I came in with a friend about a month ago. Last week, Wednesday August 24 my friend had to go to urgent care for an ingrown toenail. They had to cut half of her toenail off and found also found puss. Luckily, she is healing well. However, please be careful going here. It seems like they do not properly take care of things. Went in to Rockstar when my usual nail tech was unavailable. I am very particular about my nails. The shape, size, thickness (thin/narrow) are extremely important to me and that is why I have gone to one person for 8 yrs. I was reluctant to try somewhere else, but couldn't wait. I absolutely LOVE the job Tina did. I had seen the bows in another photo and asked her to replicate it after I had seen what a good job she did on the fill. She listened to everything I mentioned in the beginning about how I preferred my nails and she nailed it. I then decided to get the Deluxe Nu pedicure. It's was pricey at $40, but let me tell you, my feet have never been so soft this long after a pedi and all ingredients/products used were organic and guaranteed. I don't think I would be able to get another type of pedicure after getting this one. Several different steps and products including extra massage. Went in to see Troy for my outlandish bridal manicure and was not disappointed with the outcome. He did a beautiful job on achieving the look I wanted. I think pictures helped a lot. I did have to hunt for my own nail decals but because I did some extra leg work the results are fantastic. Communication was a little difficult at times. There are nicer nail salons with competitive prices out there but I needed to trust someone to do nail art not something regular. Yelp hasn't let me down yet! read more

I so badly wish I could give this nail salon a higher rating. I entered the nail salon wanting to relax after a long day and escape the sweltering heat of the summer, only to find that the salon was hotter inside than it was outside. They decided that it was not necessary to have the air conditioning turned on, and had only two fans going for the whole salon. I became so overheated that the only other customer kept turning around in her chair to look at me, saying I looked so flushed she thought I would pass out. She was a regular at the salon and convinced the guy doing her nails to try to get the air to work. After about 40 minutes, the room lowered maybe a couple degrees. I spent about an hour and a half in there (probably the longest a salon has ever taken to give a simple pedicure), and yet they took maybe a total of two minutes at the very end to slather on a quick layer of nail polish. Once I got home, I ended up painting over them because of how bad it looked. I don't think I will be returning. read more

I went here while waiting for my car to get serviced across the street. There was no wait, they got me in rigth away but I instantly had that "sinking feeling" when I arrived. My gut was telling me to turn around and go back to the dealership and just sit and wait..... So the lady who ended up helping was the woman who was literally slumped over in the front of the entrance. I thought she was just a woman sleeping on the sidewalk, but low and behold she was one of the employees!?!?! She proceed to give me a pedicure which took FOREVER... a basic pedicure and my car was finished being serviced before she finished. (I think it was about and hour and 50 minutes... no exaggeration...) The reason for the one star though.... She clipped my third toe. And she just kept working like nothing had happened!!!! No apologies, no... nothing. Nothing. No acknowledgement that anything just happened. She just kept working on my toes while I bled on her. UGH! She did finally put some blue liquid on it (I'm hoping that was antiseptic) and a little cotton ball but by the time she did that it had finally stopped bleeding... The whole time all I could think about was the horrible staff infection I was probably going to get. Luckily I think I am past the point of that occuring, but it hurt for days after and I will not be going back ever. read more

Kelly shaped my natural nails very nice and did an acrylic overlay. i love how they turned out , i will say though, the edges are a bit bumpy due to the layering of the white nail polish. The only reason I am giving this place a single star is because I cannot give zero stars. I took my mom out as a present, a woman did my manicure and a man did her pedicure. The place was clean and the woman who did my nails did a great job - she even tried three different colors on my nail until I found the one I wanted! Sadly my mother's experience was much different. The man who did her pedicure rushed, did ONE coat of polish, sloppily put tissue between her toes that messed up her pedicure, was rude to her when I mentioned it had been ruined (on a single toe, by the way), and couldn't have gotten her out of her chair fast enough. Really? I paid for a SPA PEDICURE to have her relax and enjoy her time! Not be disrespected! Sadly, the woman did a fabulous job on my nails - but do not disrespect my mother. This was my third time at "rockstar" it's very close to my job . I was once again disappointed with them. The lady doing my pedicure clipped away at my toe cuticle till it bled & the girl who worked on my nails yanked off my old acrylic nails like I had no nerve endings. I was in pain the whole time . I also had sat up my seat to sit straight up & the woman that was doing my toes grabbed the remote & reclined the seat back & said this is much better for you ? Really!? I know what i like & I would like to sit straight up, thank you very much!! She was about to charge me close to $100 for a standard pedicure & a new full set, I questioned the dollar amount & she said , well you picked out glow in the dark polish? Ok well point out your "regular" polish?!. Ugh!!! The place was below my standards of what a $100 pedicure & nail polish salon should look like. One star is me being very nice. I had never been there & my younger sister & I decided to try it. BIGGEST MISTAKE! I had been wanting to get acrylics so I went in & apparently asking for pink & white acrylics was not clear because I was asked 5 times what I wanted done by 2 people. The women who placed my tips did them so poorly that they peeled right off as I waiting for 10 mins while she attended someone else, where I was then sent to a male who started on my nails who was very rough, rude, & care less about my needs. & got annoyed as I told him that the tips that were previously placed by the women were coming off & needed to be fixed. Was NOT impressed when I came here. The first time I came here for gel manicure, nothing too hard, they way overcharge for all of the little things. My second time there I wanted a plain manicure, no gel. They wanted to charge me like 5 bucks or something like that just to remove my old gel. I'm sorry, but I shouldn't have to pay extra for the person to put acetone soaked cotton balls on my nails for a few minutes when I'm already going to be buying a manicure (plus my friends who was with me) The lady who did my nails kept texting on her cell and eventually took a phone call and walked away from me, mid manicure. Please save your money & your time. Do not come to this nail salon. Giving them 1 star is being very generous.. I came today to get a full set done & I was told it would be $27. I wait about 15 minutes till it's my turn, that's not the problem. (The youngest lady did my nails.) She begins by removing my gel polish with cuticle nippers. The process was very painful. My nails started to rip in the corners and break off. She went to do my right hand so I kindly asked if she would would the drill instead. She respond that it would take too long. I simply said that the other way was painful and uncomfortable. She started to use the drill with a very rude attitude. The process didn't even take 2 minutes. I asked if I could have my nails coffin shape. She informed me that it would be $3 more & my total would be $35? So apparently they charge $3 per hand and $2 for no reason at all. As she clips my nails she ask how long I would like them because the longer they are the more it will cost. I have never hear of such a thing. She also says it with a very rude snotty attitude. Throughout the whole process she uses old, dirty, and used tools on me. (Buffers, nail file, clippers, etc.) That doesn't even follow health code.... All of their nail powder aren't in there actual containers even. The funny thing is they have signs that say "a place for you to feel pampered." I didn't even feel pampered for 1 second. Long story short please do not go to this place. Not only is it a rip off, they are extremely rude, and unsanitary. read more

What a horrendous experience. I will never return. I came in on Labor Day - before the rush came. Asked for a gel manicure and a pedicure. I don't remember the person's name who did my nails, but she is the sole reason why I'll never return there. I told her she was hurting me, as she roughly rammed by my cuticles - but yet she continued to be rough both with the ramming of the cuticles, the cutting, all the way to FILING my gel nail polish off (as opposed to the higher end way of using foil and solution). She rushed through my appointment, trying to make room for the rush that arrived while I was there. I actually had to call attention to the fact that she hadn't thoroughly removed all of the gel from my previous nail job. Can ANYBODY recommend a nail salon in Simi that gives A REAL ROCKSTAR of a job???? read more
