Old register with reflection of the gorgeous view.

The food is delicious, staff are kind and gracious, and the view is gorgeous! They make their own sauces. Definitely recommend the tartar sauce and aioli on anything and everything. I even dipped my fries in the tartar sauce. The food was so good, we went back for more the next day! Quesadillas, cod tacos, and fish and chips were all good choices.

Very clean. Very professional employees. Order prepared well and truly satisfying. The view is incredibly beautiful of the Pacific Ocean! Having been born in Dayton, OH, it was wonderful to see the vintage National Cash Register in such beautiful condition! They take pride in this and the service they present each and every day. Hope to return when the guitarist is playing:-)

We stopped off for a bite to eat at Ocean Cove Bar and Grill and found it to be absolutely delightful. The service was so warm, friendly, generous. He really bent over backwards to serve with a smile. My 4yo enjoyed talking to him as much as we did. The food was delicious. I had the clam chowder and it was some of the best I've ever had- and I'm picky. It had a buttery taste to it that was truly delightful. It was a beautiful day in early March and we were able to comfortably sit outside on the deck which offered a stunning view. There's a glass igloo we could have sat in if it had been too windy. (See it in the background of the picture with the friendly kitty.) If we are in the area, this will become a tradition.

Stopped by while camping in the area. It is the off season for visitors, which was actually quite nice having the place practically to ourselves. Service was great and food was even better! The view of the ocean made it a 10/10. Can't wait to come back!

Great casual seafood, super friendly order-at-the-bar-brought-to-your-table service, and a perfect view. There's a funky bubble you can eat inside of too.

We stopped here on our way from Fort Bragg. The place was quiet. It had outdoor and indoor seating options. We choose inside because a bit chilly but the outdoor view was amazing, it face the north pacific ocean. The service greeted us and sat us quickly. She just on us often. We ordered the clam chowder that was made in house and served in a bread bowl. My boyfriend order a old fashioned bacon cheese burger. Both of choice tasted great and will definitely stop again when we are in the area

Ocean Cove Bar and Grill... seaside views with great food

Walt from Walt's Adventures here and, as I travel the West coast, I find myself at the Ocean Cove Bar and Grill. First glacé it appears to be just another restaurant next to a roadside resort. However, this eatery is far more so than it's appearance. The ole staple of Fish n Chips here tasted great. The fish was fresh and the fries were good. Best of all... the eatery is next to one of the best views in California.

    Salmon and chips ($18)

The huge sign off Hwy 1 caught our attention: Burgers, Seafood, Salads, Chowder! You had us at seafood and chowder... - Salmon and chips ($18): Good beer batter and two moist, hearty salmon filets. A little more fishy tasting than I'd like. Abundance of fries! The meal came with all the very necessary condiments: lemon slices, tartar sauce and malt vinegar. Ok coleslaw. 3/5 - Clam chowder bowl ($9): Creamy and hearty. Hit the spot on a cold evening. 4/5 - Triple berry pie ($6.50): Glad I checked our order before we left because our pie was missing! We wouldn't have it missed that much. Sadly, it was very seedy. 2.5/5 Fast service on a Friday evening. To go orders only right now during COVID.

Little store has everything you could need if you forgot anything...

This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. We came mid week in Summer and had no problem getting a site. Sites are first come first serve so show up and pick the spot you want! Windy in the day as expected but that didn't stop us from enjoying our days!

Not even melted cheese on the chilli cheese fries and barely any salad dressing
    Allie C.

Extremely average place. I'm honestly confused by the 4 star average. Guy taking our order was rude, no eye contact, and made sarcastic jokes. Food was barely even hot.... Reminded me of cafeteria food. Chilli cheese fries were essentially cold and the caesar salad had the tiniest amount of dressing.... Not worth $54 at all.

Fish n chips & clam chowder

Great views and great food! Clam chowder was the best I've had in a long time. Will definitely be back

A lovely Pacific Ocean view from the patio.

Does this restaurant have the tallest giant-adult-sized swing ever? On the north side of the building, looking right out to the ocean?

Yes, unfortunately insurance companies will no longer cover us with the swing set in use!

Well, my concerns went out the door upon having an evening drink at the bar and then dinner. It was so good that I decided we should come for dinner the following night as well. It is good to make a reservation. The restaurant is rustic, "woodsy" and very casually comfortable. The wait staff is awesome. They are friendly, professional and very attentive. Both nights was a delight, and we enjoyed chatting and getting to know them. The first night I had the Pt Reyes oysters. They were fantastic. Firm, succulent and delicious; bathed in a light mignonette and tarragon. Perfect! For my main course I had the Summer Vegetable Pasta. It was equally delicious. The pasta was fresh, al dente and bite size. All of the accompaniments, including artichoke pieces, were spot on and blended perfectly for an excellent meal. I was quite satisfied. The next evening I started with the Smoked Rock Cod Rillettes which came on two crostini and made similar to a tuna fish spread. Quite tasty this local fish was a great way to start the meal. After I chose to have the Pork Tenderloin. It was so tasty, moist and delicious. I had it medium rare and that was just right for me. The sauce with it was a great addition, plus the pickled apple, greens and bacon. YUM! Both truly delicious, enjoyable meals. Having a glass of wine for both dinners was just right and they have a nice selection. As for the bar the mixologist bartender was right on his game. I had a Manhattan on the rocks. It was so smooth and just the right mix. Ed had a Bourbon Sour and was quite content. I would gladly eat here again. It is a bit pricey but the value was definitely there.

Now that we're on the Sonoma coast quite often I wasn't quite ready for a sit down, so I decided to take the chowder to go. According to the hostess, the bar staff would take my to go order. So I probably sat at the bar for I want to think about five minutes before I was even acknowledged that's very disappointing. it really gives you a dismissive feeling when other guests are being intended. I'm not talking about a large group 4 down to two people, and I honestly felt ignored. Any way I waited patiently and was finally asked if I could be helped so I said yeah I wanna place it to go order. I'm kind of driving down the road and I just wanna take it to go. That was no problem. I wandered around the property, which is really lovely while I waited for my chowder. My receipt came to approximately $37 for my to go order of only two servings of chowder. I served it that evening, along with a salad and some filet mignon in the comfort of our own accommodations. While the flavor was whatever I remembered, it was a great flavor. It's rich and it's definitely comfort food. However, the potatoes were all raw basically uncooked not at all what I would expect for a seafood chowder. While the potatoes should be not mushy, these were just nearly raw. After the anticipation of looking forward to enjoying and sharing this dish, I feel pretty disappointed. So I can cross this one off my foodie bucket list. Been there done that was just OK. #coastkitchen
