Would never recommend this place to anyone else, When we first were asking about the apartment they outright refused to show us the apartment and "claimed" they were "cleaning" it - When we moved in it was absolutely filthy, the carpet had a lot of black stains, the chandelier had a lot of black dust and so did the fans along with spider webs everywhere, its like it was included in the apartment package, the tub was clogged and so was the sink and they never ever fixed, and this without mentioning the extremely noisy water faucets in the bathrooms - The bathroom floors were disgusting, and the A/C was non functional, the only thing it was good for was a waste of electricity and money, $650 PG&E bill in July/August - When we asked them to fix it they never repaired nor replaced it - When we moved out we gave them the apartment in a cleaner condition then when they gave it to us - And After ALL THAT they still charged us around $800+ that's $300 dollars more then the $500 deposit. If i could give them 0 stars i would, management are a bunch of liars - They will come up with anything to scam you - Would never recommend, Save your money and spare yourself the headache of dealing with these people. read more

Horrible place to live. If you review the reviews from over 5 years ago it was a great living environment and I agree but as of the past five years HORRIBLE STAFF, HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT, HORRIBLE INFESTATIONS, HORRIBLE TIMELINESS ON REPAIRS everything is hurry up and wait unless it's for their rent or them harassing you over how they feel about you as a person . They are racist and they try to disguise and cover it up. They lie and try to get over on you financially. And to top it all off there is ALWAYS someone missing in the office. My office and maintenance team at this complex are by far my favorite, and I've lived in a lot of places. Every time I've needed assistance with anything, my calls are answered or returned right away, and within the same day, I'm getting help with whatever needs tending too in my unit. Maintenance team goes above and beyond, I feel like family. Couldn't feel more welcomed into this complex. I've been here for over a year now and I wouldn't change anything. Looking for a great place to call home in the rocklin/Roseville area? This place is it. The staff make this little community feel like HOME. Its safe, clean, grounds are well kept and maintenance requests are taken SERIOUSLY. They don't string you alone about these things. Me and my fiancé lived there for almost 4 years before having to leave due to no available 2 beds but always reccomend it to those looking for a new apartment to stay in long term. The tenants are quiet and respectful. We never had a problem with anyone we lived around. Pets are friendly and owners are respectful about cleaning up after their dogs. Landscapers keep this place looking great and pest control keeps the nasty critters away. We only ever saw ants during the summer at times, but with ant traps this wasn't a problem either. Just Visited!! We never lived here but since there are no reviews this may help other apartment shoppers. We were not impressed, even the model smells a little smoky (either smokers or the fireplace) and the little fixes like cabinets and counters are poorly done. The manager didn't have the key to the unit we would rent (so we couldn't see it, even on a scheduled visit). Ok so I am someone who lives and breathes by yelp reviews ( taken with a grain of salt) so here goes. I've only lived here a week so this review is definitely subject to change and will be updated accordingly. I looked at approximately 8 apartment complexes in the Rocklin/ Roseville/ Citrus Heights area and settled on Rocklin Gold, which coincidentally was the first one I looked at. Here's why I picked it : 1.) value for money, living in this area isn't going to be cheap, however at almost 800 sq ft for a one bedroom these prices can't be beat 2.) management is prompt, polite, and easy to deal with. Any issue I've had has been dealt with and they made moving from 3 hours away very easy in terms of move in steps and procedures 3.) beautiful and well maintained complex, lots of grass and trees which is awesome for us dog owners 4.) plenty of parking, friendly neighbors (so far) and the complex is centrally located to shopping 5.) safety! My most important detail, this complex is well lit, gated, and it truly feels safe to be out walking my dog in the evening. I'm very happy with my choice so far, and I look forward to coming home every day to my apartment here. read more

