    Rainbow cloud near Spuds
    Lisa W.

On a beautiful day, we saw a rainbow cloud as we made our way to Spuds. It was amazing so we knew the food was going to be good. The line appeared long and there's limited parking. We parked across the way in this big lot and my husband walked over. He said the line went by quickly even though it appeared long. We ordered a crab sandwich, clam chowder, crab meat and bay shrimps. We shared everything and it was a perfect lighter lunch. They sure stuff the crab in the sandwich, it was still quite small though but stuffed with crab meat. Delicious! Then the crab meat and bay shrimps were so good too. Good addition. Then the clam chowder, it didn't look like much in anybody's pictures, but it was definitely delicious! We hope to come here whenever the weather is good and enjoy some fresh crab by the water.

The Spud is always our go-to spot for clam chowder. We've tried clam chowder at many other places, but this is still our favorite. We usually order the clam chowder and the crab sandwich--both are consistently delicious and never disappoint. The service is fast, and they have multiple menus posted while you're waiting in line, so it's easy to decide what to order before you reach the counter. That really helps keep the line moving. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There isn't any indoor seating, and the outdoor seating is very limited.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We usually get our food to go, drive to a nearby beach, and enjoy a picnic with an amazing view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's also a great spot to bring your dog along if you're out exploring the area together.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend The Spud if you're in the area. It's one of my favorite spots!

First time at Spud Point and I finally understand the hype. We stopped by 4th of July before a hike in bodega and the line and wait for food was surprisingly reasonable. We ordered both clam chowders, the seafood cocktail and crab sandwiches. The seafood was unbelievably fresh, the chowder was steaming hot (perfect for the cooler bodega weather) and despite the amount of food we ordered, I didn't feel overly heavy after our meal. Service was quick and efficient, you order and they hand you your food at the register. Overall, 10/10. If you're in Bodega Bay, Spud Point is totally worth the stop, you'll understand after the first bite.

If you drive by and see a long line of people waiting I promise it's worth the wait! On a sunny and very windy day after visiting Bodega Head, my friends and I were looking for a place to eat on the way heading towards home. We drove by the marina and saw a very long line of people waiting on the side of the road. We instantly decided to park and join the line and started looking at their menu. We ordered the New England white and the manhattan red clam chowder, the baguette, the shrimp sandwich and the shrimp&crab sandwich. Everything was delicious and fresh and I would order each item again, but the star of the show was definitely the New England white clam chowder!

Visited Bodega Bay for the first time. Stopped here, really because the food looked so good in the pictures. The line was pretty long when I got there and all the tables were full. [[HIGHLIGHT]]All seating is outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got a crab sandwich and some Boston clam chowder. The chowder was good -- it just needed some salt and pepper for my taste. If you want oyster crackers, be sure to ask for them. I didn't, and I had to eat it without them... and I love me some oyster crackers in my chowder. The crab sandwich was good too, just again, needed a bit more seasoning for my taste. It's a pretty small sandwich, so be prepared. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Took the food to a table down the street at the marina facing the boats. Great view, and a seal or two popped out of the water to say hi.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Spud Point is a fairly popular seafood spot located along the water in Bodega Bay. The line was long the entire time we were there, but it moved pretty quickly. You place your order, pay, and receive your food at the window all at the same time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are tables you can sit at outside, but they can get packed easily due to how busy this place is.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Me and my partner shared the white clam chowder and the crab sandwich. While the clam chowder wasn't the best I've ever had, I still thought it was yummy and that it had a good amount of clams. The crab sandwich was a bit on the smaller side, and I wish it came with some sort of sauce or melted butter. Despite being plain, the crab itself tasted good and fresh. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, keep in mind that this place doesn't really have any non-seafood options like some of the other restaurants in the area (except for their chili and bread loaf). One of the people I went with was vegetarian, and they got food from the restaurant next door instead. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, this is a nice spot to get a quick meal while enjoying the view of all the boats nearby.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We always make it a point to stop by Spud Point whenever we're in Bodega Bay. There's usually a line, but their clam chowder is so good that it's always worth the wait. This time, we also ordered the crab sandwich. It was tasty, but a bit small for the $20 price tag. I understand that crab is expensive, but it's definitely not large enough to share. Even so, the quality and flavor were excellent. Overall, we enjoyed everything we tried, and Spud Point remains one of our must-visit spots in Bodega Bay. We'll definitely keep coming back whenever we're in town.

