Yellow's superb customer service was a ray of sunshine in this newest JR Cricket's location discovery. My friend spotted it and suggested we eat there after grocery shopping in vicinity. It's located in a plaza next to Tapers Barbershop, a laundry mat and another restaurant. Parking lot was nearly at capacity when we exited in the evening; more spaces were available upon arrival. Placed order with Yellow which consisted of wings with fester sauce, as we knew the combination of lemon pepper and medium sauce (can opt for mild or hot) with French fries and ranch dressing (blue cheese also available if your preference...no judgement :-). Later added beer as selection from a fairly full bar. The flavors the Chef evoked were reminiscent of why I first fell in love with the fester blend. Sadly, that has not always been the case at other locations. The seasoning mix was perfect and the fries were equally delicious. Food coupled with great service and nice decor made this visit an unexpected treat. There was an issue with the air conditioner that led to the 4 star rating. The ambiance including televisions throughout allowed for viewing of game 1 of the NBA finals. Tonight's final brought this moment full circle and look forward to visiting this JR Cricket location again. read more

Wings are always a great idea! And when they're from JR Crickets, you know that you're in for a treat. I was craving wings later in the evening and so many other places were closing but this location was still open so I decided to go for it. When I first moved to ATL and had JR Crickets for the first time, I totally saw what the hype was all about. (And it was not all hype) I usually go for lemon pepper wet but this time I decided to switch it up. I don't love when restaurants (usually wing spots) have wing flavors that aren't explained on the menu, because I don't want to guess when it comes to my food, lol. Thank the heavens for Yelp! I narrowed down the breakdown of some flavors after some Yelp reviews and decided to go with the 'dirty bird' which was lemon pepper, hot and bbq mixed together. Let me say, this flavor is IT!! It was sooo delicious, absolutely a new favorite. I appreciated that my meal came in a cute little donutish box along with my okra, a first for my ordering experience with them. Definitely stood out. My only complaint? The wing size! I don't know if I've ever had wings from them that were of ample size. I won't lie, if the wing sauces weren't so delicious, it'd probably bother me more. They've always got a customer in me but I just hope my next order will have some more plump birds in the mix! read more

TLDR: My wife wanted some JR Crickets, and we usually ONLY order from the Midtown location. We decided to roll the dice and visit a recently opened location near our home. And I'll be honest: this location did not miss whatsoever!!! They have great food and service (what the midtown location lacks)! I'd highly recommend checking them out. I was en route to North Avenue when Google Maps told me there was a JR Crickets in Marietta. I decided to give them a chance and check them out. The restaurant is inside a small shopping center with a barbershop, convenience store, and laundry mat. When I walked inside the restaurant, I was greeted by the cashier. The place was clean, and there were some TVs for people to watch the game. They also have a full bar and were running drinks and happy hour specials. I would typically call to order, but since I was in the area, I decided to go inside the establishment and place an order. The cashier was super kind and helpful. I ordered a 10 pc Hot Teriyaki wings with shrimp, and my wife ordered a 10 pc lemon pepper hot. The wings were crispy and sauced just the way we liked them. These are the exact wings I almost drove thirty minutes into the city to purchase. The location checked all boxes: decent size (regular sized wings and not oversized chicken), great flavor, crispiness, and juiciness. This location also makes the renowned JR Cricket's homemade ranch and blue dressing!!! The shrimp were ok. They were the frozen butterfly-type shrimp. I'm not a huge fan of those. I assumed I was ordering regular fried shrimp. They also forgot to place my cocktail sauce in the bag. I'd give this location a 4.5/5. The wings checked all of the boxes, but the fries were overcooked. I will ask that they do not overcook them next time I visit. As a wing connoisseur and a frequent JR Cricket wing eater, I promise you won't regret visiting this location. Those from the ATL area know that all JR Crickets aren't created equally. The young lady that took my order was really nice and helped with my order. And there were several tv's that gave me options of what to watch. Came in to pick up my order and this place was in shambles. Messing up other peoples order and very disorganized. The girl with the bbl at the front desk was trying her best but she was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. Lastly I asked the cashier with the BBL to pls ask the cook to put plenty of dry ranch powder on my wings, instead I received my order and the wings looked like someone was being stingy with the ranch powered like it was barely on there. We came to town for the peach bowl and my son wanted wings. Haven't had J.R's in forever. This was our first time at this location. We stopped by and they did NOT disappoint. The dirty bird wings were awesome. Shout out to the lady at the counter. I did not catch her name. But those drink cups they have are not reliable with that lid. I spilt the drink all over the counter and she was so nice about it. Most people would have gotten an attitude and probably rolled a few eyes but she was real nice. I was embarrassed of course. I would have cursed me out in my head if I was her. But she smiled and was very nice. So again thank you and I do apologize a million times over. The place was real clean. Food cooked fresh but service is very slow. They were very short staffed so the cashier is the cook also. Definitely don't taste like downtown JR Crickets or the one that use to be across from Varsity. Wings not fried hard if you ask for it, this is more a American Deli feel then Jr Cricket. There was a man that waited over an hour for his food and was ready to go. We waited over 30 minutes for our order and it was not fired 3x hard like we requested. It was clean and fresh smelling in there, it didn't have the smell the fried chicken. So that mean they use fresh oil, not old oil. But service is very slow due to been very short staffed I love the owners or manager knowing service still have to run a business with or without staff. read more
