We got our food to go! Two Reubens, sweet potato fries, wedge salad, pepperoni flat bread, and a cobbler. Everything was delicious, but the cobbler was highly disappointing. This was not a true cobbler at all. It was more like an apple crisp with very little crisp. The apples weren't fully cooked either. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but definitely not a cobbler. So if you are interested in a true cobbler, don't get this. You will be disappointed. The main food though was delicious and definitely something to return for. Only downside on that was the sandwiches were a bit soggy. To be expected with to go sandwiches so no complaints. There was a 60th birthday party going on and the bar area was rockin so it was a little rowdy but it looked like they were having a good time. Our server was attentive and quick. I had an accidental surpriseish birthday brunch here a few years back. It wasn't really a surprise, now that I think of it. I was in the Bend with my dad and Esther (and my mom that time too?) for our usual Irish-women-dominating-the-tournament March experience. I like to sleep in--like really sleep in--so I was at first annoyed that my dad woke me up before 11 a.m. on my birthday. Well, I came downstairs to find not only Esther but also Colleen and Rachel there to surprise me and remind me just how many years it had been since we were all together in Odozor's class wondering which poor student would have to reprise Rachel's normal role, which she got just because she always sat in the front, which seems very un-Rachel-like now that I think about it. Anyway, after the song, we were headed out to a place I wanted to check out, sans Rachel because she had to get back to her kids, but when we arrived in its parking lot, it was closed! I didn't have any fresh ideas, and Marlene had some ideas that I wanted to veto, but Colleen saved the day (as usual) and suggested Rocky River Tap and Table. And we had to drive like bats out of hell to keep up with her. I had no idea Colleen drove so fast! When I walked in, I thought, "This isn't my kind of place." I'm from San Francisco, and by that point, I had come to think of the farm-to-table or farm-to-fork (if you like alliteration) moniker as just some schlocky Northern California marketing tool/foodie-cult marker. And when we were seated at a long, squarish-wood table with me at its head, I really didn't think this was my kind of place. But then I remembered it was my birthday and I needed to be nice, and you know what? I ignored all my prejudice and just focused on the lovely people I was with and how it was a wonder to be spending a birthday with my parents and friends we only see a couple of times a year and other friends from grad school whom I often don't see for years at a time. The food was good. I don't remember what I had, so it couldn't have been that memorable, but I do remember that the service was spectacular and that I really did enjoy the entirety of the dining experience, not just the company. Joined friends and family for New Year's Eve at Rocky River for dinner and drinks. The restaurant was busy but I wouldn't say it was a full house. Even our server agreed that it wasn't as busy as expected. The dining area where we were seated was very uncomfortable. The tables were so close together that we had to stand up and push our chairs in for people to get through. One positive, our server was quick to get our drink and appetizer orders. She was very friendly. We shared the pulled pork nachos and spinach artichoke dip for starters. Both were delicious! Our cousin and his wife ordered to salmon. They had to send it back because it was cold. While it was being reheated they decided to eat the side dishes of rice and Brussel sprouts. They were cold! At this point they just ate it because they were over it. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with sautéed mushrooms. It was very good. I opted for a salad instead of fries. Big mistake. The salad was WET! Not good at all. My husband got the Reuben sandwich. The pastrami was so tough he couldn't eat it. After a couple of bites, he gave up eating anything. He took it home and when he reheated the next day, he had to cut it up in small pieces just to be able to chew it. We, and our cousins, will not be returning. I've been hearing a lot of good reviews on Rocky River, and as it is operated by the same restaurant group with Cafe Navarre, I had really high expectations for the food and the vibe. It turned out that Rocky River didn't let me down. The experience was really great! My friend and I dined in on a Monday night and there were not a lot of people. We ordered the BBQ duck nacho for appetizer, and chicken mushroom sandwich and chicken fettuccini plate. The food was phenomenal. As they are committed to "farm to fork" concept, they made the greatest attempt to source locally. The duck nacho was cheesy, a little bit salty and mixed well with the great taste and texture of the duck meat. By the way, the duck was raised at a local Indiana farm. The chicken mushroom sandwich was a balance between salty and sweet. It was finger-licking just by looking at it. The caramelized onions brought a little bit sweet, and the seasoned chicken and the mushroom perfectly added into the layers of the test. The chicken was also very tender and juicy. The sauce of chicken fettuccini was a rich Asiago cream sauce, cheesy and delicious. It has delightful to taste the noodles mixed with cheese, feeling that scrumptious taste burst in every bite! We had a party of 7 on a busy Saturday night and our service and dinner was flawless! Our server, Amelia, was impeccable. She was busy and made us feel as if we were the only table in her section. She was attentive to every detail and her suggestions for appetizers, dinner, and dessert were incredible! Everything we ordered was better than we anticipated! Researched dog-friendly places and this was one of the top places! Very happy we decided to go here for dinner. Dog friendly outdoor patio seating. Finn (our pup) was greeted by the sweetest server and was offered a cold bowl of water - even with ice! Appetizer (loaded fries) was delicious and quick to be served. Our food was excellent! The plank salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans was very flavorful and served hot! Husband had the pulled pork mac n cheese and said it was delicious - our friend had the wagyu burger and said the same! For dessert we tried a strawberry shortcake and a blueberry dessert- which were both gluten free! We loved them! Had two of their new drink options and a beer as well! Rocky River Tap is a restaurant that offers a nice selection of craft beers supported by a relatively limited menu that has some range. The staff is friendly, the facility is clean and nicely decorated, and the prices are on par. We had dinner with friends at RRT on our way to Cedar Point and we all felt like we left with a solid meal in out bellies. The drink selection is a nicely curated list of craft beers and a few house cocktails. The food menu is not extensive but it does have some range to it. However, there really was not anything that specifically jumped out at me during my first, second, and subsequent passes. Certainly not a normal occurrence for me. I settled on the Wagyu burger and was pleased with my selection. In particular, the bacon jam was fantastic! Others had the Chicken Pot Pie (which wasn't bad but it wasn't the best they've had), the Short Ribs (a clear winner at the table), and a regular burger. The level of service was satisfactory and all our food came out hot and ready to eat. The prices were right where we expected to be with no surprises. Overall we had an enjoyable meal. For me there wasn't anything particularly spectacular about RRT but, then again, they did everything one could hope for from a restaurant. read more