While living here was a great experience, it seems there was some dishonesty towards the end. I am not sure if it was the change of office personnel or what the case was. When the lease was coming to an end, we were sent a memo of what the updated rent would be if we chose to stay. They wanted to charge about $1750 if we were to stay month-to-month. They wanted to charge about $1460 if we renewed our lease. Hiking up the rent $200 with a renewed lease? Really? That's not even a subtle increase. After paying $1260/mo over the course of a year, there was absolutely no way we could justify paying what they were asking. So we decided to move out. Word to the wise...don't move in here if you have any hope of keeping your security deposit. Our deposit was $400. I spent an entire weekend with my partner/roommate and a friend cleaning this place -- 3 days, cleaning EVERYTHING. I was told during the preliminary walk through that if we cleaned everything that was annotated, then we would only be charged a "spruce" cleaning of $75 out of our deposit. We cleaned everything - the only thing we weren't able to fulfill was patching four holes from where we'd had mirrors hanging. We get the bill and they charged $120 for the next level above a spruce clean! There was absolutely NO WAY that apartment needed anything more than a spruce cleaning. We cleaned the floors, the walls, the appliances, the windows, the showers, the sinks...everything! We even cleaned in the little cracks and crevices that most people probably normally wouldn't think of. I'm 8 mos pregnant and I was down on my hands and knees scrubbing the bathroom floors with a scrub brush to get the excess dirt out of the textured tiles. Now let's talk about the carpet, which was a separate fee. I was told this would probably be around $100 out of our deposit, give or take, for a light cleaning. What actually ended up coming out was $250! Now, I expected that there might be some issues with the carpet because my friend helping us accidentally spilled some cleaner in the spare bedroom that discolored the carpet, so I was anticipating that would be an issue. The charge for the discoloration was $75. However, they also included a charge of $100 for an enzyme treatment??? This was in addition to the base cost of $75. The enzyme treatment is to pick up things like urine, pet odor, weird stains...there was nothing on our carpet. I cleaned the carpets myself with my own carpet cleaner which lifted any minor dirt stain that we did have (and there weren't many). In fact, during the preliminary inspection, the property manager even remarked on how nice our carpets still looked (before any cleaning had been done)! So aside from the accidental spill that caused the discoloration, there should not have been more than the minimal charge for carpet cleaning. They pretty much made sure they overcharged us on everything so there was no remaining deposit. But I guess when it's not your own money being wasted, who cares?! Am I right??? On top of everything else, somewhere in the bogus pile of documents that was sent to us, somewhere in there it said that we broke our lease!? To be clear, our lease was up on Nov 20th. When I spoke to the office lady on the phone, I told her I would pay up to the 20th, even though we might move out earlier than that. So she calculated from Nov 1 - 20. When I paid rent on the first of the month, I paid for Nov 1 - 20. We turned in our keys early, I think it may have been the 14th. But it was with the understanding that we were on good terms because we paid up to the end of our contract. The office lady even said that if they happened to get a new tenant to move in before the 20th, they would reimburse us for some of the rent. It was not a break in lease. We paid to the end of our lease, and turned in the keys early because our new residence is two hours away...so what was I supposed to to...wait until the 20th to drive all the way back up to Rocklin and turn in our keys on the exact day??? I'm sorry, but I'm about to have a kid any day now and I'm in no condition to be driving 4 hours (round trip) just to drop off a set of keys. So I don't really understand what the misunderstanding or miscommunication was with that. And I'm going to be really upset if there is a negative remark on my rental record when I did everything I was supposed to do. I am so super disappointed with how this whole situation turned out. We loved living here. We loved the people we dealt with in the office, until they changed personnel. We always paid our rent on time. We didn't cause any trouble. And this ending was how we get thanked and appreciated as customers/tenants. Just based on this alone, this dishonesty outweighs the good that was experienced and I wouldn't recommend this place to any of my friends in that area. It doesn't matter how nice a place is, if it's full of shady people, then it's just not worth it. read more

I have lived at Rocklin Gold for the last few years and I have had no reason to look/move elsewhere. The property itself is located in a great area. Super nice neighborhoods all around and only a few minutes from various shopping centers, movie theaters, and a great variety of restaurants, in any given direction. Everything one could possibly need or want is only a short distance away. The staff here have always been super helpful and friendly to work with. I have always had a great relationship with all the property managers and maintenance staff. I haven't had any serious issues in my apartment, but the minor stuff was dealt with fairly quickly. We couldn't be happier with our experience at Rocklin Gold. The apartment is spacious and well laid out, the, location is great, and we have an amazing balcony with a beautiful view. The common areas are kept nicely and suggestions for improvements are received well. The staff, led by Jessica, is professional, attentive, courteous, and responsive. We've had some issues here and there, as is normal with any home, but the maintenance staff is superb and everything has been dealt with quickly and efficiently. read more

I have been living here for the past 6 months and needless to say, this feels like home. I love it here for many reasons; the parking spaces, the environment, the management, the office staff, my neighbors, ect. I've had issues with my door lock the first week and it was resolved within 30 minutes. There's plenty of space for your doggies, lots of grass, especially by the kids playground. I hope we never have to leave! If we do leave someday, then after that if we have to move into an apartment again, I will 100% come back to Rocklin Gold! read more

