My husband wanted some oysters so we gave this place a try, and I'm so glad we did since we went back the next day for more! We had a tasty lunch with raw oysters and a jalapeño mignonette sauce, smoked trout dip, and a bowl of the chowder. The smoked trout dip was pretty good with the chip and pickled onion (my least favorite dish). The raw oysters with the mignonette sauce were fantastic...we went for two rounds! My favorite chowder in Bodega Bay was Spud's, but I think this one knocked it out. I enjoyed the smoky flavor to it! Our kids aren't seafood fans so I really appreciated their kids menu that had butter & cheese pasta. Their Bloody Mary was solid as well! The following day, we had the Wedge Salad and calamari along with a bowl of chowder. The salad was crisp and the combination of ingredients was perfect with all the textures and flavors of the bacon, cherry tomatoes, shoe string onion rings, and blue cheese dressing...the best wedge salad I've ever had! I loved the lightness of the calamari batter as well! This is a nicely decorated and clean restaurant. It was romantic with the view of the bay. I felt the customer service was a little off, but eventually our servers were nicer as both lunches went on. There was a Hispanic man that was very friendly and kept our water filled. We enjoyed talking to him. The customers sure were friendly with lots of smiles towards our kids. This is my favorite Bodega Bay restaurant. I look forward to bringing family and friends. read more

My girlfriend and I went here as part of our 2 year anniversary vacation to Bodega Bay and I must admit I underestimated Rocker Oysterfellers! I thought it was going to be a cliche cheesy over-the-top tourist restaurant, but it was the complete opposite. Does it get busy and filled with tourists, yes, but the decor is pleasant, the wait staff attentive, and the food and drinks were on point! We were both in that state where you're not super hungry but you should probably eat something. We got well made/ balanced cocktails, shrimp cocktail with what I believe were fried crackers, (their cocktail sauce is the real deal with real horseradish in it, this is the way cocktail sauce should be, other restaurants take notes). We also got raw oysters (glad to see they had a seperate menu for them listing species, size, etc), their namesake Oyster Rockerfeller (a bit of a let down unfortunately), my girl got the crab gazpacho (very tomato forward with big bits of real crab) and I got the Cajun Blackened Shrimp & Grits (Big Bay/ southern flavors in this, huge shrimp and creamy comforting grits). The irony is not lost on me, we ordered a lot of food for not being super hungry but it was well worth it! Decent seafood with a Cajun slant, mediocre service, beautiful location on the bay. We were seated at a window table and got to watch local fishermen unloading their boat while we ate. The standout food items we ordered were the fish and chips, and the garlic butter oysters. Unfortunately the oysters were poorly shucked leaving several flakes of shell to navigate around. I ordered the mussels, which turned out to be way spicier than I anticipated. It was served with a grilled wedge of sourdough that was slathered in garlic butter. My kid ordered the burger, which he said was OK. He still ate it all, even if he wasn't impressed. My wife ordered a clam chowder bowl, which she described as delicious but didn't have enough clams. We ordered 4 oysters on the half shell. Unfortunately the kitchen would not split the order with 2 of each variety. We were advised to order the 6 oyster platter which comes with 3 of each if we wanted to try different varieties. Who does that? Every other oyster bar I've ever been to is happy to mix and match oysters. The host at the front was flustered with the crowd when we entered. No smile, no hello, just 'how many?'. It took a real long time to get our drinks from the bar. They arrived after our oyster appitizer, even though we ordered them before. We came in on a Sunday evening for dinner. Restaurant is nice, indoor seating with views of the water. Unfortunately Service was slow. Our drinks took extremely long. A beer, mixed drink, apple juice and sprite came out well after our food. Food was okay. Too much batter on the shrimp/fish. Oysters were fishy and not shucked well. Tbh we were pretty disappointed. I've been coming to Bodega Bay since moving to California when I was 8 years old -- so technically, I've been visiting for a few years!! I'm not telling you my age!! Let's say I'm a woman of a certain age!!! Whenever I visit a coastal town, I usually try to avoid the overly touristy spots because, while the views are often amazing, the food can sometimes be underwhelming. We found this place because of their extensive happy hour menu, and they absolutely did not disappoint! The customer