I am writing this review to warn others about a very concerning experience related to patient safety. On Saturday, when the clinic was open, I came in person because I had developing facial swelling and strong pain on the right side, clearly related to a dental infection. I explained the urgency of my condition to the front desk and asked for an evaluation. I was told there were no available appointments and was scheduled for Monday. No one attempted to assess the seriousness of my condition or involve a doctor. That same night my condition became much worse, and I had to go to the Emergency Room, where I received an antibiotic injection and prescription. On Monday, I returned to Rocklin Plaza Dental and paid $200 for an exam and X-rays. The X-rays performed were standard dental X-rays, which in many other clinics typically cost around $50-$70. I asked for a clear treatment plan and an explanation of what needed to be done. The doctor confirmed that I had an infected nerve and then left. Later, I was told that no treatment would be performed, and that I should simply finish antibiotics and return later. This was extremely alarming. I had visible swelling under my eye, which was already spreading. No emergency treatment was offered, no root canal was started, and no proper written treatment plan was provided. I was only given handwritten price notes without explanation. I immediately went to another dental clinic the same day, where I was accepted urgently and received treatment. I was told that the situation was critical, as the infection was dangerously close to my eye and could have led to serious complications. I do not recommend Rocklin Plaza Dental for urgent or emergency dental issues. The lack of urgency, communication, and professional response in a potentially dangerous situation was very disappointing. read more

The experience I had at this office was amazing. The entire staff was highly knowledgeable, respectful and compassionate. Billing practices were discussed with complete transparency. The hygienist and Dr. Dupalo were careful and thorough when it came to the actual work. The office itself is beautiful, which facilitates a calm and soothing environment. If anybody has ever been afraid to go the dentist, for whatever reason, I would recommend this facility and Dr. Dupalo many times over. Thank you so much for your care. read more

I've been going to this dental office for over 10 years. They are great. Very professional and helpful. I can't imagine going anywhere else. The dentist is amazing. He is gentle and quick. I can expect to be in and out of there in less than an hour for any treatment. As much as I hate going to the dentist, I don't mind going here. read more

Anyone knows where did Dr. Dupalo go? She was great. I know she was new in industry and the area but she was trying very hard to figure out everything. Since she left, I have been dropped by the office as they no longer accept my insurance which happens. But now I have to go through finding new dentist and start all over. I would rather find where Dr. Lena went and sign up with her if she accepts my new job insurance. Thanks Dr. Viktoriya ‍ for the update. Yeah as thorough as she was, i can't wait for 2 more years. Joined and they couldn't find problem got referred to endontist and when I called for a crown the dentist I had not a big fan had moved out of state and no other dentist were there that took my insurance so had to start fresh with a month deadline to get crown from root canal -place they recommended Creekside Endodontics were amazing but only the Folsom location so now I'm starting over took past a month to send Endo report original X-rays and sign up for smiletime dental (Folsom also near endontics place I got my root canal off of Bidwell) it's a nice area so hopefully works out for the better. and have better luck there Only employee or employer I like at plaza is viktoryia Decorated lovely little hard to find - need a bigger sign but address is correct and place next door redirected me to the front door of plaza instead of the neighboring building which is also a dental clinic It's decent but didn't have much of an experience to rate beside the phone calls with the women owner I believe Thanks Viktoryia ! read more

I honestly can't even begin to explain how awful my experience was here. This is the most rude and unprofessional dentist. Don't waste your time or money, as you can see this isn't the only review stating almost the exact same thing.. They will put you through unnecessary care this clinic is scamming people for money and taking advantage of their job. Unless doctor Akkad just has no idea how to do her job. Someone needs to sue them. Let's get a case together guys. Dentist who took care of me was Abdullah Akkad, DDS. I can't wait for the owner to come on here and try to deny this as I see she does with all negative reviews. I have receipts and written documentation as well. So please try to deny. Edit : Unless they have a female pretending to be Dr Abdullah Akkad then she is for sure a female who wrote this for me and evaluated me and told me this is her name. This is so crazy. Why you have other dentist doing work and giving out a card with this name and not their name is gross. I can identify the dentist who did my work. I will not be emailing your company as you're unprofessional and apparently scamming people. You guys are seriously messed up. After looking more into the referral I see it says referring Dr. (Duparlo/ Duparvo, from what I see in photo) never once did the dentist refer to herself with that name and when I had conversations after even asking the receptionist the dentist who did my work because Dr. Binon asked for it they told me Abdullah Akkas. This company is telling every negative review they were not there and trying to gaslight them.. Well here is my proof and I have more including voicemails so nice try Also the reviews are not going to be the reason people don't come to your establishment it's going to be your replies that solidify your behavior.I Another edit to another response from the company again bad on your part for not telling your clients who they are being treated by from other reviews this is NOT the first time. Based on some of the reviews I'm sure he does half a decent job sometimes. However, I had a very different experience. I came here for a filling on the side of my tooth. Dr. Akkas reshaped the entire side of the tooth to an inauthentic tooth shape and caused there to be a gap between the teeth. I immediately noticed it and mentioned it to him. He convinced me to "give it a few days" (obviously I'm still going to be unhappy because he did an extremely poor job, not to mention failed to even polish the tooth). Well by "give it a few days" I assumed he would fix it if I was still unhappy, but that is my fault for assuming he'd do the right thing. I call back two days later and the clerk relays a message from him stating he did the best job he possibly could and if I want a second opinion I can refer to a different dentist. I also asked for a polish of the tooth, it was very rigid and not shiny when I left and the clerk said he completed the job in its entirety the best he could so they cannot accept a follow up appointment for that specific tooth ‍ I'm not sure why my experience was this poor. I have nothing negative to say about the staff, they were nice and welcoming, but unfortunately that doesn't give me what I came in for. I now have food particles constantly getting lodged in that gap he made when he claims the gap is smaller than it was before. I didn't have a gap at all before just boggles my mind that he made this claim. If anyone providing a service tells me one thing to get me out the door, but has no intention of correcting the issue...in my opinion does not deserve my business or anyone else's. read more

