My dentist was above average (personable, knowledgeable and interested), but the rest of the experience was terrible. The appointment itself was running a bit late but not bad. Was scheduled for a follow up four days later and received 3/4 follow up texts or emails informing me of the appointment, but with no action required. Missed a phone call at 8:30 and they left a voicemail informing me that my appointment was cancelled due to lack of confirmation. Helpful tip, maybe ask for confirmation in the text messages you're sending, or call more than once? Won't ever be back. read more

I didn't have the highest hopes since this is a state funded facility, but I at least thought that they would give enough care to their patients. Their dental hygienist on staff was cleaning my teeth and then proceeded to stop in the middle of the service while I had blood and saliva dripping down my face to answer a personal phone call for herself. She then proceeded to stab me two times underneath the tongue and then tell me that it was my fault for having a tongue tie? I've never been told that in my life and I previously was going to an exceptional dentist, but had to switch to Medi-Cal since I am no longer eligible to be at my parents plan because of age. I'm very confused and honestly really disappointed. I will be filing a complaint. This was the location off of Sunset Boulevard in Rocklin. I understand like most, that if you are in a financial hardship situation, this is your only choice, like myself. I'm just really upset that they treat their patients like this. read more

Smile Time Dental is not to be trusted! I need extensive dental work for multiple teeth. I went to the Folsom location where they took a full mouth of x-rays, did an exam and promised they'd do everything they could to help me, get back to me by Friday and over a year later and they refused communication. No matter how many calls or emails I sent the dentist never contacted me back. It used up all my insurance for that year. Flash forward to having no options and being sent to Smile Time in Rocklin. I contacted them about an urgent issue and they said I would have to wait longer for an oral surgeon as there is only one who accepts my insurance. While I waited my tooth broke and the decay got worse so a month later when I finally got in they said they only had time to x-ray ONE TOOTH! A woman who was in the waiting room had just cancelled her appointment and walked out because she couldn't wait so clearly they had time for more than one tooth! They had an entire appointment slot! I've later realized that was by design. They said they could save that tooth but I had to go to an oral surgeon!!! So all that additional time I waited was for nothing! They sent me elsewhere! In the meantime, I told them I was not going to return to them as I was going to file a complaint. Since then I have received four notices of dental actions from my insurance. Apparently, Smile Time Dental/ S Jang DDS has been continuously submitting for extensive work to be done on my entire mouth! They took ONE x-ray! The only way they would have full mouth x-rays is if they were using ones from 3 yrs ago or if this other place released my x-rays to them without my permission which I plan to find out about later today. In them submitting this work it has made Medi-Cal dental deny other dental submissions as they've already submitted and you can't double up on them. So any work going forward can be a big issue which is how I ended up waiting so long that the decay is now in my jawbones! This is not just unethical it's unlawful. They are being reported for insurance fraud and legal actions are a high consideration. Avoid this dental group at all costs! They are nice in person but awful scammers! read more

Let's see....waited 2.5 months for dental appointment. Cancelled that same day because dentist was sick. Saw dentist two weeks later. Set appointment for oral surgeon for dental surgery. Asked for antibiotic since back molar had infection. I was told that I needed to go home and see if it still hurt and antibiotic would be prescribed if I call back. I was in pain the next day. I did call in. Matter of fact, I called all day. I was told to take a picture of the tooth and send it over -- not weird at all. I was FINALLY able to get the antibiotic with an entire day on the phone or waiting for a call back. Went to appointment for oral surgeon. Only one doctor on site. Waiting room had about ten people waiting. I could hear the surgeon going from person to person. He finally got to me. Did not introduce himself. Went over the procedure very quickly and then left. I was trying to use an insurance that expires at the end of April, so while I was not impressed at all, I thought it was my only option. Arrived at 8am for my oral surgery today. Arrived ten minutes early. Was asked for a $2,400.00 co-pay, which I was told would not exist due to declining dental grafts. That took ten minutes to get right. Taken to room. Given noxious oxide because of anxiety. That was turned on and then off and then on and then off. At 8:45 am, I asked when was the procedure going to start since I had been there for an hour. I was told they would check. At 9:00 am, someone came in and told me that the maintenance person did not turn on the generator for the compression instruments to work so they could not do my surgery after all and it was a good idea if I left. I was stunned. I had paid a $250.00 deposit when I would have a co-pay. I was told that I would receive a phone call for a refund. I did not. Avoid this place. You are not treated as patient but as a throw away number. read more

This was one of the best Experiences I have had when coming to the Dentist! From the front end staff TO Alina who did my cleaning this was Totally the place to come to. Instead of recommending an expensive procedure, she prescribed a simple toothpaste to mend the issue I was having and I appreciated that. After waiting months to get in, they refused to see me without xrays that they could have requested from my former dentist. It turns out that they don't even offer this professional courtesy so I should have been told to do this myself before coming. This entire chain is a scam. They kept giving me sealants even though I was above the recommend age. Then I kept getting cavities...I had five cavities at one point. Switching to other dentistries opened my eyes, and I wished I had done more research and pushed back. My new dentists all told me that I had unnecessary work done, and a decade later I still have no cavities. Please don't let them ruin your teeth. This specific location told me and all my siblings we had to do some additional sealants that insurance didn't cover, and when we asked to see where the problem was that needed to be protected, their camera was "conveniently" broken. read more

