I was walking in Phipps Plaza my go to Mall in Buckhead and I saw this small newish eatery up stairs. Had to stop. Frozen custard and antibiotic-free chix got my attention. I thought the prices were high but being in a prime shopping mall I wasn't surprised. They serve up various sizes of wings 5-20 at a cost of between $7.19 (5) and $23.39 (20) Their tenders are prices similarly. They have 7 different styles of salads and 8 different styles of sandwiches ranging from$7.79 - $10.79. Their sides include fries, carrot sticks, celery sticks, slaw, 3 bean salad and a few more. It is clear that they are looking for a more health conscious shopper rather than just kids. Kids sides run about $2.39 each with fries being slightly higher. Bottled soda pop as they call it, is $4.19 and all other drinks a little less. So if you just have to have something fast and are in Phipps Plaza you could spend a pretty penny between a sandwich, a side or some Pellegrino. The food was however tasty.

This was the best chicken tenders and sandwich I have ever had! Please come to Utah! Thank you for the great service and the best meal!

Rocks does not miss. I don't live close but I find myself ratting there about once a month. It's that good!

Tenders breading was falling off and fries were some how soggy yet burnt

Service was minimal at best , I understand this is in a mall but I mean still greet a customer acknowledge them something to kind of tell me you are at least ok with my business and I'm not an inconvenience. Highlights are sauce is good both honey mustard and medium buffalo was very good . However sadly this is a chicken restaurant not a sauce place. Fries were both somehow looked burnt but soggy and oil soaked , I've eaten a lot of fries in my life and these were not them. The chicken was also soggy and coating was falling off which tells me fried at wrong temp or sat for a long time. Either way not a whole of options and we only come here once a year for Santa and they were better last year .

I grew up in the midwest and am an absolute frozen custard snob. After making the drive to Culver's a few times, I wanted to see if there was something closer, and luckily I found Rock's. While I went there for the custard, I started with a chicken sandwich; after all, the food looked and smelled incredible! I ordered the Yuma and some fries with cheese. The food came out within 10 minutes. The fries were super cheesy, they put some cheddar over it and melt it on. The fries were good on their own (russet fries), but I also appreciated that they have tons of different sauces on tap for you to try. The chicken sandwich was very, very good, served with a fat piece of chicken (you have the option of fried or grilled) and all the toppings. The custard hit the spot, it was rich and creamy like what I would expect back home. Service was friendly, and prices were a bit higher than what I would want to pay, I think for the sandwich, fries, drink, and custard it was a bit over $20. However, I'd happily pay it again :)

    Chicken sandwich with fries!

Man listen. This place is a pure gem instead of Phipps Plaza. Quick cheap eats, with good quality fries and tenders. As you know, it's hard not to spend a arm & a leg instead of Phipps ... so to see a food spot that's quick and great quality fast food is refreshing ... Their fries ... OMG! are so fresh, and some of the best fries I've had in my life with no exaggeration ... they are similar and remind me of Five guys fries ... you see the potato skin on the fries and know they are fresh! Can't lose going to Rocks in Phipps for a quick meal! Instagram: robleh.eats

I actually came to Phipps Plaza specifically for Rock's Chicken & Fries. I was about a mile away in a parking lot looking for lunch and rocks had great reviews! So what'd I think of this place? Here's what I ordered: Bacon Cheddar fried chicken sandwich ($9.59) Single scoop of chocolate frozen custard (Free with yelp check in!) Starting with the sandwich, The chicken sandwich is a soft chicken piece, breaded and fried and ridiculously juicy! On the sandwich comes lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, buttermilk ranch dressing, and of course, BACON! This sandwich was GOOD. Everything blended together with each bite, and even if you don't think the sandwich is perfect, there's an entire bar of sauces that taste as good as they look that you can add to your sandwich! With all their sandwiches comes a side of hand cut fries on the house. You can add toppings to your fries like cheese, bacon etc for a cost, but I added neither. Sadly, the fries themselves, plain, were the weakest part of my experience. They were pretty crunchy, almost too crunchy (overcooked) and completely unsalted. Using the sauces as dip helped, but if you want just good fries on their own, you may have to reach for a salt shaker. The scoop of chocolate frozen custard costs $2.99 but if you check in (as of January, 2020) you'll get a free scoop. Man this scoop was so rich with chocolate flavor and had a very creamy, satisfying taste! I tore into this first actually, and had no problem finishing it. Check in or not, but try a scoop! The interior of rock's is small, only having a few tables, but you can take your food and sit at tables in the food court area of the mall. Customer service was great, friendly and helpful. Service was also pretty fast, as my meal hit the table within 10 minutes! I walked away completely satisfied with Rock's Chicken & Fries. Admittedly the fries were a bit overcooked, but otherwise I was happy with every other thing! Definitely worth checking out and I hope you do if you're in the area!

