Visited SCK today for brunch and it was an interesting experience. The food was amazing, as always, but the waiter not so much. We repeatedly had to ask for straws and warm bread. He just wasn't very attentive or intentional. Also we enjoyed a pitcher of Bellini. Overall decent experience!

This place had the best food I had while visiting Buckhead. I had deviled eggs, skirt steak with eggs, chimichurri, and fried green tomatoes. Everything was heavenly. I wish I could go back! The food was truly addictive. Also the service was on point. They were so accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. Super personable wait staff. Lastly, I am a sucker for nice ambiance and the inside felt very nice. Had a lot of greenery inside. Felt exotic. All in all I give this place a perfect score. If I am ever back in Buckhead, this is my first pit stop!

I've been coming to this SCK location for years and we love it! To start parking is in a parking garage and it is about nine dollars per hour. The restaurant does not validate. If it's a holiday, I would definitely recommend making a reservation but on a weekday I usually just walk in and I'm seated almost immediately. I love the menu selections at this location from bunch to dinner. They have great options for the whole family. This is one of the few Atlanta restaurants that has a great vibe and isn't too loud or unwelcoming for those with children. My top five things on the menu are the brunch fried Gouda bites, the Nashville, hot chicken whether you get the appetizer or the sandwich, their chicken and waffle is pretty good, I love their mashed potatoes and collard greens. Anything on the brunch menu is a definite hit.

Went in for the classic Southern comfort food trio: fried chicken, collards, mashed potatoes and honestly the food delivered. This is Southern cooking dressed up a notch, upscale spot with the vibe to match. Food was the star, service was just okay, nothing that added or took away from the meal. One thing worth knowing before you go: make a reservation. We didn't and ended up at the bar. Also heads up, parking is a nearby garage and you'll pay for it, no free lot.

South City Kitchen delivered. The deviled eggs were a standout to start. Savory with just the right touch of sweetness from the jam. Perfect balance. I ordered the Southern fried chicken and it did not disappoint. Seasoned to perfection with an extra crispy crust. The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy, and the collard greens had a subtle sweetness that I absolutely loved. Everything on the plate was done right. Drinks were strong but still well balanced, which is always appreciated. Service was amazing and everything flowed smoothly. The restaurant is warm and moody, perfect for a date night.

DELICIOUS food. Love all the southern comfort classics, even down to the complimentary biscuit/cornbread basket and salted butter. My favorites were the southern dip trio, Nashville chicken bites, and the shrimp & grits. An amazing, semi-upscale place to take visitors of the South. Attentive service too. Nearby valet is $2.

Recently stopped in with coworkers for brunch and was not disappointed. We all got something different so there were many things to taste. While here I noshed on: She crab soup- creamy and decadent. Very good and savory Chicken livers- pan fried with a sort of creamed corn. Nicely prepared. The corn gave it a creamy taste that paired well with the livers. Fried green tomatoes- crispy and fresh. This was prepared with goat cheese. It gave it a nice zing! Steak and eggs- Topped with chimicurri, this was a nice take on a brunch standard. Steak was cooked to perfection. Deviled eggs- rich and creamy. The crispy shallots was the perfect topper to break up the creaminess. Fried chicken w/ greens and mashed potatoes- crisp and juicy! This plate can be shared by 2. The greens and mashed potatoes were the perfect compliment. Lastly, the meal came with Biscuits & corn muffins w/ apple butter jam. Hmmmm. Hot and fresh. Both were moist and fluffy. And that apple butter jam! Slammin. I asked for an order of each to go! Phew! Can you tell we are were stuffed? Everything was sufficiently priced for the serving portion. Our server was on point! Will visit again!

Came by on a Sunday morning for brunch and were able to get a reservation for 11:45am for a party of 7. Unfortunately the table they gave us was not in the shade and it got really hot sitting in the sun. Said they couldn't put the shades down. We ended up doing take out instead and they said it would take 20-30 minutes. We ordered a kids meal and the person who took our order was going to charge for the ice cream it came with - we had to show her on the menu that it said it was part of the meal...she said she had no idea in her 2 years of working here, so I wonder how many other parents got overcharged for their kids meals or just didn't get the whole meal that was advertised. Ended up taking an hour and by then there were plenty of open tables in the shade which was disappointing. We ate outside nearby and the food was alright, not bad but not worth $26 for the portion of chicken and waffles that were given. I was also told I would get a side salad with my benedict but they forgot it. Thought about going back after eating to ask for it but my family were planning to go to the ATL history center nearby and I was pretty full - if we picked up the salad it would probably spoil in the car since it was a warm day. Wouldn't recommend unless it is not busy or you're willing to wait and pay for smaller portions. There is great affordable valet parking though for $2 which we appreciated.

