Over 500 sodas, candy from all over the world and the prices are not too bad and definitely competitive. The more you buy, the cheaper it is. Buy 4 bottles and save. 90 cents, buy 6 and save even more. They have 4-pack cardboard containers with handles to hold your fizz. My absolute fave is Big Red, kind of a carbonated slight bubble gum flavoring. Okay so yep I admit it, I wanted first to review. Small bag of candy is $5.99 and larger bag is $7.99 and you can stuff that bag full of the big selection of salt water taffy that Rocket Fizz has, you do not even need to close it, fill it to the brim and it is same price and they will put on another bag in case if fallout! Yes you heard it here, not selling by the pound, so it is a great deal. Thirsty for a cold bottle, they have you covered. Cold drinks in the fridge with bottle opener at counter where you pay. The manager was following my friend and i around the store the entire time we were browsing. She continuously hovered over us even peaking into my shopping bag. She was also incredibly rude. My friend picked up an item then put it back down on our way out, the manager then chased after us demanding we give her what she thought we had stolen, which we didnt. We promptly walked with her back inside to show her where we placed the item. She said my apologies then nothing else. Seems like there have been many other reviews with similar accusations. A fun little store to walk through with a lot of interesting sodas and candy. There were a couple rare gems here and there but I wouldn't come looking for a discontinued soda, especially if it is a big brand name. Although almost half of the sodas seemed to be gimmicky flavours like "fog" or "turkey," we did manage to find two that turned out to be really nice. Smuggler's Cove was blue soda that tasted like coconut and we also found a cute Aggretsuko energy drink that wasn't too bad. There were a couple of Japanese Kit Kats but not any which were uncommon in the Southern California area. We did find some larger, seemingly European Kit Kats that we have never seen before. The Cookies & Cream and Tiramisu flavours were very good and we ended up taking them home with us when we left CA. This is a good place to drop by if you are trying to kill time before a movie or dinner. You never know what you could find! read more

Terrible customer service. Very nasty and rude. One of the ladies working followed me and my black mom around the store and even tried to accuse my mom for stealing until she realized the merchandise was still in the store. It's really ridiculous that they would discriminate against us and put something like stealing under our belt just because of the color of our skin. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Today my son was in there with friends and was accused of stealing. First of all my son is 12 he had my credit card and cash to spend so he doesn't need to steal nor would he. His friends had money too and in the past they've bought many items in this store which were so over priced. Today they were told they weren't allowed to return back to the store because the woman working in there was so rude and accusatory. How can you run a business when you treat customers poorly. Japan, Germany, Mexico -just to name a few! You'll even find candy you thought was discontinued! They also have plenty of sugar-free options! They also offer a myriad of soda pop! All the flavors you can think of and from so many different places! (I took a picture of some of the wacky flavors you'll find here) And ahhh! I found a bunch of Diet sodas flavored with Stevia! In case you don't know, this is the ideal zero calorie sweetener since it is natural and not chemically-based like Splenda/Equal. They also offer some very cool tins ($15.99) that you can hang on your wall! They are to look as the tin signs that stores would put up to advertise a product back in the day. I happened to stumble in while walking around at the Spectrum, and it's no where near as great as the other candy store by Veggie Grill / Carousel. This one is way better.. you gotta check it out! It's like Powell's Candy shop, the one in Long Beach & Colorado, but I think I like the atmosphere here better. Brighter lighting and more spacious, not as cramped and dark like Powell's, and no Willy Wonka movie playing in the background... For a candy and soda store, this is pretty much a one-stop shop. This particular store carries so many different kinds of fizzy sodas -- some which make fun little gifts for friends. They have virtually every flavor and brand. If they don't, they can probably find it for you. Same goes for candy -- you'll find candies from all over the world and in every flavor. Dozens of taffy flavors, Pocky varieties, the elusive Green Tea Kit Kat, and more. Yeah, you can probably find some of these if you travel all the way to J-town or K-town in LA but who wants to make that drive for candy. CANDY!!! Really, that's all that matters! Rocket Fizz must be a new shop, or maybe it's because I haven't been to the Spectrum in awhile that I never noticed this place. Either way, it's important to note that they have a TON of candy! I wanted to eat everything. Highlights: the wonderful wall of soda (including Big Red, which truly tastes like the color red!!), the barrels of taffy (a small bag runs for $5.99 I think), the small table of Japanese candy including green tea flavored Kit-Kats and Strawberry Oreo thingies, the candy cigarettes that I used to buy from the ice cream man (mom never told me what I couldn't spend my allowance on)....I could go on but I'm coming down from my sugar rush. :P Candy is a helluva drug. read more

