First time visiting this area and figured I would give a local business a chance. Service wasn't good. Ladies seemed annoyed because it was our first time and they were more concerned with getting the line down (which consisted of 2 individuals behind me). Then, they were out of stock of cheese for the kolaches. Then, they were out of stock for breakfast tacos. Horrible service! We arrived only to find out tacos were made several hours prior & sitting in a heated buffet warmer. Then they were out of carne guisada tacos, potato egg & cheese tacos, and bean & cheese tacos. The manager said they wouldn't make fresh ones to accommodate my family, because they were done making them for the day. Gross. Literally hours old and wrapped in wax paper. We left without eating. Facility did not appear clean either. Rockport bakery needs to get the customer service thing together. They presented with the attitude "what you see is what you get" as opposed to accommodating the customer. I guess the most bothersome part to me was, we drove a long way from Holiday Beach and planned the breakfast tacos the night before. They have a very large advertisement on the side of the building that advertises breakfast tacos, so we were under the impression that they did a good job at it! MAJOR FAIL. read more

Nothing tops a small town bakery specializing in that old school homemade taste. Rockport Bakery serves up homemade cakes, cookies, pastries, and oversized old fashioned cinnamon rolls. They also do breakfast tacos and pigs in blankets. It was a tough choice looking at the bakery case full of delicious goods. The old fashioned cinnamon rolls looked amazing but I didn't have room for one. I had a cream cheese danish shaped like a turnover and lightly glazed for another layer of flavor. The small town Americana bakery is becoming a lost art, but it is alive and doing well here at the Rockport Bakery. 5 stars on the bakery scale. read more

Amazing breakfast pastries! We will definitely be going back for a breakfast treat! I read quite a few reviews that talked about horrible service. The lady serving us didn't start out super friendly, but as we visited with her she warmed up and was very nice. In all honesty, service, in general, in Rockport doesn't knock your socks off. We are here quite a bit in the summer and there are few places that have great service. The service at the bakery is no different. The nicer you are to them, the nicer they are to you. They have rude tourists all the time and are expecting you to be rude, when you aren't, you get a much better response. read more

The last time I visited the Rockport Bakery the staff was rude and the food wasn't good so I didn't go back for a couple of years, I went back there today and picked up some donuts, a Long John and a cinnamon roll. My GF wanted the cinnamon roll, she commented that it tasted old, or perhaps it was the oil they used or whatever-not sure, but not tasty. I had a chocolate covered Long John with Bavarian Cream filling- yuck, again I'm not sure if the filling was old or just cheap ingredients, but I didn't eat the rest. The glazed donuts, were not fresh and again just not right. I won't be back until the management or ownership changes. The one star is for the lady at the window, she was friendly. read more

Have been coming here for years. Best apple fritter anywhere until this trip. Really disappointed. Must have a new baker. Middle of fritter doughy and uncooked. No apple inside. And worst of all, no outside crunch. Hope this was a one time thing. read more

Wow what find on our recent road trip. We wanted to bring some sweets to a dear friend and were passing through Rockport. Well let me tell you, I can't wait to find myself back down there so I can drop in this place. It's located in the back of a small strip center, you walk in the door and the smell of freshly baked goods hits you...you know you're in your happy place! Everything is nicely displayed and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We decided on one of everything lol so we could try it all. From cupcakes (so unique) to bars, cookies and even cake in a cup, it was all delicious and sweet. My wife, my boys and myself were visiting Rockport for our 3rd time, driving in from Houston. We've always passed by the bakery and we finally decided to check it out. I pulled into the drive-thru area and my wife and my oldest son got out to run inside and see what they had. I was checking my mirror to ensure that if another car came, I would move out of the way. Well, apparently a lady in the bakery, behind the counter, without even greeting my wife/son, just starts telling her that I need to move my car, etc... My wife never got a chance to even check out the goodies, because the woman insisted that I move my car. I wasn't there even a minute. She told me wife, in a rude way "I've been pointing at him to move his car!". I wasn't looking into the bakery. I didn't notice her. I was looking for traffic light/traffic, and a good time to pull out, so I could part in the correct place. Out came my wife and son. She was like "We're not eating here. Let's go!". Sad, but true... Two things I learned in Texas... Kripy Kream doesn't stand a chance and real kolaches come with jalepeno and cheese.. With that being said I stumbled into Rockport backery in search of Texas tradition. The donuts were fresh and moist and the kolaches had a nice spicy kick wrapped in sweet dough. It was nothing short of delicious. They don't offer a large selection, so if your looking for 50 flavors of donuts your in the wrong place. I wanted to order the giagantic apple fritter but I didn't think I would come out victorious. It was too big and the sugar would have killed me... Since I don't have the will power to stop midway. This no frills bakery is a must stop for my next trip to rockport. read more