With a flagship location that opened in 1993 on Crescent Street in midtown, South City Kitchen has expanded over the decades and has become a much beloved Atlanta institution. Classics like fried green tomatoes, fried chicken and the burger are undoubtedly hard to beat. The location in Buckhead opened in 2016. The space at the Buckhead location is not terribly exciting and not particularly distinguishable. The patio is near a busy road and really, isn't much of a patio. Thus, ambiance wise, South City is not a place that deserves any accolades. This is especially unfortunate given that South City is a fine dining establishment and while standards for higher end southern cooking were likely lower in the 90s, these days expectations are a bit different. Yet, the food delivers. The staff are always very professional and attentive. Dishes are classic in every way and truly excellent.

A fine place to dine solo at the bar. We don't have restaurants like this in my town so it's a treat to for me to visit. The kitchen was a flurry, the music tamed it a bit as did the low lighting. They have NA cocktail options that looked interesting but it wasn't what I was looking for tonight. Deviled eggs with crispy shallots and a jam that added depth to eggs. The coconut red rice with mushrooms was creamy, with a nice balance of sweet and heat.

This is a great place to casually dine, date, or have a celebratory dinner/lunch/brunch. The menu changes seasonally, but the food is extremely good with a unique twist on some of the items. Service is great and if you're celebrating something, please let them know as they will do small gestures that are thoughtful and appreciated. I will be returning very soon.

A nice little spot. Valet parking is the best option, it's $2 oppose to paying $16+ in the parking deck. Beautiful ambiance. I sat near a fireplace and watched life happen on Peachtree Road as I ate. The food was good but I was underwhelmed. It was good, not really amazing. The fried tomatoes were bland. The chicken sandwich was tasty but it came with potato chips. The highlight for me was the biscuits and cornbread! Biscuits that melt in your mouth, with or without butter! My server, Riley, was a 10/10. She knew the menu, gave great suggestions and didn't miss a beat making sure we had everything we needed.

Is this a good place for someone that uses a walker?

I think that this restaurant would be ok for a walker because its a pretty good size.

    Any vegan entrees available?

You can check the menu online, but this place seemed pretty meat-heavy. I recall fried green tomatoes, but I don't recall too many vegan options.

What is the parking like? How much for valet or garage? Thanks in advance!

Valet is the best option here, as it is only $2. There are a number of garages around that charge $8-$10 for the time it would take to dine here.

    Do they offer bottomless mimosas?

Mimosas are available by the carafe, but bottomless mimosas are not available.

Do they offer food to go?

Yes! They are currently offering food to go!

I noticed it says not good for kids. Does that mean they don't offer a kids menu?

There actually is a kids menu, and contrary to the other answers, crayons, booster seats, and high chairs are all available.

Do they have bottomless mimosas during Sunday brunch?

    Not sure

    Is parking avavilable?

Yes! Valet is couple of dollars

Good for solo diners, perhaps at the bar?

Absolutely. Great bar and bartenders. Friendly and inviting for a solo dinner.

Do you think they will be able to accommodate for a large party of 12-17? Im planning a 21st birthday dinner.

We are having a party for 26 people. You will need to speak with their catering department. They are great to work with.

Is there bottomless mimosas on weekends for brunch?

No, they prefer that you wear pants.

Is the shrimp and grits still on the menu? I used to go to this restaurant many years ago and this was my favorite dish?

    Yep! Had it tonight. Delicious!!

    Is the patio dog friendly?

    No, thanks for asking!

During lunch time for two is it necessary to get a reservation for the patio? Is the patio covered?

Yes the patio is covered and cozy!! Enjoy!

Is this restaurant ideal for accompanying a large group of 6+?

Yes! They have a large upstairs, down stairs and patio

I decided to have a tapas-style dinner with food from The Works and just had to grab some chicken from Delilah's. The menu is plentiful without being overwhelming, except when it comes to picking a favorite between the flavorful options. I knew that I didn't want or need a full meal and opted for their 3 whole wing option that came paired with cornbread. The young man who took my order was so polite and patient, as there were a few folks in line and waiting for previously placed orders. He let me know that my order would be ready in about 15 minutes so I took the time to continue my food-finding journey around the market. When I returned later, I had lost track of time and figured I'd just poke my head around their stall to see if my chicken was ready. It wasn't at that moment but I took some time to observe the process. There was only one guy in the open kitchen and prep area creating all of the meals and he was on the move. If I could add smells to my review, this one would smell like fried chicken and cornbread. It was all so fresh! When my order was ready, I only made one other stop before heading to my car to go home to my family... but not before I tested those whole wings from Delilah's. When I say that they were fresh out of the grease? Babehhh. It's like he just threw them right into the basket only seconds before. It was sooo crunchy, so juicy, just a fantastic wing. The hot sauce was a nice pairing but some spice in the breading/meat would have taken it over the top but this chicken was delicious. No notes.