Farm-to-table places are great and this one didn't disappoint. Everything was fresh. Highly recommend the heirloom tomato salad. Really want to go back to try the perch, ribs, and filet. Goat cheese mashed potatoes sounded tasty. Atmosphere was ok, but dark inside. They have a chalk board that lists where the local foods came from. Very cool! read more

This place used to be one of my go-to's when we had guests in town, but I'm so bummed with my experience of late. For a Farm to Fork place they hardly ever change up their menu, and they didn't even have any specials on a Friday night. Our server had way too many tables to juggle, and in turn we got some really terrible service. He would just drop something at our table as he walked by without a word. There was absolutely no niceties being spoken, no small talk at all. The menus looked like the printer ran out of ink while printing and were now just tattered and faded card-stock. Two out of the three of us were given lunch menus by the host during dinner time as well, which was pointed out when I tried to order something that wasn't available now. Tattered menus were surprising to me mostly because of the price point of this restaurant. My friend paid $22 for a Caesar salad with a piece of salmon on top. When you have meal items that are averaging $20+ for your meal... it's a little surprising that your menu looks like it belongs in a dive bar. I had a flat bread which was fine, and the portions were very large. I could only eat a third of my food, and my friend with the salad barely ate half of the salad. Just not wowed with the food like I used to be. I'm just bummed. No creativity or changes in the menu, drab atmosphere, workers overextended, and underwhelming food. Sorry ya'll. read more

I really hate to write anything negative during this time of struggle for the restaurant industry but Rocky River needs to up their game. First the good, mostly local supply base, huge tap beer selection mostly Indiana and Michigan brews. The food was not that great, three of us had the Gumbo-pass on this, two had the chicken, none were impressed. Our waitress, Jan, was a very nice girl but I think was a bit overwhelmed. Not sure if she had too many tables but we had to flag her down for drinks every time. She never stopped to ask if we needed anything and we sat and drank I think two rounds and the dishes were never cleared. It is a nice looking bar, very clean, great area. I am hoping they just had a bad day but as it is a four hour drive (we met friends from Chicago) I will not return, should I find myself in South Bend I will look elsewhere for a meal. read more

