Needed to replace a side table top that was broken during a move and I had no idea where I could find a place to due this cheaply because it's an awkward size. Randomly looked through this Home Depot and found lots of materials that were hard enough that could work and were able to be cut to order for cheap. I've written to corporate and no response/care. I've also spoken to the manager but I don't see any improvements at the Pickett Rd location. HD, you should be so fortunate that we live in a congested area and that customers require some of your products for repairs and improvements. Today, I asked 2 reps to find a different color lid for a bin and oh my! You'd think I asked them to give me a kidney. One barely spoke English and his tone was extremely disrespectful. At one point, he yelled, "LISTEN, LISTEN" "I am a cashier only" when I asked if he could find a different color lid. The other rep (in the customer service area) with a nasty nose ring was also not interested in helping and his tone was equally as concerning. I told my daughter to place the bins down and we walked out. I've been going to this HD location bc of convenience but I am happy to say that today they converted me to a Lowe's customer. I asked an employee if they carried carbon monoxide detectors. They had no idea and had to look on their phone. Then I bought a thermostat by bringing up the paper as instructed at the display. I handed it to an employee at the cage. She starts pointing at random other boxes made by different brands and different colored packaging. The paper clearly stated the brand and model name and number. I had to keep saying Honeywell over and over. Finally I found it myself. All this to say employees are clueless and not helpful. Since the storm door needed was not in this store, I ordered the door to be delivered and picked up there. Low-e glass in the door was desired. With timing of installation an issue, the clear glass was ordered, although delivery would take two weeks and low-e glass involved a one month delay. The storm door was installed but I quickly realized low-e glass was needed. I contacted the store 4 days after installation to arrange a return of this clear glass panel and replacement with a low-e glass panel, a replacement component that is available by the manufacturer. Rico, the department manager, would in no way assist in this exchange unless the entire storm door unit was returned to the store. Only then he stated he might help. He stated all such service after sale must be done through the manufacturer, Andersen storm doors. Customer service is terrible at this store. Unless you are looking for just hardware and not any appliance or other manufactured item, AVOID THIS STORE. read more

Visited the store for help I picking out a water heater. They referred me to a group, Fairfax Electric and Water, that does installation work for them. Home Depot says this initial contact is supposed to set an appointment for someone to look at the space, but this group's rep considered that unnecessary. By phone, this "expert" strongly recommended a water heater that, I soon realized, was much fancier and expensive than I had wanted and also -- more important -- would not fit into the space I have. (I had mentioned this space limitation right at the start.). It turned out that I don't even need a new water heater -- the leak I saw was coming from somewhere else. So: failure to evaluate first as promised, outrageous upsell and inappropriate selection of recommended item. TERRIBLE! Will never contact them again. One star only because I can't choose zero. home depot sold me a defective GE Range. The cord to the range was miswired.Upon first use, it sparked, caused electrical smoke and malfunctioned. Home depot customer service was useless. They blamed deliver company which it could not name and noted its policy that an appliance could not be returned after 48 hours. I had only used for first time after 40 hours. Product damaged my electrical system, almost caused a fire, shocked me, and does not work properly. Home DEPOT products are dangerous, and it does not back up its product in any way. read more

We bought a decently expensive AC Unit here and when we got home and unpackaged it we realized it was used. There was animal hair all over the inside of the box and the unit was still on, even after being re-boxed up and glued shut. They double taped the box and used hot glue to make the box look like it had never been opened. Extremely deceptive. The customer service person at the store lied to us and tried to pass it off as brand new. Management did nothing to try to rectify the situation. Pretty shady and disappointing to see from Home Depot. Off to Lowe's we go! read more