Very eggy texture and not much cheese taste. Everything else was nothing to write home about. The fried chicken was good but only like a step above Safeway's fried chicken. The flavor, once rich and decadent, has also diminished, making me question if it's still worth the trip. That said, I've heard the rest of the food is still solid, so if you're craving Southern comfort food, it may still be worth checking out. Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q…read more Fox Bros. has that hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint feel, but with plenty of space to hang out. There's a bar along with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the overall atmosphere is casual and laid-back. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and gave us some great recommendations, which definitely added to the experience. We went with the three-meat sampler and chose the brisket, ribs, and jalapeño cheddar sausage, with tots and the Fox-a-Roni for our sides. The Fox-a-Roni--a combination of their Brunswick stew and mac & cheese--was absolutely delicious and easily one of the most memorable sides I've had at a BBQ restaurant. The brisket was honestly some of the best brisket I've ever had. It was tender, flavorful, and easily my favorite of the three meats. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was also really good, and while the ribs tasted great, ours were pretty small and didn't have a ton of meat on them. My only real complaint was the portioning of the sampler. We were told that as you choose a larger variety of meats, you essentially receive smaller portions of each. I understand the idea of a sampler, but we literally received one slice of brisket and two-three fairly small ribs, so the portion-to-variety concept didn't make a ton of sense to me. I would've preferred slightly more substantial portions, especially considering how good the brisket was! I also ordered a cocktail, but unfortunately it wasn't really for me. It came across very sweet and mostly juice, although I think that may have been more about the particular drink I chose than the bar itself. Overall, the food absolutely delivered. Between the incredible brisket, Fox-a-Roni, friendly service, and laid-back BBQ atmosphere, Fox Bros. was definitely worth the stop. I'd happily come back--I'd just skip the 3 meat sampler next time and order more of that brisket!

Our experience at Virgil's Gullah Kitchen was completely unacceptable from beginning to end. Our waiter disappeared for over 15 minutes after taking our credit card to the register. When he finally returned, he claimed that he had somehow lost our credit card between our table and the register. Let that sink in -- our credit card was in the restaurant's possession, and somehow it disappeared while being handled by our server. To make matters even worse, our check was incorrect, adding another layer of frustration to an already completely unacceptable situation. And then, instead of taking responsibility and resolving the situation appropriately, the waiter had the audacity to give us his personal phone number and tell us to call him to see if he found our credit card. Absolutely not. That is not an appropriate way to handle a customer's financial information or a potentially lost credit card. At that point, the issue was no longer simply poor service, it became a matter of trust, accountability, and basic professionalism. I expect a restaurant to provide good food and service, but above all, I expect my personal property and financial information to be handled responsibly. This experience left me extremely uncomfortable and disappointed. Virgil's Gullah Kitchen needs to seriously address how situations like this are handled and, more importantly, how customer credit cards are being handled by staff! One star is honestly generous. I would not recommend this establishment based on this experience.

What made this situation even worse was the way the manager handled it. Instead of showing concern, taking responsibility, or making a genuine effort to help resolve the issue, he was dismissive, spoke to me in an unprofessional manner in front of other customers, and ultimately walked away while I was still trying to discuss what had happened. I understand that mistakes can happen, but losing an item that had already been found and acknowledged by staff is a serious issue. More importantly, the lack of accountability, empathy, and professionalism shown by management was unacceptable. No customer should be treated with disrespect, especially when trying to recover a valuable personal item. And house specials, is friendly and engaging. He makes the rounds and talks to the customers, makes them feel like home. All the staff seem to work together well and a very jovial. I sat at the counter cuz I was flying solo and had nice conversations with those next to me. The way the entire building is decorated is completely eye candy and as satisfying as the food. If you like crazy loopy, different kind of stuff. There's a specific coffee shop and small gift shop in the back with social & environmental conscious products. Even have a film development drop off that I guess locals take advantage of cuz where do you go for that anymore other than some kind of chain pharmacy?. I took pictures for my posting but also for myself to consider coming back and shopping another time. Several of the magnets and signs I would love to own. The food is plentiful and flavorful. I had the daily special of Georgia fresh shrimp sauteed on top of homemade sourdough that had a little bit of a French toast crispy to it, topped with roasted tomatoes and spinach and thin crispy onions that were well seasoned. Most the time for lunch you just hope for something that taste good and this was beyond my wildest dreams of what I was going to eat for lunch today. And it was only $10. The burgers, the fried chicken, the fried shrimp, everything was looking so yummy. I totally have to come back. Service was slow, almost an hour to get our food and we came on a weekday morning (can't even imagine the weekend rush!). The biscuits are DELICIOUS especially with the apple butter they have on the table, but I would skip the cornbread. Super super dry and grainy. Also the fried okra was tough to get through because of the size. I do wish they maybe had some fresh juice options available in addition to all of the coffees and teas, but it was fine overall and I wouldn't mind going again.