I'm not sure why they label this restaurant as "farm to table" they definitely forgot to include the "freezer" portion in that slogan. My table had 2 chicken sandwiches and 2 burgers, all of which were very obviously frozen and then most likely microwaved. Appetizer was good but that's because frozen pulled pork is good. Good atmosphere and service but very let down by the frozen entrees. $17 for a frozen burger (which didn't taste too good) isn't really a fair deal. Won't be back read more

I've now been here numerous times and I feel compelled to update my review. My experience has definitely been hit or miss and the food has been inconsistent. Our most recent visit was an early Sunday evening. It wasn't busy and we were seated right away. Service was very slow. We were sitting in the bar with the bartender as our server and it felt like he kept forgetting about us which I could understand if the bar was busy, but it wasn't. We started with the goat cheese small plate which we loved the first time we had it. What a disappointment - the serving was significantly smaller and had a pitiful sprinkling of veggies on top. We actually opted to leave after the appetizer and our drinks. I'm sure we will still give it another chance (we have a gift card to use!), but really hope they work out the inconsistencies. read more

Oh man....it saddens me to write this review. I came after work yesterday and opted to sit at the bar. Previous reviews had me pumped to try a new restaurant. However the food left me disappointed. Tried the pulled pork & blue cheese crostini....very odd combination. It just did not work for me. I can't put my finger on it, but not a good pairing and the pork had a lot for liquid on it. For my meal I had the Tuscan salad....again another strange pairing. But more than that, the ingredients were not of good quality. The pepperoni could have been better, the prosciutto should have been toasted or made crispy that would have been awesomeness instead it was tough and hard to chew. I don't think the eggs belonged on the salad and not sure why they used mozzarella cheese. It was more like a confused antipasto salad over greens. Great place to go for beer as they have a lot of options. Maybe opt to stick to "bar food options" burgers, etc. Me personally not a place I'd return to. read more

I'm going back and forth with the rating on this one. Hard to determine whether this place deserves 2 or 3 stars. We were staying at a nearby hotel and I was pleased to see a farm to table restaurant so close to us. I convinced the other members of my party (who are more of Applebee's people) to try Rocky River Tap and Table. However, after having had Rocky River Tap and Table, I'm not sure I'd choose it over Applebee's. And I'm a relatively-healthy-eating vegetarian. RRTAT is a large, open dining establishment. We were going to have to wait about 40 minutes, but a table near the door opened up, and, as we had been traveling, were pretty hungry, and didn't expect shorter waits anywhere except fast food, we all were fine with it. We were all but forgotten sitting where we were sitting. Our server perhaps was the worst I've had in years. She didn't check on us for 20 minutes after taking our water order. I saw her standing by and talking to someone near the kitchen, touching something absently. The straws, perhaps? And then, when she delivered the water, she thought we'd need more time to decide what to drink and started walking away. I called her back and said we were all ready to order. She had the bad habit of apologizing generally for being late without taking ownership and finding a way to make things right. She went on about personal issues (recent car accident, school) that were clearly weighing on her. And then, we waited over 40 minutes for food. I had a salad with, as I recall, peaches? It was pretty good. The spinach tasted farm to table. Others in the party had spare ribs (good), grilled cheese (too rich for the eater to go beyond the first half). The fries I tried were disappointing. One person ordered a cheeseburger plain -- no onions. It was delivered to him with onions by someone who wasn't our elusive server--someone who politely dropped the food off and darted. I went to the server, who was at another table, and she came over. She apologized that his burger was not as he ordered it, but she didn't offer to make it right by making another burger, bringing him something else, comping this dish he hadn't asked for, etc.) He didn't ask for a new burger, as he is diabetic and I think he might have been feeling sick had he had to wait another hour, and then, I'm not confident it would have been executed correctly. Onions literally aside, he said the burger was prepackaged and tasted like a Sam's Club Angus burger -- not farm to table at all. Two hours in this place is more than enough time and money spent for me. And I liked the food! Please consider hiring more staff and/or better training the staff so that tables are not ignored. You could redesign that spot where as a waiting area... just remove the table. read more