This store went downhill over the years. Went in to purchase some tiles the other day. People at the front counters by the entrance dont even greet you, just look at you weird. Passed by 10 different employees and not one single person asked if i needed assistance.. back in the day i remember the employees always greet and assisted you with pride.Anyways i couldn't find what i was looking for and an old man employee from flooring was in the aisle so i said exscuse me sir, he didnt acknowledge me and then looked at me as if i was burdening him. Like c'monnnnn you hate your job just find a different job wtf! Workers walked by and no one wants to help. Only one friendly person there and that was the lady at the registers with the braids. This store has been going downhill for a while in terms of customer service, with no associates available to help. And just asinine. Tonight was ridiculous. The whole front end was closed off by an orange caution fence, and some little sign was taped inside the one entrance door that you couldn't even read from the parking area where you were supposed to be walking. Did anyone not think to tape a copy of the sign to the caution fence so people knew which door to go to? I went to the first door. The second door was exit only the large double doors were closed and that's when I said forget it. I need to make a quick couple of purchases about two or $300 and that business has now gone to Amazon who will deliver it to my house tomorrow. I wanted it tonight because I wanted to finish something tonight, but the ridiculous practices of this Home Depot yet again , stymied my plans. They were open for another hour and I was not playing find the open door. I'm sorry you can put a sign that is clear an arrow saying this way would suffice. Not a sign taped inside a door that isn't under caution tape. I saw people jumping the Barrier and going over to the door to read it and I just laughed and said forget it's not worth it. This is not the first time I've had an issue there refrigerator couple months ago that I looked online was told was in stock came to the department after 20 minutes. I went to Best Buy and bought a more expensive refrigerator that I liked better that wasn't on the floor at Home Depot. I know that a refrigerator for a few thousand dollars and a couple of hundred dollars tonight is not going to break the store, but the business is going to competitors because what's the use of dealing with a store that cares so little of customers in a dark parking lot that you have to walk halfway cross it to try to find a door that's open? Just close the store early next time or do whatever has to be done at a time when someone has the brilliant idea to either use gorilla tape to tape a sign to the barrier or put a sign out tape to a piece of wood where someone could actually read it from where they're supposed to be standing. read more

This rating is to give praise to Zayne (who operates the forklift) and Josh/James from the customer service desk. I come to this Home Depot all the time because it is close to me but they went above and beyond to help me get some items that I wanted this time. I actually asked other associates for the garden center for assistance but they mainly said they weren't sure where the items were and that they would go and check for me. All fine and well except that they never got back to me. I went over to customer service to see if they did have the items in stock as listed in the website and Josh went out of his way to help me figure it out. Turns out they were in a palette all the way to the top so that's when Zayne came in to help us get the items down and unbox them. I ended up getting several different items from the palette because it was actually everything I was looking at on the website ( they were all from the same brand) and neither made a fuss about having to go through all the trouble. Even when I told them that if it's too much, I would be ok, they brushed it off and said that if I wanted the items, they were fine going through the trouble. Thank you so much! read more

Begrudgingly I recommend this Home Depot. I call it "Home Deposit," as they get all my money. This isn't all their fault, as have been redoing part of my house lately. Paint is more expensive than ever, but thanks to inflation, don't look in the lumber section. The lumber I carry around cried, as this wood is rather pricey. Yet again inflation. I hope the rumor of wood going down is true. They have a lot of cleaning supplies. Decent prices too. This location isn't as busy as some. Also excellent employees. I've been grateful as unbelievable I was able to properly fix a problematic toilet, and also found some plants to put out. This has made the house look better. Also have birdseed for the feeder, so my feathered friends get hooked up. And the squirrels. Good place to go. Sure it's huge, but everything under one roof. read more

