I absolutely love this candy store. It's a must that I pop in every time I come to the Balboa pier. I love that they have every old school candy that you can think of. The stuff is always super friendly. I also love that the new space is bigger. My favorite part is the bubble gum cigarettes which are so hard to find. Best place to stop by for some nostalgia

Such a fun place to visit. You'll be saying "oh I remember this" a lot. There is a lot of different taffy flavors and a lot of nostalgia here. I brought home some sour belts and gummy candies. The pricing is obviously steep, but why not support a small business.

My grandsons with bags of happiness, lol! Thanks Balboa Candy, great selection.

Took a drive from Orange to get some of that famous salt water taffy & iconic Candy and we weren't disappointed! Cant wait to go back!

Super awesome little candy store. Friendly people behind the sales counter and an amazing variety of candy. Not only is there a ton of crazy taffy flavors, but they have a bunch of old school candies that we all loved as kids and it's hard not to just buy everything you see. Stand out taffy flavors were the chili mango, buttered popcorn and pickle. Nice and clean store with great looking display.

    Sooooo much candy!

All the candy your heart could desire! This is candy heaven. It doesn't look like much from the outside. But inside, is packed with taffy in every flavor. And I mean everyyyyyy flavor! So many taffy options. I didn't even know taffy had such diversity. I grabbed one of the ore-made variety packs of taffy that come in the cute little bags. It says Newport Beach and has a cute dolphin on it. And then we grabbed one of every flavor. So we could try them all. There was only one watermelon flavored left!! That seems to be a popular flavor! They also has some super Mario brothers inspired candies that looked fun. The gummy sushi's and pizzas too. Lots of rock candy and licorice in different flavors. They have ring pops, airheads, and candy necklaces too. Such a cute little candy shop! If you have a sweet tooth, you are bound to find something here.

Five stars for friendly service. 2-3 stars for the products. Although this is every kids dream, it should be a concerned parents nightmare. All the taffy is made with artificial colors (like Red 40 & Blue 1) linked to autoimmune diseases and premature wrinkles/baldness. Most of the other packaged candies had high fructose corn syrup. I find superior ingredients and better pricing at Trader Joe's.

So nostalgic and so fun!! You won't be disappointed.. everything is well stocked, clean and so organized. They loved my little 4 year old and it made me so happy. Thank you!!

Balboa candy is located on balboa island in Newport Beach California. It is a corner store that is easy to find with ample side street parking. Today we took the ferry over to balboa island specifically to get some salt water taffy. Balboa Candy has a very large supply of salt water taffy and they also have a multitude of flavors to choose from. All salt water taffy is peanut free too fyi. So if you have a peanut allergy, you're good. They even have a peanut butter flavored salt water taffy that is completely safe to eat and peanut free. The staff here is super friendly and knowledgeable and we make it a point to stop in on every trip to Newport Beach to show our support for the local business. Prices are reasonable and the selection of candy is vast. There are also some candies that aren't salt water taffy as well as some retro sodas too. I can imagine that this candy store is somewhat reminiscent of days gone by. Give them a try when you're on the island, you won't regret it. They also have a location on the balboa peninsula by the Fun Zone and Daveys locker.

Pixi Sticks... $0.99 each! What ??

This is a super fun candy shop in Balboa Island! Baskets filled with saltwater taffy, throwback candy and most of the classics. Unfortunately, it's also the most pricy shop I have seen. We did buy a few fun items like candy dots and candy slime. Definitely worth a stop if you are local.

What a great place to drop a wad of cash and contribute to lots of cavities. I am not going to lie. I saw the Candy sign and dragged my party inside. So much candy. So many different candies. I spent about $25.00 on candy that was in my belly within 2 days. They have everything here. If your a Salt water taffy fan they have barrels and barrels of that in every single flavor. Lots of fudge, rock candy, lollipops, bumblebee gum. Anything and everything at 2030 prices. If you like candy. You will like this place. Your wallet may not like it. Staff is friendly and super nice.

Please do not skip dessert. Their cheesecake is one of the best I've ever had (including NYC cheesecake). Each month they have a different flavor cheesecake and literally every flavor we have tried has been phenomenal. We even ordered a full pumpkin cheesecake for Thanksgiving ($90) and it was the star of the dinner. Our entire dinner party LOVED the cheesecake. Once we tell our daughter we are going to Romano for dinner, she will immediately say "If I eat my dinner, can I have cheesecake?"
