Shortly after we arrived, a woman we believe may be the owner's wife sat across from us at the bar and began loudly discussing operational issues, vendors, staff, issues with the karaoke host, and even the city of Chamblee. It felt less like a customer experience and more like we were sitting in the middle of an internal staff meeting. We tried to tune it out, but given our proximity, that was difficult. The situation became particularly uncomfortable while we were eating. She began telling a story involving roaches and repeatedly referenced them several times. Hearing an extended discussion about roaches while eating was enough to ruin our appetites, and we ended up pushing our food aside. We mentioned our concern to our server, but we did not expect her to address the issue herself since the concern was with the owner. Customers come to relax, enjoy a meal, and watch a game, not hear restaurant business issues or discussions about pests while dining. We have enjoyed this establishment in the past, but this experience left us questioning whether we'll return.

The good parts didn't outweigh the not-so-good for me. 1. Located on the 9th floor of The Westin, BUT, parking is mad affordable, which is a big relief as usually hotel rooftops have a static valet parking fee for $25 or more. There is a garage right in front of the entrance and its 5 bucks for up to 4 hours. 2. Views - decent enough for the 9th floor, but mostly overlooks trees and some highways. There isn't much to actually look at as far as a skyline. I was here in the daytime though, maybe at night with whatever city lights coming in, it may be a lil more charming. 3. Ambience - the inside was really nice, the tables were big and seating was comfy, a combo of cushioned chairs and velvety booths or couches. nice decor, and the outside portion of the rooftop also seemed very spacious, with a big main area as well as seating & a few more tables down the side of the building. I went during the yacht rock brunch period, so there was a live DJ spinning old hits from the 70s/80s. the music was at a cool volume, not so loud that you can't hear anyone speak, but not too low like background music - loud enough that you feel like its okay to vibe out. 4. Food & Service - this is where it fell apart for me. when i was seated, it took about 15-20 minutes for my waitress to come and ask me what i wanted to drink. when she finally did, i realized this same woman had walked past me several times before, on the way to do nothing in particular. she didn't introduce herself but was polite. she brought out my coffee and took my order, it took an hour for my food to come out. and the place wasn't crowded. only 2 couples sitting outside and about 40% capacity ithe indoor section where I was. and the food was subpar. it all came out hot, BUT. chicken sausage was hard to bite because casing was burnt and tough. eggs were cooked with so much butter it just tasted like i was eating fluffy butter. biscuit was dry and couldn't possibly be homemade. 'parmesan potatoes' had a few sad dried dots of cheese and parsley but no seasoning whatsoever. i forced myself to eat about half. I live far from Duluth, so really no reason to come back. Maybe a nighttime hang with drinks only, on the outdoor terrace would be a slightly better experience. But I don't have to find out.

The steaks and seafood were great, and the owners father (Luis), gave my son and I a history lesson of the origin of the restaurant (former Norfolk Southern depot) and a guided tour of the hidden porches that you can watch passing trains up close. What a great ambassador to the restaurant! While we were eating there, we experienced 1 southbound and 1 northbound train, my son was able get great videos of both train. Overall great experience and can't recommend it highly enough.

Dingy carpet, the interior seats roughly 40-50 people with the patio that seats another 20-30, dim lighting, and dated decor even for a dive bar style joint. The service. Basic. Fast, efficient, professional, as any food service should display with their staff. The food. It's bar food. Burgers, a little Mediterranean mix, and basic salad with some apps that are complete southern comfort foods like fried pickles and hush puppies. I decided with the fish n chips because 2 sides instead of one for an entree. When the food came, the fried cod pieces were... pleasantly small. I got 4 bits out of each one and between the crinkle cut fries and the glop of basic mayo based coleslaw, the meal was basic. Not bad but not thrilling either. All in all, it's a basic dive bar joint that's a bit expensive for what you get. 2 4"x4" square pieces of cod fish, a handful of fries and roughly an ice cream scoop worth of coleslaw for $16 plus tax and tip isn't all that great considering the quality of food and the digs. It's in the airport so that's cool that you can watch the plans take off but more or less, it's a dive bar.