When I asked if we could get double the seafood on the sandwich, she said it would basically be the same additional price as buying a whole second sandwich. Maybe makes sense in some universe, but probably after standing in line for an hour that came across wrong to me. 1 star off for the line and sandwich price and customer service, but 5 stars for the food. We split a Seafood sandwich. Tasty combination of crab and baby shrimp on a delicious soft roll. But it seemed small for the price. They were sold out of the crabcakes, and the line was pretty long. Both probably testimony to the popularity of this place. New England clam chowder was not only a good value IMO at $9.95, it was fantastic! The most garlic-forward chowder I've ever had...it really worked! And the sourdough loaf we got to go with It was a great combo. I'm not a big fan of waiting in lines, but for the experience of this place and for the tasty chowder, it was worth it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's only a few bench tables in front, not enough to seat all the people in line.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Plan to get it to-go and visit one of the nearby beaches for picnic.

An hour wait at ~3pm on the weekend when the line is on the road past their sign. Seating is available! - Crab sandwich: the crab filling was delicious, nice portion as well and not over dressed! Only wished for the bread to be toasted / have a garlic flair. A better bread vessel would have transcended this sandwich - Tuna sandwich: classic tuna salad filling, but with pepperoncini bits as well. - Clam chowder: delicious and with nice amounts of clams in it! - Potato salad: didn't know i needed this side until i had it - must get!

Stopped here to taste the Clam Chowder and Crab sandwich. Parking can be a challenge on a busy day but you'll find one. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They offer dining outside but limited on seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You place your order at a window and it comes out within a momnet. The sign mentioned being one of the best Clam Chowders in Bodega Bay and after trying it, I wasn't on the same page. If you're a garlic fan this might be your jam but I wanted to taste like clams and not garlic. The Crab sandwich was served cold but it tasted pretty good. Price was a little high for It and I prefer to add some salt for taste. Overall experience was okay I liked server/cashier who was kind, polite and helpful.

Absolutely loveee their crab sandwiches!!! The service was amazing !! I got their red clam chowder too and it was very delicious!!

Crab sandwich was excellent. Also the award winning white clam chowder lived up to its billing. Thankfully when we arrived there was no line (we entered the line from the exit accidentally) but by the time we were done eating the line reached decent size. At the rate the food comes out the line moved quickly. I will definitely return when in the area.

We visited Spud Point on a Friday afternoon, and the line was long. I lost track of exactly how long we waited, but it was probably close to an hour. I did appreciate that the food was ready almost immediately after ordering, which helped keep things moving. We ordered the clam chowder, crab sandwich, and a loaf of bread. The clam chowder was tasty and had plenty of clam and potato. The crab sandwich was underwhelming. I've had better, the crab itself didn't have much flavor and didn't really stand out. Overall, it's a solid spot and worth trying if you're in the area, but personally, I wouldn't wait more than 10 minutes in line for it.

I thought it was going to be a cliche cheesy over-the-top tourist restaurant, but it was the complete opposite. Does it get busy and filled with tourists, yes, but the decor is pleasant, the wait staff attentive, and the food and drinks were on point! We were both in that state where you're not super hungry but you should probably eat something. We got well made/ balanced cocktails, shrimp cocktail with what I believe were fried crackers, (their cocktail sauce is the real deal with real horseradish in it, this is the way cocktail sauce should be, other restaurants take notes). We also got raw oysters (glad to see they had a seperate menu for them listing species, size, etc), their namesake Oyster Rockerfeller (a bit of a let down unfortunately), my girl got the crab gazpacho (very tomato forward with big bits of real crab) and I got the Cajun Blackened Shrimp & Grits (Big Bay/ southern flavors in this, huge shrimp and creamy comforting grits). The irony is not lost on me, we ordered a lot of food for not being super hungry but it was well worth it! While there are many seafood restaurants in/ around Bodega Bay, this one is not to be missed!

Still a phenomenal dining experience with everything from ambiance to service to food being what you would expect from a restaurant of this level!
