Leaving Coachella Camp my buddy decides to take the scenic route home because LA traffic is such a drag and bore. Sometimes I feel as if we took a wrong turn but came out to be a right turn. This little diner in the middle of no mans land took us back into civilization surprisingly. It's such a cute diner filled with unique license plates and cool signs. It looks like it use to be a home so it gave a mom & pop type diner feel. I don't even bother looking at menus now because it's a bit overwhelming with all the choices they give people these days. So I just go by what's a favorite or popular of the people here? The lady said either the all meat breakfast burrito or the jalapeño avocado burger. It was early in the day still so I went with the breakfast burrito. It was so yummy packed with protein. I finished it while trying all the hot sauces that were on the shelf. I do recommend festival goers to stop by if you go home this route. The breakfast is on point!

This was one of the coolest places I've been to. The atmosphere was cool, the people were so kind and welcoming. Loved the way this place was decorated too! As for the food, it was delicious. We also got PB & banana shakes (you have to get one, it was the best shake I've ever had). Such a great place to stop for lunch, we'll definitely be back!

    Chopped scrambled eggs

Tried this restaurant on a whim as we were on our way home from Joshua Tree. Pretty much the only thing around. My partners veggie burger and fries were very good, but my scrambled eggs look like they had been put through the blender. Something about cooks in these FarOut places that they wanna stand around and chop the eggs like they've got nothing else to do while waiting for the deep fried hashbrowns to cook. Don't recommend this place.

Food is absolutely amazing down home flavor. Excellent variety and choice. Service is great. They usually go above and beyond for you ambience well, let's just say it's a unique kind of place.

    The cheeky entrance

Had a terrific lunch on the way to Palm Desert from Las Vegas. A really friendly and mellow place along a lesser traveled route (HWY 247 from Barstow). Great chat with Matthew, the owner, who made these non-locals feel right at home!

I don't usually expect much from eateries in small desert towns. But Cafe 247 loons that curve, offering among the best beef ribs I've ever had. A lot of places claim to have ribs that slide off the bone, but they're usually sloppy, greasy, and leave you walking in search of a bottle of TUMS. Not here! Slow cooked, delish, and simply superb, this is my go to rib place off the mountain. I had a portion of my friend's kielbasa, and while I'm not used to having it in bbq sauce (traditional Boston Polish delis serve them with mustard and sauerkraut), after a few bites, it grew on me.... quickly! Adding to the dining experience is a super unique ambiance that's a cross between a biker's club, an art junkyard, and Hollywood museum of memories. It's quite an eye-catching, entertaining place. Highly recommend!

Double Bacon Burger was absolutely amazing. Great seasoning and overall taste!

Very happy I stopped by here. Truly one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. Can't wait to come back and try the BBQ on the weekends. I was just passing by but now I'm officially a regular customer. Definitely recommend to try

My wife and I ordered two vanilla lattes, the chicken and waffles, and a sausage breakfast burrito. Everything was cooked perfectly and flavorful, absolutely zero notes. The coffee is fantastic, the breakfast was incredible, and the staff was friendly and efficient, keeping the service moving quickly even when they were busy. We ended up coming back the next two days as well. We loved it so much that we came back one evening to try their pizza, and it didn't disappoint either. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. Excellent food, great coffee, and wonderful service!

We bought 2 coffees (a 12 oz drip coffee with half and half and a 16 oz iced latte). We also got 2 bagel breakfast sandwiches. Our total was $39!!!!! Even my tiny drip coffee cost significantly more than a Starbucks equivalent! The Quality I truly hate to say it because I want local businesses to be successful, but everything was low quality. My drip coffee was lukewarm when I got it, my wife said she prefers iced coffee from del taco compared to the one she had here. But the really disappointing thing was the sandwiches. First, they came out heaped with lettuce (on a breakfast sandwich???) I've never seen that before, and we didn't ask for it. After we picked the lettuce off of the sandwiches they were very small (especially for the price!!) I managed to eat about 2 bites of mine before I couldn't stomach it anymore. It was just bad. The sausage patty tasted freezer burned and was extremely dry and the egg white was undercooked. I love an over easy egg, but this was not that. This egg was not cooked enough to be served. My wife made it about 1 bite further than I did, then she had to call it quits. All in all, we paid $40 to throw away our sandwiches and drink aggressively mediocre coffee. What really sucks is that I want to support local businesses! I would love to keep going to a small local shop. But when they rob us blind and serve food like that, I can't justify it.

However I ordered their back country burrito and it was average at best. Heavy on the egg and pico. There was hardly any bacon in it. And they didn't have hot sauce. You know how sometimes coffee shops advertise a drink that's supposed to taste like something but really just tastes like a regular latte? That's not the case here. Their flavored coffee actually tastes like what they say it will! There's plenty of seating both upstairs, downstairs, and outside, and the place had a fun rustic vibe to it.

I honestly don't think I've made a single desert trip without stopping in at least once. Part of it is the location. Pioneer Crossing Antiques is also nearby and was sadly closed this Wednesday, but I normally stop in whenever it's open. The proprietors are awesome and I always find something unique to take home. Food-wise, the lox bagel was a standout. Great ratio of cream cheese, capers, dill, thin-shaved red onion, plus a little side salad of arugula and radish that actually tasted fresh instead of feeling like decoration. The yogurt parfait was small but mighty, layered with berries and granola and substantial enough to feel like breakfast. Easy seating, dog friendly, and plenty of sandwiches and salads if you're not in a bagel mood.