My experience with the Rocklin Gold Apartment staff is always first rate, and I love my apartment. This is a small complex, and the grounds are clean and well maintained. The manager, Jesseca, and her staff, including Tracye, are very professional and personable, and I immediately felt at ease and at home with them. Previously, I'd lived in multiple states and in several countries, which made the leasing process complicated. Nonetheless, Jesseca and Tracye diligently worked to make it happen, when I'm sure they could have more easily leased the apartment to someone else, especially in the current, high-demand market. When I moved in, the apartment was newly remodeled, sparkling clean, and well maintained. After moving in, the staff quickly and cheerfully attended to the few minor requests I made. The large windows, vaulted ceiling and sliding glass doors to the private deck make the apartment bright and seem much larger than it is. There is plenty of storage, plus, I have a beautiful view of the valley. I feel fortunate to have found this gem! read more

Yes the apartments do not include granite counter tops or stainless steel appliances but they are also affordable and still in REALLY good shape. I love living here; its quiet and the maintenance responds at the drop of the hat to help with any problems. I lived there a year and was counting the days till my lease was up!I had moved from out of State and had to pick the apartment via internet. The apartments are old and needed remodeling about 10 years ago (ie. stained vinyl flooring from the 80's and peeling cabinets). This so called gated community never had a gate working more than a few days then it was broken for weeks on end. The other tenants had a broken down and unregistered cars, dumpster divers and half way through my lease I think they started accepting section 8 (noticed groups of unemployed thugs on their patios in multiple apartments).I had roaches as well. The funny thing is they wanted to up the rent over a $100 if I was renewing for another year..uh no way not for that dump.see ya! read more

The apartments themselves are awful. We had huge lizards running in and out all summer and mgmt. expects you to catch them yourself. The hot tub is ALWAYS broken. Our apt. was broken into while I was inside with my 4 year-old and our car was ransacked twice. See review by another tenant re:this. Also, ask about how half the apartments have been remodeled and half still have cabinets so splintery they cut your hands every time you open one, appliances from when they were first built instead of nice new energy star ones, and old Ac units. Our tiny shady apt. cost $180 month in summer to keep the air at 78. And dog poop is EVERYWHERE. It's the worst if you get one of the units that they never upgrade but pay the same as the ones who have nice new renos. Started out with crappy paint job and "new" carpets. And then ants were all over the kitchen. Took a while for exterminator to come out. Outlets all needed to be switched out because nothing would stay in. The office never returns my calls and the office staff is always rude. They want to increase the price for the lease but we will be moving out instead. read more

I've lived at rocklin gold for 3 years and it home to me. The place is so wonderfully kept up and the office staff is amazing. I love that our community comes together for the holidays expescially the decoration competitions. The neighbors are friendly, nice and quiet. Rocklin Golds location is perfect it is in walking distance to grocery stores, primos pizza( the best pizza I've ever had) and the galleria mall is 5 minutes away. It is truly the nicest place my family and I have ever lived in. read more

The rent was continually raised without any improvements being done. The jacuzzi never worked during the first 9 months of my lease. When I asked the leasing management when it would be fixed I was assured each time that it would be fixed "shortly". Washers and dryers are provided in each unit. Both my appliances broke down numerous times. The handyman "fixed" each time. I had to do without both for several days. No compensation for the time I had to do without. The gym and the equipment (specifically the only treadmill) seldom were maintained. Beware when it comes time to move! No matter how clean you leave the apartment, they will charge you for any and everything! Be prepared to lose your entire deposit. read more