With my half a century experience with countless dentists, Dr. Akkas is the best.  The procedures he performs is almost totally painless.  Recently, my lower tooth with crown (done more than forty years ago, due to a serious motorcycle accidence) broke off, but the root was intact.  The tooth next to it, from same accidence, was half-chipped off at the top.  One friend, a retired dentist, visiting from Seattle told me I would need implant, or denture, or bridge.  So, I expected a long process to recovery.  Both teeth were fixed in about one hour.  I showed the before and after pictures to my dentist friend.  He was amazed. read more

The receptionist has been insensitive at times. Many scheduling conflicts. Notified by voicemail that they were running late, but I didn't check my voicemail before my appointment and nothing was said when I arrived. I sat for 45-50 minutes before I went to go say something. Complete waste of my time. Yesterday was my last appointment there. I had an appointment scheduled for 4 and they changed my appointment time to 3:30 and tried to say that I confirmed the new appointment. The blame was put on me when they are the ones that changed the appointment. Save yourself the headache and find a different dentist. read more

Terrible clinic!!! Rudeness and lies is how you can briefly describe the service of this company. I lost a filling in my tooth. I made an appointment at the Rocklin Plaza Dental clinic on 10/05/2023. They imposed several services that I did not need. These services were allegedly needed to start treatment. I said that I only need to put a filling, but they did not do this, but only made a new appointment for 05.31.2023. The wait was too long, but I agreed anyway. On the same day, a few hours later, they called from the clinic and said that they could not give a guarantee for the seal, which I allegedly asked for. It wasn't true! I didn't ask for any guarantee. I reported that I do not need a guarantee. Then they said that the doctor would be leaving California forever. read more

I've been going to this dental office for a couple of years now and the services they provide are amazing! When my insurance no longer covered me for this particular dentist, they gave me a cleaning free of charge. My teeth look 1,000% better after a cleaning appointment. They go above and beyond to get rid of plaque buildup. I'm paying out of pocket to see them now for a cleaning 2 or 3 times a year because it's so worth it! read more

I came in for an appointment about a week ago and before I was seated, I overheard Dr. Victoria speaking with another lady making fun of a patient and that left me feeling very uncomfortable so I won't be returning back to this office. I went in with a tooth ache with no appointment and they took X-rays right away. I was prescribed antibiotics for the infection and an appointment was made to remove the tooth. I have a lot of anxiety about the dentist in regards to pain and the bill!! They made sure to check my insurance and told me exactly what the cost would be out of pocket; there were no surprises. When it came to the day of my appointment the Doctor and his staff were very thorough and let me know exactly what they were doing every step of the way. I was still fearful of the pain but was pleasantly surprised at how little pain there was and how well the staff kept me at ease. I would highly recommend this office for the the nervous Nelly's like myself. I also recommend them for their honest approach to dentistry. As I stated earlier, there were no games and no suprises. We are now making a plan to have other teeth worked on and they took my budget into consideration to make a plan that works. If I could give them 10 stars I would. read more

I went yesterday to the address that's listed, 2160 Sunset Blvd. It's the wrong address so after driving around in circles and asking around I still don't see the dental office. I currently don't have a phone so I went to a gas station to call the dentist and ask where the correct address is and the lady who answered cute me off mid sentence and told me "it's not my problem you have the wrong address!" So I asked her if I could get the correct address and RUDELY she snaps "Once again, you're late and this is not my problem! We refuse to see you today!!" and she HUNG UP in my face!!! My regular dentist retired and I'm looking for a new one. Paid $110 to LivingSocial to have exam, x-rays and cleaning to give these folks a try. They said they were no longer doing that promotion and wouldn't honor the voucher. Basically told me to pound sand and that I would have to try to get my money back from LivingSocial.
