We had the pleasure of staying at the resort here for three nights and had 3 separate meals at Coast Kitchen as the location limits food options a bit. Nonetheless, we had an overall great experience. First night, I'd give our meal a 3/5. We had the Short Rib, Salmon Wings, Brussel sprouts, cheesecake, apple tart, and a cappuccino. The short rib was quite dry and tough but the garnish was great. My husband ordered the Mary's chicken with mole and that was FANTASTIC. The sauce was a proper mole poblano sauce. The salmon wings left much to be desired, I was intrigued at the concept, but not impressed. The char bordered on burnt and had quite a bit of bones. We both enjoyed our desserts. Our second meal was off the lunch menu: The fish and chips were pretty great! Well seasoned and the house made tartas sauce was nice. 4/5 The last thing we had were the burgers off the bar menu. This may have been the best thing we ate here! It was cooked to the perfect temp and the spicy aoli had a solid kick! 5/5 The ambience was cozy and the ocean views were STUNNING. The view is stunning The food is good, not great, but everything else is 39 min from the inn so it's convenient. And again, the view is spectacular We started with a pickled beet salad with goat cheese and arugula. It had a sauce on the side of puréed candied hazelnuts. I will certainly copy this at home The mains-- duck breast and short ribs-- were cooked well and moist, but didn't have flavor added in quite the way I'd hope. The vegetables and meats all had their original flavors shine through. That's the positive spin. Salted, yes. Balsamic on the duck? The restaurant doesn't match the experience of the rest of the resort. It's convenient since there isn't any other options around, but for the price I was expecting a more upgraded food experience. It felt more like cafe food to me. I had, breakfast, lunch and stopped in for dessert. Food - 3 stars. The dessert completely missed - I didn't even finish it. I ordered an apple crumble with ice cream. The ice cream was good quality, but the apple crumble was served almost like an individual tart so the crust didn't match the traditional soft buttery crust that I envisioned. It was overly sweet (maybe due to the caramel syrup) and it really wasn't throughly cooked- the crumble wasn't crunchy/ toasty. The lunch was solid - the fish and chips were delicious and a good serving size. I enjoyed the grilled lemon and it also came with tartar sauce and malt vinegar. This was my favorite meal here. For breakfast I ordered the eggs Benedict- it was decent. The hollandaise sauce needed a little more flavor. The coffee drinks were on point. The overall atmosphere is rustic chic with a wood burning fireplace. Views of the Ocean which most of the tables can see. Great view while the sun is setting. We got a great table looking out towards the ocean. Had the ceasar salad, black cod and Salmon wings and Manhattan cocktails and apple crumble with ice cream . The ceasar wasn't great, borderline bad, lettuce was iceberg like dressing watery and croutons tasted like they used leftover stale bread. I'm usually not that picky about ceaser salads but this was not my favorite. Never had salmon wings so thought we'd try it, probably won't order again. Not necessarily any fault on the preparation it's just very bony and fatty and very little real meat. The black cod was tasty, with a nice coconut cream. The dessert was the best thing we ate, warm with a nice crunchy crumble and fresh tasting apples with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream. I'd recommend if on the menu. read more

Coast Kitchen is the only restaurant in the Timber Cove resort, and it serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Spencer is amazing at what he does and provides great service with joy. The ambiance is cozy & rustic, but I wouldn't necessarily describe it as romantic. The property itself is located on a cliff with stunning ocean & mountain views so the window seats are great for lunch. Hubby and I tried a variety of things here during our stay. Jerk salmon wings (5/5), smoked cod rillettes (3/5), chicken sandwich (3/5), steamed mussels (3/5), fish n chips (4/5), smoked trout chowder (5/5), starter bread & smoked rosemary honey and lavender butter (5/5). Overall, the menu items were a hit/miss but the bread & butter were consistently delicious. The smoked butter was the best butter I've ever had. It had the perfect amount of smokiness, saltiness, sweetness, and herbaciousness. I couldn't do more than 3 meals here consecutively because I need something spicy in my life/meals but it's the only restaurant in the property so there are not that many options unless you drive pretty far away. I wish they would add more variety of items on the menu, and would sell that delicious butter so I can have it at home too! :) special s/o to Spencer for making our dinner memorable! read more

