Old register with reflection of the gorgeous view.

The food is delicious, staff are kind and gracious, and the view is gorgeous! They make their own sauces. Definitely recommend the tartar sauce and aioli on anything and everything. I even dipped my fries in the tartar sauce. The food was so good, we went back for more the next day! Quesadillas, cod tacos, and fish and chips were all good choices.

Very clean. Very professional employees. Order prepared well and truly satisfying. The view is incredibly beautiful of the Pacific Ocean! Having been born in Dayton, OH, it was wonderful to see the vintage National Cash Register in such beautiful condition! They take pride in this and the service they present each and every day. Hope to return when the guitarist is playing:-)

We stopped off for a bite to eat at Ocean Cove Bar and Grill and found it to be absolutely delightful. The service was so warm, friendly, generous. He really bent over backwards to serve with a smile. My 4yo enjoyed talking to him as much as we did. The food was delicious. I had the clam chowder and it was some of the best I've ever had- and I'm picky. It had a buttery taste to it that was truly delightful. It was a beautiful day in early March and we were able to comfortably sit outside on the deck which offered a stunning view. There's a glass igloo we could have sat in if it had been too windy. (See it in the background of the picture with the friendly kitty.) If we are in the area, this will become a tradition.

Stopped by while camping in the area. It is the off season for visitors, which was actually quite nice having the place practically to ourselves. Service was great and food was even better! The view of the ocean made it a 10/10. Can't wait to come back!

Great casual seafood, super friendly order-at-the-bar-brought-to-your-table service, and a perfect view. There's a funky bubble you can eat inside of too.

We stopped here on our way from Fort Bragg. The place was quiet. It had outdoor and indoor seating options. We choose inside because a bit chilly but the outdoor view was amazing, it face the north pacific ocean. The service greeted us and sat us quickly. She just on us often. We ordered the clam chowder that was made in house and served in a bread bowl. My boyfriend order a old fashioned bacon cheese burger. Both of choice tasted great and will definitely stop again when we are in the area

Ocean Cove Bar and Grill... seaside views with great food

Walt from Walt's Adventures here and, as I travel the West coast, I find myself at the Ocean Cove Bar and Grill. First glacé it appears to be just another restaurant next to a roadside resort. However, this eatery is far more so than it's appearance. The ole staple of Fish n Chips here tasted great. The fish was fresh and the fries were good. Best of all... the eatery is next to one of the best views in California.

The huge sign off Hwy 1 caught our attention: Burgers, Seafood, Salads, Chowder! You had us at seafood and chowder... - Salmon and chips ($18): Good beer batter and two moist, hearty salmon filets. A little more fishy tasting than I'd like. Abundance of fries! The meal came with all the very necessary condiments: lemon slices, tartar sauce and malt vinegar. Ok coleslaw. 3/5 - Clam chowder bowl ($9): Creamy and hearty. Hit the spot on a cold evening. 4/5 - Triple berry pie ($6.50): Glad I checked our order before we left because our pie was missing! We wouldn't have it missed that much. Sadly, it was very seedy. 2.5/5 Fast service on a Friday evening. To go orders only right now during COVID.

Little store has everything you could need if you forgot anything...

This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. We came mid week in Summer and had no problem getting a site. Sites are first come first serve so show up and pick the spot you want! Windy in the day as expected but that didn't stop us from enjoying our days!

Not even melted cheese on the chilli cheese fries and barely any salad dressing
    Allie C.

Extremely average place. I'm honestly confused by the 4 star average. Guy taking our order was rude, no eye contact, and made sarcastic jokes. Food was barely even hot.... Reminded me of cafeteria food. Chilli cheese fries were essentially cold and the caesar salad had the tiniest amount of dressing.... Not worth $54 at all.

Fish n chips & clam chowder

Great views and great food! Clam chowder was the best I've had in a long time. Will definitely be back

A lovely Pacific Ocean view from the patio.

Does this restaurant have the tallest giant-adult-sized swing ever? On the north side of the building, looking right out to the ocean?

Yes, unfortunately insurance companies will no longer cover us with the swing set in use!

First of all, since it was $17, I asked the server how big the waffle would be, and he reassured me that it would be large, thick, and filling. It looked nothing like that. In my opinion, there also wasn't nearly enough whipped cream. I definitely expected more for $17. Second of all, it was NOT cooked through at all. It was literally dough. After that, I completely lost my appetite and didn't want to order anything else. For $17 I expected it to be the best waffle of my life. Instead, it was the worst one I've ever had. My husband ordered the Breakfast Burrito with Bacon and green sauce. He said it was just ok. He couldn't say anything good or bad about it. The service was good. Our server even comped the entire bill, which was very kind of him and we really appreciated it. The only reason this isn't a 1 star review is because of our server. The food is bad and extremely overpriced. We will not be back.