We rented a house on Key Allegro for Thanksgiving week and had all the family from Corpus, Houston and Dallas down for the big Thanksgiving dinner. Baking in an unfamiliar kitchen really wasn't an option, and Rockport Bakery really came through. We ordered 3 dozen Parker House rolls on Monday and were able to pick them up late Wednesday afternoon. They were perfect for the occasion and absolutely delicious. Sooooo much better than anything available in the local grocery stores and certainly better than anything we could have made on the run. The staff is VERY friendly and very helpful. It's not fancy, but they have a very broad selection of pastries, cakes, pies and cookies. read more

Used to be very good, friendly people. WE have lived for here for years and used to look forward to going there on Sundays. For the last two years the quality and service have fallen WAY off. Baked goods that taste a day or so old, dry. Customer service that could stand some intense training with major attitude checks. If you want something fresh, get there at opening. We were in town for the day at the beach and decided to stop by to get a sweet treat before heading back. Service was very friendly. There were 6 of us and the restaurant was empty. They had already sold out of many items but it was mid afternoon so that was to be expected. To be honest - treats were mediocre. We had the apple cinnamon scone. Cherry turnover. Cream cheese Danish. Fried cinnamon roll - 2 M&M cookies and the double chocolate cookie. read more

The Rockport Bakery did our wedding cake in September 2012 and it was AMAZING. Lucas delivered on everything I asked for - the cake was gorgeous and super delicious. And I love that he didn't try to get me to eat fondant - probably because his buttercream is heavenly :) read more

I don't live in Rockport but my elderly folks do,.... I was in for a visit and was treated to a birthday cake from Rockport Bakery; what looked like an ordinary two layer cake turned out to be one of the best cakes I have EVER had. It was a cherry (with real cherries inside) covered by a super sweet cream cheese frosting. WOW is all I can say, it was very very rich. This was not one of those feather light cakes. After eating a piece, it didn't leave you asking "what did I just eat?" This cake was extremely satisfying.... almost put me in a diabetic coma. Today's experience with RPB was not a disappointment either.... I needed to get my folks a few pies for Christmas. The young lady on the other end of the phone was extremely considerate and when I asked about delivery, she didn't bat an eye or hesitate one bit. I bought 4 pies and I'm quite sure my folks will love them as much as I enjoyed my birthday cake. I highly recommend this bakery to anyone!! read more

When my wife drags me down to her hometown of Rockport, there are two things I look forward to, leaving Rockport, (ok, I exaggerate a little) and stopping by the Rockport bakery at two times, because any more and I'm in trouble. This place has the best warm cinnamon rolls, but what's better than the cinnamon rolls is the giant chocolate cream filled long john, they might have something better, but I stick with what I like. If my wife goes down there to see family without me, she always brings me back the same thing, the bakery itself is almost worth the 9 hour drive. But I CANNOT tell you how disappointed I was when we were leaving Rockport just this last Monday and we pulled into the parking lot of the bakery only to find that they are closed on Monday. I know they need a day off, but why??? read more

We heard Rockport Bakery was good so we ordered two pies for Christmas this year. One chocolate meringue and one coconut meringue. Worst pies I have ever spent $14.95 a piece for! Pies were only filled half way with the filling and it was very runny. Flavor was terrible. Meringue was not cooked enough. No one finished their pies at our potluck. Frozen pies from Walmart would have been better. Will never buy from them again. read more