Food can be decent here - drinks were below expectations but the best perk of coming to the restaurant in Timber Cove resort is you can choose to sit in the lounge area and still have the full kitchen menu. It's a much more laid back atmosphere and if you're a dog owner - you can have your pup with you there. There are plenty of board games to choose from. I didn't really have high expectations. Usually my experience with hotel owned restaurants is either 'meh' or 'okay'. But I was wrong. This place was actually decent. I had lunch, dinner, and breakfast here. Everything was cooked well. My favorite was the sausage burger for breakfast, that was so delicious. Not going to lie, everything was expensive, which was expected. The views were great, the ambience was relaxing, and the staff were nice. Overall its a cool little place to eat at while you are in the area. Great place to stop in for a meal while passing through the area or even grabbing a drink at the beautiful hotel lobby bar. Food: The food was pretty great! My wife and I stopped in for breakfast on a Monday morning after a weekend of camping. She had the waffles which she thoroughly enjoyed and I had the benedict which was the best benedict I've had in recent memory. Great flavors and textures all around made from quality ingredients. The coffee was quite delicious as well! Service: Nothing too spectacular here but by no means off-putting. Low-key is the best description of the service which perfectly matched our moods and how we wanted to spend our morning. The coffee cups were never empty and our food was brought out in a reasonable amount of time. Ambiance: This is another strong attribute of Coast Kitchen. The main dining room itself is set half a level lower than the main lobby which also houses a large lounge/bar and fireplace. The dining room has large windows overlooking a coastal bluff with great ocean views along with a small gas fire stove. This is a terrific place for dinner: great service, terrific food, and sunset views to die for! My wife and I had a fantastic dinner here on our way up the coast. I had a delicious, tender pork chop and my wife had "salmon wings" which are the tenderest part of the fish. We started out with a "Timber Cove" platter (a charcuterie plate, that is a meal in itself). We had a terrific server, Kenzie, who was always looking out for us, without being obtrusive. Two out of three in our group loved their meal. 5 star chowder 5 star oysters (but seriously, $5 each?) 5 star corn posole (I think it was posole- there was lots of cheese involved, definitely not a light bite) 1 star steak: I don't mind paying $60 for a fantastic steak, but this was a giant hunk of tough meat with a tasty sauce that should have been allowed to marinate. The fingerling potatoes were bland & undercooked, and zero vegetables. Three green beans would have been nice. If you read the Yelp description of this restaurant, it says: Intimate, Romantic, & Trendy. No, No, & No. The dining room has an excellent view of the ocean, but the room looks like it doubles as the guest breakfast nook. Ordinary kitchen chairs, basic tables, noise from the bar & live music. Those last two items makes the atmosphere in the next room sound way more fun, and it was. The trendiness definitely exists in the bar lounge & patio, with foosball, giant chess set, board games, fireplace, comfy upholstered seating, beautiful bar, & food service. When we were there a woman with an amazing voice played guitar, harmonica, and sang all the fave mellow songs from the 70s. I'd definitely come back to hang out & skip the dining room. After your meal I highly recommend going outside in the back, there's an nice outdoor patio, people bring their dogs, there's a insta-worthy decrepit house and a nice walking path. read more

Timber Cove Resort is a breathtaking haven that left my wife and me spellbound. Our room was an oasis of luxury, with a view so stunning it felt like the ocean was lapping at the foot of our bed. The sunset from our window was a heart-stopping spectacle, painting the sky in hues that belonged in a Hollywood epic. Every detail, from the sumptuous bedding to the serene atmosphere, was flawless--a coastal dream we never wanted to wake from. Then we dined at Coast Kitchen, the resort's in-house restaurant, and our idyllic escape crashed into a culinary nightmare. This place serves overpriced, underwhelming slop that could sour even the most perfect getaway. We started with the $32 mezze platter, a pathetic ripoff that arrived with a teaspoon of carrot salad, four shriveled grapes, a tablespoon of honey, and hummus smeared across the plate like a kindergartner's art project. It was less an appetizer and more a middle finger. The steamed mussels were a health risk--half were unopened, a telltale sign they were old or undercooked (yes, I checked; it's a food poisoning warning). We