Pretty awesome candy store. The other one at the spectrum closed so I had to come to this one. They don't have loose candy that you can bag so that kind of sucks. However, the variety is pretty good and there's a lot of candy that isn't sold in regular stores. They also have a good amount of foreign candies. I don't drink soda so I'm not really tempted to try all the sodas but they look really cool. And they also have random gifts like life size card board cut outs. My kids love this place. It has perhaps the best selection of boutique sodas in glass bottles anywhere, and a decent selection of candies and other related items. The vibe is all fun, and the displays attract the walkers-by just for the curiosity factor. I was in there maybe five minutes on a Sunday afternoon, and I was approached at least four times by a wanting-to-be-helpful staff member. (Or maybe she thought I was on the prowl to steal a soda?) If you get a chance, pop in and check out the labels on the different sodas. One set was devoted to facist dictators from around the world, complete with handsome portraits. Lots of unique flavors as well. If my youngest daughter was rating this place, it would be a five star all the way. For me? First of all, I am definitely not one to complain about purchasing one of a kind chotchkes, knick-knacks, Hello Kitty Pez dispensers, I have a super collection of my own, and I am supportive of my fellow consumers who want to spend money on one of a kind candies and sodas that are truly "hard to find" or are limited editions. But hold on, and take a moment. Please wake up and smell that "Swedish fish" and notice that this place is totally ripping from you and your wallet. Prices on novelties like tin lunch boxes, singing pickles and Sarcasm signs are astronomically priced as well as British Candies such as Turkish Delight and Aero Bars. There is hope out there at better rates! To inform you fellow Yelpers, I will mention a store with the "world" in it, also a local grocery with "Fresh" and Asian convenience Markets that are further down on Jamboree in Irvine that has everything "Matcha" "Hello Kitty" and more! If you are loyal to the Rocket, I understand that you are considering the fact of two things: 1.) The convenience of purchasing locally at the Spectrum and 2.) You are purchasing at the Spectrum. What can I say? Anyone that carries Peach Nehi is pretty darn awesome in my book! Dropped in today, just to check this place out, and there it was....my favorite Peach Nehi! I haven't had this in years! While browsing around I was taken back to my years growing up. All the candy I used to buy with the money I made mowing lawns and painting addresses on curbs to my neighbors! How fun this store is with all kinds of goodies! The lady at the register was very rude. My friends and I went here to get candy before watching a movie. Three out of the four of us decided that we didn't want anything so one of my friends and i went outside to wait while the other two stuck together in the line. We found some of the seats that were outside so we decided to just sit down and wait for the others. Next thing we see was the lady from the cash register fast walking out of the store towards us. (We had only seen this lady once because we asked where some of the candy was) She came over to us and pointed at my friends bag and asked, "Where did you get that? Why do you have that?" (My friend already had some candy that she brought with her) We we're both really confused so we look and see that she was pointing at the urban outfitters bag by friend put on the floor. So my friend tells her that it's from urban outfitters. (the lady was not having it) The lady then points at the candy in the bag and asks again, "Where did you get that? Why do you have that?" My friend pulled it out and said that she brought it from her home. The worker then says that she saw my friend pick up candy that was on the shelf, so we told her that we put everything back where we found it. Next thing we see is her with the candy in her hand and say that she was looking for the store logo on it. (i understand that it may be for security reasons, but it did not give her the right to take it from my friend before asking for permission) We watched as she flipped the candy looking for the logo, that was not there, then put the candy down and walk away. Not even an apology was said. I get that we are teens and look like we would steal, but she didn't have to right to take something out of my friends personal stuff. Memory Lane! It's almost like going back to the good old days. They have a wide selection of soda pop and old vintage style candies, gadgets, toys and signs. Inside is well lit and well organized. I found staff there to be very helpful and