5/3/21 Yesterday I needed to stop by HomeDepot for weed wacker cable. The store was pretty crowded, but I was happy to see people still wearing their masks. I found the product I needed and was able to aquire it and check myself out at the register. Everything was quick and easy to do. I like the self checkout, but it does take away jobs from employees. I finally decided to try one more store and when I tell you I hit the jackpot with customer service, I'm not exaggerating. I have a hard time making decisions. I met Mark in flooring and he showed me the tile section. I needed tiles for my bathroom floor, wall, and backsplash. He walked me through the pros and cons, made recommendations, and helped me spend $1200. I was so relieved to have professional help. He was very knowledgeable about the products and professional. This man went above and beyond to assist to the very end. He loaded my car and ensured I had all the additional items I needed. I have never felt this happy about shopping ever! Cancelled my tool rental reservation hours before pickup. I had opted in to text updates and didnt receive cancelation notice (despite receiving text confirmation when I booked). Called the store to try to rebook or understand the issue and twice phone rung then declined call with no answer after being routed to tool department. Terrible service here. Have been here several times and had issues. The first came when I ordered paint online and picked it up only to find that they gave me white, unblended paint. I had to pay for an extra hour of my painter's time while we went to the store and tried to sort the mistake out. No one apologized. Just now I tried to make a $325 return for extra materials I bought earlier this week (note I bought extra based on Home Depot's own calculations of the amount I would need, which was wrong). I provided an online receipt but my return was denied. The return slip they handed me indicated that I had not provided a receipt. I tried to ask customer service why it said that and they had no explanation and were unable to offer help. They didn't listen at all as I tried to convey that the information on the receipt was not matching with the information they had provided. Several others were also having trouble getting returns while we were there. I will say that most of them were pleasant to talk to but their refusal to acknowledge the discrepancy between their own narrative and what was provided on the return slip was concerning. I am now stuck with $325 worth of extra material and no recourse. I'll also note that when they delivered the materials earlier this week they only delivered half and we had to call and track down the rest which were accidentally delivered elsewhere. HD is our "go to" for plants because of their amazing policy; if the plant dies within a year- they replace it free! (Yes, let me repeat that, they replace it for free but f/when it dies!) This review is specific to an online order delivered to this store. It's a clown show of incompetence. DO NOT PLACE AN ONLINE ORDER FOR DELIVERY TO THIS HOME DEPOT. It's great to order something on the Home Depot website for store delivery -- I was able to find some storage shelves that fit my needs very well. I have since learned that this is shipped in two boxes: one for the four shelves, and a second box for four posts. So even though I'm not thrilled with my history of so-so service at this particular Home Depot, at least it's close to where I live. And how could they mess this up? It's just a delivery that I will pick up. I was so wrong: They screwed it up twice. So I ordered the shelves. A few days later, I got a message that they were ready for pickup. The associate brought me a long, narrow box that could not possibly fit my shelves without altering the laws of physical space. I told him that there must be more; this box might only be the posts (which should be over 80 inches in length), but not the shelves. He went back to look and returned with another associate who initially wanted to open the long narrow box to see if it actually contained my shelves that were at least 18" deep (their shortest dimension). I stopped him and showed him that the label showed this box was only 2 of 2. There must be a '1 of 2' box that came with it. They assured me that this was the only box in my delivery. What's the solution? I had to return the long, narrow box, get a refund, and place a new order. A week later, the same drill. However, this time, a different associate brought me two large boxes that appeared to fit the dimensions for shelves, but without the long narrow box that probably holds the posts. I asked. And the associate assured me that these two boxes were exactly what I ordered. I doubted it, but I took the two boxes home to find that it was two sets of shelves with no posts. Exactly what I had suspected. I contacted the store which was completely useless, they told me to contact a central Home Depot number -- also useless -- they told me to contact the store. I also looked at the shipping labels on the boxes. One was actually dated for the first order. when they told me ONLY the '2 of 2' long narrow box had arrived. So they gave me a box of recently arrived shelves and the shelves that had originally arrived with my first order a week earlier but no box with posts! The store told me the only option was to return for a refund and order again. (Not, "let us check for the posts or another box".) WHAT IDIOCY! How can they screw up so badly? Twice? Thankfully, inside the box, there was information from the vendor. I tried contacting the vendor directly who agreed to send me the missing posts to my home address. The vendor also had records showing that they had shipped one set of posts and one set of shelves, at two different times to this store in my name. It was Home Depot, this location that cannot handle something so basic as an order consisting of two boxes. I don't have words for this level of incompetence. read more

I went in on the morning of May 19th and filled out a survey from the code on my receipt; I was only allowed 500 words, so the reply I received from an Asst Store Manager named Earl only referenced the first 10% of the problem. When I replied to his email (email below), I received NO REPLY: Earl, I definitely WON'T be back to the store, all I recall is that he was 50's/60's but the dragging me around the store is not what I was annoyed about (although it certainly doesn't help): While we were walking back to where I wanted to be (simple, $8.00 cord) we passed a few guys (customers) who were speaking in another language, and your employee commented to me that "you can go an hour in this store and never hear anyone speaking English". Perhaps he thought it was OK to say this to a white woman carrying a purse, rather than a usual customer who might be a contractor - bit it definitely was NOT. At some point, everyone's relatives came to the US from somewhere else, many of whom did not speak English (and if they could, maybe could not read it). This was only the 2nd time I was in your location, but definitely the last. read more