I had the worst experience. first let me say the Dentist was very nice and made me feel comfortable. This review is about there billing department. I was told I had to pay for certain services out of pocket before I can be scheduled. I paid. Then my appointments kept being reschedule. In 4 months I had one partial cleaning yet medical was billed for several procedures that never happened. The very nice receptionist suggested a different dental office. EUREKA Dental!! They were amazing and i had all my dental work done in 1 month including 4 root canal's. I canceled my appointments at Smile time yet I have not received my refund. The billing department lies lies lies. Told me several time " the check is in the mail" The biling manager is the WORST!!!! She refuses to return calls!!! she puts the poor people who answer the phones in a terrible position they have to cover for her!! MALPRACTICE AND NOW GHOSTED BY THE OFFICE My mom came here to get a bridge. Next day after putting her bridge, she started experiencing pain. The dentist told her to wait a week, then put her on strong pain medication. Pain remained. After being seen, she was told she needed a root canal underneath the bridge. This went on for 3 months before they made this determination. This was very upsetting as the dentist should have made that call prior to putting on the bridge. After multiple calls back and forth between offices, I was assigned a supervisor named Inna Priymak. She referred my mom over to RC DENTAL for a root canal. The specialist at the new place did not ask many questions and was quick to perform the root canal. There was no cold test done prior to performing this surgery. After the root canal the pain remained. We called the specialist back and he put my mom on more medication saying it may be swelling after root canal causing this pain. After a month of struggling with pain, doctor offered to see her. He told her that he had thought that the pain may be on another tooth but went by the referral. It was very upsetting to learn that he had performed a root canal on the wrong tooth. I called Inna Priymak back and told her the situation. I had mentioned to her that the referral was not for the tooth in pain. She was very empathetic and said "they should have inspected the area prior to root canal. This shouldn't have happened. You now what, if there it's any payment for the 2nd root canal, we will reimburse you" From that day, Inna completely ghosted us, stopped answering any of our calls. Someone named Kayla called from the rockin office. She was clueless as to what has happened up to this time. She started saying things like "Inna would not have said that" I requested that she go back and listen to their call recordings . She said she will call will call me back same day. It has been 7 days and I have heard nothing from the office My mom now has a bridge with holes in the from the root canal and a tooth still in pain. Was my first visit today and Dr Monica was so nice and made me feel very comfortable. All the staff was very nice. Didn't have to wait too long to be seen and was in and out within a hour. BUT, they are charging a $12 PPE for each treatment which my insurance company per their contract can't charge and they charge a $50 up front appointment fee per appointment even if you have more than one appt the same day they still charge each. They aren't able to help me with taking care of my partials and none of their offices offer this service. So, since I have called them out on the fees I received a letter in the mail today and they are asking me not to come back. This is terrible service. If you go to this office check with your insurance and make sure what they are charging you is correct. They were going to charge me 7 $12 fees. Beware!! read more

I really liked the office and dr. Jack until he didn't do good job on my teeth. The filling time took like 5 min. I was surprised!! 2 teeth needed a fill but it's as if theres no filling at all. Still have sensitivity and filling is not smooth with the rest of the tooth. Its has little notches. He might work quick but dental work requires quality which he didn't provide. I was dry anxious about a DentiCal provided option but we have never been treated any different. All of the hygienists are friendly, knowledgeable and patient. AMAZING! I chipped 1 of my lumineers last year and couldn't do anything about it at the time. I scheduled an appointment to go over cleanings because my gums are receding badly. Not only did they do a full exam, they set me up for my cleanings and they fixed my lumineer! I did not expect to walk out with my normal smile back. Im so grateful! Ive been hiding behind masks but thats no more! After my deep cleanings and my gums have healed, im scheduling to replace my lumineers. These guys are WAY more affordable! The staff is AMAZING! The best part about my visit was speaking with the receptionist that sat on the left and the dentist MonIca. I spent almost 45 min. having X-rays done with a young lady that appeared to be an intern. It took up most of the appt. Then, after the appt I was told that panoramic X-rays will be taken during the next visit. Why??SMH. I believe the male hygienist, which seems to be the only hygienist in this office, has the capability to single-handedly push ALL new clients away with his arrogance. Not personable at all and SUPREMELY lacked customer service skills. They tried to charge me $35 for oral cancer screening before the appointment! Then after the X-rays test my blood pressure?? WTF ?? I opted out of both. I scheduled an appointment for deep cleaning. After about an hour of BS, I was told that they could not do the deep cleaning. I needed to make a separate appt And that they are only allowed to proceed with the dentist recommendations not what you specifically ask to be done (their treatment plan!!!) I pay for insurance!! I know what's covered. I could tell that the only truly experienced dentist there was Monica who noticed that I had zero cavities or any major issues. Thank goodness. Scammers. Six months later I am still trying to get a response from their billing department, and can't get through. 18 emails, voice mails, certified letters later, I still haven't received any accounting of these funds, or reimbursement. The team was amazing! I was a little nervous with it being a new dental office for me and all, however, that was easily changed once the team began interacting with me. Dr. Monica Marquez made me feel special and she was so sweet. I appreciated everything she had to say and she even made it a fun visit with just her conversation. I have been bringing my children to Smile Time Dental in Rocklin for a few years now. The dentist and his dental assistants are so gentle and caring. The atmosphere in the office is a big deal also. Very clean, professional and up to date. The respect and quality of care my children experienced here, went above all other offices we have been to in the past. The way the doctor & his assistants handled any dental work on the kids was amazing. My son, after an extraction got up out of the chair, looked at me with a straight face and asked, " mom, when do i get the shot?" LOL !
