This is what REAL homemade desserts look like.

Sweet Potatoes is NOT AUTHENTIC nor homemade as reflected on website. Rather, it is store bought, dough was undercook and not done on bottom. To be original NC Soul Food Recipe, the Goolah Geechie ancestors would be horrified! Very disgusting and disappointing. First time, One Time Customer, MOVING ON!

There was only one person manning the grills and the cash registered which resulted in a longer than typical wait of about 20 minutes soon after they opened. Perhaps they were not expecting it to be as busy on a Saturday morning. I was able to try a bit of their brisket combination plate that included their candied yams and macaroni cheese. Because of being understaffed, I imagine the quality was not as representative of how they would have been otherwise. In terms of flavors, I found the yams to be in plenty of brown sugar and the macaroni to have a distinct flavor unlike any I've had before. However, the brisket was left to be a bit dry and barely reheated. Similarly, both the sides could have benefited from being more fresh. Otherwise, I think this could have been really good! It is an intimate little kiosk run by a local family. I would like to come and try more in the future.

doug is so friendly and helpful! but what keeps me coming back is this mac and cheese. i grew up in mississippi and this simple side has been a favorite since i was a kid. so trust me when i say this: this is the best mac and cheese i've ever had! incredibly seasoned, as is everything from this place. the options at the food hall is perfect for a workday lunch or group outing. we always love sitting on the patio!

When I tell you, I didn't know about North Carolina BBQ until I found out about this place!! They have amazing food and great customer service. AND they focus on Turkey instead of pork which is amazing since I and so many other people I know don't eat pork. I love their location at the beautiful and bustling Chattahoochee Food Works, but you also have to check out the food truck whenever you're in the city. I was headed into work and literally did a U turn and walked across the street when I saw them today! Great place and Doug is always so nice.

I walked around for 20 minutes and decided to try this place because the guy there took the time to speak to me. I never understood Carolina bbq until today. I just thought it was the way my grandma cooked her food. I didn't realize other people could make food like this. One word: authentic.

Very yummy turkey bbq and fish. The baked beans were some of the best I've ever had and the kale slaw was good as well. You can tell that they really take their food seriously. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Definitely one of my favorite spots at Chattahoochee Food works and the staff was very friendly. Plenty of seating available as well and not too crowded.

I was looking for food on a Thursday night and settled on The Works food hall because it never disappoints. Because it was almost 9pm, many of the stalls were closing or had already closed, but one of the stalls I immediately came across when entering was Doug's. Given that I frequent The Works often, I knew this spot was fairly new. I walked around and some of my go-tos were closed, so I decided to give Doug's a try. When I walked up, I was immediately greeted. I didn't get the guy's name, but I think his picture is on the sign, so obviously, he's one of the owners lol. He was really cool though! I asked how long they'd been open and he said only a few weeks. He mentioned up front that they were out of baked beans and cole slaw, and I made a comment that I don't like cole slaw anyway, so that was fine. He made a joke and said I wasn't gonna talk about his cole slaw because it was kale-based lol. So he went over to the container and scraped me out the last bit so I could taste it, and it was really good! I gave him his props and told him I'd try it next time. I wound up ordering The 919 Platter - fried whiting fish with two sides, and for my sides, I chose macaroni and cheese and hush puppies. I asked if they had any veggies, but he said the only veggie-adjacent side was the slaw, which they were out of. He told me give him about 10 minutes and my food would be ready. So I walked around again then came back and sat down at the counter. A few minutes later, my food was ready and it looked and smelled SOOOO good! When I got home, I was ready to dive into that plate lol. Y'all. The fish. THE FISH!! It was perfect. Seasoned so well, fried to perfection, perfect portion size, and white bread! Lol the country girl in me LOVES fried fish and this did not disappoint! The hush puppies were standard, solid hush puppies. The mac and cheese, despite being made earlier in the day I'm sure, was still really good - cheesy, seasoned, and all-around solid mac. I tore that food all the way UP, okay?! Lol I can't wait to go back to Doug's and try some of their other dishes. I love that they brand themselves as a healthier alternative to traditional pork-based BBQ, as they offer turkey instead. I hope they are very successful at The Works.