attentive. Prices are a little exaggerated but it's a shop and well expected. They have a really awesome selection of salt water taffy candy - I like that. On the outside, this place looks like your average candy store. However, as soon as you walk in, it features so much more than candy. They have an endless selection of sodas to choose from, some names that I can't even understand how and why they were made. Ranch Dressing Soda, Bacon Soda, Buffalo Wings Soda....I think I'd pass on those, but they sure sound interesting! They have real-sized celebrity cut-outs from TV sitcoms such as Big Bang Theory, a million kinds of candy, a numerous selection of sodas you'd never find at a typical grocery market, and much more. A nice novelty store that leans towards some nostalgic times. A variety of candy and pop for everyone around the world to enjoy. Although a bit high on the price and mixed on its decor, that's to be expected. Why point out the obvious...but of course I will for others that commented. 1st it's in Irvine, and Spectrum of all places, so rent is one of the highest...so there's your answer to the prices. Irvine also keeps raising their rent yearly, they take part of your profit, and they charge heavy for maintenance. If you don't believe me then speak with their property management. 2nd, like every thing in Irvine the places are cookie cut or faux styled. I would give them a 5 Star if they recycled when giving back the bottles. (so I don't feel as bad using them) And carry more of a variety in their refrigerated beverage section. This store will bring you joy! They got all sorts of sweets and sodas, any flavors one can think of. They got a full selection of Taffy Candies. I went there for some watermelon flavor taffy, and one of the gal working there name Palisa started helping me and suggesting some other cool flavors, Cinnamon and the Blueberry, and they were to die for. Omg ridiculous. I called to see if they have a certain type of candy and the lady first of all picks up the phone with a "Hello". I wasn't sure if I called the correct number. Rocket Fizz is undoubtedly a fun shop to peruse. Lots of unique inventory in the soda and candy department. Stopped in today and was in something of a rush as I was on my lunch break and needed to get back to the office. I purchased four sodas as the sign listed a price break at that quantity. However, I realized later when looking at my CC receipt that I'd been charged the individual price. Not sure if it was an error or just an exclusion to that pricing that I didn't notice, but at any rate the pricing is far too extreme for what I was buying. I'll shop elsewhere. read more

Hi everyone & happy new year. I stop by to this location I was looking to buy a chocolate bar. So I pick Bounty which found near the door but when I checked the expiration date I found out expired. I let the lady work there to know that info so to remove it from the shelve. She said: "Oh that's true" then she put it back and back to finish her business. Please check the expiration dates for you & your kids health. Thanks Update 2.1.2022 I visit this store today. Thanks god the business owner look at my previous review & remove the expired chocolate. The positive part of my today's visit that I found my preference chocolate with valid date. When I enter the store I meat the same lady in my previous visit. she was working on putting the chocolate on the shelf while she talking with someone in his EarPods no greeting but she look at me while I am checking my favorite chocolate next her. She seem think I am trying to listening to her conversation. While I am busy checking the chocolate and the expiration date. Then I move to check out she ask me if I need something else. I said " no thanks, but could you please check the expiration date for me? " She look at me then to the chocolate then she put her finger on the expiration date and read it for me. She answer my question but I felt like she want to say " how you could not see it" but she didn't say it but her attitude say it. I'm so glad there's a Rocket Fizz in Irvine Spectrum! There's salt-water taffy, retro candy bars, giant pixie sticks, and a whole lot more. I love trying all the weird flavors of soda as well. My favorites are the grapefruit soda (not too crazy) and the banana flavor soda with a hilarious label of Castro on the bottle. That said, I still have an apple jalapeno soda to try, which I hope is just as good as the others I've tried. read more

I need 2 root canals and 4 fillings just looking around in this place! This is not a chocolate lovers dream, this is straight sugar. I mean candy, old school wrapped or boxed candy and soda. Did I forgot to mention the soda? Well, let me tell you, they have just about every American made soda I've seen. I'm not talking about Coca Cola and Pepsi, I'm talking about New York seltzer, haven't seen since I was twelve, root beer soda! This place is supposed to be the ultimate gift shop but it is really the ultimate gift shop for the true candy and soda lover. They have it all from bottle caps to nerds. And they have the original throwback packaging. Walking through this store truly made me happy. It took me back, way back....too far back.
