I'm going back and forth with the rating on this one. Hard to determine whether this place deserves 2 or 3 stars. We were staying at a nearby hotel and I was pleased to see a farm to table restaurant so close to us. I convinced the other members of my party (who are more of Applebee's people) to try Rocky River Tap and Table. However, after having had Rocky River Tap and Table, I'm not sure I'd choose it over Applebee's. And I'm a relatively-healthy-eating vegetarian. RRTAT is a large, open dining establishment. We were going to have to wait about 40 minutes, but a table near the door opened up, and, as we had been traveling, were pretty hungry, and didn't expect shorter waits anywhere except fast food, we all were fine with it. We were all but forgotten sitting where we were sitting. Our server perhaps was the worst I've had in years. She didn't check on us for 20 minutes after taking our water order. I saw her standing by and talking to someone near the kitchen, touching something absently. The straws, perhaps? And then, when she delivered the water, she thought we'd need more time to decide what to drink and started walking away. I called her back and said we were all ready to order. She had the bad habit of apologizing generally for being late without taking ownership and finding a way to make things right. She went on about personal issues (recent car accident, school) that were clearly weighing on her. And then, we waited over 40 minutes for food. I had a salad with, as I recall, peaches? It was pretty good. The spinach tasted farm to table. Others in the party had spare ribs (good), grilled cheese (too rich for the eater to go beyond the first half). The fries I tried were disappointing. One person ordered a cheeseburger plain -- no onions. It was delivered to him with onions by someone who wasn't our elusive server--someone who politely dropped the food off and darted. I went to the server, who was at another table, and she came over. She apologized that his burger was not as he ordered it, but she didn't offer to make it right by making another burger, bringing him something else, comping this dish he hadn't asked for, etc.) He didn't ask for a new burger, as he is diabetic and I think he might have been feeling sick had he had to wait another hour, and then, I'm not confident it would have been executed correctly. Onions literally aside, he said the burger was prepackaged and tasted like a Sam's Club Angus burger -- not farm to table at all. Two hours in this place is more than enough time and money spent for me. And I liked the food! Please consider hiring more staff and/or better training the staff so that tables are not ignored. You could redesign that spot where as a waiting area... just remove the table. read more

I went January 4. My wife's chicken pot pie was very good. I had the perch it was average. Nothing wrong with it but I have better!! Had excellent service it was pretty dead though on a Thursday night!! Came back for my moms birthday party was a large group of about 20. I will say the service was excellent didn't catch the lady's name but she did a great job. We had the bacon jam appetizer that was really very good. Went during lunch and not too busy. Our server was great, very pleasant and attentive. Food portions are large. Food came out pretty quick and was hot and fresh. Carolina pulled chicken and chicken club were both tasty. Sweet potato fries were slightly over seasoned but still good. My only complaint is I thought the coleslaw was not good. Updated 9/21/2018 from my previous review. Rocky River has come down in the world. Sadly, I've seen this happen to most Michiana restaurants: they arrive with bold flavors and ideas, and gradually adjust to the blandness of the locale in order to survive. Long story short, it's not bad, but it's not great. The menu has been reduced. The amazing olive/almond appetizer is gone, as is the honeycrisp salad. Yes, menus at a farm to table restaurant should rotate with the seasons, but there was little that was exceptionally seasonal at our last visit. Whitefish picatta was an interesting idea, executed well enough. But nothing memorable. Pot pie was a decent pot pie (with proper pie crust, not puff!) Wine and beer selection is still good. Service outstanding. But there's nothing to distinguish Rocky River anymore. And that's a loss for the Granger gustatory community. read more

With many restaurants to choose from in the Mishawaka area we are really glad we chose to have dinner at Rocky River Tap & Table. My husband had a couple craft beers and the pulled pork Mac-n-cheese . Both were excellent. I had a Michelob Ultra & the nachos with pulled pork. I asked for the additional bbq sauce on the side instead of poured on it as described & that was a good choice as the pork had plenty of sauce on it already. It was excellent. Great service & ambiance. We will definitely stop again on future trips through town. read more

We stopped here for a quick dinner before a show, with limited time. The server was very respectful of our need to hurry things along a little, which we greatly appreciated, although delivery from the kitchen was a bit slow. We did end up making our show, and everything was fine, but things were a little tense until the food arrived. The cheddar and bacon grilled cheese was great -- I love a grown-up grilled cheese, and the farmhouse bread was perfect. The others had burgers, and they said they were as good as they looked (which was pretty wonderful)! There's a great selection of craft beers, which the three guys I was with enjoyed, and my Makers Mark Manhattan was well made (many restaurants don't get the whiskey to vermouth balance right). This is a farm to fork establishment in Granger, Indiana located in a great area with several dining options. The service was fantastic, my server Adam recommended the grilled shrimp salad with sweet chili sauce. He was spot on as it was delicious. I would order this again. The salad had red peppers and mango with just enough dressing. I had a kolsch beer on tap from the Round Barn, which is a local brewery in Michigan, just across the state line. Great atmosphere, when the weather is nice it looks like they could have an awesome outdoor seating area. I will definitely return soon. read more

We visited here from out of town and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious! We got the Spinach and Artichoke dip and the Buffalo Cauliflower for appetizers. Amazing. We split the Wagyu Burger which was cooked to perfection and we even got to split the fries (half regular half sweet potato) which was really nice. They had live music and the man playing was so good! Very nice atmosphere. Very warm and cozy. Now our waitress, Shawna, was absolutely amazing. It was so busy that night and she was on top of every single table. I don't know how she did it! She's a superhero! She made my cosmo to perfection and was so nice, personable and accommodating. Our server was very nice but everything from the kitchen was underwhelming. Ceviche special has little flavor and wasn't topped with the sesame as the menu described. Baked Brie is more bacon Jam with not much cheese and also doesn't come as a whole but in a boat. Prime burger was good but undercooked. The impossible burger said it came with roasted tomato and avocado..cold slice of tomato and no avocado. Beet salad was decent but they were a bit over cooked and I'm not sure why they're listed under greens because there's no greens. Might come back to try brunch. read more

First the good. Local beer selection on tap was awesome. The beer tasted like they take care of their equipment no weird musty taste or funny smelling glasses. Our bartender was friendly and did a good job. I went there on a Monday it was a little bit slow and she was not only taking care of the bar but taking care of all the high tops around the bar. Sometimes when I looked for her she was busy doing other things but no fault of her own. Maybe I'm old-fashioned but I like someone stationed behind the bar....Tending the bar. This place comes across giving the impression that is a farm to table restaurant. If it is the meal choices should give some back up as to the source of the ingredients. Now the food I had the chicken pot pie which was average at best it was edible but tasted like corn starch the chicken was a little bit mushy. This place is great! Lots of options that cater to different types of patrons. Our waitress, Lili, was super friendly, patient and offered great service. The food was delicious. You can tell thought and care go into each dish. Even our son's dish from the kids menu was prepared well. They have a board which lists where their ingredients are sourced from, that we found refreshing to see. The wine and beer choices are abundant and include regional options.