On the wall was a chalkboard with the list of local farmers and vendors that they used to supply their restaurant. I loved how fresh and flavorful all the food was, but I loved their collaboration with small local business owners to provide them with things like eggs and dairy. I had an omelette with spinach, caramelized, tomatoes, chicken sausage, and goat cheese. This was one of the most delicious bites I've had at a breakfast spot in a long time. We also shared an order of beignets that came with some fresh apple butter, which was to die for! It felt like taking a bit off fall weather if that makes sense. My boyfriend had some biscuits and country gravy with a side of sausage and fried eggs. He loved everything that he ate as well. He also had a bloody Mary, which was made with Soju. The flavor and quality was top notch and you hardly missed the vodka from the drink. Our server was very friendly, and he offered some insight into the quality of the Soju and the vendors that they work with. Well, my concerns went out the door upon having an evening drink at the bar and then dinner. It was so good that I decided we should come for dinner the following night as well. It is good to make a reservation. The restaurant is rustic, "woodsy" and very casually comfortable. The wait staff is awesome. They are friendly, professional and very attentive. Both nights was a delight, and we enjoyed chatting and getting to know them. The first night I had the Pt Reyes oysters. They were fantastic. Firm, succulent and delicious; bathed in a light mignonette and tarragon. Perfect! For my main course I had the Summer Vegetable Pasta. It was equally delicious. The pasta was fresh, al dente and bite size. All of the accompaniments, including artichoke pieces, were spot on and blended perfectly for an excellent meal. I was quite satisfied. The next evening I started with the Smoked Rock Cod Rillettes which came on two crostini and made similar to a tuna fish spread. Quite tasty this local fish was a great way to start the meal. After I chose to have the Pork Tenderloin. It was so tasty, moist and delicious. I had it medium rare and that was just right for me. The sauce with it was a great addition, plus the pickled apple, greens and bacon. YUM! Both truly delicious, enjoyable meals. Having a glass of wine for both dinners was just right and they have a nice selection. As for the bar the mixologist bartender was right on his game. I had a Manhattan on the rocks. It was so smooth and just the right mix. Ed had a Bourbon Sour and was quite content. I would gladly eat here again. It is a bit pricey but the value was definitely there.

Now that we're on the Sonoma coast quite often I wasn't quite ready for a sit down, so I decided to take the chowder to go. According to the hostess, the bar staff would take my to go order. So I probably sat at the bar for I want to think about five minutes before I was even acknowledged that's very disappointing. it really gives you a dismissive feeling when other guests are being intended. I'm not talking about a large group 4 down to two people, and I honestly felt ignored. Any way I waited patiently and was finally asked if I could be helped so I said yeah I wanna place it to go order. I'm kind of driving down the road and I just wanna take it to go. That was no problem. I wandered around the property, which is really lovely while I waited for my chowder. My receipt came to approximately $37 for my to go order of only two servings of chowder. I served it that evening, along with a salad and some filet mignon in the comfort of our own accommodations. While the flavor was whatever I remembered, it was a great flavor. It's rich and it's definitely comfort food. However, the potatoes were all raw basically uncooked not at all what I would expect for a seafood chowder. While the potatoes should be not mushy, these were just nearly raw. After the anticipation of looking forward to enjoying and sharing this dish, I feel pretty disappointed. So I can cross this one off my foodie bucket list. Been there done that was just OK. #coastkitchen

Wish I had known a couple of details before planning my anniversary dinner here…read more This place is known for epic views, naturally we wanted a table with a view so I called a week in advance to request just that. The woman I spoke to said she would put it in her notes and that specific tables are not able to be held. She assured me we would have a good spot so I took her word for it. This was our first time coming here and its an hour drive. There is very minimal parking. We were lucky to get a spot as someone was leaving. We were seated at the worst table this place has to offer, right at the entrance to the bar and kitchen, in a narrow walkway, there is a window for one person to look out of and the other seat is looking into the kitchen as the table is positioned halfway in the middle of a window, so one side is against a wall and a view of the kitchen. The busy waitstaff was coming in and out quickly from both areas and walking past us with plates and such, it was chaotic at best. It felt almost insulting to be seated here as we had made a request well in advance to celebrate our anniversary which was also not acknowledged. Another party was just leaving so I was able to request to move. We were then seated at a 2 top table just outside of the atrium with a direct view thru a window of another 2 top table on the other side of the glass so when you go to look out the window its like you are staring at the people at the table thru the glass partition. We were so deflated by this whole seating situation. I say all of this to point out that if you are a party of 2 there is barely any tables with a clear view for both people so keep that in mind! If you have a party of 4-6 you have a much better chance of a better table. Really wish I had known that!!! The interior was nice enough but lacking the romance and ambiance I had hoped for, can we get some candles or flowers on the tables? Seems like an obvious detail overlooked. As far as the menu we were a bit underwhelmed by the offerings, there is a prefix menu and a small menu adjacent with minimal options like lamb and elk or vegetarian.... Probly should have looked at that before making this reservation but I had heard how amazing it was so I just took a chance. Although the choices were limited we enjoyed everything we ordered, food and drinks. Our waitress was nice and did a good job for us overall but definitely was more attentive and informative to the group adjacent to us which was a bit disappointing. Again this was a celebratory dinner and it just fell short for us in that way as it was not acknowledged Our tab was a little over 300$ portions were modest although tasty. I enjoyed the drinks and desert the most. To sum it up, I wont be going out of my way again to come back here. If I found myself in the area I might enjoy stopping in for a drink and dessert. Id say a solid 2.5 stars