WAS THIS A HIT OR MISS ???…read more It was a HIT I have been dying to try this place out for years and I figured I planned a lunch with a friend so we could spend the afternoon chitchatting and this was the perfect spot. So we were warmly greeted and then taken to a quiet table in the corner that had the whitest tablecloths. It looked rather chic Then we had the best server. She checked on us numerous times, didn't rush us and offered suggestions. She kept our table clear of mayhem from empty plates and glasses. Now the food was delicious. It was so good. The chicken was moist and the outside was crispy. The mashed potatoes melted in my mouth. Plus, we had a slice of 7up cake for dessert. I high recommend this place. They have valet parking that is only $2. Great place to visit. Until next time.

Location Carries, Great for Clients, Not for Value…read more Location, location, location. That's the story here. This spot earns its 4 stars largely because of the setting and service. Right in the heart of Buckhead with a beautiful view great energy, well-dressed crowd, and a strong place for a work lunch or client meeting. Service was solid, no complaints there. I'll keep it simple the food was good, don't get me wrong. But for the price, it just didn't match up. This is one of those places that works if you're trying to impress clients or enjoy the atmosphere. Strip away the location, and the food-to-price ratio probably lands much lower. Just my take. Overall: 4/5 great setting, just comes at a premium.

Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Reviews I'd seen online mentioned parking is a bit limited and that the restaurant is frequently busy. However we got very lucky with parking and happened to come in right as someone was leaving. I was sure we would have a wait for a table, which of course would have been fine, but actually we were seated immediately! Which was super nice and unexpected. The atmosphere is bustling but not in a bad way. The restaurant itself is adorable and has a lot of character. It feels like you're having breakfast at an old friend's house. The service was great and our food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. I ordered a specialty coffee, I believe it was the almond joy cold brew, and it was delicious. Strong, which is how I like it and not overly sweet. I ordered the chicken biscuit on the waiter's recommendation and it was absolutely the best fried chicken I've ever had. Juicy and crispy. My husband ordered the pimento cheese omelette and was very happy with it, the bacon was thick cut and smoky and flavorful. The pimento cheese grits that came on the side for me were also a stand out, such great flavor. The biscuits are fantastic and the blueberry basil jam that came with my husband's meal was such a nice touch. We will absolutely make a point to come back to Buttermilk Kitchen next time we visit the Atlanta area.

TL;DR: Super cute spot with decent breakfast offerings and great staff. Don't go out of your way to…read morecome, but worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood. First things first: the Chicken Biscuit. Buttermilk Kitchen's biscuit is on the crunchy, honey-flavored side. I personally prefer fluffier, more buttery biscuits, so this one wasn't my favorite. That aside, the chicken was crispy and well-seasoned and paired well with the cheese grits. If you ever wanted a dry, crunchy version of Homegrown's Comfy Chicken Biscuit, come give this a shot. I also tried the Hash Bowl, which was a bit underwhelming. It was a *lot* of potatoes compared to the eggs and bacon bits, and there wasn't a lot of seasoning other than the bacon. Would rather recommend one of the other options if you end up visiting. The drinks are good as well, would recommend the matcha latte (not too sweet!) and the French Press coffee.

They are still trying to hire enough staff to handle the crowds. Have patience. I sat at the bar both visits and had a good time. Plenty of TVs and I had a good time. Second visit they were doing Trivia night (Tuesday). I tried the $3 draft beer which was not a light beer. It was an IPA that was full of flavor and quite refreshing. The beer was only $3 because it was not selling and they wanted to get it out. Friday and Saturdays are $1 wings (minimum 8). I got the buffalo lemon pepper wings. You cannot see the lemon pepper seasoning but the wings taste extremely good and are the right level of crispy. I got the ribeye covered in blue cheese butter with fries and brussel sprouts. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and is a good steak. The fries are decent. The brussel sprouts are good. I got the Black and Blue burger. They forgot the bacon but brought it out to me quickly. The sweet potato waffle fries are some the best I have ever had. They sprinkle some type of powdered sugar on them. I will come back for the fries alone.
