Umbria in Blaine is a pick up only location for pizza, pasta, calzones and salads. There are 2 small tables inside to wait ( or eat). I placed an order online, said the wait was 25 minutes , but I had mine in 15-20 Mn. One of the members handing me my order also pointed to the plants on the sill and said they are for sale as well. ( so if you need a plant, while you stop for pizza, you're set!) I had the Veggie Lover's calzone. It was piping hot, well cooked , and the cheese nice and gooey. It was on the lighter side of saltiness, and a medium amount of tomato sauce inside. Plenty of veggies and cheese. No sauces came on the side with it. They have plenty of parking and they were right off of Hwy 65 and 125th ave exit. read more

This hidden gem is down the street from my house. I came here long time ago to try their pizza when a friend had given me a gift certificate. My daughter ordered mediterraneo pizza, and it was tasty. There was something tangy under the cheese, might be the sun dried tomatoes and the feta was perfect in there. Fettuccine Alfredo was also delicious, the sauce is perfect. Unless you love spice, add some peppers or spicy salt. We had some cheese bread as a promo coupon to go along with the pasta. Service was great, we ordered at the counter and food was ready in 15 minutes. Option to dine in a limited, there was a few tables and chairs but I did not dine in. I have ordered pizza here for take out 2 times in the last 5 weeks. First, a med was awesome and just what I wanted. Tonight we got an xtra large. Different toppings. We ordered extra sauce and xtra cheese (3) kinds. I really liked the canadian bacon from last time better than the pepperoni. But, there was too much sauce and not enough cheese this time. I've had reg cheese before having more than this 1 did. Not sure why thete was so much descrepancy this time. But the crust is good. I think it depends on who makes it. Haven't dined in but their delivery experience for Salad and Pizza was quite good! Their Caesar salad was large enough for 2-4 people, large pizza looked to be nothing special but was packed full of flavor. They don't skimp on any of the added toppings on a build your own. Definitely a unique quality pizza for delivery if you're sick of the big chains. Would definitely recommend Umbria delivery, order was ready in 15 mins! read more

It was hard deciding which pizza to choose but I went with the Umbria Supreme. Perfect toppings to sauce ratio with amazing crust! The stuffed mushrooms were yummy, cheesy, garlicky goodness! Large amount in one order. I finished off my meal with a large piece of tiramisu. It was all so delicious! I'll definitely order from here again. Really small place with literally one table for 2 and another table for 4. However, the food is good so I recommend take out/delivery. We ordered the taco pizza which comes with seasoned taco meat, cheese, and a bunch of other toppings. On top, once its cooked, they add lettuce and "sour cream". I put it in quotes because I swear we got tzatziki sauce but it was still good. They have a fun menu of other pizzas, calzones and pastas. Service was over all friendly but because they arent a busy place, the cashier/workers kept going to the back and we had to call out to them for help (we ate in). Looking forward to ordering other pizzas from them but we'll be doing takeout for sure. read more

The staff was very nice and accommodating. I was really hoping for NY style pizza and this just wasn't it. I tried a calzone and a pizza. The calzone was definitely the better of two but it's even hard to call it a calzone without ricotta cheese. I haven't here for a few years, and I realized what I was missing. I mean this is the only place I could get one of a kind pizzas, calzones, or even desert pizza. I mean when I walked in for take-out the people were really friendly, and helpful with helping me trying to decide. I got the chicken Alfredo pizza, and the gyro style calzone which was really tasty. Of course the wait was only half an hour which was totally worth it. I am so looking forward to coming back here again sometime soon. read more

This was the first time my significant other and I had been to this location. We walked in, and explained that we had a certificate from restaurant.com, and that we didn't quite know how they worked. The gentleman at the counter explained patiently to us, and waited for us to place our order. With a supposed wait time of 15 minutes or so, we decided to wait in the car. As we were about to head back in to grab our pizza, the friendly gentleman from before came out and delivered the pizza right to our car! Needless to say, the employees here really care about customer service. We haven't gotten to try the food yet, but it smells divine in the car. I can't wait to try it, and to enjoy more of their pizza in the future! Thank you to the employee who served us tonight, by the way. Their pizzas are incredibly awesome. Gooey, salty cheese, really crispy crust, and although the slices looks small they fill up fast. Like Pizza Luce's. They also have garlic bread that is out of the world. I've never had garlic bread like this before. You're going to have to eat it to believe it. My only complaint -- and it's a small one -- is that the toppings are a bit on the itty bitty side. The shrimp on my pizza was super small. Not what I was expecting, but the pizza still tasted great. I can't really say anything about the delivery, since we picked it up. Umbria definitely beats typical pizza chains, but I don't think any restaurant can beat the greatness of Pizza Luce or Punch Pizza. But definitely go with Umbria if you don't want Pizza Hut, Dominos, or Davanni's. read more

