Came to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for some desserts. We had the Dubai bar and some chocolate cookies. They were pretty good. Yes, a bit on the pricey side, but they were pretty good so I didn't mind. Besides, it's not every day we get some treats from this place. The ambiance was mellow. On this particular visit, which seems to be the norm, it wasn't very busy. We were the only ones there so we got to take our time and browse before making our selection. The service was what you would expect. The basic greeting and helpful service. Good enough for me so no complaints here. Okay... Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory has seriously been around forever. I swear I went to one when I was a kid- total childhood throwback! I honestly never pop into these anymore, but their caramel apple display completely hooked me. I have never seen that many caramel apples in one place (wait until I post the video!). They have every sweet treat imaginable, fudge, chocolates, truffles, dipped everything, but those apples were the star. We tried the Butterfinger and the Heath caramel apples and both were SO good. Crunchy, sweet, messy in the best way possible. They even cut them for you which is a HUGE help! And listen... holiday calories don't count, right?? Try at least 2 or 3 of them! I love candy apples. They are the reason I frequent Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Ever judge a candy apple by its cover, well I do after my experience at this location. All the candied apples look AMAZING from the outside, i ordered my usual - the tsunami, which comes with is drizzled with milk chocolate while sprinkled with all kinds of nuts all over. After taking my first bite, it was brown on the inside. It ain't the chocolate I was talking about, it was the browning because the apple was old. I thought it was only mine that turned out like that but no... Cassie F. also got a peanut and milk chocolate apple and it was the same browning of the apple which is not fresh. We lost my appetites and threw it away. However, it's a pro that they sell dog treats but a con they don't serve ice cream at this location. The ambiance of this location is nice, very warm and friendly staff. I really want to like this location. Got a peanut caramel apple today. I asked for it to be cut. Paid and tipped. Got home and not only was it cut like a 5 year old did cut it, but there was mold on the apple. This isn't the first time either! I called the store attempted to speak to a manager, but of course there wasn't one available. Got a Peanut Caramel Apple today. I asked for it to be cut, unfortunately when i got home as i was eating it i found mold on it. It tasted sour at first, I let it slide thinking it was the apple. It wasn't.. There was mold in the bottom of my apple. They tried to cover it up with the caramel and peanuts. This is so unprofessional. An inspector needs to go get that checked out. read more

Try adding flavor to your menu. I enjoy me a good caramel apple and have my entire life. I know a good caramel apple when I meet one. I've never walked away from a caramel apple. I couldn't even swallow the first bite of this one. Where to start? #1. In a caramel apple, the first ingredient should be caramel. This seemed like an afterthought. Then the taste... because of the wafer thin layer of caramel, which seemed more like an accident--as if the apple accidentally brushed against a caramel, was nonexistent as far as my tastebuds were concerned. Plenty of almonds though.... But who wants a mouthful of almonds when the apple itself tastes like air? So you've got an Apple that tastes like air that had an accidental brush against a paper thin slice of caramel which was then covered from top to bottom with almonds. This was the most unenjoyable eating experience I've had in a very long time. $10 wasted. I would have had a more enjoyable time lighting the $10 bill on fire. At least I would have been entertained for a few seconds. I wish I could give this 1/100th of a star. read more

I was in the Brea Mall looking to buy a gift for a friend and no matter how many stores I went to it just wasn't the right gift. I was about to leave the mall when I saw Rocky Mountain Chocolate, I had never been in this store so why not go check it out. This store is not large but, it has a good selection of sweet confection to satisfy any sweet tooth. The milk chocolate covered macadamia nut clusters are a favorite of mine. I was going to a birthday party later and purchased two gift cards and twelve Carmel covered apples , three different styles , four each. It was nice that they had a box that would hold four apples at a time , it made it east and convenient to carry so many at a time. I did not buy any chocolate because it was so darn hot outside I thought they'd melt before I got to the party. When we got to the party everyone was happy that we brought Carmel apples , a few of the kids had never had one, it's nice to make someone smile. I have a sweet tooth and I was swept inside while my sister was getting her watch fixed nextdoor. One of the only things appropriate to order here are one of their many over priced candy apples. Have them cut it into slices and share some with your friend. The milk chocolate toffee heath bar apple was satisfying before our dinner. Sweet gooey caramel covered around a granny Smith apple, then dipped in milk chocolate then dragged thru sweet crunchy chopped up health bar pieces and drizzled in more chocolate. The chocolate covered gummy bears were also good but at $4 something for 1/4 pound is bit pricey for my sweet tooth. The big disappointment was my rice krispies bar. This location is hit or miss (over years). I've had a fly stuck to the bottom of my caramel apple, super super salted sea salt apple, mushy apples. The last time I went my sea salt dark chocolate caramel apple had the THINNEST layer of caramel and waaaay too much salt. I didn't know till I cut it up at home to eat. The staff said I could get a complimentary apple next time to make up for the sea salt one. I got a dark chocolate roasted almond apple and it's mushy. If you go here maybe ask for the apple slices & try a bite there. That way if it's overly salted, mushy or has a fly you can exchange it. read more

I tried their Dubai chocolate and out of all the other places I've tried, including laderach, I think the Dubai chocolate here overall is the best that I've ever had. The chocolate itself is probably not as good as laderach, but for me the filling makes it the best. They make it on site. And the filling is made by the boss of the store. read more

This is my dog Oliver's favorite store. They have dog treats that are coated with chocolate that dogs can eat. My dog absolutely loves them. The girls who work there are always so nice and go above and beyond. They all deserve raises. Their chocolate for humans is also great. I've never been inside this shop and I was given the red carpet. I saw a poster on the front window while I was craving a blended coffee drink. I stray away from Starbucks and most other similar businesses due to the quality of products. I glanced at all the display cases that contained many treats to kill that sweet tooth. ROCKY MOUNTAIN offers surprises from old tastes like chocolate covered hand dipped pretzels to candied apples dipped in chamoy. My order was a simple blended coffee, yet I wasn't sure which flavor to go with. After speaking with Alexis and Cielo, they made a few expert recommendations and I was sold! When it comes to these type of beverages, I prefer them to be more liquefied than smoothie textured, I asked if this could be accommodated and both girls happily & enthusiastically answered "yes, no problem at all!" As a business owner, the level of customer centricity/ attention I received from these two made me wish I possessed a brick & mortar location, I would be honored to have such engaged employees. Ok forget Cadbury eggs because I actually like that brand. Think store bought Lindt candies. Would you pay a high price for those? Probably not. That's what you're going to get at RMCF. Nearly seconds from losing our business, my mom and I walked around this small location, and only when we were about to exit the store was when the girl decided to come out and help. She jumped out just as we were leaving and asked if we were finding everything okay. My mom was elated at the fact they had a decent sugar free selection in a large case. Explaining how grateful she was and how she'd refer friends, the cashier acted extremely disinterested and looked down the whole time, no responses. Very cold and unfriendly. $11 for about 6 truffles. Go to See's, for $8.75 you get 1/2 pound box of better quality chocolates with 90% better customer service. 1 star for selection and another for there being candy apples that I may consider trying in the future. read more

I found a gem of a place to take my granddaughter when visiting the Brea Mall. There is a little kids area just outside Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. This is a great location. They have fresh samples of caramel apples and fudge that are delicious and we got a little treat for the granddaughter. The young ladies in Rocky Mountain are always very kind and were especially kind to my granddaughter when she came in to look at all of the different apples they have there.