I debated coming here to review my experience, which was kind of a mixed bag, but ultimately I'm still mad about it four days later. The cable controlling the drive belt in my Toro gas push lawnmower broke while I was cutting the grass. Since I've been fairly overwhelmed with work and life in general, I thought that I'd take it up to have it replaced at Home Depot and have my mower serviced at the same time. The staff who helped me check in was fantastic, I thought I was off to a great start and a hopefully painless experience. The following afternoon, I received a call from the mechanic, Bob, saying that my mower was ready to be picked up and that he didn't have the cable in stock but did have one from another machine so he put that on and wouldn't charge me for it. I was a little confused because I hadn't received a phone call about approving the estimate, but my lawnmower was fixed and serviced. I wasn't able to pick it up that day, so I picked it up the following morning. I noticed that the control cover was missing, but being still overwhelmed and flustered over other unrelated things, dealing with this wasn't my highest priority. I get my lawnmower home, start it to make sure it works, and put it away in the garage where it lives. I don't think about my lawnmower again for another 5 days, when it's time to cut the grass. I get it to start and it takes me a few tries, but it starts and it sounds okay. Not 100%, I can tell that the engine is misfiring a little. It'a also not a new mower, so I figure maybe there's some gunk inside that got jostled around. I do check the oil and never keep old gas in it. I decide this issue might resolve itself. I fill one bag, stop, empty it, and it takes 3-4 tries to get the mower going again. This time, the engine sounds weaker and like it might stop every time I turn a corner. Not good. So I fill another bag. Wash, rinse, repeat. Third time, however, I cannot get the engine to start. I know how to operate the machine, I bought it 12 years ago and I'm the only one in my household who even touches it. What I know next to nothing about is how exactly engines work. I call the shop and leave a message with staff explaining what's going on, since they were the last ones to work on it. Bob calls me back, I miss the call, but he says to bring it in and that we'll troubleshoot. I'm frustrated. Very frustrated. But I bring it in, Bob meets me outside. I try to explain what's going on. He starts the mower no problem. (I'm thinking GREAT... Just GREAT! This is sarcasm, btw.) He has it run for a while. I can still hear that the engine doesn't sound right. It shakes, it pops a little, and when it's my turn to get the engine started, it takes me 3 tries. Now, I'm a little person, but as I mentioned before, I'm the one who uses this lawnmower. Bob gives me a lecture about how I'm not starting it correctly and that I need more strength, etc. I try to just ignore this. He reminds me that he did me a favor by not charging me for the cable. I agree and tell him that I do appreciate that. That is also wholly unrelated to my current problem. He asks me where the control cover is and I tell him that I noticed it was missing when I picked it up and that I need to get it from his shop before I leave this time. We actually argue about this piece of plastic. I don't know if he really looked for it, but he does go into the back and return empty handed. (I should mention that I cannot purchase this part second-hand. I've scoured every corner of the internet--it just does not exist anymore.) I try cutting some of the grass on the side of the building and it seems okay, but the engine still doesn't sound right. Bob reiterates that he didn't do anything but change the air filter, spark plug and fix the cable. He lets me know he can send the engine off to be serviced and that it will take 3-4 weeks (This is accurate, and this same engine was sent off for service in 2016 through Home Depot.) Whatever. He lost my control cover and clearly isn't going to touch my machine again. I go home. I'm angry. And then my neighbor comes over who works on car engines. He and his dad heard me that morning and thought there was something very wrong with my lawnmower because it didn't sound right. We go over everything that's been done to my mower since I first took it in. We check the air filter, it looks good. We check the drive cable, it's great. Then we remove the spark plug... (cue me getting my first lesson in spark plugs). The gap was almost non-existent. Neighbor happened to have a new one for his mower that was compatible with mine and as soon as we installed the new one, my engine ran perfectly again. Tldr: Home Depot lost the control cover for my lawnmower that cannot be replaced and installed a spark plug with incorrect gapping causing the engine to run poorly. read more

So I went in to get a grill, came out with a whole lot of appreciation. They have some good folks working the customer service and home garden department. Best way to judge a business is to see how its leadership deals with customer issues, and Justin along with new manager in training did very well. My issue was to get the grill on close out price, but it was on display. The employee in that Dept. refused to give me the grill as "we don't sell display models". Though the grills outside are showing rust, and I really want the grill on display. No matter, spoke with the Asst. Manager, Justin and he came thru in spades. Not only that, But Larry and Will were great and helped load everything in my truck and were incredibly nice about it. Will actually wiped it off clean before loading it. There are two Home Depots near me and this is my favorite of the two. Parking is easy and convenient to the store entrance. Like other Home Depots this store offers a plethora of home improvement stuff. They have basic items like light bulbs as well as advanced tools for professionals and highly skilled hobbyists. This store is clean but like most Home Depots it is sometimes difficult to find an associate when one has questions -- especially on the weekends when this place is swamped. Customer service is typically good - consistent with other big box home improvement stores. read more