service was straightforward and friendly. They weren't overly attentive or constantly checking on you, which I actually appreciate. There were a couple of times I had to wait a bit to order another cocktail, but honestly, it was completely understandable. The bartender was right there working hard, making cocktail after cocktail. It looked like they were extremely busy and possibly a little understaffed -- she definitely wasn't standing around ignoring customers. The happy hour food was fantastic! The fish tacos were delicious, the steak bites were full of flavor, and the shrimp served on top of bread with that sauce... oh my goodness. That sauce was the kind that makes your eyes roll back -- absolutely incredible! It's refreshing to find a place in a beautiful tourist destination that delivers both great food and a great experience. We will definitely be coming back! read more

Probably the best oysters I've ever had! We started with the sampler platter so we could decide our favorite and then ordered more of the bodega gems. They were crisp, balanced, and very well shucked. We tried the rocker oysterfeller charbroiled oysters which were fine but the oyster really gets lost. I can see how that would be a plus for some people but I prefer raw oysters. Skip the clam chowder - too thin, tasted like pickles and the bacon overpowered everything. Solid Waterfront Spot Worth the Stop Great experience overall. The calamari was excellent -- easily a highlight of the meal. The fried fish and shrimp had a really tasty batter, though it ran a bit heavy. Service was quick and attentive, and you can't beat the ambiance sitting right on the water in Bodega Bay. Service is great - we ate here 2 nights and had mostly great food. The wines by the bottle are exceptional and are served at the right temperature and priced very fairly - not overly charged - so order a nice wine and know that you're getting a deal. The fish and chips was good and the fried shrimp - all fresh and not greasy. We normally don't order fried food but this was really light and we were really hungry! We were welcomed as soon as we walked in! They seated us, and took our orders. Their service was fast and efficient. Our server was very sweet and kept checking in on us throughout the time! The restaurant was clean and the views were nice. I ordered the clam linguine- let me tell you- that was amazing. It was so creamy, it melted in my mouth. All i could do is close my eyes and smile with each bite. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp and grits- we never had savory grits before but my goodness! This was my second time at Oyster Rockerfeller's while staying in the Bodega Bay area. Expect a little wait especially on the weekends! If you have a large party though, you can call ahead for reservations. The ambience is nice with perfect views of the bay and a choice of indoor or outdoor dining. Restaurant Week 2026 Growing up in Sonoma County, we came out to [the old place] all the time but never ate in the restaurant. I had no idea Rocker Oysterfeller's had taken over and it was my first time eating there so I have NO comparison. Came here on a Sunday for lunch. The ENTIRE bar area was filled with patrons and it was only 11:30am. :) No reservations but lucked out with a great table near the window. That day was overcast and cloudy but for me, just beautiful. You're on the water! How can you not love the views!! Seals barking and the caws of birds remind you that you're in Bodega Bay. Started with cocktails - French 75 for me. I admit I was a bit thrown by the purple color but the flavor was very nice. Strong and lemony and had a nice amount of sparkle. Hubby's cranberry drink was less impressive but he follwed it with a delicious hazy from Old Caz. Nice that they feature our sonoma county breweries. We ordered grilled clams and then varying menus off the Restaurant Week offering. Garlic butter clams - they were all kinds of perfect! Clam chowder + BBQ Prawns for hubby, wedge salad + fish & chips for me. Clam chowder - creamy, bacony, plenty of clams. Prawns - I liked the flavor but for me, they were a bit dry. Wedge salad - PERFECT. Every bite was delcious and crunchy and fresh. I liked the crispy onion strings! Fish & chips - we were divided but ultimately it was my order and I'm the one who loved it. (he prefers crunchier) The fish was tender, batter flavorful, and those two were balanced. Service was professional and paced nicely. We went on a Sunday night on a three day weekend. We got there at 6pm, it was busy and the wait was about 45 minutes. You can wait inside and get drinks from the bar while you wait The restaurant itself is nice and has outdoor seating with heat lamps and a fire pit. We sat inside because it was cold. It was a little loud inside but not overwhelming. A little baffling could go a long