Doug was very accommodating in changing an order I had off Uber eats menu to accommodate my cravings of his smoked chicken wings. I also ordered the fries , Cole slaw and an additional entree of his signature bbq turkey , Mac and cheese and baked beans . Everything and I do mean everything was a home run ! The wings were seasoned to the bone , messy with the smothering of the sauce and just perfect despite not being crispy which is how I usually order my wings . The bbq turkey was some of the best I've had . Actually, I've never even had bbq turkey but this is how it should be cooked .You wouldn't even know it's turkey if you ate it blindly. It can easily pass for chicken with its moisture and texture. For those that aren't into turkey , try giving it a chance and see for yourself . Anyhow , to continue , the beans were the best I've ever had in a bbq restaurant and that was the same sentiment when I took a bite of the mac and cheese . It was as if someone's grandmama made it with the level of seasonings and love he put in it . The fries were crinkled cut and could have been from a bag but it still complimented the food really well . The slaw was not a typical slaw but more of a kale slaw instead of cabbage based . I could eat kale all day cooked like that and it's a testament to Doug's mastery of bbq. Doug's might be the best bbq I've had yet . I only wish there was an option for brisket as it's what I typically get for bbq but I'll vouch for the turkey and the chicken as being right up there with the best of them . Oh and no one is touching these sides !

Oh my gosh where do I start! How come people aren't talking about this spot? My boyfriend and I like to visit the Works, and I wanted to try something new. I was in the mood for Southern BBQ because I'm also visiting from California, and I crave Southern BBQ. I believe Doug himself was the one that worked the register, and cooked the delicious food for my boyfriend and I. Customer service was fantastic, the seating area was neat and clean, and the vibes were super chill. My boyfriend got the 910 Platter with Mac n Cheese and Hush Puppies on the side, and I got the Doug's Turkey Sandwich Combo. Both meals had Turkey that was cooked to perfection! I've never had anything like this. Usually when you hear Turkey you think it would be dry, but this was smoked in their special sauce. I've never had North Carolina BBQ, but we were told that it is usually very vinegary. But this vinegar taste isn't what you'd expect, and it pairs so nicely with the Turkey meat. My boyfriend best describes the sauce as a rich tang with spices that don't overwhelm. The Mac n Cheese was also delicious, and my boyfriend loved the Hush Puppies, saying it was perfectly crispy. Now, the best part of the meal was the sauces provided. There's a hot sauce, sticky sauce (essentially like a bbq sauce), and the Doug's sauce/special sauce. I love the sticky sauce and the Doug's sauce! I wish I could take a whole bottle back home to California. The sticky sauce is not your average sauce, and it's perfectly tangy and tasty, leaving you wanting more. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this spot at the Works. You can tell Doug is incredibly passionate about what he does, he was showing my boyfriend and I the smoker and the precise process of smoking the Turkey meat until it falls off the bone. He's a true chef, and deserves all the kudos in the world. I'll be dreaming of his food when I'm back home.

I have never had a BBQ Turkey sandwich that taste so good! And a healthy Kaleslaw on the side was the perfect match. The food is amazing!

This spot used to be called something else and from my understanding they merged together. I wasn't a fan of the previous bbq spot but this is ok. As a family, we had ribs, sausage, collards, Mac and cheese, and baked beans. The smoke ring on the ribs was nice; however, there wasn't a great bark on them. I didn't care for any of the bbq sauces. The sausage was ok, it had cheese inside of it. All of the sides were average to good. I like that the platter was served with onions, good pickles, and white bread. That part reminded me of bbq at home. It's pretty easy to order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. We went on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty. I'm guessing they have more lunchtime traffic. I do plan to come back a little earlier so that I can try their wings before they're sold out.