couldn't stomach finishing the plate, leaving the sad mollusks to their fate. The house-made waffles came with strawberries so old they looked like they'd been abandoned since the resort's groundbreaking. The $8 "apple smoked bacon" was a scam--two soggy, flaccid strips that tasted like they'd been steeped in disappointment. The $6 fresh-squeezed orange juice arrived in a laughably tiny cup, barely a sip, and the water cups at dinner were so small we were rationing like shipwreck survivors. The coffee? Poured from a canteen like we were at a low-rent campground, not a luxury resort, and it tasted like liquid despair. Coast Kitchen, you're a one-star blight on a pristine resort. Charging these prices for such pitiful fare is borderline criminal. My wife and I would rather have gnawed on seashells from the beach than endured another bite. Timber Cove deserves a top-tier kitchen, not this overpriced disaster. Drive anywhere else to eat--literally anywhere. read more

The only thing good about this restaurant is its location and view. I've been coming to the Timber Cove Inn for years and was excited to bring my family, 4 of us, yesterday. We were all excited to have Oysters on the half shell and sip whine and watch the sunset. Luckily, when we walked into the great room, the fireplace entrance to this beautiful property, there was a wine tasting going on from Croix Estate Winery. They were tasting 5 wines so we sat and did the tasting, hoping to find a wine we liked to have with dinner. We liked them all but unfortunately the winery didn't bring any wines to sell. This was a failure, IMO, as I wanted to buy 3 bottles but was shut down..oh well, delicious tasting but now it's Ouster time! We were very excited. We were the first customers to sit for dinner. We immediately ordered 2 dozen oysters on the half shell. The waitress showed me that the menu item was only for (6) oysters and to look at the price, $29. We know that these are an expensive delicacy, thank you. I didn't need to be checked by the waitress. She understood that we were eagerly waiting for oysters so she took our order and left. She returned 10 minutes later to inform me they were out of oysters..we were shocked, and disappointed as this, and the view, was why we were there. We decided to stay for dinner as there are no other close by options and we were starving after all day on the beach. My wife and I ordered the seafood soup, maybe their rendition of a clear, non tomato Cioppino. My son ordered the Pork chop. The server took our order and returned to the kitchen. 30 minutes later she came back to tell u La that our Salmon Wings were holding up our order but that they would be right out. At this point we were confused because we didn't order salmon wings. She returned with the salmon wings and we told her we didn't order them and please remove them from our order, she apologized for her confusion and took them back. She returned with our seafood soup and Pork Chop. The seafood soup smelled like rotten fish. The broth was clear and tasteless, except for a rotten fish flavor and hot water, needless to say, we were VERY DISAPPOINTED. My wife and I could not eat our soup and left it, a real disappointment! My Son said the pork chop was cooked well but tasteless. When we got the bill it included the Salmon wings that we didn't order. I always leave a tip but I was PISSED OFF. I drew an arrow from the tip line to the meal we didn't order and wrote a note that we didn't order this and left nothing for a tip. My wife threw up in the parking lot! What a complete disappointment! We were tired and unsatisfied with a 2 hour trip home. I WILL NEVER RETURN FOR FOOD HERE AGAIN, or while this restaurant is serving there. I ordered the cod which was tasty but I received a piece that amounted to 4 bites. My husband and I ate all our food and left hungry which is saying a lot because I don't usually require large portions. However the great food and beautiful views were soured by our server, who I won't name, but let's just say she looked like a skunk. She was very curt with us for some reason throughout the night. Service was good, we went for lunch on a overcast day which was a bummer, but the fire-pit area kept us warm after lunch while sitting and enjoy a bit ocean view outdoor. Lunch menu was little limited, we liked the chowder soup a lot, definitely the best of the day. Salmon wing was also very good, recommend to try. Devils egg was ok. Fish and chip and chicken strip was just so so, chicken was little dry. The only complaint I have about this place the flies!!! Yes flies, there were quite a few inside the restaurant, we found ourselves busy guarding our food half of the time which was quite annoying. Our server apologized as well saying they are working on getting rid of them. We have stayed at Timber Cove a few times now and the restored midcentury mod hotel feels like high end glamping