way to reduce the sound but it might affect the overall vibe so it is a hard call. I'm not a drinker but I love a virgin strawberry daiquiri. They unfortunately don't make blended drinks so I instead had a virgin mojito which was good. We had an appetizer and two mains. crab cakes - 9/10 - these were delicious, very nice with the remoulade and herb salad. This was much better than having it in the captain's platter captain's platter - 7/10 - good with a nice variety, shrimp and dipper fries were good, the calamari ok. local fish - 8/10 - I liked this more than my wife did. The fish for that day was swordfish. Swordfish is not my favorite but overall it was well prepared and had very nice flavors The highlight was the service. Maeve was great, she offered many suggestions was attentive but not intrusive, super friendly and an amazing server. 5 stars The food was 4 stars with some ups and downs. We sat down and ordered cocktails. I ordered a Paper Plane. Which is 1oz each - Bourbon, Aperol, Amaro, and fresh lemon juice, shaken with ice and strained into a coupe glass. A coupe glass is 8 to 12 oz. (see attached photo). I am estimating my glass had less than 2oz of the cocktail. Our waitress made our cocktails. We watched the actual bartenders, make cocktails and the coupe glass was close to full. I expect short pours in a strip club! Not in a restaurant. I ordered the Cajun Blackened Pasta with Dungeness Crab. Flavor was good. I am trying to figure out why they put slimy zucchini in it. If you want filler add a 1/2oz more pasta. The slimy zucchini ruined the dish. This is a pasta dish! Include at least a small slice of decent bread with it. Raise the price, .43 cents for the piece of bread if it cost you to much. We celebrated our anniversary in Bodega Bay, and this spot was our very first stop and it set the tone perfectly. The ambiance was dim and cozy, giving it a really romantic feel. To start, we ordered the sturgeon dip and their popular Rocker oysterfellers, which were a great way to kick off the meal. Came on Veterans Day since I had the day off. There was no hostess at the front and there were several people waiting to be seated so we decided to just sit the bar since the bartender was actually there. As we were waiting the bartender said she'd be right with us. Looked like she was covering the outside patio area as well as the bar so she was pretty busy. Anyways our bartender was great as she was busy as hell. The food was decent not amazing or bad. Wasn't a fan of the chips. They have a weird take on chips. The fish had a little too much batter for my liking. While we were eating we saw people leave that were waiting at the front since no one helped them. Overall the bartender was great but if we hadn't sat the bar we probably would've been ignored for a while. If they were like this on a midweek holiday I'd hate to see it when they are busy. read more

No fishy smell at all, absolutely delicious‼ To the lady at the bar: you were the only great one! We started with a mixed half dozen TBOC Oysters: 2 each Kumamoto, Caballo Blanco and Tamal Liwa, raw on the half shell with jalapeño-shallot mignonette. I was excited to try Rocker Oysterfeller's at Lucas Wharf! They specialize in fresh seafood with southern flavor.  During my visit I enjoyed: - Specialty Strawberry Hills cocktail with vodka, strawberry shrub, elderflower liqueur, lemon, rhubarb bitters, and cava - Dungeness crab and artichoke cakes, which came with remoulade sauce over herb salad with fried capers - New Orleans BBQ Shrimp with a Worcestershire butter sauce and garlic bread The cocktail and appetizers were both so delicious. I especially enjoyed the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp and all the flavors.  My friend and I enjoyed a view of the ocean and watching the fisherman come in with their bounty from the day. We also saw some sea lions during our visit as well as many seagulls.  The service was great throughout my visit and the staff was very attentive. In addition to their regular menu, they also have Happy Hour on Monday - Friday from 3-5 p.m., which looks like a great menu as well!  I look forward to coming back soon to try more of their menu and Happy Hour too! read more

Employees were welcoming and friendly but service was a little slow; they'd come by often to check up on us but took a long time to refill our water & coffee (sadly the coffee was lukewarm, even the refill I got); our appetizer (1/2 dozen oysters) came after we had our main entrees & only after we asked about it (we think they might've forgotten?). The Starbird Mussels (creole tomato beer broth, andouille sausage, habanero sauce, served with 2 pieces of garlic bread) was delicious, filling and had a great kick of spice. Portion was fairly large and enough for sharing; my husband and son liked this dish as well.