I have to say, anyone bold enough to put mashed potatoes, carrot sticks, and thinly-sliced pot roast on a pizza deserves a medal. BUT THEN the good folks at Umbria give me a cup of gravy to dip my pizza in and I'm ready to eat nothing but their pizza for the rest of my life. The Macaroni and Cheese pizza is genius as well - topped with none other than Kraft's Mac & Cheese. Their specialty pizzas are the ULTIMATE in comfort food. When I called about it the manager argued with me for 10 minutes and eventually stated he'd "just give me a refund if I didn't call again." The sauce is bland, the crust is unremarkable, and the toppings are just average. Pizza was very pricey even with the $10 off. We order for delivery every week. For the most part it's the same order every time. Sometimes they forget things but the drivers are really great. Today the manager took the order over the phone and told us about a 2 pizza deal with 2 toppings each. We ordered extra cheese and pepperoni for one and jalepeno and extra cheese for the other. We clearly stated we wanted cheddar cheese as our 2nd topping on the jalepeno pizza. I should point out that usually when we order it's 2 one topping pizzas, one pepperoni pizza and one jalepeno pizza. What arrived was the pepperoni with extra cheese and then a pizza with extra cheese but no jalepeno. My husband immediately called Umbria, reasonably annoyed and the girl who answered asked if he wanted them to send out the correct pizza. Duh! But then she asks if he wanted to talk to the manager, sure, why not. Then by the managers voice we can hear (phone is on speaker always) the manager is the one who took our order and he is adamant that we changed our order to extra cheese instead of jalepeno. "Was it not a 2 topping pizza?" My husband asks. "Why would I take off the Jalepenos from my order?" He says. The manager says we ordered extra cheese and cheddar. *face palm* "Sir! The cheddar IS the extra cheese!" The manager pauses and then says he repeated back the order, which he didnt. If he had, we wouldn't be here now. Then they argue back and forth until the manager offers a discount on the next order. The offer to run out the correct pizza is off the table now. My husband has had it by then and just agrees to get off the phone. After eating a slice of extra cheese he's so bummed not getting what he craved that he caves and decides to order the jalepeno pizza right away, at a discount. We never asked what the discount was, just figured maybe half off. Well, we never found out because again the manager answers the phone. My husband is calm again and asks for the jalepeno pizza at a discount. The manager cuts him off and wants to argue once again how he thinks we ordered the pizza. Now my hackles are up and I'm raising my voice over my husband's voice because I can't believe this guy. Apparently he thought we were calling to negotiate a free pizza out of him, which any other business would gladly give to make up for their mistake. My husband reminds the guy he offered a discount and that's why he's calling. The manager then says that my husband can pick up the pizza for a discount. We don't have a car. The whole reason they ever had our business is because they delivered. That is what we say. Then my husband asks the guy if he wants our business or not. The manager pauses. He clearly doesn't know how to run a business. I suspect this guy is also the owner because he is too pompous to care about customer service. My husband reiterates and the guy says "No, I read you back your order". Don't give your money to douche bag greedy business owners who are too narcissistic to accept responsibility of their own actions. Their food isn't even that good. I really want to give Umbria another chance. I do. The last time I ordered something from there was back in September. I ordered a Calzone and some wings. The food was great! The calzone was delicious as were the wings. Why the 2-star review? The wait and the follow up that never happened. I waited over 2 hours for my delivery! That's right. 2 hours! I was told 45 minutes when I ordered. That is no problem for a delivery. It was a Sunday and the Vikes were getting ready to play the Colts so 45 minutes would fly by. Soon it's 1 hour and 15 minutes. I call and am told that they are backed up. Okay. No problem. Sunday, football, etc...I figure that was the reason. At the 2 hour mark I call again and this time I get a reason that the driver had to drive all the way to the Northtown area for a delivery and then he was going to drop my order off on the way back. I mention that I live at Club West and ask why didn't he drop it off on his way to Northtown area? (They really drive to that area for delivery?) I ask them to please have a manager call me as this is ridiculous. I tell them to cancel my order and I will call Chanticlear instead. The person tells me that my order will be free. Okay, I tell her. I might as well eat it and see why everybody raved about it. The driver finally shows up around the 2 hour and 30 minute mark. He tells me that I am not to worry about paying. The lateness wasn't this guy's fault. I could tell by looking at him that people must have been hammering him the whole time for the lateness. Since it wasn't his fault I give him a $10 and tell him thanks. The food was great. It really was. I noted this in the Email that I sent to the Umbria website. I also told them my name and asked that a manager please call or Email me. We have the guys over from fantasy football every Sunday and we ended up ordering from Chanticlear the whole season. FOUND..HAIR..IN..FOOD..do you want to know more? Being a first time customer I had read reviews of Umbria and seen only good things. However, I decided to only order a calzone and cheesy bread. Umbria says they serve "Gourmet" food so I expected better than the average Pizza Hut experience. Yeah Right!!! My cheese bread was had a lot of garlic salt on it and the bread was pre-made. If a restaurant says they are gourmet that means fresh ingredients. Also, the presentation was gross. The cook took a slice of mozzarella cheese and just plopped it in the center and it was a barely cooked blob of goop. How do you ruin cheese bread? Also, the calzone i ordered was a simple ham and cheese and that was nasty as well. They put some type of Alfredo cheese in it and it makes it so rich it is inedible. I never thought i would say something had too much cheese but this calzone was horrible. Finally, when I came into the restaurant the guy behind the counter was taking what seemed to be personal calls and all but one employee had on a uniform. I noticed that the other people coming in who had called ahead seemed to have to wait a really long time to get their food. Was it because only one person was working? Was there hair in my food because no one was paying attention to cleanliness? I wanted to give Umbria another try because I heard their pie was so good but there definition of gourmet and find hair in my cheese bread ensures I will NEVER return. This is the best pizza that I've had on the north side. It's not as good as Punch, but it's pretty darn good. The veggie pizza was impressive and I was shocked at how good the mac and cheese pizza was (yeah, that's right, a mac and cheese pizza, and we're talking about the stuff from Kraft!). I live on the outskirts of the delivery zone so the delivery always takes a while (not sure if it's quicker if you're closer) but it's worth the wait. read more