and the staff is amazingly friendly/helpful. We stayed for my husband's birthday last year and had a dog-friendly suite. I coordinated ahead of time to do a private room for a special birthday meal. For the special meal they allowed me to also bring in some special wine. The chef put together some offerings for us for the dinner and coursed it out. They also arranged for a special bottle of champagne in the room on ice, with a nice sweet treat to go along with it and a happy birthday note --- a nice touch! This year we were back for Thanksgiving. We ended up staying coincidently in the same exact suite, and Coast Kitchen had a special Thanksgiving menu. The food was good on our last visit but it was even better this time around. The chef has elevated the food experience a bit and it shows. I attached shots of our food from the dinner and the excellent Pinot we enjoyed from their wine offerings. I also included shots of the burger and chicken sandwich we had for a lunch one of the weekend days in the lobby / lounge area. The server we had for both of our dinners there was outstanding. She was attentive, made great recommendations, and was just the right mix of funny and professional. I can't remember her name but she's from Sea Ranch. Really nice place, dog friendly patio. There is a patio overlooking the ocean as well as a patio on the other side with games like billiard and foosball. There are two fire pits (one in each patio). There is heating lamps which is really lovely when it is cold. We came in a Monday and they had complimentary wine tasting in the lobby :) food was good, I just wish they had more filling sides. We ended up getting a side of potatoes. The dessert is probably the best part of the meal as it is very filling. Everything else in my opinion was very pricy for small portions. We got two mains, one appetizer, one drink, two desserts, one side for 200 bucks. Will I return? Maybe for just dessert :) read more

This place has a stunning view of the ocean. We stayed in Jenner and drove up to Coast Kitchen which is inside this hotel called "Timber Cove"! The drive up there can be a bit scary (at least for me) with steep Valley views on the side, and there was construction going on at this time, so add about a 10-15 min delay to your trip. We had clam chowder (which was pretty heavy) and delicious, chinmichuri chicken which was cooked to perfection and the chicken was buttery and falling apart. Absolutely tasty. My toddler had Mac and Cheese which was devoured by our tiny tot. They have a really nice kids menu. And the hostess and everyone was absolutely sweet and even gave my toddler a nice little coloring book. If you are not staying here or not here to have dinner, you can at least grab a drink and watch the sunset. Will definitely visit again. read more

We were headed home after spending the weekend in Sea Ranch, and decided to stop at Timber Cove for brunch before continuing our drive south. The aesthetics of Timber Cove are very rustic, like a cute mountain lodge. Our first impressions of the resort and Coast Kitchen were a little less than positive.. when we initially entered with our pup, there was no evident hostess stand or anyone to help direct us. The woman at the front desk stated that dogs were not allowed in the dining area, but told us to proceed through the dining room onto the back patio. We sat at one of the back picnic tables for about 15 minutes without receiving any type of assistance or acknowledgement from restaurant staff. During this time, my husband had gone inside on 2 separate occasions to make sure that staff were aware we were waiting- both times unable to locate anyone working at Coast Kitchen, and was only able to interact with the front desk staff, who seemed equally lost and confused. We had also requested for the heat lamps to be turned on, to no avail. We watched as 2 other groups (who arrived after us, but were seated inside) receive their drinks and placed their order, all before we even had menus in hand. Eventually, the bartender Laura walked from the lobby bar to the outside patio to help us. She let us know that we were able to sit at one of the tables in the lobby with our pup, which we were very grateful for. The service that Laura gave us throughout our meal was very attentive, she even brought over some treats for our dog. I got the two egg breakfast with bagel/sausage, and my husband got the smoked salmon plate. I wish I had gotten a photo of his smoked salmon plate, because it was laden with such a generous amount of salmon, capers, the works. I enjoyed the bell peppers in my breakfast potatoes, and appreciated that there was no upcharge for bagel. First and foremost, I would like to thank this restaurant for being open during the pandemic. Thanks to the workers for risking their lives. But we felt that for the money that was spent for dinner, customer service was absurd. We