I wanted to leave a review so other potential residents in the future could really get a good idea of what the place is like. I'm a student at Sierra, and moved into Rocklin Gold a few months ago. This place is amazing, and I'm truly being honest. It's surprisingly quiet, with only the occasional sounds of kids playing outside during the day (which I like personally, and even then you can only barely hear them). People here are very friendly, but there's also a lot of privacy which is nice as well. Amenities are great (the gym is awesome and I almost always have it to myself!) And I really have to say that the staff couldn't be friendlier. I actually seriously hope someone from management sees this because the two ladies that work there right now have been so friendly and helpful- it really put me at ease since this was my first apartment! Yes there's a small stain on my counter-top in the bathroom and the appliances aren't the newest in my particular unit. But my apartment was super clean upon move in (I was a little worried before I moved in because I smelled smoke when I took a tour through the apartment below mine- I'm really sensitive to tobacco smoke) but my apartment was really nicely taken care of! As a carpenter's daughter, I can also really appreciate the effort that was put into the building of the place. Maintenance has been super friendly and quick too! Love that it's pet and budget friendly, and that I scored with a second story unit with vaulted ceilings! Love love love this place: it's safe, it's clean, and the other tenants and staff are very friendly. I think maybe those that have had a bad experience here must have been from a few years ago because from what I can see everyone seems to love it here! For anyone looking to move in, if you're interested I would definitely suggest checking out Rocklin Gold. (Oh and they allow you to paint the walls here if you want, as long as you paint it back before you move out- how cool is that?) Anyway, really thankful I found this place! The guy who comes with the leaf blower to clear the sidewalks could stand to come a *wee* bit later in the day, but seriously if that's my biggest complaint about this place it must be pretty freaking cool haha. Thought I'd pass along the good karma and leave a nice review for future residents like myself. Initially, we really enjoyed living in the Rocklin Gold apartments. They were reasonably priced for the area and quiet. However, we chose to move when they chose to increase our rent by over $200 at renewal. While they claimed that they were "competitive" with the current market, it is criminal to increase the cost of rent this much for residents. Frankly, the place isn't worth what they're asking. The positives: -Friendly office staff -Usually they are very quick to fix things that break -The pool doesn't see a lot of use -Our neighbors mostly kept to themselves. Overall, the place was quiet. -They allow you to paint. The negatives: -The cupboard doors fall off all the time. Seriously. You open a cupboard door and it just drops off. -The linoleum in our apartment badly needed to be replaced. It had gouges in it and grime around the edges. -The office is often closed when it is supposed to be open. This is frustrating when you need to pick up a package. -The dog poop problem is real. They post letters warning people to pick up their dog poop, but then they only have ONE bag station and it runs out frequently and often for weeks at a time. If they want to fix this problem they might try installing multiple bag stations across the property and keeping the bags in stock. -The bushes are often overgrown. There was a dead plant that was at the base of our apartment pretty much since we moved in and no one bothered to remove it. -Expect to pay a lot for heating/air conditioning. If you're upstairs and have high ceilings it will be worse. The windows/doors in the living room area are drafty. -The living room windows open from the bottom and slide up. If you have small children or cats that like to escape this will be a problem. We were never able to open our windows all the way because a child/animal could EASILY fall out if they just leaned on the screen. Pretty windows, but poor design. -The vents in our bathrooms never properly worked. We had maintenance come on multiple occasions. They said they were "fixed," but the vents still only put out a trickle of air. -The gate to the complex does not consistently work. -Messy paint job - when we moved in it was clear that whoever painted wasn't interested in being neat about it. -There are little tacks that stick up in the carpet on the edges. Watch where you step. -No matter how thoroughly you clean, you won't get much of your deposit back. read more

I lived in this complex for over 3 years and never had any issues until the current management came in. They claimed they tightened the rental requirements but the caliber of people were way below what they were when I moved in. I had issues with people parking in unauthorized areas and blocking cars, 2 friends had cars broken in to and rude, loud neighbors. When I moved out, I was charged to clean blinds they replaced, for a stained, cheap bathtub that was impossible to clean (it was soaked in bleach twice) and for items that had been signed off on during my walk through. I guess we'll let the judge decide if the cleaning fee of $325 was reasonable. read more

I lived here for about 6 months. I really did like the scenery and the neighbors were quiet, friendly and respectful. Yes, there is plenty of parking and entertainment nearby. I liked that they had a shelf for all the shoes and a good sized patio. I also like how they have a real fireplace and a little nook above it However, I don't agree with them being in really good shape and fairly decently priced. Especially since I moved down the street to a much nicer apartment(well kept and modern name brand appliances) and am only paying 100 dollars more. What I really didn't like especially as a single person is that they don't individualize your water. So an top of sewer and trash I have to pay 30$ for water, which is ridiculous because a friend of mine has a house and she says that is what she pays for water and she has kids as well. SO single people beware, you are paying for not just your own water. The place I'm at now I paid less then $10.00 for water last month. Plus, don't expect to get your deposit back. They nickel and dime you for things that they should do and pay for. I was charged for light cleaning and steam cleaning the apartment. What???? I'm not a professional cleaner so of course I'm not going to be able to make it spotless and move-in ready, that's what professionals are for. Why am I being charged for this . Plus steam cleaning, which I was told that when I moved in somebody should have told me about this. I don't remember them saying anything like this so it's their word against mine because it is not in the lease, which it should be. But, why again am I paying for this???? The carpet should really be ripped out and replaced because they have pet damage done to them, which I also complained about to the previous manager. They were going to charge for extra carpet cleaning for that too, but I told them I never had a pet and I already complained about it so they did take that off. I also agree with how the model apartment smells like smoke and so did mine when I moved in. Thankfully, through no help of the apartment I found something that takes away the smoke smell. read more
