price. (Today, 11/8/23, the owner is trying to bully me into taking down or changing my review. Repeat: I had no problem with the prices ... was willing to pay for each of 3 stages of the job as each was completed. Look at his reviews. He has a habit of giving up on a gig when it becomes too challenging...and he feels he's into the job more than it's going to pay.