wanted to have a nice, sit down dinner before our 3-hour drive home. I found this restaurant on Yelp. I couldn't call to make reservations since there was no WiFi connection on the mountains. Coincidentally, we drove by the hotel, so we turned around and walked in to the restaurant. "Table for four, please." "There aren't any tables available here, but you can order takeout and eat it there," pointing to an outside patio attached to their outdoor dining and gives me a menu. Apparently, the patio is too far for their servers to serve us so we had to order takeout from the bar. I don't know why three feet is too far, why can't they extend their service to their outdoor patio?!? Wouldn't that give servers MORE tips?!?! We noticed that there were available seats and tables the WHOLE time we waited for our food, which was 30 - 45 minutes. We weren't the only ones who noticed. The other customers on the patio also made a comment about those free tables and chairs. They were there before us, and they were done eating by the time ordered our food. The kids and I were FREEZING on the patio. Why didn't they have outdoor heaters there too?!?! Again, I don't understand why they couldn't extend their outdoor dining service to their patio. It was kind of mean to have us eat in the freezing cold. I couldn't stand it anymore. I wanted to eat in the car, I didn't want to get sick. When we moved to the car to eat, we found out they didn't even give us utensils. D'oh. Then after we got the utensils, we realized they didn't give us a spoon for our clam chowder. Yikes. We just drank it from the container like coffee. Fortunately, the food was excellent. The clam chowder was creamy boosting with flavor from the ingredients. The Seafood Cavatelli was flavorful too with fresh fish, shrimp, and squid. I like how the seafood was sprinkled with garlic bread. The kids ordered the Artisan Cheeseboard. I wish I was able to see it served, since it looked like everything was thrown in a box. So much for presentation! The cheeses were delicious with honey, chutney, and grapes. If the hostess said we needed a reservation, we would've left, called to make one, and came back. She said there were "no tables available" when there were!!! It was kinda, like, they didn't want us there. Wouldn't you feel discriminated when there were available seats and they told you to sit in the freezing cold instead?!?!? I sure did. The over all aesthetic of this place is great!! Plus the coast view is really gorgeous. The service was mediocre but we weren't dining in. We just wanted to get the food Togo and eat by the fire place. The food was ok Togo. Not my favorite place we've been to on our road trips. It was a nice friendly dog place but still just very disappointing the food for the prices ! Probably won't be back for the food, maybe the hotel or game area! read more

We had the most shocking experience at timber Cove yesterday. We booked a dinner reservation online and upon arrival found out there was a private event happening. First of all We were made to feel like it was our fault we had booked the reservation through their app that clearly they forgot to black out. This was after driving 45 minutes up the coast with our four year-old and 96-year-old grandmother. Mistakes happen, and fortunately it was still early enough in the day, oh well. Now the event was not even happening, staff was still setting up chairs and there was no active party or guests anywhere. I asked if I could use the restroom before we drove 45 minutes back down the coast. I'm very clearly pregnant and needed to pee! I was told no that I could not, and that I needed to vacate the premises immediately because there was a private event! An event that was not happening anywhere in the area we were!. I was fairly shocked by this answer. I asked to talk to the manager and was told I was talking to the manager. This made me even more shocked that this is how a manager would handle this situation! Recall the only reason we are in the MIDDLE OF NO WHERE, hungry and with full bladders is due to a mistake on THEIR END. Clearly, there was a restroom somewhere on the entire property I could've used. But instead, she told me she would escort me off the property and then watched me waddle all the way back to my car. I guess she wanted me to loose my bladder in the parking lot? Upper management/and the owner of the establishment should be deeply ashamed of how their manager treated me. We've been coming here every year for 10 years when we come to visit our family and sadly this will absolutely be the last time we ever come up. read more

I am glad i stopped here. Unfortunately no space available for stay but the restaurant is exquisite! I had dinner and breakfast and everything was superb down to the coffee that tasted like costa rica i wanted to try everything on the menu. Oh and they are dog friendly. We loved it read more
