I had my first service (Pedicure & Manicure) from Ken today and I was very impressed. Great clean service at a reasonable price. If you appreciate someone taking appointments and spending their time with you and not squeezing you in between other clients, this place is for you. I can't tell you how many other nail salons I have been to here in Simi where they make you wait even if you have an appointment or they say they have time right now, just to make you wait. Ken is phenomenal!! He has 15+ years experience and it shows. Not only is he a great nail artist but he's personable. He likes to get to know his customers and he listens to what you have to say. I've always been the type to stay quiet and not voice my complaints. Well, with Ken I don't have complaints. He has done my nails for the past 2 years and I won't be going anywhere else. I have tried every single nail salon in Simi including the fancy one with booths rather than chairs and the one on the east end of Simi that is known for "trendy" nails. Neither of them have the quality nor the customer service that Rockstar Nails has. If you're looking for a place that does incredible work, great customer service and good vibes. Tina is so amazing ! My favorite nail set of all time. At first I was seated with this male tech and he was starting the procedure for my fill. I had one broken nail on m thumb and he wasn't even going to fix it!? I had to ask him "aren't you going to add a new tip?" And thankfully i did because that's when Tina took over ! We were able to schedule a last minute appointment same day. The parking lot can be very busy and full depending on time of day, making it a little bit of a walk to get there. However, we went in the evening, so there was plenty of parking right up front. The salon is simple and quaint, appeared clean and it didn't have as strong of an odor as many other nail salons tend to have which was an added bonus.There was a short wait upon arriving, which was totally fine. The gentleman that did my daughter's nails was professional, friendly and WOW was he fast!!! He did a great job AND made them exactly how she asked. That hasn't always happened elsewhere. First of all, I get back to back compliments from so many people about my nails nonstop! I'm constantly referring people to go check out this gem. Kelly did such a great job on my nails, I was so pleasantly surprised. I've gone to Olivia's for my acrylics but I think I just found my new favorite nail place. Kelly was able to get me in an hour within calling if she had any availability for the day. The shape, length, and even the thickness of the acrylics are all so beautifully done, I cannot stop staring at them! It's hard to find a good nail salon that checks that all off. I paid $45 for this set and it took almost an hour and 15 minutes. What's really interesting is that, every time I've gotten my acrylics done at Olivia's, my nails are so sore for the next few days... I haven't experienced any soreness with this place at all! I also didn't have to file my acrylics down to fix the shape to my own liking compared to when I got a set done at Olivia's. read more

I wasn't going to leave a review but after much thought and pain I decided I owe it to the community. I went to Rockstar while my car was in the shop. I walked from the shop and thought I'd save myself the additional 2 miles to my nail salon. So I stopped here, checked yelp, thought " ok it will do, it's just a mani and gel pedicure" omg I wish I had just walked the extra miles: 1. Was told my pedi would come with an extra massage. So needed it after my walk in 100 degree weather. 2. When it came time for callous remover, she used the "cheese grater" which I'm not fond of but again I figured " it's ok it's just the way they do it here" First off she kept using the cheese greater on the side of my foot! Hello I'm not educated in pedicures but I have no callous there! Ouch. I kept pulling away.... no response. Secondly after I started bleeding the other worker ( Kelly I think ) kept walking by staring at it but no mention. I finally quietly asked her for a bandaid as I am not one to cause a scene. Then no extra massage and the polishing is terrible! Lastly I tell the guy at the desk that I didn't get my extra massage he says " ok" and then I still charges the full price. I came here again for a fill-in and the lady was pretty rude and rushed. She did a half-assed job and asked her to fix it and she was acted very inconvenienced. I felt awkward sitting there while she aggressively buffed my nails. She left them WAY too long and they were fragile and broke easily. Will be finding another nail salon! read more

This place sucks so much. I went in for a gel manicure and all of my nails are at the point of f******ing breaking. As a matter of fact both of my thumbnails are broken and I went there less then a week ago. It took me months to grow out my nails for them to be healthy and this one place absolutely ruined my healthyhealthy good nails. and then they had the audacity to charge me $41 for a gel manicure when everywhere else it's $25. The only reason I went to this place was because I didn't have time to go to my regular salon and this was between classes and thanks to them my nails are absolutely ruined.
